That class was pretty easy, but all this teacher does it go over something really quick and then have you do problems in class. And for some reason, in every class I just felt like picking up my book and whipping it at him. I guess that was just me...hes a cool teacher though, just not clear.
He is VERY easy, but just not great at explaining the information, i got a good grade, but overall learned nothing from the class.
Easiest Class I've taken at ISU. Nice guy. Would definately recommend to anyone that is taking MQM 100. Worst grade you'll get is a B.
I took him for stats and he is the most laid back teacher i have ever seen. Wore sandals to class most days. I would sware he was stoned sometimes. If you get lowere than a B in this class, you have something wrong with you. OPEN BOOK AND NOTE TESTS!
Easiest teacher I've EVER HAD. I barely got a C in my math 111 class (its like intro to stats) and got an A in Shoop's class. Go to class, do ALL the problems, and have him check over your excel projects before you turn them in. All tests are open book and note, the final is optional.
Shoop is the MAN! He rocks and has the funniest sense of humor. He makes fun of stupid people. It is great. He doesn't explain the material that well, but if you do the h/w in class it is not hard at all. Totally fair and cool guy to chat with. i would def. reccomend. One of my favorites!
He was very laid back. You have to go to every class. Do good on the first three tests then you won't have to take the final. Barely any homework. Tests are open note open book, but can still be kind of tricky. Great teacheer!
This class was so easy! Open book Open note tests! Class is sooo boring though. He basically opens the book and goes over each chapter and what you should know. Have him check all your homework and such...and do well on your tests so you don't have to take the final.
He is soooo easy. If you have to take MQM 100, I would take it w/him even though the class is at 5:00. You can use your book and notes on the tests, which are very easy. If your happy w/your grade you don't have to take the final either. This class is definitely an easy A!!!
awesome guy and class. test are open note AND open book. it doesn't get much easier then that. show up for class because you get points everyday. his lessons can make you feel kinda dizzy by the end of class but you can def. get an A easily in it.
Take this class if you want an A. Take good notes because you can use them on the tests so you can go back and follow your work. Practice tests are like the real ones except different numbers and whatknot. Awesome guy--show up to class too, those are big points!
Dr. Shoop rocks!! If your looking for an easy 'A'...make sure to take his Stats class!
THA Shoop is a god amoung the teachers at ISU. He makes stats seem easy and always seems to have a laid back attitude. If you have to take Stats dont settle for anything less than the SHOOP.
He is awesome!!!! Great professor who is funny and keeps your attention.
Absolutely loved him! Easy class with open note tests and group homework. I took stats with impossible professor Rad-something and failed- took with Shoop and got an A- I actually learned stuff too. Take it with him its an easy grade!
Class is sweet go there right a few notes and do a few problems............usually get out early too..........tests are kinda tricky but fair.........Eaisest stats teacher EVER
He doesn't really TEACH anything. But it's open book and open note tests so that pretty much how I passed this class. If you were to ask me anything bout stats, I probably wouldn't be able to tell you the answer. Hes a good guy though, and I got a B no problem, so I'm fine with him.

I seriously did not learn one thing from this class. Many people would not care too much about that as long as they get a decent grade, but I felt like I wasted my time going to class everyday. I got a solid grade, but with open book and note tests, there was no actual learning going on, just how to use ur notes on the tests.
Just Take It with shoop, you dont learn anything in this class, but if you have to take it, just take it with shoop, end of story
If you have to take stats, you must take it with shoop if at all possible. Attendance is mandatory, but this class is a breeze.
Dear Lord, please take Shoop if you want an A. This class was the biggest joke of my life. He talks funny but makes everyone laugh all the time. Nicest guy you will ever meet. Extremely sarcastic and laid back.
AWESome teacher! Get 6 pts. everyday just from coming to class and doing the problems! Will help anyone be good at math. wants every1 to succeed. Take him!
easy class! highly recommended. you get 6 points everyday for lecture when you do the practice problems. tests are open book and open note but can be a little tricky. lectures never go the whole time. he's a really sarcastic funny laid back guy. you can easily get an A or a B just by putting in minimal effort.
TAKE THIS TEACHER..Classes are scheduled for an hour an half, your only there for 20 minutes..Everything is out of the book..
he did not teach at all in class worst prof. i have ever had i would take someone else if you want someone to teach you. in his class if you can't teach yourself you are going to do bad.
Overall this class is easy. I think this semester the difficulty has gone up a bit. It's probably more of an easy B than an easy A now. He flys through the material which is nice but you may find yourself really not knowing the concepts the week before the test and being somewhat lost. The required excel problems can make or break your grade.
Shoop is awesome. i got 100% on the first exam. All of his tests are open book open note plus he gives you practice tests that tell you what will be on the exam.
Open book open notes, but you don't learn anything. I didn't to well in the class at all. His tests are similar to the reviews but I never go above a c on any test. No Hw. Final is optional but comprehensive
Dr. Shoop was the man. open book, open note tests. anyone who didn't get an A in this class shouldn't be in college. his review sessions are essentially the test only with different numbers used in the problems. easiest class i've ever taken, and i learned a pretty decent amount as well. overall you'd be a fool to not take MQM100 with Shoop
Super easy class. All tests are open book and open notes. His tests are problems straight out of the book that you answer on notebook paper. Optional final. Easiest A I've ever gotten.
VERY easy class, and short. He flies through examples, gives you a few problems to do, then you can leave. All tests are open book/note and he gives you an identical practice test the class before. Just go to every class and do the problems and you'll get an A. Take this class. Also, DO NOT wait until the last minute to do the excel problems!
SUCHHH A GOOD TEACHER. made class easy and quick. always got out early. teaches for like 15 minutes then gives you a few problems, then you can leave. get to use your notes/book on test. optional final. really easy class. took it in highschool and hated it, he made it so easy.
I hated this class. It is true that you get out after like half an hour everyday but you don't learn anything. He just rambles through one problem and you have to hope you understood his mumbling enough to do well on the test. Although the tests were open book and note, I don't recommend this class. I was just constantly frustrated.
Prof. Shoop...it's time to hang them up. It's time to leave the teaching field for those who care. This class is an utter joke, where your in-class work is simply checked rather than graded. It's open book and notebook so the exams are a joke. If you need an easy A than take this class, however if you want to learn anything than don't.
Though his class is short, and easy he covers the material that you will need for future classes when you use stats. If you go to his office hours, he helps you with anything. Like he says in the real world there not going to tell you, you cant use books or notes, so he lets you. Great teacher, people that bag on him think all of stats is important
Easy B. The tests are open book open note, but you HAVE to go to class to do well. Counts for attendance. If you're looking for an engaged professor or need to learn the material, do not take Shoop
doesnt go over full chapters: teaches the equations with a few examples. about 20 minutes of in class work and you're done for the day. tests are open book. pretty easy class..
He was a cool professor, kept class very short, taught what was going to be on the exam, exams are open book and open note.
Read the comments, he is the best. He only teaches you what you need to know, which is usually about 20-30 min per day. I really hate stats. The only downside is that attendance is mandatory, it counts as a test grade. Go to every class = 100% on one of the tests!
Awesome teacher. Bring your book to class. Quizzes and tests are open book. Rarely stayed the whole class period. If you have questions, he is always open to answering them. Takes attendance. Final is optional. I would highly recommend him!
Hes a pretty good teacher other than the fact that he only goes over one example, overall easiest stats teacher, I'd definitely recommend him to future students only because its always an open note/book test.
Jumps around chapters and examples, making it hard to follow for those who actually care about absorbing and learning the info he tries to present. Easy to get an A, open note/book tests, and short classes... but I couldn't tell you a thing about stats and I have to take the next level stats. People love him because he's easy, not b/c you learn
Your class attendance counts for 1 test grade. There's 3 tests and they're all OUT OF THE TEXTBOOK, OPEN NOTE. You just get lazy and don't retain anything. So just study a bit. Optional final.
Shoop is awesome. Not an easy class so make sure you go and pay attention. He is a ton of help during office hours and the tests are straight from the book, which you can use on the tests. Final is optional. Basically just attend the class and do Excel assignments and you are golden
Shoop is pretty funny. He makes it clear that he doesn't care very much and tries to give everyone the best grade possible. He usually ends class very early and tests are open book. If you want an easy A, take Shoop. If you want to learn anything about statistics, take someone else.
if you have to take stats, TAKE IT WITH SHOOP! as long as you go to class (which gets out early every single time) you WILL get an A. Open book and note for every test, optional final. Plus he kinda looks like Bruce Jenner, so that's cool. He's a nice guy and know's that he's the best stats teacher at ISU, so a little cocky, but he earned it.
Can't say I learned much but easy A for Stats. Final was open book open note.
He checks attendance so go to class. It gets out early and the tests and final are open book/note. Very easy class.
Easiest class I've ever taken. Impossible to fail. Go to class, he does attendance. Tests are open noteopen book, and the last one this semester is just the homework points doubled. Final is optional. He will always let you out early. Funny guy, very nice. Will do everything to help you if you need it. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN.
This class was an easy A. I highly suggest Shoop over everyone else for Statistics. All of the exams are open note and open book. There are Wiley assignments for the class online that you have to complete. His practice exams he gives are the same exact as the exam questions, just different numbers. The final is optional.
Shoop is a very simple man teaching a complicated subject. The class is run very straightforward, so come the class, do the work, and get an A.
Dr. Shoop is awesome! Excellent professor and very knowledgable. Lectures are usually about 35 minutes and he goes over exactly what you need to know for exams. Do the excel assignments they're due on exam days and I believe attendance counts as a test grade so it doesn't hurt to go. He is also very helpful to students who aren't "good at math"
Shoop is the man. No tests, no quizzes, just grades online assignments and attendance. Lecture usually lasts 20-30 minutes, so just go to get attendance points, which really add up. 4 online homework assignments that aren't difficult at all. A must take for a funny guy and an easy A
Shoop IS stats at ISU. If you're taking it with any other teacher, it's gonna be rough. Some people say Shoop cuts corners and doesn't "teach" like other teachers. They're right, in the best way possible. Shoop doesn't waste your time teaching you anything more than the best, fastest way to solve a problem. No frills, no BS. 20 minute lectures.
There's no tests, an optional final. All class is: 20 minute lecture, an example from the book that there is the answer for in the back, and some homework that you can just use the book examples and plug in to get the right answer. If you want to learn nothing and get an A, this is the class for you.
Super fun guy, lectures dont last more than 30 minutes on average, and he'll help you with all your assignments(we only had 4 and they were just 20-30 online textbook questions). No tests at all and the hw questions are stuff you can google easily, so i may or may not have only played league of legends during class and ended with an A in the class.
Dr. Shoop is the Man. When I took MQM 100, it was the hybrid course, with all homeowrk/assignments online. I scraped a A, but any effort at all will get you a B.
Pretty easy A. You do have to go to class to get the in-class points every day, but you'll be there for at most 30 minutes. There are online homework assignments that can be tough since he doesn't explain a lot of it in class, but the book is helpful. If you need this class as a gen ed and don't need to retain the info, take it with Shoop.
This is an interesting class... No exams; no final. Everything is based off in-class points and a few homework assignments. This is nice and annoying at the same time.
Oh Shoop. He's an interesting fellow, but a nice guy who teaches what you need to know. No tests, no final. Lots of online homework, but sometimes it's over material he doesn't go over and it's challenging (why I got a B) but he's the best for stats. Class is only 30 minutes at the most, you show up and do 1 or 2 class problems, I'd take him again.
This is the easiest class ive taken at ISU. Class is at most 30 minutes. No tests. You do in class assignments and homework that makes up the grade. I would recommend 10/10. If you go to class you will pass easily.
NO TESTS. OPTIONAL FINAL. 3 EXCEL assignments and online homework. Lectures only 20-30 min. Easy A but the content is confusing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.
He is the easiest teacher that I have ever taken. Lectures are only 20 minutes top and/or cancelled at least. No in class tests and optional final. Only homework is online and you will need to understand the material (from your own resources/his teaching) to be able to do them.
No exams. Weekly/biweekly HW assignments are what make up majority of the grade including participation points (go to class seriously, you're only there for 25-35 minutes tops), and 3 excel sheets. He only goes through few problems, so this class is basically self-taught but manageable. The book helped ALOT. If you have issues get tutoring @ Visor
I got my A which is a relief but by no means was it easy. This class gave me a headache. Shoop may seem easy to some but he teaches you material with just two problems, meaning we get through a whole chapter in 2 class periods. . Online HW is the big chunk of your grade so be ONTOP of them and work in groups. Seriously, befriend the people next 2 u
Super easy class. you do not even have to learn anything just show up.
Easiest class ever. Only homework and participation grades. So come to class and you will be dine
MQM100 with Shoop is very easy. 80% of your grade is online homework, 20% of your grade is attendance. Class always ends early. He isn't great at explaining things, but the subject matter is easy to learn on your own. Just make sure to always complete 100% of your online homework and excel assignments and you'll be in the clear. Final is optional.
He's a great teacher and he makes jokes that are actually funny. He teaches topics really quickly but mainly because no one ever says he needs to do more examples when he ask. The class last about 30 mins on avg. Overall he's good at what he does. If you miss class you will be lost and miss an easy in class assignment grade. NO TEST! Just practice
Shoop is super laid back, doesn't expect much, answers to in-class homework is in the back of the book so its super easy. Homework and everything is online. Crappy part is that he doesnt use RN, and doesnt rly teach. When it comes to out of class homework, its super hard and takes forever bc you have to teach yourself. But other than that, easy A.
This class is 80% online homework and 20% attendance. He teaches for 10-15 minutes then gives a few practice problems for attendance, not accuracy. Not a hard class, but not the easiest material. You may struggle with online assignments if you're not proactive. No exams. Optional Final.
Things have changed a little in this class now. There is ONE exam in this class. Its still 80% online and 20% attendance but its still an easy class.
His expertise is in talent acquisition/resumes. Class seemed like a waste of his talents. Made class 1 day/week. Teaches for 10m, do in-class assignment, get it checked for completion points/attendance points. Be prepared to learn on ur own, can do with the online hmwrk. 1 test, open everything. Grade is mainly the test, so study. Optional Final.
Halfway through the year, he made classes one day a week which was nice. He has a good sense of humor. This class is really easy, don't buy the physical textbook. Graded on attendance, online homework and a single test (majority of the points) which you can use any resource to pass (Laptop, notes, calculator etc). Optional Final which can only help
Great professor, easy class (With him). Halfway through class became one day a week, attendance is for points, online homework and there is only ONE test that he allows you to use your phone, book or laptop to help you with!! The final is optional in case you did poorly throughout the year.
Very nice, funny guy who clearly is super knowledgable about statistics. He only chose lessons he thought would be beneficial to us instead of going through every chapter in the book. Definitely try hard on the homework because it's 80% of your grade, with attendance being 20%. The final is an optional assignment that can only help you.
LOL. No exams, No quizzes, I don't even know how we scored points... oh yeah only online homework where you can find all the answers and work with friends. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH ANYONE ELSE. Literally wait another semester so you can get Shoop. FR.
Shoop is AWESOME! No tests, but show your work on the in-class activities! He got pissed when he found out we weren't. The homework is on WileyPlus & is kinda difficult cause he doesn't teach a lot in class. Get ready to use the book, internet, & friends (Chegg is great too). Overall, great guy & don't take this with anyone else!
First off let me say this class is VERY easy, passing shouldn't be a problem as long as you do the online assignments. However, Shoop's strengths don't lie in teaching. He presents the material in the most dry way possible, while leaving out important details. If you have to take further stats classes, this one will be a *BAD* foundation.
If you thought college kids were lazy, you haven't met Professor Shoop. You usually only meet on half of the regular days, no exams, no final, most of your grade is easy online homework. Don't expect to learn anything. He rarely teaches, and when he does, its so fast you won't remember it. Thankfully its for a gen ed that doesn't apply to our major
I signed up for Mon/Wed class. On the first day he canceled all future Wed classes. He's super funny and while the class is an hour and 15 min, his lectures are b/w 5-20 minutes. I'm a straight A student but I struggled to keep up with Shoop. He is great just know you must be independent + able to teach yourself stats. 20% showing up, 80% online hw
Meets once a week for like 20 minutes. Won't learn anything during lectures but show up to get attendance points. Get a chegg account for the homework and you can easily get an A. 20% of your grade is attendance and 80% is homework. NO tests
He does attendance every day in class so going to class is important. He truly cares for his students and will work problems step by step with you. His lectures are extremely short and the rest of the time you work on practice problems. The class is not hard if you pay attention in class. He is super laid back but is monotoned in lectures.
Very easy class, Make sure to go to lectures since he teaches the material that is on the homework. He uses excel for the formulas and explains what to plug in. At the end of lecture you have the option to ask about homework problems and he will walk you through how to do them. The only Assignments are weekly homework and an optional final.
Such a sweet teacher who really cares about his students. Makes statistics understandable and offers zoom lectures to help with problems. No tests, just 8 assignments online that allow 2 attempts on each problem. No final if you get an A in the class which is achievable. He offers office hours if you are confused and is a very caring teacher.
He doesn't teach ANYTHING. Chegg is the only thing that got me my B. There are 8 homework assignments that determine your grade. Final is not mandatory.
He doesn't really teach well so be prepared to teach yourself out of the textbook. All we had was 8 assignments on WileyPLUS and no tests or quizzes. The final is optional. I finished with a 98%. He does go over any questions about the homework in class and will literally show you how to get the answer when you share your screen. He is a great guy.
I took MQM 100 online with Shoop. The only assignments in the class are homework, there are no tests throughout the semester. He is a very understanding professor and his lectures are easy to follow. He will explain individual problems to students over lectures if needed. If you do well on the homework it's easy to get an A in his class.
Robert Shoop is the most down to earth professor I've ever had. He truly cares for his students and wants them to succeed, and is very great at teaching. Please take if you can!
Only grades in the class is homework assignments, no quizzes or exams. At the end of the semester there is an optional Final. Really easy class, you don't even have to go to lectures to get a good grade. Robert is a really nice man and I know he actually cares about student success. Won't learn much unless you go to class, not necessary to pass tho
He didn't do a single ounce of grading, the WILEY software did it for him. He had MAYBE 10 lectures the ENTIRE semester. Once you hit 92% on WILEY you're basically done with the class. I finished this class the first week of November. He's great if this is a gen-ed requirement for you, but if you're gonna be a statistics major, pick someone else.
Professor Shoop is a great professor, especially if you are taking MQM 100 for a General Education requirement. His grading scale is tighter than most, but it should not be a problem to achieve your typical grade in this course. He has a great personality and does not make you feel stressed with the homework.
Professor Shoop is very nice and always available to help. You have one assignment each week and zoom once a week where he will discuss future assignments and help any students stuck on current ones. No test, only homework which he allows 3 tries, and overall a good class.
Snoop as we called him is one of the best professors. Super funny and you did not have to attend the zoom lectures, although he often explained different ways to do the homework than the book explained it which I found helpful. Only grades are homework and you have 3 attempts. Super easy class, very nice given I had all other stressful classes.
He does everything through WileyPlus. Only went to two zoom meetings at the beginning of the semester. No quizzes or tests, the final is optional. The wileyplus assignments may have an assigned due date but can be completed any time during the semester for only a 10% dock to the grade for a late submission, so check the latest submission date.
Great guy + course. He's v straightforward and if you do your work, you'll be fine.
If you are a math major and actually need to know statistics don't take it with Shoop he's kind of bad at teaching. However, if you are taking this course as a gen ed this class is super easy with Shoop and I would recommend because it isn't a whole lot of work. Also there are no tests or quizzes.
helps you with homework and optional final, great guy
Very chill class, optional final, after the first few weeks only zoom one day a week. Wasn't very good at teaching content in class but always made time to ask questions about the homework and was willing to help.
This class was mostly online. I never attended the zoom meetings and passed with a B. There are 10 homeworks assignments total and 1 due every week with an optional final. The class was pretty chill overall.
Very easy class, just use AI and you will get an A. Never went to a zoom meeting
Easy class to pass. You don't have to attend the lecture but make sure your homework and quizzes are done which he posts like 4 every week or couple of weeks and you can use an AI as well to pass. There is a final tho but it is optional so if you are passing the class you don't have to take it which I didn't
100% RECCOMMEND FOR AN EASY A BTW. Didn't have to attend the online class and all homework online only 10. NO EXAMS OR FINAL.
Professor Shoop runs a straightforward class. With no tests and assignments graded through WileyPlus, it's an easy A if you stay on top of the work. Unstuckstudy was a big help for preparing.
Easiest A of my life. Everything was online and there was 0 exams. Maybe not the best teacher, but if you just need the credit, take this class with Shoop. He also kept the zoom meetings entertaining with his fabulous sense of humor.
TAKE SHOOP, easiest A of my life. the only thing that was graded was online HW that took 20 min per week. NO TEST & NO FINAL
Do not take this class with this professor if you actually need to understand the material. If you need this for an elective would highly recommend. Easy A. No quizzes or tests just homework due mostly every week but due dates are far in advance. Zoom meetings M/W but then just M. Very sweet professor and funny.
I would say this was one of the easiest classes I have ever taken here, only had like 10 homework assignments with an optional final. Would highly recommend anyone trying to knock out MGT 100.
If you have to take MGT 100 for a gen-ed credit take it with Shoop! He was very kind and responded quickly to emails and any concerns I had. There are only 10 homework assignments for the ENTIRE semester and no exams or quizzes!
