He puts an incredible amount of time into his class preperation. I failed his class but it was MY FAULT because I didn't do the projects in lab, so when I took the test I bombed. Do the assignments and you will do fine. I plan to take him again.

This is one of the best professors i have ever had here at citrus. He is very clear and patient. Adds his own instructional videos which are helpful. Goes beyond the call of duty to make sure students know the material,what is expected. Gives helpful tips and insight.considerate/fair.

Professor Solis is one of the most understanding professor's i have ever had in all of my college years. He is very professional with a little humor. A perfect mix. I think Citrus College is very fortunate to have someone like professor Solis on campus.

Professor Solis is probably one of the best teachers on our campus.He's vey well organised in material,lecture,patience,and very talented in his teachings which covers an area not so easy everyone to learn. He really convince me that I was in the right place to enhanced myself in the field.

He goes very slow so everyone can understand, but needs to be more understand and not just assume students are not telling the truth. He is quick to judge, and has his favorites.

Professor Solis is very well organized. His fast paced presentation is quite enjoyable. He stops frequently to ask if you have any questions, and addresses all your questions before he goes on. He also put additional time preparing the video which is very helpful. I learned a lot from him.

Some of the projects and exams are quite challenging, but Prof Solis makes himself readily available to help. He has a real interest in the subject he teaches and tries to incorporate real world ideals and situations to better prepare you for a 4-year and the industry. Great classes, awesome prof.

Solis is a superb instructor because explains more than just the code and encourages students to master the planning stage before "hard-coding." If you do not have prior experience w/object-oriented languages, CSIS 190 will be VERY HARD because the projects take a lot of grueling hours to debug through. Our class created an emulator for PacMan.

The class was easy to get a good grade in. All you have to do is make sure you complete the practice quizzes. And then if you don't do well on the practice quiz, go back and do the training.

I thought the class wes well planned out and easy to follow. You just need to do the work on time to stay comforterable with the assignments and not be stressed out.

I definitely recommend Prof. Solis online CSIS 130 course. Solis makes it easy to understand what you need to do. If you have a problem he is always available. Great class!

Alot of problems with the new 2007 sam software distance ED, however the class is still informative and a good class to take.

Online course. Lessons were clear & the work load was adequate. SAM 2007 Web Application had some bugs but the professor was able to catch them all, not his fault. Professor has a very clear speaking voice and is very good with teaching the subject matter. I'd most definitely take his classes again.

Took this class online at Citrus for Winter Session 2008. Professor Solis is a great teacher, organized and thorough in his video lectures. If you watch the videos and take notes - you'll do great on the quiz and exams. I was nervous about taking an online computer class -but it was great! I highly recommend Professor Solis!

Roberto Solis was able to teach me about computers over the computer. I wasn't sure how it was going to work but he made PowerPoint Presentations which were extremely helpful. He made the class go by quickly and without any stress. I was able to understand all the material instead of studying just to pass a test. He was great!

One of the best teachers at Citrus, very smart so he knows how to teach the subject (CSIS 107) and make it easy and understandable. Not too mention just an awesome person, gives you every oppurtunity to get a good grade.

Mr. Solis is by far one of my favorite teachers on campus, and hopefully i have him for another class, and i highly recomend this teacher to everyone, very helpful and at the same time easy class both to understand and to complete. Mr. Solis is a great teacher.

Distance education...gives you all the answers. Takes the tests himself records it and lets you watch it as you are taking the test. Easy A+

Professor Solis is the best professor on campus, no question about it.He really wants every one of his students to succeed.He shows up early before class and stays after to answer any questions students have. i don't use ratemyprofessor a lot. but i just had to rate him because he asked us to. quite honestly, one of the best professors i've ever had. he is extremely helpful and he wants you to do well. he does a great job of teaching programming concepts in a clear, consise, uncomplicated way.

Solis is the man. His class is easy because he makes it for you to understand it easily. He'll always repeat himself so that you get what he is saying. His test are always open notes. Take him, if you don't you'll regret it. Only take it if you know nothing about Windows and how to use a keyboard. Leaving that class with an A..

This class was fairly easy because of the program we used. There were tutorials that showed you what to do and the quizzes were almost identical. If you just do the quizzes you will get an A in the class. Also, you get five chances to redo each quiz. He was super helpful but only opened the book once the entire course-not worth the money.

I took a hybrid class during the summer.He's a very sweeet guy. Very helpful.Explains things very clearly. Understands that the summer course is short so is not demanding on the work. lets class out early. Take him you'll learn & pass!

Easiest class ever! No Hw! Took this class online and only had to do one quiz every week. Other than that there were no assignments due. Got to make up missed quizzes at the end of the class. No book needed, program tutorials give step by step instructions on how to complete the quizzes. Awesome professor replied to emails quickly. Super nice!

Very easy class to take online. I never bought the book since it wasn't necessary. He gives tutorials and then you take quizzes each week. Would recommend if you're looking for an easy class to take with a heavy load of other classes

By far the best instructor in Citrus College. He's incredibly knowledgeable about everything related to computer science including up to date news and information. He will take time to answer questions and review coding if you're stuck or confused. Plus there's no HW, only tests through Blackboard which all professors should adopt. Take him!

Excellent CS teacher. So helpful and gives great lessons. He's very easy to understand and is helpful but you have to do your best and try to get a good grade. His website has detailed homework examples. sadly had to withdraw his CS 225 class but by far the best programming teacher I've ever had. Would definitely take his classes again and again.

Professor Solis is very responsive online, which is crucial for distance education. If you make the effort, he is actually really accommodating. He let me add the class and even retake a test I stupidly forgot to take in time when I emailed him. The work is optional, so 4 exams are your grade. I will definitely continue into his CS225 class.

Robert Solis is a really awesome professor. I'll admit that his class is quite easy, and he is extremely laid back when it comes to attendance. If you are interested in CS and actually complete the labs he posts online(which aren't graded,) you can and will learn a lot from this course. Best of all he is more than willing to answer any questions.

Solis is by far my favorite professor. He's able to break down & explain difficult concepts with ease. He's great at giving real world examples & applications for the things he teaches. His class is meant for people who want to learn, while his grading is lenient & allows for anyone to get an A with ease, those who pay attention will learn a ton.

He's one of my favorite professors on campus. He grades primarily on four exams and the final. If you take the quizzes and lectures, you should have no problems with the exams. It's nice to have a professor that is passionate about teaching.

Attendance isn't mandatory but make sure you take the tests and do the projects. He removes your lowest test score to bump up your grade. His lectures are awesome ask him lots of questions and stick around for the computer science club.

Professor Solis made introduction to programming a smooth sailing course. At first I thought I wasn't going to do well but with the lab assignments and several quizzes, it wasn't such a hard class. Quizzes are unlimited attempts and all exams are open book/note/internet, just not open friend. He posts all his lab lectures on YouTube.

I like professor Solids. His lecture isn't only very very amazing but also he care of our futures. He looks like a father.

Ive taken many classes from Solis in order to transfer as a CS Major, and he is by far my favorite professor at Citrus. He provides amazing video lectures and ensures that you have a fundamental understanding of the topics being covered. He even goes so far as to provide information on internship programs provided to him by his former students.

I have taken CS111, and CS225 with Prof. Robert online. And I've taken CS232 and CS242 with Prof. Robert in-person. After three years in college, I can definitely say that this is the best professor I have ever seen. He's so friendly and he really cares about teaching students and making sure they understand the material. Definitely recommend him!

Class is easy enough to pass no problem but it's clear we are skipping a lot of material and not being prepared as well as we could be for the future. He does all assembly coding in intel syntax and visual studio IDE but the book uses AT&T syntax and a different IDE so the book is pretty much useless. Better use YouTube if you take online class.

Professor Solis is a fantastic teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed his class and his lectures both online and in person. His class is not textbook-heavy, but you will need some textbook definitions for quizzes and tests. Most of these definitions you can figure out or learn by watching his lectures but having the textbook makes it more accessible.

Solis is the goat when it comes to CS. His class is not that hard, however he gets the points across when it comes to understanding the material. Highly recommend.

he teaches most comp-sci classes so bond with him, you'll see him lots, amazing professor, made cs 111 really easy to learn if you have no background. tips: buy the textbook, he says you don't need to but it helps you learn and most of his quizzes and exams focus on material in the textbook, love him as a teacher and super easy. don't be scared :)

Professor Solis was the professor who got me into Computer Science. His lectures were great and informative. He always offers feedback, and I believe he truly wants to help his students. He's someone who is very willing to connect with his students and helps you learn a lot about the Computer Science field.

second class with him. he's one of the good ones who truly cares about you. if your a stem girl starting out (and in general someone who hasn't done a lick of coding or even know what a structure is), don't be afraid. you will struggle, but you will learn, and he will hold your hand through it all until you can manage. he wants you to succeed.

He is an amazing professor. I had never taken a CS course before but his lectures/videos explained things in a simple way. He has daily quizzes which are 2 questions and other quizzes that are part of the module (all of his exam questions are from quizzes). Unlimited tries on quizzes but only 2 attempts on exams.

Robert is really good at teaching programming and design in this intro class, but what he does not teach is the basics and fundamentals of computer science, so be aware of that. If you want to learn about that -which you should- then you will have to buy and actually read the textbook. Other than that his videos are great, he makes it easy.

One of the kindest professor. However, the easiness of the course makes it difficult to commit to the course, so be sure to watch his lectures. In Professor Solis's videos, he breaks down concepts easily and is always ready to help you. Take his course if you want to learn a lot and get a supportive environment!

Professor Solis has been amazing so far. He has tons of lecture videos to help out with the course material. As someone who is very new to CS, his class had helped me build the basic fundamentals for programming. I would definitely recommend anyone who is new to the CS major to come and take Solis.

I've had Professor Solis for multiple classes and while his online portions can somewhat feel boring since you have the ability to rewatch the lecture at your own leisure and only need to be there for the pop quizzes, don't be discouraged by the high point counts of his assignments. His in-person segments are arguably the more important ones.
