WONDERFUL teacher. I failed this class the first time with Emily Geil but I got a A in it with him. Goes over things clearly, had a great sense of humor, very nice and down to earth guy. I would STRONGLY recommend this class to anyone, especially if you have trouble in math. :-)

Strozack is AMAZING... he makes lots of jokes and is very down to earth. I hate math, but somehow he makes it funny...

He is so energetic. He makes a joke out of everyone and everything so he really makes u want to go to class, that and he takes roll but its worth going because he gives out extra credit.

Mr. Strozak's test are way hard. Dont pay attention to the sample test because they are nothing like the real test! He is real good about working with you so you can achieve the best grade possible, which is something most teachers dont do! A piece of advise is to do your homework! It really helps!

Take him!! He is very helpful and he actually makes math understandable. He makes a lot of jokes trying to be funny so do not take them personally, thats just how he is. If you go to his office hours he will go over anything you have problems on and will do his best to help you out. He gives lots of partial credit as well!

I don't see how it would be possible to do bad in the class. The first A i have ever gotten in a math class. He gives you all the possible resources to do well without giving you the exact answers on the test. It is worth it to take him.

Great teacher. I did horribly in math class all through high school, but when I got to his class I did well. He gives reviews to study with before every test, and if you do the homework and exam reviews you will be ok. My piece of advice: really REALLY pay attention in class!

This professor knew his stuff. But be prepared to work hard and study every night. He cracks a lot of jokes and still manages to teach you the important concepts. You definitely need the book because he goes over the problems so fast that you cannot take notes and comprehend at the same time.

Extremely easy! Attendance isn't mandatory, but DO NOT miss class because it's impossible to learn from the book--it complicates things. 4 SHORT quizzes that come from homework (which is optional) and midterm & final (which were both easy!). He knows his stuff and he does an excellent job with giving detailed notes. Pay attention & u'll get an A

He really funny, but at the same time knows his subject. I never had an easier time in a math class, he really spells everything out for you and teaches you his own way, but its not mandatory to use it. He only uses the book to give practice problems, and his tests and quizzes arent hard if you do the online homework. Very fair grading.

Possibly the best math teacher I've ever had. As long as you take the notes in class and do the homework online, you're practically set. The class is amazing. He's an extremely entertaining teacher as well. I feel as if I'm going to a comedy club each time I attend class.

GREAT PROFESSOR! He made (so far the sem. isnt over) easy.Gives online homework in which the problems can be done over and over until u get it right.will give ex. credit problems periodically and u can get 1 point for each which will be added to the next quiz score. AMAZING PROFESSOR! He's kinda like the Carlos Mencia of math, except you actually learn and laugh at the same time! He's a brilliant person and has a very unique way of explaining things. One of the greatest math teachers I've had. He understands that the important part about grading math work isn't necessarily the answer, but whether the person knew how he or she got there. He once gave me half credit on a problem for showing I understood what the answer should be through a jotted down graph and math analysis.

Freaking genius. Asks "Any questions?" which seems rhetorical since everything makes sense after he explains it. Just payed attention to his lecture, didn't study and passed the first quiz getting over 100%. Great teacher. Funny too. Just realized taking notes for his class might be a waste of time... and paper.

Quizes are word for word, number for number from the homework that he gives us. He gives us the odd problems too! Tests are moderately hard. Study for them and relax the rest of the semester. + He throws out worst quiz grade

Mr. Strozak is my favorite professor since I have been at ODU. He is light hearted, but knows when to be serious. His tests are verbatim what he says they are going to be. Very easy to understand. You still need to do some work on your own, but he makes sense of everything in the class. If you can take him for any math do it.

I completely hated math before I had Mr. Strozak. He makes learning one of the more challenging and mind numbing subjects bearable with his random outbursts about too much Metallica this monring on the way to work. Oh and he likes pie...A LOT. He's helpful and cares.

His classes are almost always the first to be closed for registration because everyone wants to take Strozak for Math. Arguably the best Math teacher on the planet. Has a comedic personality so Calculus at 8 in the morning wasn't too bad at all :) Quizzes are easy, exams are easy, and online labs are easy. Oh yeah, I learned a lot, too. Strozak <3

Professor Strozak is completley, 100% awesome. I had taken this class before with a different teacher and I did not pass but with Professor Strozak, the material is clear and easy to understand. He makes class enjoyable and I usually dont realize that the 50 minutes of class has gone by.

Best. Professor. Ever. For someone as deficient in math as I am, if you attend class and DO HIS EXAM REVIEWS, you will get good grades. Again, if you do the exam reviews he posts, you will get a good grade. Easiest math professor ever!

He'll always joke around, but he's a great teacher. Attendance is not at all mandatory. I only ever showed up for exams & quizzes, & I got an A. I missed one exam, but your final exam replaces your lowest exam, which in this case, is my missed one. He doesn't count 1 of the quizzes either. Do the labs. He takes problems from the optional homework.

He is amazing teacher. Had him for both pre cals. The only thing he hates is late stuff. Make up test are way harder than the original.

He's great. I took 162 the first time under a different professor and earned a D+, partly because I felt disconnected and hated the material. Strozak makes it relevant and fun, and is a fun guy all around. I want him for all my math classes! Thankfully I have him for calculus soon :)

Mr.Strozak is an amazing teacher. The grade I got was the grade I earned by not caring. I am ashamed that I didn't attend class more because when I did he made the material easy and fun to learn. I personally downloaded the e-book rather than buying the hard copy. Take him if you get the chance! Amazing teacher.

He's GREAT! Calculus is hard, and he makes it more bearable though. He's really funny too. The book isn't necessary, but you can get it cheap online. It's good to have a hard copy with something as abstract as calculus. You'll have to buy access to online material though, which is like $80 :/. We need more instructors like him!

Strozak is an awesome professor. Hes a very laid back guy, and gets information across in a way that is easy to understand. He is very helpful if you ask, and does everything in his power to help you learn. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you miss under a certain number of classes, he will drop a few low grades. I don't had a single complaint.

Great professor, and easy to learn from. Grades very fairly and prepares you for the tests, and even drops the lowest one if you attend enough classes. The only thing I didn't like about him was that some of his jokes could offend people, and that is not something I respect.

He is definitely the best math teacher I have ever had in my life. He doesn't require you to buy the book but you do need mymathlab. Also the prep tests are the greatest. He knows the material so well beyond memorization so if you pay attention to what he says, you will be more than prepared for everything.

He gives you all the extra credit in the world, plus before every test he puts up a practice test you can take and if you get a 50% or higher he gives you extra credit to your grade. There is nothing bad to say about this professor. He gives tons of examples, will always answer questions, and is available for office hours all the time. He gives a practice test before every, which is very similar to the test.

Class material is not super difficult, but not super easy either. He gives lots of examples during class. Quizzes once a week, which come directly from the homework. Tests are NOT multiple choice, must show all work yourself. Usually only about 3 or 4 questions long. He drops 2 lowest quiz grades. Tries to be funny, sometimes succeeds sometimes not

This class is very tough during a six week summer session. Dedicate the time and effort daily and you will be fine. Hindsight I would have liked to have taken this class during a regular semester. We did rush through the material at times, but there is only so much he can do due to the constraints. Very solid professor that knows the content.

Strozak is cool and all, but his class was just way too hard. Yes he is funny, but I did not feel as though he was approachable for extra help. He makes you feel like you understand the material by over simplifying it in class and on the homework and even on the quizzes, but he tests on the most difficult problems. If the late Robbin Williams had taught math, you would know what to expect from Mr. Strozak's class. He makes the lectures exciting, and likes to play games where students can earn extra credit. Gives you the tools necessary to pass any test. Do the optional homework and the pre-test because the techniques used to complete the assignments are carried over to the actual test. I wish I could take Strozak for all my math courses. His notes are clear and he gives practice tests that help you for taking the tests. If you get an A on the practice test you get 4 extra credit points, B is 3, C is 2, and you can take it multiple times. He's very helpful during office hours and will give you a hint to what's on the tests.

What more can I say? Professor Strozak is smart, funny, helpful. Need I go on? 5 Tests, 5 Graphing Assignments, HW and Practice Tests. The usual work-load for any math course. If you don't understand something, he will always be there to help. Seriously. Take him already! You will not regret it.

No one can deny he is smart and respectful. This course requires 5 graphing assignments(10%), 5 exams(50%), mymathlab(10%) and final(30%). If you practice some examples from class, you can get high score. Also, he gives us final review questions which is almost the same format. Take his class!

Math is not my greatest subject--believe me when I say that! But this professor is great at making math easy. He explains every step and even adds humor into his lessons. He makes his own videos (in Pre-Calc I) so that everyone can get help from his lectures, the lab, homework, the videos, and meeting him outside of class, if need be. Best professor ever! Head of department. Really interesting lecturers and honestly tries to have a good time in class. Grading can be harsh but he always puts out a practice test for extra credit. Drops lots of quizzes. Makes taking notes easy. Doesnt follow the program he rearranged modules to make it easier to learn. Honestly my favorite

Strozak is a great teacher. He: - takes time to explain and write down his lectures clearly. - provides good online study guides for each test. Doing them is an easy way to get extra credit! - has workshops once a week with TA assistance. More extra credit! - is very available outside of class. - is hilarious! He makes Math easy!

Although I am retaking this class, Professor Strozak was easily one of the best professors I've had. He works very well with his students, you just have to talk to them. If you are in a rough spot or anything that might effect the way you exist in his class, he is willing to accommodate. Tests are somewhat short, but the problems will take you abit

He is easily my favorite math professor and would take him for all of my math courses! He is funny and makes math less boring. He explain things very clearly and wont have any problems with going over it again if you dont understand. His workshops are very helpful in understanding the content and tries to help as many students as possible! 10/10

Take him. take him if you like math, take him if you don't like math. He gives fantastic lectures which is hard to do in math. he is always there to help you out. He makes you look forward to going to class, and the way in which he teaches allows you to really understand the reason why you're doing things. He's my favorite teacher at ODU

Professor Strozak is hands down the best math teacher at ODU. He make math fun even though it is a hard subject. He is not a hard grader, and will give you partial credit if you did the calc correct. I would recommend him to anyone taking a math class.

I can't recommend Strozak highly enough. If you're a math major at ODU, man you're lucky to have him as an advisor. Even luckier if you get to be in one of his classes. I've met exactly 3 professors that LIVE to teach. Strozak is one of them.

BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD! This was my second time taking precalculus and it literally felt like a completely different class. He is a great teacher and is always willing to help his students out. We did workshops in the lab and when I tell you that it helps so much on the test it was a breeze. I wish I could take him for all of my math classes!

Professor Strozak is an AMAZING person. Ive taken Precalculus for the third time this year, but never with him. Hes so easy to talk to in person, hes hilarious, and very helpful. If you struggle in math he will actually make you love math and become better at it. Workshops helped me to learn better, I wish he could be my calculus teacher.

Strozak is fantastic! 4 exams, a final, online quizzes, and weekly workshops. Each exam has an online study guide worth 4 extra credit points, and it prepares you well for the test. His lectures are hilarious and he's great at explaining the concepts simply. Always willing to help in office hours, but he doesn't always respond to email.

Had him a few years back. Really great professor and will work with you. After I left ODU he purchased a car from me at the dealership I worked at. Totally random but it was good seeing him. He remembered who I was!

I clearly did not pass this class. but thats my own fault, this level of math was to complex for me. But the professor was... really good he always provided help I wish I would've took up on the offers. He explains things in ways to make it easier to understand I think if you're okay with a harder math level than he's perfect for you.

Mr. Strozak is a very caring professor, he will make his students know the material and is willing to spend extra time outside of lecture to meet with you and answer any questions. Its clear that he is passionate about math and wants his students to succeed. The material is difficult but Mr. Strozak will simplify it to make it easier to understand

Just a really good guy. One of the most caring professors I've come across and is more than willing to dedicate his time to students. Had a few knee-slapper jokes as well. It's difficult material and he's not going to hand you an A. However, he sets you up for success and if you put in the time, you should do well.

Amazing math teacher, pay attention to do class and do a the study guides and then you are set for the class. Easy explanations and answers are answered well.

One of my favorite professors at ODU so far. I have only had him for a few classes by now, but he has not failed to make me laugh at least once every class. That is especially hard to pull off in math. He utilizes light homework and few quizzes to really make you study for each because of how heavily each affects your grade.

Wonderful teacher! Funny, engaging, and if the students catch 3 mistakes in a class, he gives everyone extra credit. Homework was on MyMathLab but was pretty helpful. He hosted review sessions on zoom before every test. He also posts test reviews online for extra credit. Attendance is optional, but if you miss class you'll be behind.

STOP! Click on the other tab and sign up for his class now! He writes/explains the how, and the why for every problem; hes a rare breed of good teachers. Most math profs bombarde you with question after question hoping that youll understand the how and why. If anyone gave him a bad rating on here they were lazy. Best math TEACHER Ive ever had!!!

Mr. Strozak is an exceptional professor; the best I've ever had. He truly makes math class fun. He's a special professor that leaves a lasting impact on you. I'm terrible at math, but he's so great at teaching that even I learned. He's an extraordinary educator and person; he's very engaging, dedicated to his students, and absolutely hilarious.

For a calculus class, this was very enjoyable. There is lots room for grade recovery and extra credit. He does reviews the class before the test which are extremely helpful. He is a very quick grader and will usually do within a couple days. Quizzes are online and on mymathlab.

Loved the class and prof. 4 tests, cumulative final, 4-5 quizzes, 6 labs. (I am a math major) I would take every class with him if I could. Test 2 was the toughest, so be prepared. Can't praise him enough.

Had Strozak for pre-calc all the way through calc 2, awesome guy, super funny and has really helpful review sessions.

Professor Strozak is the math GOAT! He breaks the material down to a level that everyone can understand. Put in the work and utilize his office hours and you will be fine. He also has a great sense of humor and offers extra credit.

He literally wrote the book they're teaching from. He made additional time during office hours to address the problems I was having. The modules are great and make it so that you are guided from beginning to end with relevant work.

By far, one of the best math professors I have had. I took his 8am class, but he always managed to make us laugh with his jokes and humor. He makes sure you understand the concepts and likes it when you participate and ask questions- even if they are "dumb!" The course requires a lot of practice and he is available. You have to work for your grade.

Pre-Calculus is a hard and boring class but professor Strozak made every lecture fun and easy for us. Everything was described in a simple way and the professor is lenient. TONS of opportunities for extra credit (I regret not taking every extra credit opportunity). Studying is definitely required after classes.

Strozak is a very cool professor. Although the only things that are graded for this course are quizzes and tests, Strozak makes sure you understand the concepts.

I'm sad to say that I dropped this class before the semester ended, however from the majority of the time I did have in this class I love love loved it! He was so funny, incredibly intelligent and really knew how to teach with no judgement, he could simplify things no matter how silly the question seemed. 100% recommend!

Professor Strozak is one of the best professors I have ever had. I have never been a math person, but because of his teaching skills, I was able to earn an A in the class. I never got below an 85 on any of the exams. I would recommend going to each lecture because you will learn a lot. He will help you as much as you need and without judgment. :)

He is so kind and supportive and helpful. He makes it pretty easy to learn. I just wish that his Friday lectures were given in person. He is welcoming about questions- no question is stupid to him. The partial and extra credit opportunities were very helpful. His practice tests are really helpful. Don't skip the homework, it helps!

Super friendly and his personality helped keep the room lit up even with math which is a slow topic for me. He's also great at explaining the topics where I previously struggled. He also does lots of extra credit, as well as partial credit on tests and quizzes. This is also from a shy student who sat in the front. Strozak is a good choice

Lectures are well taught, straightforward, and not straight out of the textbook or ppt slides. Take good notes and you'll do fine on the tests and quizzes. Prof. Strozak is probably one of the best professors I've had yet. Truly cares for his students & their success.

This is genuinely such a good professor, I barely got by with my C. But that was not his fault, it was my own. I saw him for office hours almost every time and he never once made me feel bad for struggling and cared about me learning the material, and he's hilarious!! I HIGHLY recommend strozak:)
