Really easy class, he gives most of the answers out in lecture, and the study guide gives you just about every question that will be asked on the exams. If you go to class, and take good notes there should be no problem passing this class.

He's a good guy, and his course is really easy, but you watch about an hour or so of video daily, so it's basically a huge waste of time to even go.

Very good teacher enjoyed his class and will take other class that is taught by him. He's nice, caring, and does a good job at teaching.

Had him for Soc 111 too! A great teacher, loves his job, wants students to do well. Gives us large portion of exam early...easy to pass if you actually make an effort (like all classes), only an idiot would do bad in his classes. Take his classes!

He is easy. The lecture is direcly from the notes, and he gives you review sheets and worksheets to help you out. He is a good teacher.

Thaler's class is awesome. I had him for both Soc 111 & 112. The exams are easy, he gives you a review sheet for the exam and it's almost identical to the exam! He shows a lot of movies, but you can usually just walk out. Offers a lot of extra credit!

Great Prof. easy to understand, gives you study guides, not any homework. Be a good speller :) Would take him again in a heartbeat. Shows too many movies.

this is probably the best darn techer i have had since i came to college he cares for his students and if you do the review before his exams you will ace the exams good luck he is an aswesome teacher.

His teaching style is wonderful. We have a quiz everyday, but they're very easy if you take the notes he gives you. And tests are from the study guides and quizes. Great guy to take, will defintely take him again!

Prof. Thalers class is very easy. He gives review sheets that are extremely similar to the test. Very easy to get an A if you put a few minutes into studying the review sheets. Instruction is good and you will learn new information.

Easy class...Lots of movies, all incredibly boring...spelling is important (it's even on the tests)...NO HOMEWORK!!!...Class is a little boring, but the ease of it all makes up for the boredom...I would definently take hime again...DO THE STUDY GUIDES!!!!

Thaler seems to be an easy going guy. Spends half the class giving notes, and half of it showing a movie on the lesson. He repares you for the tests well. I wouldn't suggest misssing the class, though, because he grades on attendence and the amount of notes given in that time will put you back.

Funny old man, but all the other reviewers are correct. Notes, movies, review guide (which is basically the exam), and a couple tests. Easy class because he is very consistant, just attend, and take notes.

This class is very easy. I would recommend not buying the book. He gives you a review sheet and it is word for word like the exam. Take good notes and you should have no problems.

Great man, Great class! His tests are based on the review he gives you before hand. If you know everything on the review, you'll get an A, but you have to study. He's very intelligent and knows a lot of stuff. I'd take him again.

Still the same ol' Thaler! Tests are from review. Many, many movies....however, we had a field trip and some very interesting lectures and interactive learning taking place. The flintknapper was great! Take this class, its very interesting!

VERY BORING. I played on my phone throughout the class. But very easy, gives you the questions and answers the week before. Notes on blackboard, VERY easy, but VERY boring.

Mr. Thaler is the best soc professor at SVSU. He is very helpful as well as very interesting. His tests are very easy and if you show up for class for the whole semester he takes that into consideration when grading. Mr. Thaler is one of few teachers who will help out any student above and beyond. Ignore all the bad comments some people = LAZY!

Professor Thaler is a terrific teacher. He is very interesting and super intelligent. He makes the class fun and I learned a lot. I hope to take more classes from him in the future. I wish all professors were as dedicated and good as he is.

Prof. Thaler is the best! He is very interested in the course material and presents it in a fun and interesting manner. I found that I wanted to go to attend classes, especially in the summer when he provided ice cream sundaes. The only way you can not do good in his class is to not attend. Exam materials are provided in class.

Thaler is great! I'd suggest any of his classes to anyone. He makes learning fun and that's what it is supposed to be about.

I had Prof. Thaler for Intro to Anthropology. I went into this class as a freshman and not interested at all. However, I came out estatic about taking him for another class the next semester! He is a brillant teacher, very smart and clear with his notes. There is a study guide for every exam and tons of extra credit opportunities! I recommend him!

Basically gives you the exams with the studyguides- lots of extra credit(events&attendence). Class sort of boring, lots of notes, exams easy!

He is so awesome!! On the first day of class, (soc312 archaeology) we watched Indiana Jones!! How freaking sweet it that. He's lectures are interesting, and he knows his stuff. Tests are easy, since he pretty much gives them to you on the study guides. You do take a lot of note, but oh well. Take this professor for anything he offers.

If you study his class is easy and he's a really nice guy. He describes everything really good and gives a study guide for every tests. Some parts of class can be boring (like the really old movies) but he's a great professor!

I was suprised to hear someone say that they did not learn in Thaler's class because I felt I learned a great deal from him. I have had him twice and hope to get in one more class with him before I graduate. He'a a great guy and is very interested in the subjects he teaches.

I thought this class was interesting and it was an easy A. He gives study guides for tests and all of the answers to the study guides come directly from the notes he gives. As long as you study (or memorize) the study guide you should have a very easy A on every test, plus you get to drop your lowest test grade. I recommend taking him.

Tests are pretty easy, just use his study guide, and you will get an A on it. Lets you drop a previous test with the final or you can opt out of taking teh final all together. Attendance is worth points, and he will take it again if he sees students leave. Overall really easy, and I would take him again if I had the chance.

Professor Thaler is an extremely intelligent man. He obviously loves what he teaches, and he spreads his enthusiasm to his students (the ones that WANT to learn). I would take a class from him again in a second.

I have an A and not once have I opened the book. Tests are exactly like the study guide. If you don't get an A, then you shouldn't be in college. It's easy and interesting,yet you still come out of the class with a lot of information. He knows what he is talking about. I plan on taking more of his classes in the future.

Having a book that can be used and referred to would have been helpful. Statistics for Dummies just did not work for me.

Absolutely one of the best instructors I've had to this date. Although his class is a bit draggy, he enlightens it with lots of examples and stories to help his students understand. Very easy to pass tests, as all the answers are right in front of you on paper (notes). This instructor is highly recommended

The material was kind of hard. But he gave you a study guide like a week in advance of exactly what will be on the test. Thaler was a cool professor. 76% will give u a B-. And u get like 115 attendance points.

easy prof, helpful and interested in what he's teaching. kind of forgetful, which can be an advantage at times.

Thaler is one of the best profs. He goes through everything in class (just take notes, you don't really have to read the book) and then gives you a study guide that is almost the same as the tests. Very easy and interesting lectures. He gives you the option to drop a test or not take the final. He is very anal about spelling (only lose a few pts.).

He's an awesomely easy professor. He will always give you a review guide before the test, if you memorize everything on it, you'll get an A. His lectures aren't the most boring, but they're not exactly exciting. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a basic sociology class.

Prof. Thaler was the easiest teacher I have ever had. If you study to study guide you will get a A. His tests are the study guides. Dont buy the textbook... I never opened mine and I got a A on every exam. You dont need it. Take his class.

Funny teacher,, although he lectures the entire class and constantly make you take notes and watch movies hes a wonderful teacher. Test are given a week after he gives you a study guide with EVERYTHING that will be on the test. It may get boring sometimes but as long as you take notes and do well on the test you'll pass the class. I recommend this

Don't get the book; you can do fine without it. Go to every class and take notes. Do the study guide and memorize it. If you do this and take note on the videos he shows you are guaranteed an A in the class. Don't expect class to be interactive. He will sign loads of override slips. Easy, nice prof... I would take him for any class.

He really doesn't do anything in class but talk on and on about the notes. But the only thing that counts anyways are the exams and his reviews he gives have all the questions on them.

Real nice guy. You won't need your text book. You'll watch a lot of movies. Take one page of notes on them and then they will be collected after each exam. Hands out review sheets that are almost identical to the exams Q's but you have to find the answers (easy). Exams: MC, write the word of the given definition, 2 short essays. I would take again.

Professor Thaler gives you a study guide a week before every exam. The study guide is nearly identical to the exam. No papers, nothing challenging. Take him if you want an A.
