Dr. Thornton is the best professor I have had at GPC. Like others will say, his tests are a bit tricky. Yet,a challenge is good for everyone. He is wonderful at explaining the most complicated concepts. His personality is hilarious.

By far one of the best professors I have had at GPC. I went into this class dreading Biology and came out loving it. He made everything interesting. Study his notes for your test and pay attention in class and you should do very well.

He's a great teacher in every way possible. He makes bacteria and other microganisms come to life in ways unimaginable.

I thought he was a wonderful teacher. I learned a lot in his class. He is very interesting and keeps things alive. Make sure you study for the tests/quizzes or you won't pass. His lab is excellent too. He really knows his stuff and puts it in a way that's easy for his students to understand.

He is a great teacher. Easy A if you come to class and study notes before exam. Disease project is easy. He is funny and easy to get along with.

Great teacher. Very helpful, straight forward. Keep up with the reading and knowing laboratory explanations for diseases. ONe of the most helpful teachers at GPC.

He is my Favorite professor at GPC!! You should Definitely take him!! He's Really funny, and makes bacteria interesting, something I didn't think possible. He's Always willing to help, and his tests/quizzes are easy as long as you keep up with the notes and Study detail.

Excellent instructor. Too often when a professor reaches the doctorate level they seem to lose the ability to actually teach. Not the case here...great instructor who has the talent of making you enjoy learning. Two thumbs up!

Dr. Thornton is absolutely the best instructor I've ever had. His dry humor is refreshing, and his class is a blast. He somehow makes the topics he teaches crystal clear. Not an easy A, but a little work will get you a long way.

Dr. Thorton is such a nice guy! He is very helpful with his notes and he tries to make the class as interesting as it can be. His quizzes aren't hard, but you do need to study. He will help you in any way that he can but you still need to do your part as a student. Overall, he's a great guy!

If someone thinks that Dr. Thorton is a bad teacher..then they are just plain lazy and dont need to be in the medical field anyway. He is an awsome professor and explains things very clearly. He cares about his students and makes the subject as interesting as possible! Def. recommend!!

Dr. Thornton is not a lecturer, he's a TEACHER! Even when he teaches what you already know, its still interesting. He demonstrates every procedure and gives notes on what is needed for exams. I didn't think I would enjoy micro, but this was my favorite lab. If I get anything less than an A from his lab, I could only blame myself.

Dr. Thornton is easily the best professor I've ever had. He actually wants you to learn and enjoy the topic. I did both in his class. He has a funny sense of humor, which makes his lectures easy to sit through. His tests are directly from his lecture notes. Fantastic class, and an awesome teacher. Great prof. Definately makes a dull subject really interesting. I never thought Id like to learn about bacteria. Tests come from lecture mainly with some book...you can usually pick up on those in class. Also, pay attention to small detail....like "where does the plague still exist?" He likes those kind of Q.

He is a He explains everything clearly and makes the class enjoyable with his dry humor. You will work for the grade but Dr Thornton gives you every opportunity to get an 'A' but, you will work for it. Great Class! Take him!!!!!

Dr. Thornton is the nicest guy and very helpful with his explanations. He never makes you feel stupid and shows respect to every student. He tells you what he will test you on and then does it, so there should be no surprises. He is not easy, but if you take good notes and pay attention, especially to his stories, you will do great.

Great Teacher! Explains everthing and thereis no surprise info on quizzes. He is fair and gives all the opportubity in the world to do well in the class. There is a lot of material to learn but, if you study you will get a "A". TAKE THE CLASS!

Prof. Thornton is a good teacher. I had him for 1913 lab. He makes class fun and is clear about what he wants from you regarding his midterm and final. He has no quizzes, he gives you a study format and pretty much goes by it! I would recommend him highly. I got a C but that was out of my own laziness could have made an A.

Nice guy! Tests can be hard at times depending on format he uses. Sometimes tests and lectures didn't seem to correlate. Book didn't jive with lecture at times also. Nice guy, dry sense of humor. Treats everybody with respect.

He is the best ENVS teacher at GPC. Easy quizzes, no tests except for final. Opinion editorials are easy, also. Very funny and interesting lectures! Come to class, take good notes and listen and you will do fine!

He's an excellent professor for lecture and lab - smart, witty, and respectful. He lays out the parameters early on so that you may succeed. It is clear that he enjoys teaching.

Dr Thornton definatly tailors the quizes to what is went over in class. GREAT teacher and he has to be one of the most adorable and kind individuals in the world! He really cares about what he teaches.

Mr. Thornton is a good teacher study for his quiz and test and you should pass. Would take him again.

His class is manageable if you put time into studying. His quizzes seem to come directly from your notes, but make sure to take detailed notes. Pay attention to detail because he does! Should make an A or a B.

He is great! He is very funny and breaks material down when you don't understand. It was stressful at first because of his portfolios and the test being the same day, but he worked well with our class by changing dates around for us. I wish I could take him for my Biology classes that I need.

He's great, I definitely recommend him. Plan to do the work though, there's no skating through. He's very fair and available when you have questions or need help.

Easy laid back teacher. Has a sense of humor! Never got the book and pulled an A. ALL notes are posted online! Quiz questions come from the notes and a few comments he makes in class (so show up). JUST STUDY THE NOTES NOT BOOK! Opinion Editorials are easy and he gives you the sources. Very interesting class and fun teacher!

Nice guy with a good sense of humor (although a little twisted). Not for the squeamish, he loves google pics. He give a lot of quizzes and they all come from his lectures so they can be rather obscure. Record the class if you don't take good notes. Although attendance is not mandatory, if you want to pass the quizzes, be there.

Lab Class: This class was completely disorganized! It was not difficult at all and the mid term and finals were both pretty easy but it took forever to get started and even longer to finish every lab. If you want to get in, get it done and get out, this is not the class for you. Patience is a must.

Lab: I enjoyed his lab. It can take a while to get started but he goes through and explains everything for the class. Exams are directly from his notes and if you pay attention, the class can be very easy. Highly recommended.

It takes about 1 week to get used to his class; quizzes come from ppt but also lecture so pay attention; book not needed; tells you what to expect on tests; gives you like a kajillion chances to turn certain things in; drops 2 lowest quiz grades; very knowledgeable about envs issues; friendly & helpful; loves Google images!

He is one of the best teachers because he likes what he does, he knows how to explain better way and if you need help he is always ready to help.He is very fair and he is ready to answer on all questions.He has a great sense of humor what in my opinion is very important.

Not so bad. I mean, there were some things where he seemed confused about what he was teaching, and he would put things on the test that he barely covered in class, but over all, very helpful, very clear, and a very good teacher :D

Awesome Instructor... He made the class very interesting. Book is not needed. However you do have hm on masterchemistry. He gives ppt and test are staight from ppt and his lecture.

I just finished Spring semester with Dr. Thornton. I had him for Microbiology Lecture and Lab. He is hilarious and does what he can to make the material interesting and funny. His class is not too hard but you do have to study! In lecture he gives no tests, just a quiz every other week. For his tests he does give objectives but you have to work!

Dr. Bob is the BEST! He is an excellent teacher and is hilarious to boot. You definitely have to study but you have no place taking microbiology if you are opposed to studying.

Great professor! One of the best I've had. Quizes are challenging but aren't impossible. Dr. Bob's class makes you think outside the box. Highly recommended for lab and lecture. Put in the time and this class is easy going, laid back, and very interesting. He drops 2 out of the 7 quizes and there is 1 quiz every 2 weeks. A+++

His presentation is very interesting and you will learn a lot. However, he tells you so much, it's not easy to determine what is relevant. Tests are hard and you must study, can't emphasize that enough.

THE BEST PROFESSOR AT GPC! Just come to lecture/lab and study his PowerPoints and lab manual and you will get an A. Anybody who got less than a B are just lazy because you obviously have to take this class if you're trying to be in the medical field. If you can't survive his easy class, I suggest you change your major to restaurant management.

Dr. Bob is a great teacher, he clearly loves what he does and most importantly he makes micro very interesting. It does require lots of studying and hard work. The book is not needed! Anyone that said he is not a good teacher clearly made NO effort. Micro is much better than A & P; if I had to take micro again it would be with Dr. Bob hands down!!

Hands down a great professor. Dr. Bob is very helpful. We had a quiz on powerpoints every two weeks, 1 paper and a final exam. It is not an easy class but he makes it very interesting. You have to study because the subject is hard but if you follow his powerpoints and his class instructions you can make an A.

Dr Bob is a very reasonable professor, he doesnt make you do unneccassary work, he make everything crystal clear, but you have to study, listen, and take good not in class. his class is never boring, i wish i could take him again

Dr Bob is incredible! I actually was dreading the class. He truly enjoys teaching and it makes all the difference. Tests are from power points, just pay attention and take notes. One paper only. I took him for both lecture and lab, which I highly advise.

GREAT teacher. His examples seem extreme which is helpful for memorization. Theres 7 quizzes (drops 2), 5 page research paper, hw (answers in back of book), and final. Requires a lot of study time but he's a GREAT teacher and makes it bearable.

Dr. Bob makes the class so interesting and enjoyable. study his notes and pay attention in class and you will do fine on his quizzes. If possible take him for the lab portion too. Great teacher.

Dr. Bob is awesome! I took him during the summer and I thought having to be in lecture for 3 hours would be a drag, I was wrong! He made class went by quick with his interesting stories, which made it more easy to understand every single topic. Take him!

Dr. Bob's class was awesome. I would take him again if I could. His tests are basically the things he says in lecture so take good notes. Do well on his "quizzes" which were basically tests and do well on your case study. He has really funny stories and you'll learn a lot in class.

Record him. I got an A, it wasn't easy, but it wasn't hard. He is not a professor that is out to get you, just put the work in to get the grade you want.

Dr Bob is awesome not the hardest class ever but you do have to put in the work to get the grade you want. His test are what he talks about so record lecture. Great teacher and Im not a straight A kind of student. This was for Microbiology.

Dr. Bob is pretty cool. Just make sure to take notes in class and study them. Making a quilt makes this easier. I had him for lab and lecture and they went hand in hand. Really pay attention to detail when studying for quizzes and final exam. Dont buy the book, waste of money. Get on his radar.

Dr Bob was one of the best professors I've ever had. He is engaging, tells wonderful stories that help the material stick, and makes sense. He is the reason I am now a microbiology major. Make no mistake, microbiology and public health is not an easy course, but he is not only knowledgeable, he knows how to teach.

Dr. Bob is a great and easy professor. Microbiology is a lot of content but if you skim the chapters and watch or attend all his WebEx meetings and do the review questions its an easy A. Hes super clear about grading and the assignments at easy but interesting. I would take his classes again and again he was fantastic.
