Very enthusiastic teacher! You could tell he really liked his subject matter. Extremely easy class and enjoyable. Only problem was he talked so much that class was always let out late. I would recommend the class.

Great teacher. I took the three hour class and worried that I would have a hard time staying focused, but he has a snack break in the middle and is full of energy that I didn't even noticed the clock. Class can be applied to all aspects of teaching. I used it for Sunday School. I will miss his classes.

he is very easy he just go to class and take is daily review quiz. you don't even have to do it just say you did everything he wanted you to do on the quiz he has no way of checking to see if you did what you said you did. just show up to class and say you did everything and you have a perfect score in the class

This has been my favorite New Testament class and religion class I have ever had. He teaches in a fun way and makes every class perriod go quickly. You won't regret taking his class.

I likeed him he was supper easy just say you do everything and write journal on the day and you will easily get an A in his class. If you don't care and just lie you can put minimal effort in and get an A I spent maybe 15 min for every class

Good upbeat teacher. His curriculum is lackluster. You must attend every day, write a journal entry and do a quiz after class and before midnight. If you miss just a few, your grade drops a ton. Lots of extra credit but doesn't help much.

If you want a true BYU-Idaho experience, you have to take a class from Brother Wahlquist - your experience here isn't the same without him. You sing 2 hymns each class period and he plays around with them to make it really fun. He's hilarious and spiritual at the same time and makes your day great. He is the best teacher ever!!!

Best teacher ever! My favorite class for the entire semester. He'll point a sword at you one day, and bare his testimony the next, either way you are hooked the entire lesson. I hope to take another one of his classes again soon. Just show up and do your journal every class day, easy A. If you forget one day, let him know and he'll add it for you.

Brother Wahlquist is an excellent example of what every CES teacher hopes to achieve. His teaching is incredible. Assignments are very doable. Online quizzes weekly, a midterm and final paper. My favorite religion class. Just make sure you don't miss class because if you miss 4 times, you fail.

Most amazing professor. I'm arraning my schedule just so I can have him again. He hits a home run with the material everyday. I always felt so spiritually revitalized when I walked out of his classroom. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Brother Wahlquist is an absolute stud. This is my 3rd semester having him and he's by far the best teacher I've ever had. Even if you take him in the morning you'll never fall asleep he's super entertaining and funny, but he also knows when to be spiritual and bring the spirit into the classroom. Awesome teacher!

AMAZING TEACHER! He is so prepared for class every day with exactly what he wants to teach. I had him for an 8am class for an hour and a half, and the time always flew by! Impossible to fall asleep in his classes cuz he is so interesting and entertaining. Requires two papers(mainly testimony based) and weekly reports of what you learned.

Brother Wahlquist is an amazing person and an even better teacher. He helped me prepare so well for my mission, and his lessons are so good. He is such a funny and nice guy, and he tells the craziest stories. If you want to have an incredible BYU-Idaho experience, take him for sure!

Brother Wahlquist is a remarkable man! I was a bit apprehensive about taking an Old Testament class because it just seemed like boring irrelevant scripture. I was so wrong and Bro Wahlquist taught me that! This man always has the Spirit with him and only teaches as he is guided. I love him! Everyone should take him!

I love Bro. Wahlquist, he is a wonderful professor. He makes things fun and interesting. I would highly recommend him. It's nice because he believes that your religion classes should not be your hardest class. Because he doesn't assign a lot of homework he does expect you to come to class on time and participate in the discussion.

I loved this teacher. He strengthened my testimony so much. I'm taking all the religion classes that I can from him. He finds things that my seminary teachers and Sunday school teachers never covered. The homework isn't hard at all. It's based on the honor code and your reading. No final or midterm. There is a project, but it's pretty much a talk.

Taken 4/5 classes he offers and plan on the last. That should say enough about him. Funny, spiritual & real. Class is easy as it should be bc it's religion. Expects 100% attendance, participation & reading-all good & easy things. Helped strengthen my testimony & knowledge of scriptures since my first semester. He even gave me a blessing once! haha

Bro. Wahlquist class was super interesting. Never missed a class and he made New Testament super fun to learn. No test but just weekly assignments. Will definitely take his class again. He teaches doctrine with a lot of excitement.

I had Brother Wahlquist's class from 8-10 in the morning, but never once had the feeling of falling asleep. I was so entertained by his enthusiasm in the gospel; it was contagious! He really gets his students to think about what is important. He loves his job, the gospel, and cares for his students. I would recommend his class to anyone.

I took it as a block class so there was a rushed time frame, probably because of that, there was a ton to read in a very short amount of time. He is a great teacher, keeps you awake and active. Great guy, follow the expectations and easy A.

I've never rated a professor on here, and I'm pretty close to graduating, but I had to chime in about Bro. Wahlquist - he 's fantastic. This is the second class I've had from him, and I'll be taking a third next semester. His energy and humor are awesome - but he also really knows his stuff. I've learned a lot and look forward to every class.

Brother Wahlquist changed my view of BYU-I religion classes. I have taken 4 out of 6 from him and wish I would have taken 6 out of 6. He is such an amazing teacher who is lead by the spirit. He doesn't believe in grading you based on tests, instead he grades you on a daily journal type system. It isn't hard but provides amazing results!

This is by far the best class I have ever taken. He has so many insights that really help. I would take all the religion classes that Brother Wahlquist teaches. His assignments are not hard although they do require some thinking. You learn so mush from him and his classes.

I wish I could take Brother Wahlquist for of my religion classes! He is a great professor and I learned so much about the Book of Mormon from this class! He is so funny and all of his classes are interesting. You just have to read a few verses in the scriptures before class and then write a daily report after class.

He has the strongest testimony of anyone I've ever met, and he teaches with such enthusiasm that the spirit is contagious; I came into this class with a VERY weak testimony and am going to leave with a crazy strong one. Most of the work is just reading talks (there are a lot). No tests. SO worth it. By FAR my favorite religion class. It's fun, too!

Lots of people are saying that it's an "easy A" and it is... but it is one of the classes you will never leave without learning something and never forgetting it. Sometimes you think you've got the gospel down and you know it well enough, but Bro Wahlquist really makes it come to life mean something.

Brother Wahlquist is phenomenal. He makes you laugh, he makes you cry, and he gives you a deeper understanding and love for the scriptures. When you walk in the classroom you can feel his excitement about what he teaches. I absolutely loved going to his classes and always left feeling so uplifted. He is the religion professor you want. Brother Wahlquist brings a spirit to the room that cannot be matched. He has such enthusiasm about the gospel that it inspires you to read with more vigor. No tests, just a paper written at the end of the semester, that is basically a church talk. All you have to do to pass is come to class and participate. LOVE HIM.

This was one of my favorite courses and favorite teachers that I have ever interacted with in my college career on this campus. He made the topic interesting, applicable, and worth while. I loved it and would recommend it to anyone. There was the perfecta amount of prep work and no tests. Just after class quizes that are easy.

Let's just say that the fact that a religion teacher can keep my attention for two straight hours that is amazing, nobody can keep my attention for that long, let alone a religion teacher. Brother Wahlquist knows his stuff. You can tell he loves what he's teaching you and has put so much work into what he is teaching. What a great teacher!

He really loves his subject and goes above and beyond the requirements. He would post up videos with his testimony and make me excited to learn about the next week's subject. He wants you to succeed, gives great feedback, and wants you to really participate in his class. I took his class online and if you do the posts you'll do just fine.

BEST religion teacher here at byu-i. No homework just reading and a self report after class. He has so much energy and love for his students and his passion really shows. No tests either it is just a case of going to class and participating and you will get an easy A. TAKE WAHLQUIST. He also has an ice rink that students can use in winter!

Brother Wahlquist is an amazing religion teacher. He can be quite loud and a little too enthusiastic but he is fun and gets you excited about religion. He gives really good lectures and definitely knows what he is talking about. Attendance is extremely important in his class and also participating at least once every class to get full points.

No tests just readings (3 conference talks per class) and self assessment quizzes w/short questions (about 150 words). Easy 10 hour semester project (on like prayer). Can miss two days w/o hurting grade. Participation is just raising hand for prayers

Brother Wahlquist is hilarious. He climbed on the piano a few times to emphasize his point. Really knows his stuff, wants to help each student fully understand the class and the BoM. I would take him for every religion class, he's amazing.

This was a nice easy class. The topics are different and cool. There is a pre class assignment and after class quiz each time but they are really easy!

Very entertaining! Super Funny! The only textbook is the scriptures. The only main assignments you have are quick responses after each class. If you have 100% attendance, no need to take the final. He is honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. He does enforce honor/dress code. Also no electronics allowed-totally worth it!

Brother Wahlquist is AMAZING! Honestly I learned so much from that class. All the homework was is basically taking a quiz and answering some questions online. If you came to class everyday then you will not have to take the final which is really nice! Definitely will be taking a class with him again. Only thing is no phones allowed.

Amazing. He calls himself the "easiest professor on campus" and he really is. But he's not easy because you don't do anything, but because if you have perfect attendance, you don't have to submit a final paper. You will want to go to every class. He's so inspirational and funny. Sometimes he says things that are a little iffy but so knowledgeable.

Brother Wahlquist is an amazing religion professor. There is assigned reading for every class but it is always good stuff. His focus is to help his students build their testimonies of Jesus Christ so he's not trying to fail anyone. If you show up to class ready to learn about our Savior you'll do well.

The first class I was really taken aback by how loud Bro. Wahlquist is, but once I got used to it I realized how inspirational he is. He makes jokes, but still keeps the spirit in the room. I have never had such a great religion professor. He cares so much about the students it is easy to confide in him and ask for help.

Take this class if you need a humanities credit. I learned so much about Pakistan! The class textbook is "I am Malala" which is such a good read. Class-prep inlcudes reading and a quiz and there are post class quizzes which he gives you the answers to in class. Oral presentation (handed in online) and 2 group projects. Easy and inspirational class.

Probably my favorite religion teacher to date. Very knowledgeable about church doctrine, and answers all questions with a scripture or quote from a general authority.

Brother Wahlquist is a great person and a wonderful teacher. He really does teach in a way that encourages self reflection and improvement. He is clearly passionate. With that said, he has some quirks that may not be right everyone. He has a tendency to shout when he gets fired up and it may feel a bit jarring in a religion class. Otherwise, solid.

I really liked Bro. Wahlquist's class Jesus Christ Everlasting Gospel. My testimony of Christ strengthened tremendously and I could feel the Spirit so strongly each class. He doesn't just tell you what he thinks, he shows you scriptural references to prove his points. He is so energetic, funny, and spiritual all in one person. Definitely recommend.

My favorite religion professor I have ever had! He's great, teaches from the scriptures and really built my testimony. No busy work involved, just quizzes and a few essay questions after each class. Attendence counts but it was no problem for me to go since it was just a great class to be in.

He is very enthusiastic and loves what he teaches. He will change your mind on a lot of concepts and challenge you to be better and to do better. He wants you to improve and genuinely cares for you. There is a lot of reading to do so you have to stay on top of that.

Brother Wahlquist is a great teacher (even over zoom). He is very engaging during class and really values what you have to say. He gives good feedback on assignments, knows his way around canvas, and answers emails quickly. If you attend every class and just complete the homework/ required assignments on time you can easily get an A.

Robert Wahlquist was one of my favorite professors. He is a great teacher and really cares about his students. If you do the work, it's not a difficult class. Also he was pretty funny.

Brother Wahlquist is AMAZING!! He's a great teacher because he's truly excited about the gospel. He has about four hours of homework each week (read scripture and a talk), and you have to hold a 10 minute mini-lesson with someone twice a week.

Always responds quickly to emails/canvas messages and is very kind and understanding. Syllabus/course setup was very confusing at first but it got better.

Bro Wahlquist is amazing! He is super caring, very passionate about the gospel, and I learned so much. Second time taking a class from him. The class is super easy, basically show up and participate at least once per class and take a couple short quizzes right after. Then there's a couple scattered assignments, but not bad at all.

There is a lot of reading and some writing, but overall it was an amazing introduction to material I had never studied. Brother Wahlquist cares about his students and wants them to feel like they are in a place where they are doing collegiate level work and studying something religious at the same time. WORTH IT!

Enthusiastic and hilarious when he teaches. There is a lot of work but its not difficult. Hes great at keeping you awake and attentive in class.

I love this man! I feel the spirit so strongly in every single class. He is enthusiastic and excited but also really cares about the gospel and invites the spirit. He talks at 200 mph, so I understand why people could think he's being rude, but thats just how he is. He gives a lot of busy work but I really enjoyed his class and his teaching.

Brother Walquist is amazing! He is so interactive and fun. The class was never boring to me. There was a lot of reading and the assignments occasionally were lengthy but nothing you can't handle. Not a tough grader in my opinion. I kept a 99 the entire semester.

Brother Wahlquist is truly a real gem; I looked forward to every class with him, his love for the gospel and his ability to convey that to his students is remarkable. A true teacher. Cares about his students, makes the effort to get to know them. At the end of it all, what you will get out of Institute and life itself what you are willing put in.

Brother Wahlquist is amazing. He is so funny and he brings the spirit to class so well. You can tell he really cares about you, and he really loves God and Jesus Christ. He can be a little crazy, but in a good way! He'll jump on the piano to demonstrate and he gets pretty loud but it's always good. He's just the best.

Brother Wahlquist was amazing! For the Eternal Families class we did have to get a book and do some pre-reading from the talks and scriptures but wasn't a heavy load of it! The class discussions are always great and enjoyable! He really makes learning fun! I even had him for Jesus Everlasting Gospel and it also has been amazing!

Brother Wahlquist is such a good teacher and makes class exciting. He never lets it go boring and I am always excited to go to his class. Homework is easy, it's a self graded attendance, but he also passes around an attendance sheet during class. The only other homework is based on what you learned that day, so take notes! Notes are not mandatory.

Brother Wahlquist was very a very knowledgeable a caring teacher. For the class, I had to write plenty of write-ups on conference talks, apostles, teaching others, etc. At the end of the semester, there is a big project worth a ton of points, but he breaks it down for you. He accepts late work, but will give a penalty for it.

I have taken three of Brother Wahlquist's classes and have loved each one! He often will stand on the piano to prove a point and makes connections that help me deepen my understanding and testimony. I learn so much every class! Attendance and participation are mandatory but do that and the prep work and you should be good!

Brother Wahlquist was amazing, I had a very early class and he always woke us up with his happy loud voice. Yet the spirit was always there during the lessons. If you read the material prior to class you would really enjoy and understand the class well. Attendance is mandatory.

I absolutely loved this class, not only were the lessons great but also the readings he assigned. He didn't ask us to read a whole lot but specific conference talks prior to class to invite the spirit and be more prepared.

Brother Wahlquist is the BEST religion teacher at BYU-I! I have taken three classes from Brother Wahlquist, and I would love to take more classes from him. He is engaged with the material. Brother Wahlquist is a great guy. He's very nice, and is accessible outside of class which is super awesome. The only downside is that he gives way too much homework. I do more homework in this class than in any of my other classes combined. If he didn't give out so much homework, I would take him again.

Loved this online class! The readings actually felt beneficial, and I didn't feel like I was completing busy-work which I often feel with religion classes.

I was in Brother Wahlquist's Eternal Families class this past semester. I had a great time in his class! He teaches with such enthusiasm and passion. There is a lot of homework and reading for this class though. I would definitely take his class again. He is not a tough grader, which is nice. I would give his class a 9.5/10.

Brother Wahlquist is so great! I had a 7:45 am class with him and he kept me awake with his energy. I felt the spirit a lot in his class and absolutley loved how he taught. Make sure you show up to class and have perfect attendance so you dont have to do the final, but if you miss a day because you were sick he will understand and let you make up!

Brother Wahlquist is a great professor and a very animated teacher in class.If you're introverted this class might not be for you because he often calls on and talks to everyone and will make you share if he thinks you have something to say. He is a sweet professor and is very knowledgable but assigns way too much busy work for a religion class imo

The only thing I would change about this is everything is put into announcements. So the announcements end up being 5 miles long. Brother Wahlquist is great, he gives amazing feedback, allows you to re-turn things in, and pretty much gives you the answers for the final exam. This was a great class. Just read the announcement, and you'll be set!!!

Brother Wahlquist is a good teacher, every energetic! Sometimes he ends up on top of the piano. But you can tell he knows what he is teaching. The only reason I would not take him again is you have to do a quiz after every class that has 6 long word answers. They are the same questions every time and range from 50-200 words minimum.

Brother Wahlquist is so funny and is very inspiring. He brings the spirit to class so strongly, but in a light-hearted way. I genuinely enjoyed listening to him teach and I would definitely recommend him!

Brother Wahlquist is an excellent religion teacher!! He always focuses on Jesus Christ as the bigger picture and helps us feel the spirit at special moments of the lesson. Assignments are graded generously. Attendance is mandatory, however, given his lectures, I would find it difficult not to attend his class anyway!!

There are 2 short writing assignment each week. If you go to every class he doesn't make you write the final paper, he let's you make up 3 absences. A few scripts and talks to read before class. Great if you want a spiritual class without tons of homework. He is pretty loud so early class is a trip. He'll def wake you up tho.

Bro Wahlquist is a wonderful teacher. He is positive, uplifting, and helps us to truly understand the topics we are learning. He tells fun and funny stories to engage students. I can't recommend him enough for Eternal Families. Also, he has a home made ice rink in the winter.

Class was overall pretty easy. He's pretty old school, no technology allowed in the class. Assignments aren't bad, just make sure you take notes from class. That will make them a lot easier.

Brother Wahlquist has good lectures and knows a lot about the topic. Fair amount of reading (though not an even distribution throughout the course). Two assignments due the night of each class - one of which is a handful of essay questions that typically took me 2-4 hours/week. Miss a class and you have to write a 3000 word essay or drop 2 grades.

Lots and Lots of Work. There will be about 800 word essays to type per class period, due at midnight. However, he is a powerful teacher, really funny, enthusiastic about the gospel. A little more exacting than most religion courses, but it's a really good course.

I have taken classes from Brother Wahlquist many times and each time is great! No matter the couse content he always teaches it very well. I would recommend him for any Religion class.

Bro Wahlquist was great. Gives amazing feedback and lets you resubmit assignments. There was one time when I misread the instructions and he didn't even dock me points for it, he just gave me a warning and said if it happens again he'll take points away. Only complaint is the course itself should be 3 credits with how much you gotta do

Literally an amazing professor. So animated, passionate and crazy optimistic. You can tell he loves teaching. Brother Wahlquist is really empathetic and wants to help his students understand the gospel better. Loved this class.

I love his teaching style and energy. His class is spiritual, inspirational, easy, and lively.

He's a great man and super energetic lecturer. In class is easy and you just need to show up. His homework outside of class is tedious and time consuming, but it's very easy. If you get into the routine and stay in it, it's an easy A. If you don't, he won't be super generous with second chances.

He is very enjoyable and has high energy. There is pretty much no homework, the only homework being the attendance quizzes and the papers that were written by AI. If you want a class where you do practically nothing, take this one.

The class required about 30 to 60 minutes of writing after each session, but the 7:45 am lectures were fun and engaging. Although many lessons strayed from the eternal family doctrine, they were always spiritually uplifting. I loved his teaching style.

I loved this teacher and his class. He's very personable and caring to his students. Yes, participation matters but it's pretty easy. He has a Q/A assignment after very class to make sure you paid attention and participated. We study from the scriptures and recent conference talks. Overall a very inspiring class.

Brother Wahlquist teaches his religion classes in a very straightforward way. He makes the topics easy to understand and has so much fun teaching. You never get to enter or leave class without a handshake and seeing his smile! He loves showing the Holy Ghost that we're ready to learn by being willing to share our thoughts and participating.

Brother Wahlquist gave me a new perspective on Faith, and Jesus Christ. As a newly converted member of the church, he was easy ti understand and very inspiring in his lectures, he is very welcome to answer any questions you have regarding your beliefs. Brother Wahlquist is hilarious and energetic. I loved his classes, but there were a lot of pre- and post-class assignments. There was a lot of writing, which wasn't too bad, but some of the questions felt very repetitive. Other than that, he is a fantastic teacher and has taught me a lot about the Spirit. (He will definitely stand on the piano).

He's so high energy it's kinda crazy. I think he takes adderall lol. But he's the best. If you want a good laugh while also learning stuff in class, do it. Be aware, he's very blunt and just says what comes to his mind, very loudly

Brother Wahlquist is awesome! He loves his students. He gives daily quizzes with essay questions participation, but if you do your homework and come to class every day, you dont have to do the final paper.

Brother Wahlquist was an incredible religion teacher. He was so energetic and even at 9 in the morning was up and jumping on pianos. H even brought snacks to class sometimes and always backed up his teachings with scriptures and prophets words.
