Great Teacher, Dont agree with views but really good teacher.
Good teacher, good story teller. He had hard test, but if you came to class everyday and paid attention an A is easy to get.
Amazing mind and man. First I realized he was the best teacher I had ever had, than the best man i had ever met. My role model.
Williams is an excellent teacher. He's the best I've had. He makes the class interesting and you always look forward to what he has to say. Make sure you come to class everytime, because you can miss out on a lot of info. Make note cards and an A is achievable.
great
great teacher...make sure you dont miss a class though because its really hard to catch up...take good notes and pay attention and its not so bad...he really knows his stuff though

Dr. Williams was an ok teacher, I didn't agree with his views and he often came off as a know it all and wasn't afraid to show it.
Don't expect to learn much about psychology. Refuses to tie material to real life (every answer is somehow tied to football). Presents personal views as facts. Treats students like idiots who need to have material dumbed down. Does tell some entertaining stories though.
Treated us like children, if you weren't there on time you were locked out of the classroom until he said you could come in! Had to buy a book that he wrote which had nothing to do with Adol Psych, then couldn't return it at semester end! Copious note taking, tests were all on notes, fill in the blank; I withdrew. He sucked!
Very good teacher, taught me a lot about psychology.
The worst teacher I've ever had. I worked extremely hard in his class, took excellent notes, studied much more that you should have to for beginning psych, but he basically says you cannot get an A in his class and that he has tenure so there's nothing you can do about it. (Must be an ego thing.) I am a straight A student and have taken more imp
Most arrogant man I've met. Required us to purchase a book he authored that had nothing to do with the class. The day after the 'last day to withdraw w/o assessment' was the 1st test & the only thing graded up to that point). Test was full of inane details from personal stories to see if you wrote down all that spewed from his lips. Worst teacher.
Arrogant man, has an ego problem, he will help you if you can come in at 7:00 am only, treats students like dumb children, avoid him at all costs
Very tough Prof. Took lots of notes and studied hard but still did not do well on tests. He is very full of himself. Was not very willing to help you when needed unless you could be there at 7:00 in the morning. I thought he was hard to understand. I don't advise taking his class.
I very much enjoyed his way of teaching. It wasn't hard if you take notes and pay attention, which was easy to do because he was very animated in his teaching..never boring. He made me more interested in history.
One of the best professors I've ever had. Be prepared to write extensive notes and do not miss class if you can at all help it. From my experience he is one of the more popular teachers at maplewoods and I would reccommend him to anyone. I don't understand the amount of low ratings posted.
I really enjoyed this class- his lectures are long but very animated and interesting- i really learned a TON in this class. It was difficult though, and he is pretty arrogant at times. I would recommend it if psych is a subject that really interests you.
Long lectures and hard tests. Robert Williams was the worst techer i've ever had. I usually got A's or B's in previous courses. The tests were ridiculously hard and had large sections that you were expected to know like the back of hand. He played favorites. His lectures were hard to follow. DOESN'T USE THE BOOK!!!!
He was a wonderful teacher. I have since completed a Masters and he is still the best lecturer I have had. Also incredibly nice outside of the classroom. And not that it matters but this guy is in his 40s and when I played football at Maple Woods a couple of times on the weekends he threw with laser accuracy.
tHIS WAS HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE GREATEST TEACHERS I HAVE EVER HAD. i DONT UNDERSTAND ALL OF THE BAD RATINGS.
If you can understand what he is talking about you may be able to pass the class. The man is a genius...but all's he does is lecture the whole class period, no tape recorders allowed..you just have to write down what he says. You have to study very hard to get an averge grade...I would not recommend taking this class.
Dr. Bob was one one the greatest teachers I have ever had. He was very enthuastic about the subject and that made attending class very interesting and fun. He knew what he was talking about in taught it to the class in a way that we could all relate to.
he is a very entertaining teacher and makes class time interesting by being very animated. on the other hand he made it known at the beginning of the semester that it was VERY difficult to pass his class. he was a nice guy but a little cocky. i mean, of youre teaching a general ed class that all freshmen need to have, dont be so big headed.
Mr. Williams is the best professor I have had so far. He is very funny and can relate information to life experiences. He is very interactive and seems laid back. However, the class is not an easy one. It's not extremely difficult but it is somewhat difficult. If you do what you are asked of and pay attention, you'll make it just fine.
I thought he is a great teacher. Not much homework. Just go to class and take notes. He even gave us a handout the first day and it had everything he was going to lecture about the whole semester. Take his class, you'll enjoy it!
Dr. Williams is a highly entertaining teacher, he is very animated and class time goes quickly for this reason. He also writes the most difficult tests I have ever taken. The book is only used to write the papers do not buy it. Borrow it from someone else. He states that an "A" is achievable but I do not believe that is the case.
I hate history, but Professor Williams definitely did a GREAT job of keeping me interested. There isn't any textbook use until the end (so you MUST have it or have a friend that does), and there is a LOT of note taking. But, overall, it's worth it to take the class -- oh and make sure you study well for his tests!
Dr. Williams was an awesome teacher. I loved going to his class. His class are lectures and highly informative and important, don't miss 1. I had him for Western Civ. He really made the class enjoyable. I would recommend him to anyone. Like others had stated you don't really need to text for his test but is a must for the papers.
i have had Dr. Williams for a couples classes and he is absolutely amazing. best teacher ever. His lectures are so interesting. i would encourage others to take his class. His class will be easy as long as you go to class and take notes and pay attention. its hard not to pay attention. great prof.
Very easy class as long as you study. From the start he says study and know the objective sheet's. As long as you do that you'll ace the course. I've taken his history and psyc class and he teaches them the same way. If you like structure in your classes i highly suggest taking his course.
He is seriously my favorite teacher of all time. He has a hilarious personality, and he carries a large tobacco pipe with him for looks. His class is super structured so you always know what your learning in your notes. I rearranged my schedule so I could take him again next semester!
Human Dev: He's very funny and passionate about teaching. i did enjoy the class. if u pay attention it's very useful ifo.
Bob Williams was an interesting prof. He believed that he knew everything about the subject so there was no need for a book. He just talked and told stories and you had to write done and remember everything. Nothing to ref. back to if you missed something. I would NEVER recommend this teacher.
Dr. Williams is a brilliant teacher. The low ratings only come from those who do not like a challenge. I adore Bob, and am considering a psych in large part to his outstanding class.
Dr. Williams knows his stuff. He is upfront about how hard his class is. So if you listen to what he says you will get a good grade. Just take a lot of notes and study hard. NOT a class for a lazy student. Take this if you want to learn something useful in life
He is very interesting to listen to, but you better take good notes. I took him for three different classes and loved every one of them.
Loved Dr. Williams! He looks and acts just like Robert Williams, and this keeps his class fun. If you don't want to take notes, this class won't be for you. Every little bit of every test is directly from his notes. He didn't even use the book one time, so don't bother buying it. One tip I would have, make sure you write down examples from class!
By far the best teacher I have had. The tests are difficult but if you do not understand something he always takes time to explain it.
This is by far the most brilliant teacher I have had. He has been my favorite so far. Extremely smart and helpful. You cannot miss class. Tests are very hard and you should review your notes everynight in order to pass. Very hard teacher but you learn a lot from him!
Professor williams is a good teacher however there are a few things you should know before u sign up for his class. first the only book u have for his class is the once a future king a king auther book, dont miss class or u will regret it, write down everything he says, test are had
A regular storyteller, Williams teaches through his experiences and, sometimes, difficult to understand aphorisms. He likes what he does, though, and his stories are helpful sometimes. An interesting class with an interesting person teaching it.
smart, pithy, and frank. He makes a course that could easily be dry fun.
He is hard make no mistake. You must study and take good notes. The up side to that is we had no homework or other papers. You just had to know the material. Also make sure you turn your phones off.
Great teacher! He tells stories that make it easier to remember the history behind it. If you want an easy A, do not take his class. He doesn't tolerate people who are late, don't study, sleep, and don't attend class which I was thankful for because I wanted to learn.
class is rigorous no doubt about it, but i've never walked out of a class at the end of a semester with so much knowledge of the subject. sometimes i find myself lecturing my family and girlfriend psychology that i learned from this man. great guy, hope he's doing good.
He is probably one of the worst teachers I've ever had. After taking AP Psych in high school and LOVING it, he made the class all about himself, his experiences, his career, and his opinions of psychology, not actual psychology. Although he was entertaining at times, the way he tries to be tough about his grading is pathetic.
Best lectures ever! Every one was like story time, and I was always disappointed when class ended. However, this is also the hardest class I've ever taken. TONS of notes needed, but no homework. Every test is hard (esp. the 2nd exam) and there are 3 3pg papers due at the end. Not for slackers or the faint of heart.
You really have to know your stuff in any of Dr. Williams classes. But he is a really fun professor and easy to listen to. He isn't boring like a lot of teachers that do lecture classes.
His class is very hard. You MUST be at every single class and give him 100% because the test are hard. You have to study hard and really know the material to pass the class. He is an amazing teacher though. He's funny and tells great stories.
No textbook. No rhyme or reason to the tests. He's nice, but his tests are intentionally (and pointlessly) difficult and include things that could be gernerously described as esoterc, or accurately as pointless.
I have taken a few of his classes and he's my favorite professor EVER. Show up, take notes and prepare as he says and you'll do fine. He is a great story teller and makes things so interesting. I have TRULY learned something and had fun doing it. I would definitely recommend him!
His lectures were intersting, but nothing to refrence back to-he had his own made up vocab, terms, material content, and tests. This guy is fun if you are trying to fix a relationship or grow as a person-record his notes, even though he says you can't, I mean really-WHY?
Terrible teacher. I have a composition book full of notes follow his "note card" system and have not missed a class and I am barely passing. 4.0 student. No book usage except for 4 paper that you can only lose points on no points if they are OK -6 if they are bad. Nice guy that makes lectures interesting but tests are designed to make you fail.
This is the first class i have ever did bad in.You only have three test the whole semester and no homework. No use of text book.I studied for the test and used his note card system and still didn't do well. He does not like for you to ask questions while he is lecturing because he says he loses track of where he is at, But overall he is a nice guy.
LOVED this class. He is a great teacher, Im sorry that he doesn't teach more of the classes I need! I studied a moderate amount, took notes and passed easily. Great lectures.
Loved the history class and his lectures. Tests are difficult, must study between lectures. Very fair treatment. His lectures are smooth unlike the tests.
Fantastic teacher who really understands the information he is teaching. By far, the best professor I've ever had. Class is lecture based so if you don't know how to take fabulous notes, you'd better learn. If you are willing to put forth some effort, you will do well. Tests--need to be able to apply material not just regurgitate memorized info.
I took his class during the summer. His class is mostly lectures, he gives you an objective sheet for both the lectures and what he wants you to know out of the book. He tells you how to succeed as a student. He is a great teacher and not dependent on the internet.
Nice professor but very unhelpful. If you ask him for help after class he won't be likely to help you. His tests are hard! You may study for hours and not get a good grade. He goes off topic a lot and tells a lot of bogus stories. Doesn't use the projector or write anything on the board. Whatever you can write down is what you get.
Dr . Williams is the best prof I have ever had. He is very interesting and his materials really help you in life. You have to be responsible but if you are the class is not that hard. He is a genius and I am lucky to have had the chance to learn from him. By the way despite how smart he is he goes out of his way to never make you feel dumb.
I was not a fan of Williams. There was no text book or any references. The only thing you had were lectures. He lectured from start to finish. He is a nice guy but I would not recommend taking him!!!
His class is hard but William's said himself that it is impossible to pass his class with an "A" and I received one by taking a lot of notes, studying and attending class every day. It's all lecture and he doesn't use the required textbook. You will still need the textbook to write the papers though. Be on time or you'll wait until he lets you in.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! I had him for PSYC 243 and I failed. Your grade is only off of 3 tests (including final). There is no book and he does not use blackboard. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TAKE IT WITH SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!! Also- he does not use an email. You can only contact him through his office phone and his office hours are limited. Very inconvenient!
Test taking is extremely broad all you have to go off of is 9 pages worth of objectives and notes. There are literally hundreds of possible questions that could come from that. He recommends 15 hours at least of studying for tests and the tests are all that make up your grade. Also he doesn't use bb and doesn't give exam dates on the syllabus.
Possibly the worse professor I ever had, very hard, no text book, you can't record his lectures but you should anyway. only 3 tests thats it. you have no idea what could be on test and you his notes he provides are as disorganized as him. He comes to class with a folder filled with messy papers that he lectures from. He
Bob gave many EXAMPLES but did not really EXPLAIN the topic per se. My hand hurt a lot from writing so much notes. I never missed class. I was never late. Lectures are always fun and lively, but Bob always reminded the students the importance of hard work. If there is no motivation, MAKE MOTIVATION. He is an inspirational man. I loved his class.
PICK A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR. Seriously. He bases your grade on only 3 tests and there is so much material to study that it is kind of overwhelming. Only one person even got an A in my class.
Straight up told us on the first day of class we weren't going to do good. From that point I knew we were screwed. Very confusing. Only 3 grades, which are the exams. We do use the book however, for a small T/F section in the back of every exam. That's all. Rarely writes on the board, everythings lecture. I would STRONGLY recommend avoiding him.
Terrible. This old dude just loves telling life stories like anyone really cares, its not even a psychology class. its a life lesson class. didn't sign up for that bud. NEVER in my life have I had a teacher this bad. for the love of god, avoid this teacher at all costs unless those lectures from your granparents were super fun!
Do not take his class. He skips around and it can sometimes be confusing in lectures. He only takes 3 grades the entire semester and they are tests. He does assign a writing assignment at the end of the semester that only adds +3 onto your final. Absolute waste of time. Overall I found the class frustrating and annoying.
Gives lectures the entire time and the test is on very specific details from those lectures. I studied a lot for the first test and was confident, I took it and got a 45. You get tons of lectures and must recall %1 of that information for a test.
His lectures are long, but he makes them interesting. If you like a teacher who is funny and makes joke, then he is the man. His test are a little hard.
Professor Williams is a fantastic instructor. If you use his flash card system made specifically by him, for his class, you will get an A on almost every test. He makes class extremely interesting.
Dr. Williams is without a doubt the best instructor I have ever had. He is really caring. He is always willing to help you. But he does expect you tp learn something. I rated his classs somewhat easy because if you come to class, take notes and study the exams are simple. I have learned more from hi m than all my otehr classes combined.
Best prof I have had at Maple. Very interesting. I can't believe how much energy he has at 8 in the morning. He helps you relate material to life. This has been very helpful to me. If you take notes and come to class the tests are pretty easy. I will defintely take more of his classes. Hope to take one this summer.
Just show up and pay attention, that easy.
This guy is amazing. He is really funny and entertaining. It is fun to be in class. I made an "A" and loved every minute of it.
One of the best classes I've ever taken.
READ!! Robert Williams class was not the easiest but he gives you a chance to redeem yourself. Missing one day of lecture @ 8am I got a 64% on my first test. As most of you know he only gives 3 tests. I got A's on my last two, giving me an A in the class. NOT IMPOSSIBLE. Come to class, take notes and use quizlet to study GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY 120.
This is the first semester in college for me and I feel very lucky to have had Dr. Robert Williams. To say his lectures are amazing is not enough. They are much better than that. Somehow he makes even complex ideas so I can get them, And he best thin is that the stuff you learn really pays off for you if you apply it to your life. He is wonderful!
Attendance is the most important in his class! He lecture's all class and is very specific, show up! Literally write everything you can possibly write down! There is only 3 tests all semester one being a final. You will only use the textbook once at the end of the semester. Class is not hard if you put effort. Take good notes and study them often!
He is 5 stars!
Professor williams, was a fine professor. You will write the whole 50 mins, non stop. But notes are a must to pass his class. He takes almost everything from his notes. So don't skip and be awake and aware. Your whole grade is based on multiple choice test. The last 10 questions will come from the book. But other than that i didn't open the book
Although the lectures were very interesting and engaging, I had a lot of trouble keeping up. He would not allow the class to be recorded and you had to rely solely on your notes. He never referred to the two books we had to purchase until a week before the final where he told us we should have assumed what we should be reading. Tests were vague.
Williams is the best I have ever had. He tells you exactly what to study, amazing lectures, fair tests. Many complainers are poor students who don't take notes or don't study. If you are responsible you will love his classes, and you will have fun learning a lot. If your idea of studying for a test is 30 minutes you better take someone else,
Actually, I took several of Dr. Williams' classes many years ago and I still remember them as the very best classes I ever attended in my college career. He is a truly gifted speaker/teacher. The whole class hung onto every word. I am 60 now, but will never forget the myriad of things learned in his class. He makes you work, but it is a joy.
Great engaging lectures, but hard to keep up. He would cover 4 weeks of material then give a test on all of it. He would tell you to study it all, but tests ended up being ambiguous and not related directly to the material. Great guy, hard class.
You take notes for the entire 50 minutes. Your whole grade is based on 3 test grades which you ONLY have your notes to go over. Double however may credit hours it is and that's how many hours a week you'll have to study to get a B. The way the tests are worded are not how he explains the material. Avoid at all costs!
You take notes the entire time you're there. The way he explains things make sense to me and he almost "dumbs down" the material and gives good examples -- however his tests do not reflect that. He tells you to make note cards but by the time you're done making them for 30+ pages of notes whats the point? Avoid at all costs!
This guy is great! He is really funny and yet you learn an incredible lot. The course isn't hard unless you are lazy. Just take notes and study the objective sheet he gives you. The best professor I have had and I have been at three colleges. You learn about yourself and life.
He is a good speaker and uses metaphors and analogies to make information easier to grasp. Notes is a must in this class. Your grade depends entirely on them, He speaks at a brisk pace and is hard to keep up with at times. I write decent notes and study for a couple hours the day before a test and my grade is an 85.
Amazing teacher, brings humor into the classroom while getting his lesson across. He has inspired me to be a better student and work hard toward my goals. I highly recommend him for anyone and everyone. There are three tests, no homework, he doesn't take attendance but its best not to miss a class. Very important to take notes in this class.
I took Robert Williams' psychology (140) class. He is a GREAT teacher with a lot of experience. Lectures are very interesting; you better try to write every single word he says down. He really only puts what he taught you on the test and he also provides extra help if you need it as well. DO NOT MISS CLASS! You won't pass.
If you're an auditory learner like me, this is the teacher for you. I had his back to back History 120 and Psych 140 lectures and it was never short of entertaining. Yes, my hand was cramped by the end of class from writing, but he is truly a great speaker and the content of the lectures are thought-provoking. I will definitely sign up for more.
If you have the option to take a class with him, do it. He influenced me to change my major and I've never been more content with my career path. I leave his class everyday feeling more enlightened then when I came in. His tests are really really hard but you just have to go to class and know the material and you will be fine.
This teacher is awful! I would not choose to take him unless you're okay with taking Psyc 243 that only includes three test grades. And if he's feeling nice, maybe an extra credit paper of 6 points. He is a joke of a teacher and almost made me question my dream to teach. I had to drop out of the class. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Although his class was tough he gave multiple tips on how to pass and is very helpful if needed.
He was an amazing teacher! His lectures were very detail oriented and it made me like history even more. I'm not a good test taker to begin with so it was hard to understand how to take his tests for a while. If you follow some of the tips he gives you about studying, and try your best, you're guaranteed to do well in this class.
Is a great teacher and hope I have a chance to take him for another class in the future!
Professor Williams honestly is a very nice guy, the thing that sucks the most is the fact that he doesn't teach psychology in psychology. The last unit has nothing to with psychology and is confusing. If you do not show up and take good notes, you will fail. I hated him when I first started, but that changed. There is only 3 exams, STUDY!!!!
Professor Williams was an amazing teacher. Many are turned away from other students saying how hard of a teacher he is. Don't be fooled. They are right. But, they are wrong. There's only 3 exams but if you are determined to work for that A, you'll get it. Show up to class, it's very important that you do. And listen attentively. His advice is gold.
Prof Williams was my favorite. His class isn't hard if you come prepared to take good notes and don't miss. You only take three tests the whole semester and he offers one 10 points extra credit assignment (DO IT). He is an amazing lecturer and keeps it interesting. Just remember to keep your phone away otherwise you'll receive the "death penalty".
Loved taking his class. It was very lecture heavy, but he tells you every thing you need to know. He also has a list of everything you SHOULD know on syllabus. Almost all of the grade is based on test... so make sure you memorize the list (on syllabus) and know the examples he gave. Text book is sometimes used, but not essential. Great class!
He lectures a lot and sometimes goes off track and isn't specific about whats going to be on the test. You take 3 Exams and have 3 essays you have to turn in before final. If you study a little bit you might be lucky just to pass with a D. I didn't study that much but I passed with a D. You have to try really hard if you want an A in his class.
While he wasnt a terrible teacher, he wasnt a great teacher. He lectures all day and is hard to follow. WRITE DOWN EVERY SINGLE THING HE SAYS IN LECTURE. Many things that are on the test are things that he briefly mentions in class. It was a difficult class, but his real life explanations were great.
This class was just all over the place. None of the chapters really flowed together. He is a nice guy and a quick grader but some things just didn't make sense. He would count off and not tell you why in the notes. All around just messy. Also, be prepared to work all the time. Very time consuming.
Dr. Williams was a great instructor. He graded my work within hours and left good feedback. He could be a tough grader at times, but this was part of the fun. He knew the subject very well and wanted to help his students do well.
The class was only lectures with your only grades being 3 tests (1 of them the final). You are taking notes the whole class/ lecture or else you wont have anything to study. But he clearly outlines key ideas for you. Its a hard class but he is very passionate about the subject and the lectures were actually very enjoyable and he made them funny.
If you have ever wanted to see what a genius looks like he is your chance. Williams is mega smart. You might think you would here the same thing in any Psychology class but you won't. His insights and knowledge is way above. But he comes across very friendly and he makes it all easy to understand.
This teacher isn't like any other. He tends to lecture like he's trying to act out a movie and you must find the important things and take note. That was this whole class. Its can be fairly difficult as he doesn't slow down. However, this was an assignment, which is why I'm rating him so low: pastebin / 43X2CV5s
I think about this class almost daily, dr. Williams changed my perspective on humans and their development entirely. I learned so very much about everything from this man 10/10 would recommend.
Dr. Wiliams was an amazing teacher who had a very easy to understand lesson plan. He is very strict about the date and time for assignment but if you read the material and do your assignments, you will pass w/ A. I took 3 classes during the summer and was able to pass this class w/o even reading the material. I would have gotten an A if I read more
Professor Williams loves to take class notes and being that his class is online theres a ton of reading. His tests are random so you dont know what all its going to ask so make sure to read everything.
For his Pysc140 class, we were M-W-F but only met on Mondays. The other classes were times to read our textbooks. You have to attend every class because he doesn't put out notes or powerpoints and won't go over stuff with you if you miss. Not everything in lectures is in the textbook. About 1/3 isn't in the textbook. You're only graded on 3 tests.
This professor only lectured on Monday. It was a mon, wed, fri class and was incredibly hard to take notes from. His lectures had virtually noting to do with his exams and your entire grade came from 3 exams the entire year. No homework. So If you take his class you better be ready to teach yourself and read the book.
Dr. Williams is an amazing professor. We only had three tests, 2 from the book, 1 from enhancement lectures. The tests were 20 questions each, open note/book. I had to take a zoom class due to COVID so class may be different when its in person. But Dr. Williams is definitely passionate about what he teaches and it shows. I really enjoyed this class
Professor Williams was easily the worst teacher I've ever had. We were promised a MWF class and he only held class on Mondays. We only got 1/3 the education we were supposed to, and we were only graded on three tests. The tests are completely random and mostly things we were never taught. Get ready to teach yourself, and read the book thoroughly.
Great professor but does not allow any room for mistakes. You need a deadline that is it. Only tells the class something once and will not repeat or go over any old content. Note taking is a must for this class!!!
My whole class was failing and he was not a very good teacher and when we asked for help he said look at someone else's notes when no one has good notes.
You only get 3 exams which is cool, but if you don't take notes, you fail your tests which makes you fail the whole class because there is no other work. He has question days but he doesn't answer your questions, he just tells you to read your notes or ask somebody that has notes on that subject. It's a bit hard to do that when nobody understands.
Never responded to any questions clearly, just told us to find notes from someone else. Cussed in class quite frequently. Would never have taken the class if I had known more about him.
He rambles during lectures, which makes it difficult to take notes when it feels like he's not saying anything important. There's only 2 20 question tests then a 40 question final which means if you fail the first test you are almost guaranteed to fail. We have question days but when you ask questions he tells you to ask another student for notes.
Yeah, avoid this professor. I have had bad professors in my days, and he is one of them. Only three exams and will not giving any other assignments.
Dr. Williams is the best prof ever! He is smart and very nice. He makes learning easy. But he does expect effort. People who are lazy and don't try whine . They might fit better in grade school. If you want a college class Williams is your guy. If you try you make a good grade, learn a lot about Psychology and about life. His wisdom is priceless.
Amazing and Great! If you have the chance take him.
I think if he wasn't my professor I'd love him. Such a smart and interesting man. Just very outdated teaching style. Only 3 tests whole entire class. Only 14 questions on each test. Lectures whole class. Tells you to write down every word he says. You have to interpret him and keep up with tangents that don't make too much sense. Just a warning:(
AMAZING lectures. Hilarious, personal, etc. When he says take notes on everything, just do it. I somehow kept up but loved it. Only had to study right before tests because all info related to itself/good examples. Pretty sure he is retiring. Everyone who gave bad scores probably just didn't put in a lot of work. Take his notes, get good grade!
This class is all lectures where he tells you to write down every single thing he says. No visual aids, so it's hard to stay focused. No recording or notes on laptop. Short tests are mainly multiple choice and matching. 4 tests and 3 essays are your entire grade for the class. If you're a good note taker, you'll pass easily. If not, steer clear.
Lectures for full class length. Expected to know many stories and terms in little time for exams. Half of grade is exams, half is papers. Papers have no rubric and are graded on personal decisions and a small bullet point of requirements. Use fake names in examples to not overgeneralize. Textbook isn't used in class but definitions are on exams.
The professor's teaching is lecture and test heavy, with little room for discussion or engagement. He replaces textbooks with self-printed self-help-style sheets that confuse exam expectations. Lectures move fast and lack clarity. Extra credit comes only from his unrelated, difficult video game, making the course unnecessarily hard to succeed in.
A very lecture-heavy class, but Williams made the content very interesting and engaging! He provides you with a "cheat sheet" for everything he lectures on + what will be covered on the exam. You HAVE to take notes and be an active listener to pass. IMO, psych with him was enjoyable and an easy A :)
