Mr. Woodward is a really easy going professor he truly cares about his students. I took this class 3 times and I finally passed. He will meet with you outside of class he is just a great professor. He is really fair you put in 100 percent and he will as well. He makes math fun and I hate math i truly do. Must take!!!
super cool guy.
Rob was hands down the best math professor that I've had in college. His lectures are intelligent and flow well. He expects the best of his calc students, but make the classroom a fun environment. 10/10 would recommend. He also has great taste in music.
Rob is definitely a math-ochist. He is the hardest/one of the best math teachers i have ever taken. His tests are difficult but rewarding, and when you are done with his class you have actually learned the subject matter. Outside of class, he is very approachable about class, or really any math, material and always ready to help. 10/10 :)
Was always organized and had a set schedule. The homework went right along with what you learn in class! He was always willing to stay after class to help you on any questions or meet to help you. Also if you have any questions on homewoek and email the problem to him he will respond very quickly to help! He was an excellent teacher.
Professor Woodward is an extremely knowledgeable teacher. You can tell he loves math and he teaches it with gusto. Took his class during the summer, where the pace was blistering and he still did a great job of keeping the class up to speed. The only thing I would suggest is cutting back on the homework problems during the summer.
I like that he takes a little bit of time to build rapport with his class and individuals. He definitely knows his stuff and will take extra time in class and outside of class to make sure you understand. Exams were challenging but he gave awesome helpful study guides. Would have liked to see practice exams. Provided great extra credit opportunity
He's surprisingly a good math teacher in the Math Department. I took him for the Summer of 2018 and I'm relieved to have a teacher that's knowledgeable about Math. He's caring, helpful and willing to make you succeed if you approach him. I missed a test and he went miles to help me take the last exam before the final. Great guy and I recommend him.
Taking Statistics this semester. He is a really good professor! Has lecture notes that really help. Very knowledgeable with calculator functions. Wants to help and is very accessible after class hours. Talks fast but that's because he needs to cover so much material. I suggest recording his lectures, then re listening to them. Great teacher
Seems like he really cares and enjoys his job. This was very helpful because it seemed like he really wanted us to learn. He explained everything really clearly and his lectures were very structured. He gives you the notes so you know everything about what he will be testing on. He is pretty straightforward and willing to help outside of class.
Class was pretty tough but he made it doable. Very understanding and willing to help outside of class. He prints off notes for each chapter and goes through them in class so you don't really need the book, just an access code to do the homework. Puts up calculator tutorials so you can watch later if you missed something in class. Lots of homework.
Professor Woodward is knowledge about math and knows what he is talking about but can be very fast paced.
Professor Woodward was great. He goes fast but will back up and help you understand the content. He is available for helping after class although his tests questions build on one another. It helps to prepare you for the final. Even though this class was hard it was one of my favorites. go to class, do homework, lots of writing, pay attention.
Mr. Woodward is very knowledgeable in his teachings, he does go over the history of math which if you like that well here you go. Reviews for exams aren't really reviews he goes over the concept, won't do examples of the modules during the review, because it takes "to much time". I had to go home and reteach myself most of the time.
Professor Woodward is a great teacher! Although his exams were tougher, they prepare you well for the final so when you take it you think, hey this isnt as hard as the exams He has a great sense of humor and enjoys teaching and helping out anyway he could. I would definitely recommend his class!
Thanks for a great semester Prof. Woodward!
I really hate math and was worried about this class, but Professor Woodward was really skilled with explaining math in a way that was easy to understand. It ended up being the highest grade I got out of the five classes I took this semester. I would highly suggest Prof. Woodward.
Professor Woodward helped me feel excited to go to math class for the first time in my life. He helps make the lectures more interesting by including the history of the topics we learn and will often bring in math tools and gadgets that help the class learn visually. He truly wants to help each student and will go above and beyond to help.
BEST MATH TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD. His lectures are inspirational. The summer class goes REALLY fast. There's a ton of homework, but the tests are made from homework problems. The tests are appropriately challenging; if you want an A you have to work for it, but a B+ is easy. Go to office hours!
Robert was amazing!! He would let us know what to expect for each class period, we always printed notes for our lectures, did homework online to practice and had great reviews before exams. You had to know the information for the exams but Robert prepares you really well. I would totally take him again if I needed to take more math!
Mr. Woodward is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Statistics is a hard subject but if you show up to class every day and stay up with the homework, it is a fairly easy A. His lecture notes are very helpful and he is great at explaining things if you don't understand it. He is always willing to meet after class and help.
Professor Woodward was awesome! His tests were hard but they made the final a breeze. He was very willing to work with you in class and was flexible if you needed to meet at another time. He had awesome reviews before each test and offered extra credit for each test. If youre taking stats definitely take it from him!!!
He is a very efficient teacher. He is what every teacher should honestly resemble. He makes it really easy for me at least, to understand what he is trying to say through math. He understands the way his students think and where they may be confused, and tries to explain things so they are understandable. Very schedule flexible teacher.
Robert is a nice guy and the class is fairly organized. However, most of the lecture material doesn't line up with the homework and the book is worthless. Its hard to review concepts once you get home because he teaches really fast and doesn't give you very much time to make detailed notes. Lecture notes are premade and not very helpful.
He knows math, but goes super fast and always seemed a little put out if someone asked him to go back. I felt like I got the "well, duh" look often, so I stopped asking questions. He's got a pretty good sense of humor, but doesn't have a lot of class control, which made it hard.
Great teacher, but the math homework doesn't align with his teaching style, and makes it very hard to translate to his tests. The book is worthless, as is the homework. His tests are not multiple choice, they are always scenario which you have to apply those chapters you learned to the exam. That can be very hard if you haven't memorized the vocab
It's clear Robert really knows what he's talking about, which makes learning from him easier. He does expect different answers than what the online textbook teaches you however, which is confusing. Overall I enjoyed his class.
I usually struggle with math, but Mr. Woodward made the subject easy to understand. He would pause the class to make sure everybody was on the same page and was very accessible out of class. I felt like this class was easier than 1050 because of his teaching style.
best professor by far! statistic is hard class, but professor Woodward makes it all a breeze. very knowledgeable, understanding. pauses lectures to answer questions. very flexible, TAKE HIM, you wont regret. HE makes stats FUN.
Stats is hard, period. Yes he talks fast but it is not a personal thing, stats is just hard and there is a lot of material to cover. I've had to take stats more than once and he is hand down THE BEST stats teacher I've ever had. Big perk, he shows you how to actually use the calculator and it saves time on tests and the final.
I almost failed. Prof. Woodward helped me pass. He is my favorite Prof. at SLCC He really cares. He doesn't waste your time teaching you by hand. Its all calculator based. He explains everything in the simplest way possible. Stats are still challenging but you can pass this class. His test prepared me for the final, which was easy. Music in class.
Stats is hard, that being said he explains everything so well, go everyday and you will do fine. I struggled with this class, however Woodward is a great professor and is willing to help you out. He really cares about his students and will do anything to help you out during his office hours. TAKE HIM you won't regret it.
Do not take Mr. Woodward if you're looking for an easy A. However, if you're willing to work hard and always attend class then Mr. Woodward is a great professor. He does tend to move fast during lecture but he will ALWAYS stop to explain something in more detail, you need only ask. He is always available during office hours. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT.
Robert is a GREAT teacher! The material can be hard at times but he explains things so well and makes sure everyone understands before moving on. Definitely recommend this class if youre willing to work hard and do your work.
If you have to take statistics- take it from Prof Woodward. He explains things as clearly as possible, is helpful with questions, and has lots of calculator tutorials online. He loves what he teaches which helps even though I don't like the subject. It was math so it wasn't easy but he makes it as doable as possible.
I hate math & I've always struggled w/ it but his lectures are super helpful & my avg every time we had tests were A-'s. We had quizzes (3% of our grade) & they're used to keep you in check if you're gonna do well on the big tests (4 of them and a final). Mystatlab is tedious, but was helpful to help me get familiar w/ the course. Def recommend him
Prof. Woodward is AWESOME. I was scared going into statistics but he explains everything really well and is always willing to answer questions. He provides great feedback on your tests/assignments and sometimes gives you the chance to fix it/get credit. Its a hard class, but I think he taught it well and cares a lot. Highly recommend.
Professor Woodward is awesome. He teaches in a way that is clear and simple to understand, even for a tough class like statistics. I had been struggling in school, and going into a challenging course like statistics, I was worried. But at the beginning of the semester everything just seemed right. He is the best college prof. I've had. Excellent.
Professor Woodward was the only guy to make me understand statistics. If you are struggling with math, I highly recommend him. He will literally change your perspective on math. Such a great guy and he makes class fun.
I confess that Math 1040 Intro to Statistics is a very hard class to learn. However, Mr. Roberts really helped me understand what is statistics in a way that I couldn't imagine. Make sure you take notes and pay attention to the problems because they will help you pass the quizzes and exams. If you put the effort, you will get a decent grade.
It was nothing like the reviews stated. There is way too much homework and it didn't even help with the exams! It was my only class and glad it was as I was constantly doing HW! He is nice and available when needed but he was not the right instructor for me with this class. Also, part of your grade is based on attendance.
I've taken his classes for years. Best math professor SLCC has to offer. He's clear and concise. Math is always going to be a lot of work. If you show him you're willing to try, he will match your efforts to help you succeed. Put in the work, do the hw, ask questions in class. Take good notes!
I took this class in the summer. Lots of HW. You can pass the quizzes and prep quizzes but you have to watch his videos to fill in the notes that he gives you. If you need help he does help you via discord. The tests were hard and the homework was very time-consuming. 30 hrs+ in this class a week. with HW and for the next week. Glad I passed.
I always hated math and was terrible at it before I took this class. I was honestly just hoping to pass with a B at best. Suddenly I got in this class and felt like a genius! Best math class ever! On the first day of class, he told us that the homework and practice quizzes are hard on purpose so that the tests will be easy and it was very true.
I was honestly the worst student ever but this professor is Amazing! take him if you're looking for a professor for you math 1040 class. I fail because of may own doing but he is an easy A if you actually show up and do the work. I noticed other professors use his math videos as well so theres that.
A really amazing teacher but the work is insane. I mean W.O.W.! I taken five classes and all together had less work. I mean if you want homework everyday or go from all nighters to all mornings then go for it. This isn't a class for those who have outside lives. TRUST ME! Again, really awesome teacher though.
The video lectures make it easy to understand the material and he does a great job at explaining things. The overall structure of the course is better than any math class Ive ever had.
Mr. Woodword explains the concepts very well. He's fun and very prepared for each lesson. You get multiple tries on homework and quizzes, and (for the online class) you get to use your notes on tests and quizzes. There is a pre-lecture video to watch before each class, which I didn't like, but it was more exposure and practice with the concepts.
Mr. Woodward is definitely the best math teacher I've ever had. I couldn't have asked for someone better at explaining the coursework in a way I actually understand. He genuinely made me look forward to his classes. I'm really bummed I can't have him again for more of the math classes I need, but I would in a heartbeat if I could.
He is a Great professor! He make the material fun to learn and works with you to make sure you understand it. Jokes around a lot with Students and will go off on fun tangents before class starts.
I personally had a more difficult time in this class, due to my personal life. But it had absolutely nothing to do Mr. Woodward. Although this class has some tough concepts to get through, he tried his best to make sure everyone understands. He's very prepared. This class is a lot of work, but if you have to take this, take it with Rob. :)
His YouTube videos are amazing. If you haven't used the TI-84 calculator, he teaches how to step by step. His class time is extremely helpful. I suggest to print the lecture notes before. Everything he teaches in class is on the exams. He wants you to pass the class so showing up is very important.
I failed stats the first time I took it. This time I've gotten nearly 100% on every exam. Mr. Woodward teaches well and really helps us to understand the material. The book and workbook were free and very straight forward with exactly what you need to know for the course. Stats can be challenging but he made it not too hard. 10/10 would recommend.
Loved Professor Woodward. He loves Stats and engaged us with the material. He takes attendance but you want to show up anyway to hear him explain the material because he does a great job in lecture. He helped write the text you use in this class. He's always down to talk about music.
Hes just really good at his job. Stats is difficult but he made it easy to understand. 10/10 would recommend, homework not too difficult, creates video guides for the projects as well.
A very kind a cool teacher! He plays super cool music before class and during study times, like super cool unique. He is very helpful and explains things really well but still gives 1 on 1 help if needed.
I was very nervous going into this class but Mr. Woodward made things very smooth sailing. He uses guided lecture notes to teach the concepts and has the class complete a data project in parts throughout the semester, dont let that discourage you, he is very clear when he teaches and is always there if you have any questions. I loved his class!
Rob was one of the best math teachers I've ever had. Super genuine guy, real honest with you. If you did something wrong on your assignments he'll make sure you knew how to correctly did it.
Professor Woodward is one of the best math professors I have ever had. If you are confused or unable to grasp the material, he will help you understand it! I went from not sure if I would pass the class to getting a 91% on my final and receiving an A- overall. He has tons of resources and a great teaching method. Definitely take your math with him.
I loved Mr. Woodward! He was very patient with his students which showed that he cared about us and the subject. He was super welcoming to questions. He was very easy to get help from outside of the classroom, maximum response time like 1 hour. I personally did not think that there was more hw than needed.. it is math.
Professor Woodward is genuinely caring and wants you to pass the class. He gives good lectures were he walks you through the problems and how to solve them and the tests are very straight forward and just like the homework. He's also a fun guy who tries to make math interesting, I would take this and any other math class from him.
Great professor! I took math 1030 with him and he was amazing. Like any other math class, show up. If you pay attention youll get an A or at least a B. Super easy to understand and was clear on what we need to know. He keeps the lectures fun and fast so its not an overload of information, I would definitely take him again.
Like any other math class, it's not an easy A. Mr. Woodward allowed for lots of questions and he cared about every question asked. His teaching style is simplistic, respectable, and easy to understand. I enjoyed this class a lot. He's a reasonable test grader as well. Plenty of opportunity for you to pass.
My favorite professor! He is so kind and wants the best for every student. He is realistic in what he expects of us and meets you where you are.
Professor Woodward is an amazing professor. I really enjoyed his class and how he teaches. He goes through the chapters and explains the course material. He is really good at answering questions and doesn't mind taking extra time outside of class to answer emails to make sure you understand the material. Overall would take a class again with him.
Professor Woodward is one of the best math professors I've had at SLCC. STATS is a very tough class but Robert makes sure he is always accessible with flexible office hours and emails! He responds super fast to any questions you might have! I recommend really studying the material to understand each chapter! Highly recommend this professor!
This was the best math class I have taken. He made it very easy to understand the content of the class. The assignment weren't very hard and if you attend class and understand the lessons the tests are pretty easy. I highly recommend taking math with Robert.
He is super organized and prepared. He does a great job with the lectures, and is flexible and patient. The class itself is assignment/test heavy. If you don't keep up, you will suffer, and your nights before exams will be long. Point redemption opportunities on exams was helpful. A lot of information coming at you fast. Definitely plan to study.
Very cool guy and willing to work with me like no other. One of my favorite professors by a long shot. If I could get every class taught by him I would hahah!
I really enjoyed taking Trigonometry with Mr. Woodward. He was very nice and took care to answer everyone's questions so they could understand the topic. I felt like he had a good teaching style that made the subject very interesting and comprehensive. Overall, I would retake Mr. Woodward again because he was a good teacher and a nice guy.
Professor Woodward is rather young to be a college professor but that seems to be a great strength for him. He recommended that we give a review here since he is aware that other students will read this, which is exactly what I did before I took this class. I took a trig class from him and had a hard time but he was great at explaining the concepts
Professor Woodward is a one of a kind professor that cares a lot about his students. His no bogus approach to mathematics takes a lot of the convolution out of the subject. His lectures are Intriguing as well as entertaining, you wont find yourself falling asleep. Best math professor at SLCC, do not pass up on taking this course!
Genuinely wants his students to succeed. His class is organized so well and he goes to the ends of the earth to make your life easy. His class is laid out so well and I think he is the head of the stats department. He is so so nice and willing to help and be accessible. His class is truly not that hard if you try. I would 100% recommend taking him.
Passionate professor who makes going to class fun.
I took an irl class with him and I think that's the best way to go for his classes. Attendence is not 100% required but it definitely makes things easier if you come and listen to his lectures bc he is really good at explaining things to you. He provides you plenty of info to help you on canvas. If you don't like math, he will be your best bet.
I found the course fairly difficult with a lot of homework. Covered the subject well, but the lectures were dry and sometimes confusing. I struggled to keep up and relied heavily on a math tutor to make it through. All in all, a pretty typical math experience for me.
Super good at explaining things and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking questions you "should" know. He is very understanding. Trigonometry requires a lot of effort so there is a lot of homework, but he is very accessible outside of class, offering help all the time. He gives great feedback on tests and projects, and has extra credit makeup.
If You care about gaining knowledge while getting a good grade and having fun all at the same time. TAKE WOODWARD. I almost wanted to become a stat major, math is my least fav subject but taking it with Roberts was a different type of experience. I wish he taught all the classes requires for my major so I can take e'm all with him.
He's a really great professor! I had a lot of trouble communicating face to face but he always made sure to check on me in classes and responded to my emails within a great timeframe. Also gave cool music recs with each announcement so that was a treat. He's just a swell guy all around!
He is patient and encouraging, accessible outside of his class, always went out of his way to help us improve. Gave good feedbacks on exams. Exams were formatted for easy understanding, study guide given for each.Well organized class structure. This course helped me gain confidence on my math skills.Highly recommend Math1060 with Professor Woodward.
This was the second time taking intro to statistics, the first time with Professor Woodward, and the experiences were night and day. He explains things in such a way that you can understand it the first time around, and if you don't, he is available to help you out. He deserves the 5.3 rating;)
It's hard to find teachers who care AND clearly sets up exams that follow the material presented in class. He replied quickly to emails, made himself available to students AND worked hard to help me succeed. The class has video tutorials for most of the homework and projects assigned. This is also the FIRST time I got an A in Math, ever.
He was a teacher during my first semester !! He was amazing he responded to emails quickly and helped me so much !! He teaches the material in an amazing way and makes sure everyone understands. We did a group project and it was very simple and he had videos that explained what we needed to do which was so helpful !
The class was utterly boring. Woodward just talks and talks. He doesn't really check to make sure the class is understanding what's going on. After a point, I stopped showing up and just taught myself through Kahn Academy. Much better use of my time.
Organized, well thought out lectures and class work. The lectures he gives are insane, and for some reason I immediately understand exactly what he's talking about. Never monotone and always very focused, you can tell he knows everything he needs to and beyond. Overall an amazing teacher, I would highly recommend his class.
Easily my favorite Professor. Very patient and understanding. Class is informative and well planned. He offers a lot of extra credit and even lets you resubmit things that you messed up on. All around great guy and great class experience.
Very good professor! I honestly do not like math and never do well in my math classes but Professor Woodward teaches you in a way that you can understand, he works with you and he answers any questions you have. He is not too serious and will make jokes throughout a lecture which makes math feel a little less tense. Overall a great class and prof!
I do not like math normally, Professor Woodward almost made me want to become a math major! He teaches in a way you can understand no matter your level and you can really tell he cares! Really this is one of my favorite classes I've taken and it made me care about math again! He keeps you really interested and is all around a great guy and teacher!
Statistics is not inherently easy, but it was made much easier because Mr. Woodward was my professor. I would absolutely recommend him for any course. He and the other people in the math department have gone above and beyond to provide plentiful resources for students to use as they navigate this class. Thank you, Mr. Woodward!
Robert is kind and willing to help any student in any way. You have guided lecture notes that you do in class. If you miss class and show him your notes next class, you get those attendance points back. He lets you rework your projects to get 100%. You're allowed 1 page of notes for exams, and you have a chance to get 10 points back on every exam.
Mr. Woodward is an amazing professor! He cares about the students and will make sure you understand the material. He was relatable and never made me feel stupid for not understand a topic right away, Mr. woodward made me really like stats which is saying a lot!
This class would be hard to fail. The homework and quiz requirments are exceptional. Being able to have notes for exams. Reviews for the exams. The professor responds almost immediatly with any questions. Very accomidating. Also has available office hours. Highly recommend Mr. Woodward 10/10
Professor Woodward is absolutely amazing and this is the first math course that I didn't hate at all. Honestly the only way to fail this class is to not try. Professor Woodward really cares about his student passing and will go above and beyond to help you! One of the best professors working at SLCC hands down.
If you're looking for a STATS teacher, CHOOSE HIM! Had to retake this class and he made it 10x easier. He makes the class very manageable and I would say he almost gives you an A if you participate and work hard. Statistics is not an easy subject for me, but he made it manageable. Honestly was one of the easier classes I took this semester :))
Professor Woodward is an amazing teacher! I'd highly recommend taking his Intro to Stats course. He provides multiple study tools to help with hw & exams. The exams are straight forward and he provides great feedback on each one. Also provides weekly updates for next lectures. He grades quickly and fairly. Very good teacher.
If you are bad at math, this is the professor for you! I am bad at math and have terrible math anxiety. However, Professor Woodward made the class fun and gives you plenty of opportunities to resubmit your projects after feedback. He responds quickly to emails and is always willing to meet if you need additional help. I loved the class!
He is passionate about what he teaches and it is his in class lectures are engaging and informative, he was always willing to help.
The course has too many topics but the teacher is willing to answer questions and help. Math is always about keep the track and don't abandon it! or you'll miss assignments and quizzes and be confused during classes.
He is an amazing teacher! He cares about his class/students to the point where he goes out of his way to help his students understand the lectures. Professor Woodward is a fast grader! Almost all of the exams were graded the next day or within the week. Homework is self-graded. This course is very lil computation but more comprehensive based.
Robert Woodward is one of the best math professors I have ever had. He makes the subjects you learn in class understandable and helps you throughout the semester. There is a five-part project that he gives excellent feedback on in every part and there are video tutorials if you need help with them too. He puts in effort and you can clearly see it.
I was not looking forward to taking this class, but it ended up being my favorite class of the semester. I am still not in love with Trigonometry, but I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. Professor Woodward was quick to respond to emails, graded things very quickly, and was available outside of class. I hope to take another class from him.
He is super awesome if you are struggling he will take the time to help and he will reply to emails sooo fast. He also grades things wicked fast. super nice and great at teaching. Lowkey i hate math and didn't pay attention lol, but it was really easy to pass with an A- without even paying attention. He does count attendance toward your grade.
He wants his students to succeed take him.
Teaches like he is reviewing the material and not like if he is teaching new material to new students. He calls you out if you miss one homework, without pulling you aside to check up on you.
Possibly the best math professor you can ask for. He's very lenient and incredibly organized. His teaching ability is on another level. He explained difficult concepts very easily and always helped us out if we ever needed it. He checks up on you if he notices you're struggling, and his feedback is unmatched. I highly recommend Professor Woodward.
Not an easy A but Mr. Woodward really cares about you getting the concepts and takes time, office hours and after class, to meet with you so that you are not falling behind. He gives multiple opportunities to attempt homework until the very last class so you can improve your grade and skills.
I really enjoyed learning from Professor Woodward. He really cares to help you learn and you can tell he is passionate about what he is talking about. I would take all my math and physics classes from him if I could, plus he has funny jokes :)
Difficult class but Mr. Woodward gives you every opportunity to get a good grade if you are willing to put in the work. A lot of time spent on homework, dont get behind! very knowledgeable and takes pride in what he is teaching and in doing things correctly. Grades quickly and gives feedback. I highly recommend you take his class.
I loved the way he taught trig. Everything was very organized and he explained everything clearly and in a way that was easy to understand. If you're struggling with any of the concepts, he is always willing and available to help you out either through email or his office hours. I would definitely take another math class with him!
This guy's the real deal, if there ever was an exemplary professor, this guy's the guy. Professional, courteous, silly, but serious about math. If I had enough time in my schedule I would have gotten a better grade, it was not Woodward's fault, but my own.
Not ADHD friendly, had to drop the class because I was confused from the moment he started teaching. Do not take this class if you are neurodivergent, find a different professor
Mr W is a great professor! Difficult class, repeated this course and took it with Mr W both times. He's great at what he does! Very prepared, good lectures, and good notes.
Professor Woodward is an extremely diligent teacher. He has a Youtube channel which covers lecture by lecture giving you everything you need to succeed. Although he takes participation points, you technically don't even have to go to class with his stellar Youtube channel. I would HIGHLY recommend taking professor Woodward.
Seemed as he was only reviewing the new homework and not actually teaching, Was very difficult to keep up since he was zooming past notes and expecting you to know it right away, tests are heavy for grading.
I was scared to take this class but this professor makes Statistics so easy. He offers a lot of extra credits in each exam. There is only one project and he accepts resubmissions until the end of semester. Quizzes and homework have unlimited attempts. If you go to class and pay attention to his lectures you will easily get an A. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
He is very easy to talk to and tries his best to work with you. Math can be a very hard subject for some and he does his best to make it easier.
Great professor, clear lectures and concepts on sections. Always is available to provide assistance, questions and feedback on homework/tests. This was a hard semester for me due to personal matters and Woodward was very understanding and encouraging person to help me pass this class. Definitely need to stay on top of homework and study for exams.
Mr Woodward was easily the best math teacher I have had in years, I struggled a lot with math in the past and he made this class so easy to understand. Tests were relatively easy (you get a full review sheet) and he does a review in class. Would recommend him to anyone who has to take stats.
If you are able to take any course from him, DO IT! He honestly is the best and I loved his layout for class. Very accessible and wants to help you succeed. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you want a good grade go to class. Very flexible and will work with you outside class hours if needed. Take him! :)
By far one of the best math professors ever! He was very clear when explaining each module and always offered reinforcement topics (extra credit) after an exam. I highly recommend taking any math class with Robert. He is also hilarious! I 10/10 recommend and I would definitely take him for any future math courses!
Woodward is super charismatic and explained trig concepts very clearly. We were able to get points back on each exam thru a "reinforcement topic" on each following test which was really helpful. Overall I really enjoyed his class and wished he taught more of the higher math classes!
Prof. Woodward was incredibly accommodating. He clearly cares for his students and has helped me every step of the way. The way he teaches makes the material easy to understand. The test make up a majority of your grade however they are reasonably difficult, as long as you study the concepts you'll likely pass.
Professor Woodward is honestly who you want to teach you Math 1040. So easy going and his teaching methods are easy to follow. If you study you will pass. He lets you take notes for every exam and he gives reinforcement topics to up your grade. Tbh, failing this course is a personal choice.
This Prof is by far the best! His style of teaching makes learning stats easy. He gives plenty of opportunities to make up for missed days and exam subjects that need reinforcement. He is kind and answers questions without making you feel stupid. 10/10 recommend !!!
I had Mr Woodward for my 1060 math class and he was incredible. The lectures were clear and informative. For homework que.
Robert Woodward is the best math teacher that I have ever had. He goes above and beyond to make great course material that really helps you out and makes your life easier. If you ever have questions about assignments he usually responds under 15 minutes. He really cares about his students and it shows.
The G.O.A.T. He is the best math professor I have ever had
This teacher is probably the best math teacher I've ever had, he communicates things in an extremely approachable manner and is very accessible outside of class. His lectures are very interesting and engaging as well as very well formatted. The textbook was a packet that he works through during the lectures and is very affordable and well made.
He's super nice and teaches in a simple way that makes it easy to understand. I'm good at math so this class was easy to me but if you struggle with math, he's always open to help you through it. Takes things missed from one test and adds that topic on the next test for more points on the previous one. Math Talks also 5 points of extra credit
Professor Woodward is an amazing teacher. I love the traditional way he teaches using the whiteboard and interacting with the class. He teaches very clearly and makes sure everyone understands the topic. There is lots of help available if needed.
I've had harder times in easier math classes. Mr. W knows how to freaking teach.
Mr. Woodward was my professor for both Math 1050 and 1060. He is a amazing professor who is willing to do what it takes for you to understand the material. He is very accessible and gives good lectures that help you picture where you are going with the concepts, most notably in higher mathematics. I highly recommend taking his class. Cool dude.
Woodward is AWESOME. One of the best teachers I've had. Genuinely cares about all of his students. Has office hours to help out and the tests are exactly like the notes/homework/ Loved this class, would take again
This class was top tier. Professor Woodward wants his students to succeed and it shows. I would recommend this class and Prof W to anyone who wants to learn math and have fun doing it.
Mr. W is by far the best Math professor out there. He is caring, funny, and very straightforward. However, like any other class if you fall behind it can be hard to catch up. He is understanding but will be strict when he needs to be. I will forever remember Mr. Woodward as a great math professor and music connoisseur.
I don't feel it's fair to put my grade on him at all. He will give you second, third, fourth, and fifth chances. I just struggle with trigonometry. I failed and barely passed on my second go. He won't pass you because he likes you either. He's a very likable person. I just think I'll have nightmares about identities and the unit circle til I die.
Mr. W is the MAN! He is an awesome teacher and conveys tough concepts very clear and simple. He really wants his students to succeed and gives each of his students plenty of opportunities to increase their grade through extra credit and reinforcement portions on exams. He also has a YouTube channel where he goes through the notes.
Mr. W is an amazing math teacher that really knows what he is talking about. He wants all of his students to understand math. He is one of the smartest professors I have ever had. He truly cares about his students and did an amazing job at explaining how to do all the math things! Take his classes- you won't regret it!
Really great prof. Charismatic and fair
Rob did a good job clarifying the material to learn in his lectures. Attendance was important and he took role each class. He was organized and stayed on topic. His tests required that you knew the material well, but were not tricky. Study hard and you will do well.
Great Professor. Learned a lot. Had a few quizzes, but always posted a review so you know the exact questions he asks for. Exams are not very difficult.
Statistics is challenging and a class most people aren't excited about. I learned a lot and felt like this professor was able to engage everyone, regardless of their math skills. He is excited and accessible. If you need help, he will help, but also use the stem lab tutors !!!
He taught very well and stayed very much on topic. He was always open to questions until the concept was clear for the student. With a higher math course there's a lot of homework but he always left good feedback and always looked over the work rather than the answer. His tests reflect the time you need for them while going over the topics still.
There is makeup for things you did wrong on tests
Prof. W is a great math teacher - makes tough concepts clear. Uses a helpful YouTube channel and gives plenty of chances to improve. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for exam prep.
Mr. Woodward is one of the best math professors I have ever had. He teaches so clearly and is willing to help at any slight problem you may have with understanding it. He made logarithms so easy that I remember it without having to google it. If anyone needs to take a math class, take it from him. There is a bit of work but it's not too difficult.
I would 100% recommend Mr Woodward for stats. He is always very prepared for his classes and everything is in the book which makes it really easy to keep together. He does an amazing job at explaining things in a way that makes sense and will always help you if you have a question. You can tell he cares for his students. But you have to go to class
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! I felt like Robert wanted me to succeed and helped me do so. He gives you lots of opportunities for extra credit as well. Could not say enough good about this man
he is honestly one of my favorite teachers. i was nervous with this being my first year but he is awesome. he is a really nice grader and reads over your tests before you submit them to make sure you dont miss anything. he is super lenient if you miss a deadline or anything like that. he is so nice and genuine
I always felt engaged when I went into his classes. It was made so much easier for me to learn the course material when I wasn't bored during class. I don't usually like math, but he made it one of my favorite courses so far.
He is awesome, and very clear about what he expects from us. Lots of extra credit, he has great communication skills. I'm really bad at math, so I wouldn't take stats again. BUT he is great, if I had to take another hard math class I would choose him as the teacher :)
He's honestly great! I've never been much of a fan when it comes to math and numbers but he's a very good teacher, lots of options for making up credit/extra credit and he's always very clear on what's expected for exams. Very helpful.
Professor Robert Woodward is amazing at explaining Statistics clearly and making tough topics easy to understand. Highly recommend!
Woodward is a strict grader, however he grades fair and presents the concepts of the course very well. In trigonometry, I was able to grasp difficult concepts as well as perform well on exams because Woodward was very clear on the course outcomes. Would recommend as a professor.
Entering the statistics course, I knew it would be challenging; however, Robert made it easy to understand. He offers extra credit and allows us to use notes during exams. He is always willing to help and is very understanding.
Professor Woodward is the best math teacher I've ever had. I am not good at math and failed many times during middle and high school. Prof. Woodward easy going and clear teaching style helped me pass with an A grade for the first time in my life. The exams material was covered thoroughly and the homework was not overwhelming. Take this professor!!
Overall a very awesome professor. I took him as a concurrent enrollment student & he took extra care to make sure I was understanding of everything & the college schedule worked with my high school schedule.
I'm not very good at math but Mr.Woodward is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He lets you know what is expected clearly and is always there to help if needed in and outside of class. As long as you try to go to every class, do the homework, and ask for help if you need it, you should be good.
Woodward is the best professor I've ever had. His class moves pretty quickly, but he makes sure to leave time for questions and is easily accessible by email. His lectures make everything easier to understand. He is great at explaining difficult topics in different ways, so you can understand it if the first few ways were confusing. Incredible!!!
Robert was such an amazing professor. His lectures were really well planned out & I was able to understand the material with ease after attending class. Truly cannot express how much I recommend you take his class. Regarding assignments there are multiple attempts for the homework, he provides quick feedback/help, & his instructions are very clear!
Best and also most intense math class I've ever taken. Homework workload is very high (10+ hours per week), but it made me REALLY good at it and benefited me in my future STEM classes. He is a fantastic instructor who forms an excellent rapport with the class that makes it very engaging. I do wish there were more computer visualizations though.
I've always struggled in math. Like, crying screaming questioning if anything is worth it, kind of struggled. And there were a few times I struggled of course. It's math. However this professor was very easy to understand, easy to talk to, and if you cared then he did too. I love his testing system despite how I hate tests. I recommend for sure!
Amazing teacher. Made math easy to understand.
very nice guy, honest and helpful, no complaints. He takes his job very serious. Although at the same time he manages to take a attitude that invites students to be his friend. He cares and he's a great professor.
I took him for math 1035 and he made learning so easyyyy. A lot of professors tend to complicate math but he has a great way of simplifying concepts. Planning on taking him for math 1050
Hands down best math Professor I've ever had. He has a great way of simplifying the mechanics of math. Planning on taking him for Math 1050
He is a great professor! He offers extra credit on exams if you do better on topics you did poorly on from previous exams. He has guided notes so you can spend more time learning rather than hastily copying everything down and the notes are available online with a guided video. He responds quickly to emails and is super friendly. Loved his class!
Unprofessional and hard to understand And unfortunately he was racism
One of the best instructors you'll ever have (seriously). His lectures are well constructed and easy to follow. He's super patient if you don't understand something and will even walk you through basic algebraic steps (many instructors won't do this). His lecture notes are incredible. Each section has its own instructional video that he recorded.
At my short time at SLCC before transferring to another university, Woodward was probably my favorite professor I had. He doesn't overcomplicate math or make it harder than it needs to be and he is very good at explaining things. He is always very happy to answer any questions and will gladly explain something to you until you understand it.
I had taken 1060 before with other professors and had failed. i just couldn't understand the content. But in Mr. Woodward's class. he was able to explain the content in a way that I was able to understand and complete.
He teaches well, but is not very friendly when bringing up concerns in my opinion.
Very clear on the way he teaches and explains statistics. Not hard to follow or understand at all. The exam review sheets are very helpful, and you get a one page cheat sheet for each exam.
Professor Woodward is a fair and high-quality teacher. His lectures are very thorough, and his word choice is intentional. He doesn't dwell on unrelated material but does share his passion and insight into broader math philosophy to help build a connection and understanding of the material. His module videos are invaluable and succinct.
He is a good professor, easy to understand and flexible.
He's my favorite professor so far. He explains everything clearly, step by step, and makes sure we all understand before moving on. His teaching style is super organized, and he always sends reminders and grades fast. He made math actually fun for me.
Professor Robert Woodward deserves all SLCC has to offer. He is hands down the best professor I have ever had for Math, and I wish I could take him for Calculus next semester, but it seems that he doesn't have the seniority to teach the class. He cares about his students and will do everything he can to help you succeed, all he asks is for effort.
Harder than 1050 for me, but my friend and I got through it! I love how we can make up attendance by doing the class notes. He gave us a lot of places to look at, to study for the exams, which was awesome. The reviews weren't good because the learning assistant didn't do the problems in person; it was just a slideshow of questions and answers.
Mr. Woodward is by far the best instructor I have ever had. Math is certainly not my subject, but Mr. W made the material clear, and actively tried to help all his students in my class succeed. Stop looking for an instructor now, you've struck gold.
was the best math teacher i have has so far in college his lectures are very easy to understand and fallow and there is not much homework to do and just a very amazing teacher.
He was an amazing statistics teacher!! He took time to answer questions and explain anything that you might have trouble with. Very understanding and gives opportunities to people who are getting a lower grade to get more credit. The music he played before class started set a really chill vibe for the class.
I completed Math 1035 in my final semester at SLCC after avoiding math for years. I had always struggled with it and feared failing, especially since I had not taken a math class in 12 years. I am glad I chose this course and Mr. W because his fair grading and support helped me succeed.
Prof. Woodward is an excellent teacher who cares about the students understanding what they are learning. He is always willing to explain anything and teaches each little step so that your understanding actually grows. He is also happy to help and work with you when problems or misunderstandings arise. I wish he taught every math class.
He is excellent at explaining the course and always stays on track. I never had any difficulty following along with the classwork. The coursework itself is challenging, but he can explain it so well in class that it seems easy. He will also play music before class and give good song recommendations in the weekly announcement. 10/10 would recommend.
He explained concepts in good detail, going into why certain ideas were what they were, all very good at being personable to each student
