really cool teacher. no homework, only lectures and scantron tests.
Really fun guy. He really knows a lot about what he teaches. Very easy going.
Very intelligent guy. An all around nice guy. Very clear lectures and will lecture on everything that will be on the test. One of my favorite teachers!
nice guy, interesting stuff. No homework, just study notes for Tests if you want a B.
Dr. Zeuschner is an excellent professor. Always helpful. Never puts you down when you don't know something. Very, very informative. Also, he tells you what to study on his tests!
Phil 25 in the summer is piles and piles of homework. Easy to listen to, but he likes to preach on and on about his views and beliefs on politics and religion and what not. Though he seems professional, I didn't come to PCC to be indoctrined.
Great Professor ~ But the workload is huge! Tests are pretty easy~
I love this teacher! He knows a lot of stuff.. You can really learn alot from this guy:)
Very very intelligent man, wonderful lecturing style with humorous anecdotes. Tests are easy if you study the notes he provides. Also an awesome guitarist, ask him to play in class, he might if youre lucky!
He's the best... he is SUPER SMART! Learned so much. Recommended if you want to be inspired.
Talked way to much about his personal belifs.
he's a great teacher. he walks around like he's an enlightened person. he's very nice and his lectures are long, but it's clear. Just study from the notes and you'll do fine.
HE IS MY FAVORITE TEACHER OF ALL TIME! HE HAS A GREAT TEACHING STYLE.THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN GET A B OR LOWER IN THIS CLASS AS LONG AS YOU STUDY HIS NOTES AND READ THE BOOK. HE'S EASY GOING AND WILLING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. PLUS HE'S FUNNY ZEUSCHNER ROCKS!
Total sweetheart! Gentle kind and brilliant.
Kind and good and wise and cool.
always walks into class with a smile. knows what he is talking about. is really wise. quizes are based on lectures so pay attention in class
hes a great guy but just a little biased in my opinion
One of the most inspirational people I've ever met... Truly intelligent... has a persona that immediately wins your respect... For a good grade in class you have to work hard (which is only fair, of course)... highly recommend him...
He's a good teacher, but he talks to much. He does explain things very clearily and he answers questions very well.
Brilliant and knolageble man. His class is basically 100% lecture, but is very worth it.
This guy is a great teacher! He can teach! He has made an impact on my way of thinking! definitely take him. he talks all the time and yeah, i studied the night before the tests and got a B in his class. 4 test, and he'll drop one test.
If there was anybody more like Socrates, Dr. Z would be him! He used to teach a USC but he rather stay at his hometown (Pasadena), despite the low pay, to do what he does best...INSPIRE STUDENTS!!
dr. zeuschner is a GREAT professor. he's clear in all of his lectures and he's also kinda goofy. i HIGHLY recommend him. he's really a great professor.
He really asks intriguing questions that makes u want to listen to his lectures. He's down to earth, but his tests seem a bit hard (they invlove both multiple choice and essays). If you're a narrow minded person, this class will shock & even upset you.
HE IS VERY INTELLIGENT AND CLEAR IF YOU GO TO CLASS AND TAKE GOOD NOTES YOU COULD PASS THE CLASS. VERY INTERESTING SUBJECT.
by far, my favorite teacher at PCC. the subject matter is always interesting, and his lectures are direct & usually clarify anything that might be confusing to you in the reading. if you study for tests & use the study guide, you'll get an A. hes awesome.
He is one the best techers i have ever had. his class inspired me to become a better person and has really changed my life. he has also encouraged me to want to become a great teacher like him some day in the future. way better than Professor Richards
philosophy i can relate to and taking this class makes me comtemplate about philosophical questions, i actually understand. very nice and gives great lectures.
Excellent philosophy teacher. He understands the concepts of philiosophy well, and knows how to argue a point well, very focused teacher! His class is lecture/discussion and tests. One of my favorite teachers.
one of the best profs at pcc, very clear, helpful, wants everyone to do well/understand. laid back guy, lectures very interesting.
A bit Slow, but agood teacher. You know what is going to be on your tests. He is very Clear
Great Teacher. Makes learning about anything fun. He really knows what he's talking about and makes class easy to pass, also, he is very open to different opinions and is a good listener.
good teacher, makes class interesting, and tests are relatively easy all u need us to pay attention in class and u got at least a B good class I strongly recommend his class.
VERY cool teacher. He speaks in a way that makes it easy to understand. He wrote the textbook so if you miss a class, the notes are right there. But his lectures are really interesting and you'll want to hear what he has to say. Plays a mean guitar.
very nice teacher, if u listen to his lectur everyday, for sure u'll pass with an A!! great great teacher!!!
Good professor, teaches the subject, good sense of humor, clear as to what is going to be on the tests. interesting lectures. VERY BIASED.
SMART MAN with an outstanding teaching ability. He is very clear and lenient. ALways there to answer question. However, he does come up with some lame ass joke, which arent funny, but it's funny cuz we laugh at HIM! very ez class
He is probably the smartest and most knowledgeable professor i have ever had! Very understanding and very straightforward with tests. No trick questions.Very talented guitarist and excellent philosopher. Take him coz he was once in a space capsule!!!:)
He is very interesting. He has a great sense of humor, & he is very clear on what is going to be on the test. The study guide that is available upon purchase is basically all you need to study for the test. He seems like a positive person.
He's probably one of the best teachers I've ever had. He knows his stuff and is very helpful. He's a great guitarist and is very inspiring. If you wanna take a fun class and learn along the way, you should take his class.
He's just what you'd want from a philosophy professor--knowledgable, personable, reasonable grading.
He's really knowledgable. He used to be a programmer too. Has knowledge in lots of things. Real nice. Tests aren't that hard. Just need to pay attention in his class.
A great teacher who is very intelligent, fair and positive. His lectures are clear and interesting. It's worth taking his class. You will really learn a lot. Tests are not that easy, but not hard if you read the required books and take notes. Highly recommended.
what a great teacher! i love this class! he is a very funny guy. no worries if you take his class. take notes and you can figure out what he is going to put on the test. just read your book and notes great teacher
He is one of the most intellectual instructors i've ever had. He really tries to deliver his lessons understandably/easily. however, he often shows a direct, great hatred towards christianity. gets very biased when learning about existence of God.
A very kind teacher. His lectures are very clear and he'll take all the time in the world to explain. Tests are predictable and he'll tell you what to study for (based on lecture notes)!! Wonderful teacher!!!
One of the best teachers at pcc. highly recommended...very easy class if you pay attention and read the material...very intelligent man and very kind. take him for an easy earned A.
Dr. Zeuschner is by far my favorite professor, clear, understanding, very intellectual, kind caring and reasonable man. If you are looking for one of the best professors take his class you will learn something he'll open ur chrisitian eyes to new concepts of other religions!
Clearly Athiest and biased towards Christianity, but he's very easy, very nice, and clear and funny
by far the nicest professor on campus. he has a huge smile on his face everytime he comes into class. he's incredibly knowledgable and knows what he's talking about
very good teacher. very thorough and tests are very basic. just listen to the lectures and take notes.
awesome. really fun class. he really knows what hes talking about. the tests werent all that hard. take basic notes and pay attention and youll do fine
his lectures are clear and easy to follow, his tests are straightforward. also a real nice guy who will stop the class just to make sure you understand the topic...i can see why people are calling him an athiest or biased again christianity, but this is a philosophy class so come with an open mind
This was a fantastic class. Great teacher. There is a lot of material to cover but he is so helpful and takes the time to go over everything. Quite possibly the fairest tests I've ever taken in my life.
Extremely fair professor who creates a comfortable learning environment. Allows students to make their own judgements. Provides reasoning for all claims. Nature of the class is critical, but he is unbiased. Genuinely cares about the education of students. Very brilliant professor. Class is highly recommended.
he's an ok prof... he gives u a study guide for tests so focus on those... also he answers questions right before the tests so listen carefully cuz most of the test questions are asked... the good thing is that he never makes u feel stupid if u dont get it... nad answers all ur questions 10 times...
Great teacher who obviously knows what hes teaching.Only prob is the material is sooo boring, it makes the simplest class even hard.
makes subject matter interesting...everyone should take one of his classes
There is simply no kinder, more thoughtful, more gentle, and more interesting professor on the whole PCC campus than Zeuschner. Took him for both philosophy and religious studies, not that hard; even in mid-afternoon his lectures were intersting.
Very interesting lectures. Test are straight from class lectures. The book is easy to read (he wrote it). Take detail in class notes and you will pass the tests. Nevertheless you will have a good time.
By far my favorite professor so far @ PCC. His class is so interesting hes clear, understanding, and the nicest guy. He even brought his guitar to play for us and hes pretty good I recommend him!

This is the best philosophy teacher! He is a walking encyclopedia. He is smart and interesting. Just listen to the lectures take notes and study off of that. I still remember everything he tought me. Is is the best! I want to take him again.
One of the best teachers ever. Everyone should take his Eastern Religion & Philosphy class. He's a 20+ year Zen practitioner who lived at a center, and knows all about crazy things like medieval alchemy and world religion in general. He really knows
This guys is AWESOME! He's very friendly, the class is easy-going, the tests are easy as long as you read and listen to his lectures. I swear, the man looks like Santa Clause, and he's jolly enough to fit the part. Ho ho ho!
This guy is great!! As long as you pay attention in class, it's an easy "A". Take this class.
His lectures tend to stray off subject and get a little confusing but he provides students with an in depth study guide to every chapter which really helps on the tests. As long as you read the notes and ask questions before the tests you should get an A.
he's awesome!
I took religious studis and critical thinking with Dr. Z -- he is the kindest professor at PCC, and so interesting. Just a humble, good, brilliant man.
Boring!!!!
He's very kind and generous. He gives you hint on what is going to be on the test, and he curves the test too. Great guy! his lecture is just a little bit boring at time, I don't think it's because of him (he's quite hilarious at times), the subject itself is boring. He has the father-like figure, very very kind old man!
He's very easy. He's also a very good professor since he gives very clear lectures. Easy A.
i could of sworn i fell asleep in all this guys lectures.!..but hes a great guy...good teacher too...if ur really into that kinda stuff...zeuschner s ur man
awesome. i didnt come to his classes much, but just study and know ur stuff and you're good to go. he gave me an A even when i managed to be a B student throughout the semester. he's very good at clarifying complicated ideas of other philosophers. take him!
This man truly loves what he does. He loves what he teaches and teaching itself. He is extremely clear and more then willing to help you or get in awesome religious convo with you. Respectful of all people and hilarious. Entertaining class on a great subject!! Easy A!
HE IS AN EXCELLENT TEACHER. HE TEACHES AS IF HE WERE TELLING A STORY AND THAT MAKES IT PRETTY EASY AND INTERESTING....
He is a very nice man that reminds me of Santa Clause. His lectures are very clear and his tests are pretty easy. BUY HIS NOTES THAT HE MADE IN THE STUDENT STORE!!! Those will help tremendously!
this guy was great. really easy on attendance.he practically tells you what's on the tests.i missed a lot of classes, got B's and C's on my tests and still passed the class with a strong B. he's really clear on all the material and if you need any help he is always there.take his class if you want a good grade, you just need to put a little effort.
I have nothing but praise for this professor. Very intellectual, a genius who enjoys teaching and cares very much for his students. Class is more like an open forum were everyone expresses his/her ideas. His tests are all from the book and he reviews you beforehand. Very nice and witty. Highly recommended before he retires.
A very sweet, kind man. It has been a couple of years since I took his class but I can't think of any nicer professor at all of PCC. You really learn too.
Zeuschner is awesome. He has a passion for what he teaches, and it shows. Hislectures are very informative and he has good voice intonation, though be aware that he does not teach using any other methods besides the lecture. The tests are very easy if you study the key terms on the study guide. Take him if you aren't afraid of a challenge at PC
Zeuschner is an excellent teacher. He is quite knowledgeable in his field. He seems to have some issues with Christianity - so if you are sensitive about that you may want to look elsewhere. Otherwise I would give Zeuschner an A+ as a professor.
I just wish there were more professors like Dr. Zeuschner at PCC. Wonderful professor.
By far the best professor I have had at PCC to date. To get an A, buy the study guide to his class memorize the key terms and show up everyday to class and listen. That's ALL you need to do, it's not that hard folks. I never read the book and still got an A on each of his tests. His stories are very interesting and he's passionate about his work.
Like the previous coments, he is a great profesor. He can take a realy boring subject and make it interesting, such as Middle East Religions. Although, you are prolly not readin this because your too preoccupied w/ the other 84 good comments about this guy. My comment is insignificant, it's purpose is only to post more good comments about this him.
I took him in Fall 06 and he is one of the best professors I've had at PCC. Some may think that he is biased against Christianity but he doesn't show any prejudice for it. He presents the material clearly and makes it very interesting. Class isn't hard. Study the study guide in detail before the test and you'll do great. Highly recommended!
Great teacher. Very clear, kind, and cares about students. He knows that we have alot of**** to do so he doesn't pound on the work. Just study notes and listen to his lectures they're interesting. Our final only covered the last four chaps...so take him.
Easy teacher..explains really well everything..his tests are short and easy..the reading is short and pretty much explains everything..hes a kind man and does seems to have a tiny problem with Christianity...however im Christian and i wasnt offended so if your a Christian this class will actually make you a smarter CHRISTIAN!!
difficult tests..
comprehensive exam
Hahaha I love Dr. Zeuschner. He's such a down to earth and great character, its a shame I didn't go to class much. Its tough, but if you go to every lecture (trust me its worth it) and read, you'll ace it. Talks about his background a lot which is awesome, like how he almost ruined his golden jewls at hot springs HAHA!
Explain clearly the main points of the test. Approachable teacher. Passionate with his teaching. Recommended.
Good teacher, he's very nice, very helpful, but he's test can be tricky sometimes, The final was horrible! It covered I believe 5 chapters and very detailed material. Make sure you read the book or you'll end up with a high B instead of an A.
Professor Zeuschner is, BY FAR, the best professor I had at PCC. If you're at all interested in philosophy and listen in class, you'll get an A. He's incredibly compassionate and he was even enthusiastic during the night class.
dr zeuschner is a dedicated teacher who knows his topics extremely well. just study (& study hard) and you will get an "a". challenge him a bit and he loves it! he makes an ambiguous topic rather interesting and practical. if you are mature and self discipline when it comes to studying and getting good grades, take his classes and listen, take n
Take this class if you want to be inspired. Changed my whole perspective in life. Awesome professor! No H.W. or papers to write. Tests are easy. I got an 'A' for the semester which was even better. I would take this class again.
Everybody loves Dr. Zeuschner! His lectures are full of info and he is approachable if you are unclear on something discussed in class. I looked forward to his lectures. Stay open-minded and you will too! Good luck!
Zeuschner lectures straight out of the textbook for the class which is nice because you can just skim through it before the test. VERY CLEAR but there are no chances for e.c. and there are no homework assignments. He is very approachable if you don't understand something. Overall, I highly recommend taking him.
i did not read the textbook at all. all you need is his study guide. he is very helpful and nice and knowlegeble. tests are straightfoward. no tricks no gimmicks. as long as you listen in class and study the study guide you will do fine.
I took his class once before in PCC and am currently in UCLA, but I would take his Far East Religion Class in PCC again in Spring just to have the chance to learn from him again. Very helpful, he tries to make the class fun, very nice.
Zeuschner is a great professor who knows his material inside and out. Unfortunately, I find the material a bit exhausting to absorb so I end up sleeping. I feel bad for sleeping in his class because it's just rude and disrespectful, but he's a great professor that tries to help you out and he should know that it's greatly appreciated.
If you're taking Religious Studies, Study of Asian Religion you HAVE to go to ever class. He is very flexible when it comes to attendance. Study for each test a week in advance, they are difficult and your grade is based off of four tests, he drops the lowest one. Study Study Study and attend every class if you want an A!
One of the best. He wants you to think, and he's very good at explaining a concept from several angles. He loves a challenge, but be sure that you've got your logic in good working order!
Very cool teacher! He's seems hard at first, but you cant get lazy in this class. This is a real test of your logic and understanding multiple philosophies. Class is test based, so study in advance. Has a study guide for the book as well. Didnt do so well in the class, but that doesnt mean you should too. Highly recommend this teacher.
Very interesting, You can learn a lot from him not just about philosophy but about yourself through the class. Doesn't care if you come to class or not. Tests are fairly easy, all come from his lectures and book. If you come to class, or read the book you can pass.
He is a great instructor. Lectures can be very long, but I find it interesting. His exams comes from a mixture of the book and his notes. His exams consist of MC,T/F and short answer. He is wiling to answer your questions at his office or in class. Just read and pay attention to lecture and you should be fine.
Zeuschner is awesome! Funny, very knowledgeable. Passionate about subjects. Class is enlightening. Definitely buy Study Guide if available; almost identical to the lectures- tests based off them. Hardly used book. Drops lowest test grade. Try your best to understand material. ~45 M.C/T.F and ~5-8 short answer questions for tests. No homework!
Amazing professor! I wasn't very interested in this class topic before, but now I'm so glad I took it. He is absolutely knowledgeable and approachable. HE will offer help if you ask. He is clear and somehow makes his lecture fun to listen to! If you come to class and pay attention and study you'll def. get a A!you can also drop one test!:)higly REC
Pro. Zeuschner is a really awesome teacher. you will enjoyed yrself in the lecture. Easy test, and he always answers what you concerned about. Except that, the class itself is interesting too, you may found hard at first 'cuz those ideas you never met before, but when tring to accept them in a etic way, you will found a new world open to you.
Zeuschner is a very intuitive and influencial professor who provides lots of information. Some might say it's difficult to receive an A. This professor expects you to read the assigned chapters and outlines. Definantly not a class you should not snooze in. Overall a great class but be warned that you NEED to be an effort for an A.
Professor Zeuschner is by far one of the best professors at PCC. He's so smart and funny and really loves asian religion and philosophy. He does go off onto random subjects when people ask him questions, but it's informative. He also plays a mean guitar!! You have to study a lot for his tests but it's soooo worth it.
He's a good professor. he explains the material really well and he's pretty funny sometimes. no extra credit, but you should be fine if you read and show up for lecture. make sure you remember anything he writes on the board
One of my Favorites at PCC! He is very smart, kind, and respectful. His tests are easy and he gives you a chance to ask any questions about the test for 30 minutes before the exam! There were only 4 tests and he dropped the lowest score! Now thats easy... plus the only homework is reading. The books were all interesting just like the lectures. A+
This dude is awesome and quite comical. Gives stories about his life which are great. The tests are hard only if you don't pay attention or do the reading. TRUST ME! Read over the book before and after the lecture to survive. Also, you need to think critically. A LOT!
I love this professor! He tells a lot of interesting stories about his life that relates back to the material that you're learning and he's really funny. He speaks clearly and is very helpful. Tests are fairly easy if you read and study the chapters in the book. Make sure you take notes on his lectures because those come in handy on his test!
Dr. Zeuschner is very informative, he is not biased in any way to any Philosopher or religion. He does his teaching well. He is one of the best professors on campus.
I am taking his class right now and I really recommend him! He is enthusiastic about what he's talking about and he loves it when people ask questions. Really helpful and friendly. Only 4 exams and 1 final. Just go to lecture & read the book. EASY!
Dr.Z is certainly one of the most interesting and articulate teachers at PCC. TAKE HIS CLASSES! I am a Physics Major and Dr.Z is still one of my favorite professors - nearly made me want to change my major. Anyone giving this guy a bad rating is simply a lazy idiot.
Professor Zeuschner is by far the greatest professor I have had. He is very nice and helpful. His lectures are very interesting and he is very good at explaining all the ideas. MUST take him for Philosophy 1!!!!
he is a great teacher, only 4 test and final, drop the lowest. all the information is on the study guide. study and you will get an A.
excellent teacher, funny and knowledgable, lectures are clear and fun. has alot of passion and dedication in the field of philosophy. Attend all the classes because the things he say will be on the test. Tests are fairly straightforward if you listen in class and read the book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
This class was a lot of fun, Zeuschner was very into the material and loved to teach it to us. Came into class near the end of the semester and brought his guitar in to play bluegrass. Very fun class
Really great professor, has great lectures and stories to tell. He uses good analogies and metaphors to explane complex ideas. I would take a class from him again any time. His tests are hard, but if you are there for the lectures and do the readings you'll do fine, and he is always willing to meet after class or at his office hours for questions
Very lovely professor, very knowledgeable and wise, very helpful and nice to students. His lectures are pretty good, though you still have to read the book for exams. He is sure one of my best professors in PCC! Take him, you won't regret it!
You need 2 show up 2 class and look over the text. 5 tests, drops the lowest score. Kinda hard 2 get an A, Easy B. Very good lectures, if you have questions ask them.
I can't think of a person who better embodies the word "wise" than Prof Zeuschner. He is like the laughing Buddha- always smiling and totally approachable. He does his best to help you and gives you every opportunity to ask questions. The class content itself is IMO fascinating. One of the best classes/profs I've ever taken.
He is the true Philosopher you've been looking for. His lectures are so interesting. His class is easy and fun. Trust me.
Took his class during Summer 2011. Not crazily easy, but definitely manageable. Mostly memorization for tests, although some theories are rather complex and require some understanding. He gives notes and all our test questions usually come from there. Got an A. Really nice and friendly guy, recommended :)
I don't understand why he's not teaching ethics in spring. The day this extraordinary man retires, will be the day PCC looses an amazing professor. It required studying, obviously, but it was worth it. Don't even have to be a philo major to develop an interest in studying this subject, esp. When taught by Dr. Z. HIGHLY recommended, for any class
You will not get any homework in Dr. Z's class BUT it will help if you read the text. He is a great teacher, my class was once a week (imagine that, 3 hrs long) and not once I felt bored! I don't think exams are easy but if you take really good notes you can get an A.
Attended in 99'. This prof was nothing short of amazing. I sat in the back of the class, screwed off and drew all day...but i listened. Further more, i truly learned. The passion and wisdom he teaches with sparked my interest in world religion and theology. Thank you Zeuschner!
Taken: Summer11 Background: First College Class have since taken many more, plan to transfer to UCB or UCLA. He lectures then tests, thats it. He is very interesting during lecture. I came to every class and read but other than nothing. Uses his own book-$30. He is very caring. Some hard material. Think about to make it more understandable Got: A
A legit professor, he is clear and tries to make the lectures fun. Cantask for much more. Study before the tests and you'll get an A
This teacher changed my life. Don't leave PCC without taking him.
Took this class in 06' I still remember this professor. I came here because I was asked "Who was my favorite teacher's last name?" for a password. Zeuschner came up.
I was so excited to take Zeuschner because of all the good ratings. I was disappointed. He's very helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. But, he is more like a storyteller - a very good one - rather than someone who can initiate discussions. Also, sometimes I feel like he's just preparing you to take his tests and get A's.
In this class taking notes is a MUST. His test are not that tough but YOU NEED TO READ AND STUDY. He is funny at times which makes long lectures interesting. There isn't any room for discussion which I would have liked. Other then that he is great professor and class is also very awesome
I believe this professor only does 3 hr classes, and that is why it is important you go to class to hear the lecture and understand the reading. He can be entertaining, and honestly wants discussion in the class, but most people shy away. READ THE TEXTBOOK. No assignments, just a few tests. Study, ask if you don't understand, & you should be good.
Dr. Zeuschner is very nice and approachable. Although this was an 3 hr class but I always felt like the class went by too fast. The materials he covered were all very interesting. His tests are not difficult. Like he said, he really want you to pass. Take notes during lectures and read the study guides and you get an A.
Wonderful professor! Everything is Crystal clear in this course. Although long lecture, but the textbook he uses is in Simple English and categorized so its easy to understand the ethical theories. The chapters themselves are short. Only 4 Exams and a Final. Textbook Reading and attendance are essential to passing. Overall, Very Recommended!
Content is explained very confusingly. The test is also asked in a very confusing matter.
I took Zeuschner for Philo 3 & then Relgs 2 because he's a great professor. You need to read, take notes, ask questions, and go to class. The work you put into the course will be reflected on your grade. He's approachable & wants everyone to do well. No assignments. Ask him to play his guitar and he probably will. Great experience.
Prof. Zeuschner's lecture is kind of boring but as long as you read the book and know the main ideas in the book, you will be able to manage his class. My class in on Friday, three hours, pretty long and hard to stay focus. He know the stuff but his lecture is not interesting.
As long as you read and jot lecture notes you will be fine. Tests based completely off reading/lecture. No homework besides reading which is highly recommended. If you're not interested in the subject then that's your opinion, you chose the class, not the professor's fault. Straight forward test, easy class, easy A,
I loved Dr. Zeuschner! He is definitely one of my favorite professors and has such a nice and intelligent personality! He tries to make his lectures easy and no too lengthy. Make sure you read and study for his tests! Going to class ensures a good grade on his exams.
He is an amazing lecturer, and an incredibly nice professor. The only thing was that it was really hard to get an A on his tests so I recommend reading the chapter twice for your best chance at an A. But no homework or anything and the multiple choice is not hard, only the free answer can be a little tricky.
4 exams and drops lowest (the final replaces the grade of your lowest). You must read the book in order to get an A. His class is once a week 3 hours long so be sure to attend every one. He gives you hints and many times tells you what's going to be on the exam. Such a nice and caring man. Class is not an easy A but a very easy B.
I did not find that the lectures were essential to earning a good grade. Reading the chapters at least twice and taking good notes on them helped the most. Overall, not a difficult class but you really have to study for the tests and he drops the lowest!
Prof. Zeuschner is one of the best professors I have ever had in PCC. He explains the material really well and his grading criteria is pretty straightforward as well. You will have to read the book and make good notes to get an A in the class. Overall, this class is something I truly recommend for everyone to take.
exams are straight from lecture so take good notes. v grateful that he created a few outlines to help study! he's easy to reach via email and would even send out reminders. really went above and beyond for us :') such a kind, down to earth soul. take him! and if you happen to be a musician, you'll get along just fine!
Great professor! Would 100% recommend him and take him again. I thought his test were very easy, just either read the book or show up for class and take notes. He is so nice he even helped me with my transfer application! Great, kind and amazing human being! Also, beware of the impromptu guitar concert at the end:)
No lectures in this class. Je just kept talking and students need to take note from his talking.
I believe his last name Zeus give us hint that his a god trap in human body! Hes an amazing man with so much knowledge its mind boggling. Im so thankful he added me even though his class was full. Secret to passing his class: listen to the main topics to each chapters and get the core idea and memorize them for essay parts & multiple choice.
There are four exams and a final which is double weighted. Drops one lowest exam score excluding the final. I got two D's and two B's on the exams, and a B on the final and still got a B in the class. He's a nice and kind man who gives his students a lot of chances to succeed. Study the notes, read the book, make flashcards and you'll pass.
You read cuz its all history about Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, Buddha, ect. You listen to his interesting lectures and read the chapter and take the test. Thats it, until you finish the semester. As long as you read and listen to lectures you will pass with an A!He will NEVER intentionally trick you on tests. He's SO KIND & drops your lowest score!
He is one of the few professors that I've had that actually takes the time to read the assignments turned in. He will provide you with lengthy feedback on why you received your grade and will respond to emails and questions very quickly. If you listen to his lectures and refer to the pdf handouts for the exams you should be fine. Take him!
Such a great and understanding professor especially during our current circumstances. Homework and quizzes were based on lecture and outlines (which are given to you). About 1-2 assignments a week given ahead of time.
I can't stress how profound a professor Prof.Z is! His class is very in depth so if you're passionate about Philosophy, you'll learn quite a lot! He provides chapter outlines which are helpful for the homework assignments. His lectures are informative and have kept 100% of my attention. He grades fairly & gives good feedback! 10/10 's take him!
I took Dr. Z's winter class. It was fast paced but an amazing class. He posts lecture videos and has these amazing outlines that are helpful to study for the test. He held sessions every week and was welcome to any all questions through email or zoom sessions. He was very kind and I learned so much content but also more as a person.
I took Philosophy 003 in Winter 2021 and it was a great class! He posts a lot of lectures and some of them can be quite long but they are great for prepping for the quizzes. The book for the class was actually written by him and it is really easy to read and cheap to buy or rent. His zoom lectures are optional but I would recommend going.
His classes provide a large number of lectures, which require students to spend time studying, and the tests are extremely difficult. He is very concerned about the details. Any mistakes may lead to deduction, and there is almost no extra credit. If you want to pass the course smoothly, I don't recommend taking his course.
Professor Zeuschner is a good teacher if you can handle heavy lectures. I found the coursework to be extremely easy but a lot of my peers struggled in this class. He is very generous and understanding of students. He will drop your lowest test score, give lots of free points in homework, and will even postpone tests at student request.
If you can handle long lectures, he's a sweet professor who truly cares about the subject. Grading is clear and simple and the tests are straightforward. If I had a longer attention span I would probably have been a little more engaged, but nonetheless a positive experience.
For starters, he gives good outlines of the material we need to study, the quizzes are clearly based off of what was taught in class, and he is overall a great professor who cares about his students. His lectures are good at explaining specific ideas to students and you will learn much from this class.
I took his class during the winter semester so his lectures were heavy and three hours long since there was a lot of time to go over. I find his way of teaching to be clear because he gives us an outline for each new topic and go over it in detail during class. Also, the homework is almost like the tests. Do good on the homework and you will pass
Professor Z's class is engaging and challenging. His lectures are detailed and thought-provoking. The homework and tests align well with the material. I found unstuck study to be a helpful study tool alongside the textbook. Overall, a worthwhile course for philosophy enthusiasts.
Professor Zeuschner is an outstanding professor. As long as you follow the outlines he assigns and keep up with the readings, you'll get a good grade on the assignments and the tests!
Dr. Zeuschner is very knowledgeable and a great lecturer. Took the summer course so it was very lecture-heavy and dense, but the tests were very straightforward and he lets you ask questions before the test.
