One of the best English professors I ever had. She is not very fair and a good teacher. Some might say she is hard but those are just the people who don't do their work. She is easy to follow along with and is always willing to help.

lots of work but get on her good side and she's an easy teacher. I think she has favorites in the class but she helped me a lot when i needed it and she really helped make the class interesting.

she is very nice, and her essays are very clear on what to do. you have to work hard to get a good grade but she is a great teacher. i learned a lot.

If you are prepared to work, then take her. Like all decent professors who want you to learn something, she gives fairly hard assignments. She does take awhile to get assignments back, but only the smaller ones. Things like tests you get back in a timely manner. She is a fairly hard grader, but if you do the extra credit it is easy to do well.

Seriously....she is not the demon spawn like everyone says. She does make you work hard. If you plan on transfering she does give you a great foundation. If you just want the easy A don't take her. She is very clear on assignments. People just don't read the directions. Come on guys. This is college.

Okay, so she's tough, but this IS college. It's not high school. She demands a lot, but she's fair and nice and pretty helpful. I would definitely take another class with her.

These comments are funny..honestly. Professor Tragarz will not give you an easy grade, you have to earn everything in her class. Even if you try hard, if you simply can't write essays you won't do well. Started out with 40 in the class, down to about 12 by the end, pretty sure everyone who stayed passed. She is helpful, and I loved the class.

She does assign work but its college! if you're not expecting to write papers go to beauty school. She is very persoanble and she always asks about your persoanl life. She is a sweetheart and she is really tries to prepare you for transferring. Take her.. she will really help you get through college!

Professor Tragarz is a really good professor. She does assign a lot of book work becuase it is an English class. I would recommend taking her class because she is really helpful. Its not an easy "A" class, but she is really nice.

Ok, I took professor Tragarz my first semester at SCC. I am now at Berkeley as an English major. I was an Econ/Math major with a 4.0 before I took her class, and I came to my own conclusions about being an English major. She is not biased, extremely fair and lovable. DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE POSTS

I loved her! She was very helpful.Anytime you need help you can go to her office hours and she will help fix your essay. I enjoyed her class and felt that she is a great teacher.

She was a wonderful teacher and knows what she is doing. Very organized and sweet, depending on if you are one who completes the tasks assigned. She doesn't tolerate slackers at all. Personally, I enjoyed her classes and thought they were fun and entertaining. =) Hw is not bad at all, not much and essays are easy, she gives a lot of help. Good luck

I took her Children's Lit class. It's harder than you would expect but at then same time it could be worse; you have to read quite a bit but its kids books (k-12), a lot of busy work and she grades papers pretty hard but the tests are easy so it works out. Overall, fun class, I'd take it again.

I really enjoyed her class!! She is fun and entertaining.you need to do the HW and be on time for the quizes but those are easy points and wilol help your grade. I am taking her for English 101. She is pretty hard but fair. If you don't know how to write a good essay you will after this class...which is good for other college courses to come.

She's a sweetheart. I just wish things were a little more clear and organized.

I took her for my English 101 class and English 270 and I definitely enjoyed both. She's funny and a total sweetheart. She reminds me of Lorelai from Gilmore Girls. The assignments are relatively easy to understand and she has a set syllabus that she usually sticks to. She's very easy to talk to and her class is never boring. Great teacher.

I took her 101 class and enjoyed it so much I decided to take her 270 class. She is a very interesting person to talk to and is extremely helpful whenever I have a question. Her assignments are challenging and still fun to do.

She is a difficult teacher and you have to do a lot of reading for her 270 class but it is really interesting! She is a great teacher and I never got bored during a lecture, attendance is required! She is a really great teacher!

She is a very helpful teacher; her assignments are meant to challenge you, not to coddle you. She is a very fun person to talk to; you just have to make the effort and you'll do just fine in her class.

Tragarz is fantastic! She is SUPER friendly and hilarious. Her syllabus seems a bit intimidating at first, but she sticks exactly to it. As long as you follow it and listen and take notes, you will do fine in her class.

I thought she was a really awesome teacher. She would spend any amount of time to help a student. She really loves her job which I find important in teachers. She is really easy to talk to so asking questions isnt uncomfortable. If you email her, she usually responds quickly.

I do not reccomend this class to anyone who slacks off or isn't good at keeping up with home work and due dates. She assigns a lot of essays and work but is willing to help you if you need it. She is a kind teacher but definitely a tough class.

I LOVED this class!! It was so interesting. Professor Tragarz is amazing. There is a lot of hw and projects but their easy if you pay attention to what has to be done. Take this lass with this professor you won't regret it!!

Professor Tragarz is very helpful. She is a outgoing and fun person. Just follow directions do your work and you will be fine. She hates rude students, be on her good side or you will not last in her class, and make sure you put your cellphone on silent. Pleasure to be in her class

A really nice teacher. Only gets bothered by people who don't listen to directions. All the homework assignments and due dates are on the syllabus and she will NOT tell you whats due herself. We watched a couple of movies and videos in class. A really easy class if you stay on top of things plus the assignments are easy except the research paper.

I loved her class and thought it was actually pretty easy. Yeah she assigns essay's but it's a writing class so that shouldn't be a surprise. She finishes almost every class 30 mins early and she makes lecture go by quick. I like that there aren't any tests and she doesn't quiz us on grammar.

Absolutely loved her class. It is truly a breath of fresh air to find an empathetic professor who is willing to go above & beyond for her students & still manages to keep things interesting. Pay attention to the syllabus as it is crucial and maps out EVERYTHING. I can honestly say that I would take a class on watching grass grow if she taught it.

Turn in all the simple 5 - 10 point assignments and you should make it through the class with a passing grade

Have textbook day 1. Get a planner and enter upcoming assignments. They're on the syllabus. If you cant handle reading a book each week download audiobooks and listen in the car. Do the chapter outlines or the points add up. Start your papers early and meet with her during office hours. She will proofread and help you. I raised a D to a B.

Tragarz is really strict but she just looks after you. Shes really nice though.

She treats her students as college students. At most, you have to read one CHILDREN'S book a week. She gives clear instructions and is passionate about children's literature. I have always hated English but she made me wish I read more as a kid.

Professor Tragarz was one of my favorite english teachers, you can tell she's passionate about literature. The class focuses mostly on poetry, novels, and short stories rather than how to write essays, which is great. She is easy to reach and very patient. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in English 102.

I took her English 101 class and now I'm going to be taking her English 102 class. She was really helpful ecspessuly since I not the best at grammar and spelling. She was always will to help no matter what!

Im not sure why so many people gave her a bad rating, she was an amazing teacher! If I ever had any questions she helped me out and would be available for office hours pretty much any time of the week. She was very kind to everyone in our class and I wouldnt be surprised if everyone got at least a B. Thank you for everything professor Tragarz!!

Professor Tragarz always gave good feedback with each essay and responded quickly on Pronto. She gave many interesting topics for the essays and gave multiple chances for extra credit. If the essay elements were there and had a good thesis/introduction to your essay, you would most likely get a good grade on it.

I can't speak for the online classes, but personally I had a great time in the in-person class. Only complaints were that she tended to get sidetracked with life stories quite often (at least once per lecture) and that she grades the essays VERY strictly. Had a great time though, got some good feedback for my writing.

Prof. Tragarz's class was very enjoyable, as she is very caring and teaches well. Workload was moderate, expect to write a lot and attend lectures, but the pacing of the class felt really good. She is very outgoing and energetic, only regret was I didn't participate in discussions in class.
