Gabrys is Lithuanian and has an accent which makes him that much more adorable. He's very thorough. He gives you practice quizzes for the every midterm. 3 midterms. Not that bad.

He had an accent, which came off as really adorable. He's definitely a likable person and is available for extra help, since it can be a confusing course. Lectures often were boring, though. He's super thorough, so there were a lot times in which I tuned out in class.

Attendance is not mandatory. Understood the book and powerpoint slides and you'll do fine. All exams are multiple choice and there are two midterms, but he gives practice quizzes and exams to practice from which really help!

Professor Gabrys was definitely my best professor this semester. He goes over the subject matter very well and is extremely helpful and available. Easy class, large curves on the two midterms, I definitely recommend him.

He's such a great professor! Very nice and helpful :) Tests are challenging but multiple choice. You don't need the book for this class because everything is on MyStatLab.com (great resource that only he uses!) Gives extra time to complete HW if needed. Take his class!

Boring but very clear. Amazing how enthusiastic he can be despite teaching 8am lectures with half the class missing lectures on most occasions. Tests are quite easy and he is lenient with his grading (offers MANY opportunities to postpone homework due dates and even midterm/quiz dates).

Had him for two classes. FAR BETTER than my undergrad stats/math professors. FAR FAR FAR BETTER. Somewhat disorganized but explains things reasonably well - good mix of theory and application. I definitely feel that I got a higher grade than I deserved but I'm not complaining.

Professor Gabrys really knows his stuff, but his english sometimes causes problems with the phrasing of questions, which results in confusion overall. He clearly explains all of the methods step-by-step, so if you just pay attention in class, you should do fine.

He is nice to answer all of questions you have no matter in class or after class. His lecture is hard; yet, once you have completed assignments, you will learn a lot. Recommend his Modern Applied Statistical Learning Method to graduate students.

Stats professors are not great but he is a solid choice especially if you want to improve you excel skills. All exams had excel, which I liked because it is easier than trying to figure out which formula to use to calculate things. The only bad thing would be that he never responded some of my emails, but if you are ok with that then take him.

Seems like the reviews for 310 are another story, but I took him for 425 and he was great! He made the course content much easier than I expected it to be, taped all his lectures (great if you miss class, or want to study later), and was super accessible via email, in-person meetings, or skype. He's also a beast with excel.

Great guy and true to his word. He keeps exams fairly consistent in difficulty throughout the semester. I thought this class would be like 310 where the final exam is way harder than the quizzes but it was a fair exam.

Gabrys is a great teacher and really puts a lot of effort to help us do good. Excel is a hard subject in general so it is tough but he is very caring and accessible outside class.

Not the best professor to be honest, and it's definitely partially because its such a difficult class to conceptually teach with so many models/formulas. Hoenstly pretty straightforward. Just do the practice quizzes and you will be fine. Not sure why people say his lecture is confusing since he stops for anyone who asks for clarification or needs help. Very accessible for office hours

The class was based on 5 homework and a final project. Make sure to go to his class or at least watch the recordings. Also, go to his office hours! He is really accommodating and willing to help. I ended up using a lot of what I learned during class for my internship.

I dont know why Gabrys has such low ratings, he's truly amazing. He's willing to go over each concept over and over if you don't understand it. He's also really accessible outside class and has a bunch of office hours. He's sweet and always willing to help, grades get bumped up usually, quizzes are hard but that's just how the class is.

Gabrys is very boring, and lectures move so slow. However, his class is not difficult. I never paid attention in class, but before quizzes and tests I watched lectures at 2x speed and used his practice problems. If you can do that, you will be fine. This class does not take that much effort, just do what I did and you should get an A or A-.

Robertas is great. He offers great flexibility to students and he really wants his students to do well in class. Detailed explanation for assignment and practice quiz. Great Professor and don't understand why he received such a low rating here.

Professor Gabrys is the best BUAD 425 professor you could ask for. He is so clear in lectures and teaches in a way that you can easily understand and follow along. He wants his students to succeed and is extremely knowledgeable and caring. 100% recommend!

Professor Gabrys is very knowledgable and accessible. I messaged him at 9 pm about R code, and he still responded. You can learn a lot about R and different models in his class! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this class if you want to learn R and forecasting. The group assignments are based on what we learned and they are interesting. Not hard to get an A!

One of my favorite professors at USC. It is a really fun and easy class as long as you go to the class with a bit of stats background.

He's a super hardworking professor, but his class was not organized. He gave undergrad and grad students the same exam and HW, which were pretty hard and highly time-consuming. It's hard to catch up on everything from his lecture, but what he taught was very helpful for data analytics. tbh he graded very generously, almost based on completion.

Professor Gabrys is not only very knowledgeable and smart but also very caring and stylish. He is never teaching pure theories but analytical skills you can employ in real life. Even though he teaches a lot of courses, he never complains or compromises your learning experience. He does his best to help every student succeed. His puppy is cute too!

Robertas was a very knowledgeable and caring professor. He explains things clearly and is willing to take some extra time to explain concepts that didn't make sense, even if it was 1 student. Gives a ton of practice problems that are similar to the exams and full video explanations for them. Would take him again.

Mr. Gabrys is the best teacher ever! He teaches us so many cool things in our BUAD 425 class. He is very smart and knows how to make learning fun for everyone. We love when he shares interesting stories and shows us neat tricks. His lessons are always exciting and never boring. Mr. Gabrys always takes the time to help us understand.

Gabrys goes over everything very slowly and detailed (this can be both good and bad side). Even if you are not the most tech-savvy person, you will be able to get all the concepts as long as you go to all his lectures. He is very approachable so ask as many questions as you want. I don't see how this course can be taught better than him.

This is a hard one, I really love Gabrys and think he's a great guy, he really cares and prioritizes helping us learn and try new things. This class is just way harder than it should be. I went in with no coding experience, and it was just incredibly difficult to learn in 1 semester. Would not recommend if you don't have prior python/R experience.

Professor Gabrys is a great professor-- very caring about his students & their success, always available outside of class for help, and very responsive to emails. He takes ample time to articulate concepts and will take time to ensure everyone feels confident about the material. He also provides lots of practice (which you need in order to do well)

He did a very good job in this course. He solves questions step by step very carefully. As long as go to the class (or just watch the recordings cuz attendace is not mandatory), you will easily ace this class.

Posted all lectures and the answers to the homework, which made the class super easy throughout the semester, but also means that your grade will heavily depend on your exam and quiz grades. Not a super difficult class, just make sure you know the material before the exams, because you aren't given a lot of time to complete the problems.

Confused by the bad ratings cuz Robertas was a good prof. The classes were very slow paced but I recommend going in person so you dont have to do the quizzes yourself on your tiny laptop screen vs the big desktops in JFF. Study in advance for the final because most grade is based on that and is cumulative. but relatively easy A

Super chill guy, always answers student emails about questions. No mandatory attendance, you can access all the notes and videos online. Exams are exactly what you practice. No complaints at all. 425 is just generally boring, but he is definitely a great and incredibly fair professor who wants everyone to succeed.

Professor Gabrys is easily one of the best professors I've had at USC. He is able to teach analytics in a style that covers the technical skills, while also delivering it in a way that students can easily digest the material. This is such a special teaching skill that many professor don't have. Ignore bad reviews. He's a stellar professor.

Prof Gabrys is a great teacher! Can watch lectures in-person, on zoom, or recorded, but do need to keep up to do well. Slides to introduce each topic then all practical application, weekly in-class+homework assignments. Goes through everything step by step, receptive to questions, exams like practices. I learned a lot. Final determines grade.
