A model, prototype instructor. Like a machine, he will start giving notes on the first day, and his notes are VERY organized and clear, will explain further if asked. Welcomes questions, and runs courses like a finely tuned engine.

Slow but steady pace. Note taking is clear. Uses many examples to help explain math problems visually. Highly recommended to enroll in his math classes early beacuse they get PACKED!

Take notes alot, he does a VERY good job on giving notes and all you need to do is do the homework and his quizes are easy although it's not multiple choice, but still, I passed with a B and I never thought I was good at this level of math but he taught it well.

omg this teacher is boring, he gives way too many examples overall he is clear.... gives all the examples that are on the homework. if you suck in math then take him , if you know the stuff, take another teacher. he teaches us as if we were dummy's

I dont think he is a good teacher. For math 175, he would only explain the sample questions that the book already provided leaving you with question on other harder problems. Test are easy for this class:All of the test questions are the same questions that are in the textbook. I would strongly recommend another teacher for a higher math class.

Ive been taking botello for all my math classes and i just think he is an amazing teacher!!! fair grader.... he only has us do the counts of 5 for hwk. i use to hate math until i started taking his class! take him!!!!

I've taken Mr. Botello for Math 50 & 70. I'm not very good at math, but he's very helpful and he approaches different aspects of learning in a way you can understand. I received a B in Math 50. I received an A in Math 70 (in SUMMER SCHOOL!). Just keep up with the homework every night & you pass with flying colors :)

I never liked math, till I took botello over summer. I think he is the best math teacher, I was starting to enjoy math and actually understand it for once. He's really nice and very helpful. I strongly reccomend him for a successful time in math!

I took Mr. Botello for my third attempt in math 50. I had received an F and D in the course with other professors. With Mr. Botello I changed a F on my transcript to an A. Best Math Teacher I've ever had. All questions answered with clarity and lots of extra credit.

botello is very nice and very helpful. he wants to make sure you understand. best math teacher at rio. 1st day of class it was full and 28 people showed to try and add, nobody dropped the class during the whole semester. 3 tests, collects all homework, and theres 3 quizzes. if youre lucky enough 2 get it, take him, highly recommend.

I hate math and I am horrible at it. I took math at rio before with Mr.English, who sucked big time! But Mr. Botello is a sweet heart and is a great teacher.He will explain something until you get it!I have an A so far never thought it would happen.Wished he was teaching math160 :(

Great math teacher. Patient and understanding. He will stick with you until you understand the material. Spends a lot of time lecturing and instructing. Doing homework is essential to passing(as is the case with all math classes). I would definetly take him again.

Best math teacher at RIO. If most of the class has issues with particular problems, he will spend extra time on it before moving on. Spends a full day on review before ever exam and offers extra credit and all quizzes and exams. Bottom line, he cares if you understand the material.

I've attempted to take 3 math 50 classes and dropped them all because of the $h!t quality of the teachers. BOTELLO on the other hand has actually taught me things and made me realize that math isn't as hard as it seems. He is fantastic at showing how to do things and will not stop until every person in class understands. I wIll take him again!!!!

I took Math 70 in the fall with another professor and didn't not pass. While I was a little nervous about a summer course I took Mr. B anyways and passed it with an A. He is a great teacher. Explains every step. His study guide and per test are great help. I recommend Mr. Botello any day.

Super cool teacher and is very helpful. I hate doing math but when he explain it, he use everyday life and it makes it easy to remember. you have to attend class because the class is very fast pace( minimum of 2 sections everyday)

I took this class in the summer so I wouldn't have to take in the fall of 2013. He is super nice he likes to show every step possible. If math isn't your best subject then I suggest you go every day and take notes!! the Notes are very helpful. I struggle a lot in math but passed it and it was stressful due to it only being an 8 week course.

If you want to take an "ART" class, we'll this is your best choice! Professor Botello paints the white board with his artistic math knowledge and it becomes ever so clear than ever to his students. Great professor! Let's you use calculator for the tests! He is so easy. Gives you a study guide telling you exactly what problems will be on the test and that helps a lot since now you know which questions to study.! I got 220 out of 250 on both exams! Homework is a must and is turn in mid final and in the final! Great and nice professor!

very excellent math professor. he takes the time to go over everything and tells you what is on the exam. he usually gives a point just for showing work even if the answer is wrong and always does at least two lessons a day.

I recommend him because he goes step by step to understand the material and the tests (2 and 1 final) are based off the study guide he hands out so you can be prepared. I'm surprised I got an A.

He is the best teacher in the entire math department! Just do your hw and if you don't get it he is there for you. Even if you ask a dumb question he'll be happy to answer it to you. The test are not multiple choice but the previous day he gives you a look alike copy of the test. The test has like 25-30 questions but the problems are easy make.

5 quizzes, U get a review every test, it goes by the chapter & sec u should study by so it can be anything, gives half credit on test, ex credit if u go to tutoring, if u don't do well on test it will just bring down ur grade, only 2 test but are worth 50 percent of grade, final 30, final is chapters 1-10 if ur not good at test its hard to pass

If you hate power points, his class is for you. His lectures are organized in a manner where, not only does he organize them on the board, but organizes your thinking upon the subject. If you are struggling in his class, perhaps try putting your phone away, pay attention, and copy his notes verbatim.

Mr. Botello CHANGED MY LIFE! Math has always been a huge struggle for me and so many teachers make you feel dumb but not him! He is the most kind and inspiring teacher! As for the few poor comments, guess what math takes dedication if you want to skip class, borrow notes and be on your phone than don't expect any teacher to take you seriously!

Before Prof. Botello's class, I thought my odds at passing any math class was a hopeless dream. I was wrong! Prof. Botello literally helped me transform the way I look at arithmetic for life! He's a complete genius in the sense that he simplifies even the hardest math and delivers it beautifully with the student in mind. 5 stars for Botello!

He is by far the best math professor I had while at Rio. He explains the material in different ways if it means someone will learn from it. He is very friendly and open to any questions reguarding the material before or after class. If the material feels hard it's because you don't ask questions! It's your grade so ASK!

Amazing Professor! I took him for Math 30,50, and 70! His lectures are very easy to understand. He gives extra credit at the end of each semester if you used Rio's LRC Tutors or Math Lab in Science Build. Very nice and friendly. Gives study guides. Collects homework after every test given not after every chapter or quiz.

People really miss out on this class. There are a couple of people texting a lot in this class and I feel like it's a shame. He gives true feedback, VERY patient. Professor Botello has been one of the most amazing professors at Rio Hondo College. He cares for the students so much and is willing to spend extra time in class for students who don't understand the material. There's only three packets of homework, five quizzes, and one final exam. Overall, easy class and great professor.

Students whom have not done well in previous math classes, enroll yourselves in Professor Botellos class! If you do take his class: Ask questions when you dont understand, Go to his office hours, and Do all of your homework. If you follow my suggestions you will be successful in his class; do not give up on yourself! Prof. Botello is phenomenal

I suggest Professor Botello to anyone who had a very difficult time learning math. He is by far one of my favorite professors in Rio Hondo. Botello teaches clearly, gives plenty examples for notes, reviews before and after an exam, and is very very very patient and caring with his students. Mr. Botello is an amazing math professor! I failed trigonometry in high school but I passed with an A in this class. Lectures are clear and he will not move on if you have questions. Do the 10 quizzes (there is up to 4 points XC for each of them), all the homework, and you'll definitely pass. Class is out of 1000 points. Easy A or B

I learned this material in high school and it was very hard but when I learned it again with Botello, after a year and half without taking math, it was so much easier. I always had a hard time in math and sometimes not the best math teachers but his teaching was very helpful; it got me my first A in math!

This guy really knows how to teach math. He will explain everything to the class multiple ways so you fully understand the concept. Always accepting of questions & crystal clear explanations. Hw is generally each section, every other odd out of 90 or so problems. I wish I could take him for every math class.

One of the BEST professors at Rio Hondo, honestly if I can take him for pre calculus, without a doubt I would. He breaks down everything and doesn't skip a step. If your confused about something he has NO PROBLEM repeating the steps again. All the homework is due on the day of the test, LOTS of extra credit, and gives such good letures.

He is absolutely amazing! I would take stats with him but he doesn't teach it. Hes clear concise and very caring. He uses analogies to teach and gets to the point. He is a passionate and great teacher. I hated math but he makes me love it. He is absolutely an awesome teacher for sure! he teaches from the bottom so you understand the top.

Thanks to Professor Botello and his amazing skills I passed Math 53. I was literally loosing all hope in finding who to take but with him and how he taught math everything just clicked. I cannot wait to take him again for math 73. He is so amazing! A real true blessing!

Prof. Botello is a really great professor hes REALLY patient and caring. Ive been taking him for all my math classes and Im currently taking him for College Algebra. & its also important to stay on top of the hw, its not a lot but it can be if dont do it.
