Has a unique teaching style that made everything simple and crystal clear. He taught me more trig in 2 classes of pre-calc than I learned in a semester of trig. I wish he taught every math class I have to take.

If u are up for spontaneous and entertaining math class, then this is your class. He is hilarious, definitely an out-of-the-box thinker. His teaching style is like nothing you have ever experienced. OCD students might struggle because he doesn't follow a precise order, instead he jumps from concept to concept making sure you know your stuff.

I really enjoyed being in this class, I would sometimes miss a day in the week &I'd still be set on my test and get all A's. He's great at teaching and does it at a slow pace for others to get the hang of it. His test are only easy if you ay attention and do your work. I wish he would teach summer btw he always says yeeah. I don't know many professors more passionate about education than Professor Rubalcaba. I was by no means a good math student, but because I showed up to every class and came to his office hours, he truly worked with me to pass his class. I actually ended up with a B+! His classes are fun and he grades extremely fair. Would highly recommend!

He really cares about his students and wants them to learn. The homework is hard but he'll help people with it(in and out of class), tests are easier and he curves.

Professor Rob has one of the most amazing professors I have had while at the SDCCs. He has the most wide reaching office hours of any professor I've ever had, he is very understanding and helps you as much as he can with homework, and has a very high pass rate for Calculus II because he cares a lot. He also has a couple extra credit assignments.

Walking into this class i thought I would fail and suck at math. Instead walked out with an A. Dr Rob gives us so much motivation, time and effort, he makes sure you pass the class. He is a well-rounded teacher, don't expect an easy A. He gives out a good amount of homework that covers absolutely everything that comes on the exams. I took this class during the summer which meant 18 weeks into 8, so yeah it seemed like a lot of work but all of it was applicable. Incredible professor. He makes students like math through teaching a wide variety of concepts and its applications, and even through the history of math. All of his lectures are amazing, and loves to demonstrate concepts through hands-on crafting. He even offered his students snacks like chocolate and granola bars! He loves teaching, even at 11pm!

Everything is on Hawkes, homework and sometimes test with unlimited attempts, it takes the highest score. There's also 3 big tests with 3 attempts each and a final presentation that's easy.

Very patient with explaining things in class even if he has been over it multiple times. Offers a lot of extra credit work and no late penalties for 1 week. Midterms & finals that were proctored, you could bring your notebook, Google Sheets, formulas, SALT, & a scientific calculator. If you have never understood maths, this class will change that.

The most SWEETEST Prof. in the math department. Incredible at relating math to real world issues. Available for questions at almost any hour! He believes in all his students. Explains math in a way that is easy to understand. The math has it's tedious areas and workloads, but he makes it such an easy class. If he has available spots, TAKE HIM! GOOO

Dr. Rob is an amazing professor. I was worried about taking Stats because I always struggled with math, but he made the learning process so easy. We are halfway through the semester, and I currently have an A. I feel confident in my ability to finish the class with an A. Take him if you can, you won't regret it.

I've been finishing up my AA and needed to take a transferable math course. I got extremely lucky and ended up taking this course to meet that requirement. Dr. Rob is one of the best professors I've had at City College, and I can't recommend taking one of his courses enough. Life changing on so many levels!

Took a leap of faith going back to school, took math and FAILED before, he makes it make sense. I got an A. A- but it is still a win !

took rob for calculus 1 and was assigned a lot of homework but he is very flexible with deadlines and understanding of what someone has going on in their life. If you have the option to take his class, do it. The class in itself is difficult but having a caring professor makes his class a rewarding challenge.

I would have never made it through statistics with out this professor. He rally cared and took the necessary time to help you feel comfortable with math. Hardest subject I've encountered so far. He really made it easy and took the time with me to help me really earn that A. He is even available for extra tutoring at the math center on campus ifneed
