Anyone you talk to will recommend Dr. Rubini for ALL Chemistry courses.(CHM1&2 to Organich Chm 1&2). He will spend as much time as you need helping you. If your major requires that you know your Chemistry take Dr. Rubini.

Dr. Rubini is the type of instructor you want when dealing with a hard subject, like chemistry. I think that some of the sample tests are easier then the real thing. Dr. Rubini speaks clear and concise. Iam glad I never have to take chemistry again.....it is a **** of a subject!!!! Not for the faint of Heart!

Dr. Rubini is the professor you want when taking any chemistry course. He is intelligent, clear, concise and to the point. I would rate Dr. Rubini as very friendly and kind hearted, but this does not mean that he gives A's to everyone....you have to earn them!! Try hard..attend every lecture..do the homework..and you will get a good grade.

I wish I had taken Rubini for all my chemistry classes, but I was stupid. I had a horrible teacher for Organic 1 and barely learned anything. Rubini made Organic 2 so CLEAR to me that my interest in Chemistry was rejuvenated. He is one of the best science teachers I have ever had at HCC.

Good teacher, my favorite actually. Took him all the way from modern chem up to chm 1046. Probably take him for Organic chem as well. Very clear, makes great analogies to help you learn, test are moderately hard but he keeps them pretty simple. loves to help students learn a very tough subject like chemistry, makes you like chemistry.

Excellent teacher in any subject matter he covers. Great style, great personal presence - explains tough subject matter in terms the "learner" can get.

He's the best. He tries to make chemistry relevant and interesting. His teaching style is one of the best I have seen. The sample tests were very helpful, and if you go to his office he will help you understand it if you don't get it. I wouldn't want to take chem with anybody else.

What an amazing teacher. I hated chemistry in highschool, and was dreading it. He made everything sound so simple that I wondered why I ever struggled with it in the first place. Tests are hard, but his clarity in teaching more than makes up for it.

His policies are crystal clear, and batting your eyelashes will not get you a better grade. He teaches so clearly, though, that if you get a C or below, you must have skipped class.

I took rubini in the summer and i have him now once again....he is one of the best teachers in hcc and anyone who doesn't do well in his class means they are lazy and want the easy way out....if you don't earn and A or B you are dumb!!!

Organic Chemisry was a tough course...and I was very grateful to have taken it with Dr, Roberto Rubini! He is an excellent teacher and if you do all the homework you will do fine...that was one of the reasons I got a C in the class! I suggest teaming up in a group of 3-4 people at the beginning of the class and form a study group!Highly rec. bert!

Great teacher. Really cares about his students. Always available to help. Tests are by no means "easy" and he usually throws in a question not covered on the practice tests just to see if you really know the concepts. I didn't do any homework but I do recommend it. Bottom line: go to class, take good notes, and do the practice tests= A

Good teacher, breaks chemistry down so anyone can understand it. Take notes and do his study guides and you should get an A. His study guides are basically old exams so no surprises on test day!

GREAT PROFESSOR! Extremely helpful, emails back quickly and he's always in his office. The only grades are based off your tests so be sure you know all the material. The book was completely useless but he only tests on material he's covered. he provides sample tests before each exam so be sure you use those to you advantage.

He's a great guy: Exceedingly help full and through. I would recommend him to non-science majors. I would also offer a warning- He presents the material in such an easy-to-understand format, that one can get arrogant about the subject and not study as much. As easy as it SEEMS in class, DO the homework,and STUDY more than you think you need to.

Had for lecture and lab. All of the comments here are right on target for Dr. Rubini. I have taken over 20 classes at HCC and he is, BY FAR, one of the best professors I've had. He brings it down to your level, explains thoroughly and usually has time to review/answer questions before tests. His labs are great as well! Take him if you can.

Great teacher. Very helpful when you have a question. Always willing to help you out during office hours as well. Doesn't make you feel dumb about chemistry. Doesn't expect every student to be a chem major. Brings his teaching to an understandable form and gives lots of examples for the tests.

Great professor really knows his stuff, took him for Chem 2 all the way through Org 2. Test are not easy makes you put effort but at the end you feel really good about yourself. Wish he taught upper level chemistry classes at USF where I am going.

Amazing professor. Loved him! Most of the class is applied math, which is not easy, but he is great at breaking it down into steps that are easier to understand and remember. Another great semester in CHM. with Dr. Rubini! Some professors *will* explain things in easy-to-understand terms, but in a "cute", belittling way. Dr. R. explains even the most simple ideas with a sense of wonder that is not only infectious but very encouraging. Only word of advice is DO YOUR HOMEWORK and take it seriously, esp. in summer courses!

Although CHM itself is not necessarily "easy" Dr Rubini made it so - he loves what he does, and it shows. I did not have to see him outside of class hours but he was very responsive to e-mails. If you really want to understand the material, do the homework! I def recommend taking him; I'm hoping to take him in the Fall.

Dr. Rubini is the BOMB. Seriously, even debating on making a fan shirt. He explains everything so well even a child would understand. Very smart, funny, and nice. Doesn't assign homework and gives old tests from previous years to study from. Attendance not required for lecture. HIGHLY recommend this guy. Took him for intro and in his ChemI.

Dr. Rubini is extremely organize. He takes time to explain every topic in details, always available during office hours. Textbook require for homework(not required). Study more than you think you need to for a test.

I took him because a few people had told me he was a great professor, and he is. Although, when it comes to his exams, he will ask questions either he didn't really explain during lecture, but mainly, the way he phrases the questions on an exam is really confusing. He's a good professor, just be ready and expect the unexpected during his exams.

He is very passionate about the subject, which made me want to go to class even though attendance was not mandatory. His lab does help out study for his lecture exams and etc. He gives out old exams to study from which help out a lot, but you should also study your note if you do that you are sold for the exam. He is an excellent teacher.

I hadn't taken a chemistry class in over 5 years. That being said, Dr. Rubini was able to teach me all the material in an understanding way. He is very helpful and I learned a lot. His sample tests are a good review for his tests but aren't perfect. Study hard because his tests are tricky, hard and nerv-racking. Read the book and do your homework!

Incredible- Dr. Rubini is an incredible teacher. His lectures keep you engaged. His tests can be tricky but he prepares you to succeed. He reviews everything and is always fair. If you want the BEST take him. If u want to skate by take someone else. I tried to take another professor and dropped their class to wait for Rubini again next semester.

He is the chemistry teacher that exists at HCC. His lectures are crystal clear.. And he explains everything in detail and clear. and also, he gives you trivia that relates to the topic... However, it's too hard to get his class because it's always full from the very first day of signing up.

Best professor I've ever had. Has a deep understanding of chemistry. Ridiculously clear -thinking and articulate. Unfailingly reasonable and willing to admit when he's made a mistake. Most people get tripped up on sig figs. Don't settle for partial understanding of the content. Only 4 tests and the final so test performance is crucial.

Lectures are very important. He introduces a topic and works relating problems the whole class period. The problems he works in class are very similar to the ones he gives on the test, so taking good notes is a must. He gives sample exams before every test so study the notes he writes in class and the practice exams and you'll be fine.

Great professor ever

Easy A, his General Chemistry 1 was so much easier than the Introductory Chemistry Class. Grade is only the test grades, no homework or extra credit. He gives out test reviews which are almost identical to the exams. All you have to do is do the test reviews and you will get an A in the exams, and the class.

Took him for Gen Chem 1 & 2: A in both. He has a deep understanding of chemistry and is phenomenal at teaching it. Your grade is based on your exams alone and they are challenging; however, he very clearly outlines how to succeed - you need to put in the work. If you're a hard-worker (if you're anything medical you need to be) this is who you want.

Professor Rubini is an amazing chemistry instructor! Ask questions, do your homework , review with your classmates and you should get an A. You get what you earned ! :)

Great instructor but he does not cover everything you need to know. The homework is mandatory because some of the material is not covered in such detail in class. You will need to read the textbook and do the homework even though it isn't graded. It will make all the difference.

He has a care for students who put in the hard work and visiting his office is a treat: cause he's such a nerd and it's the best part about him. He very rarely makes a mistake, and is able to answer questions without leaving a sliver of a doubt behind. Be present for all of his lectures, as you will need it. Mr. Rubini is my all time favorite teacher I had him for intro to Chem and I didn't know that his classes filled up so fast for Chem 1 and I wasn't able to get him. I miss him so much best Chem teacher ever!! He explains things so well even though he is super intelligent.

Professor Rubini is the best chemistry professor I have ever had. His lectures are very organized. The grades are based on 4 exams and the final. Also, he replaces the lowest exam grade with the same grade of the final exam if it was higher. Homework are optional and not graded but if you do them, you will find his exams much easier. Take notes.

Dr. Rubini teaches chemistry so it's a hard class. But he always lets us come to his office for help and there's always a line to get in. He's funny and make the lectures interesting. The tests are hard if you don't learn the material but its that way in any class. He's really cool, but doesn't let you get away with missing assignments and quizzes.

A close friend of mine's daughter just moved to the area & I told her that if Professor Rubini is still teaching at HCC that she must take his chemistry classes. After 2 bachelor degrees, he is still ranked my #1 professor of all time...& I had him about 14 years ago. He is one of the few names I can remember. He is tough, but fair & super good.

I am coming to this website only to rate Dr. R after reviewing my chem notes from 3-4 years ago as I was prepping for MCAT. Had him for Chem 1&2, and Orgo 1&2. He was the most articulate prof. I ever had and made me believe my ability to learn hard science. Everything here is true about him, I miss his class. I aced my MCAT CP section thanks to him

He is by far one of the best professors Ive ever taken and he is truly gifted. He loves his work and goes out of his way for his students success. Take his class!!!

Dr. Rubini is a great professor! He actually teaches you the subject matter. He only grades on the chapter exams & final. Homework isn't for grade, but if you don't practice you won't pass the exams. Rubini is honestly the best professor I've ever taken for chemistry! You definitely need to have the background knowledge for his class, but despite that he taught everything really well. The only down side was he only graded you on tests. HIGHLY recommend!!

Dr. Rubini is awesome! He teaches the material very well and always answers any questions you have. His test are not easy but they are very fair. He lays out the franework perfectly for what you will need to know to do well in his class. I am taking the MCAT in a month and feel the least stressed about Organic Chemistry.

Most difficult A I have ever made. Fantastic teacher but grades are based purely off of difficult and tricky tests.

I took professor Rubini for chem 1 and 2 and he is amazing!! There are 4 exams plus a final. The final can replace your lowest exam score. Homework is not graded but he assigns it for you to practice for exam time. I highly recommend taking this professor he makes the material very easy to understand!

Best teacher I've ever had. Professional and VERY organized. Polite and respectful to students who have questions. He is patient and will take the time to help. He's super nice and approachable and always available for extra help in his office. GREAT TEACHER. I took him for 2 classes and 2 labs. The classes are hard, but you will learn a lot!

Everyone that has taken his class loves him, and with good reason. He's probably the most intelligent person I've ever met but also funny and easy going. Do you want an easy A? TAKE SOMEONE ELSE. But if you want to LEARN the material to prepare for the mcat, pcat, gre or whatever, Rubini is the one to take. Tough but very, very good.

Dr. Rubini is an amazing professor at teaching the material in a way you can understand, but the class is only graded on exams. His exams are between 12-16 questions but are VERY difficult and mostly free response/show your work. Theres a ton of homework he doesn't even look at or grade, but if you do them all and the practice exam you should pass.

Show up to class and you'll learn everything you need to know for the exams. His lectures are in depth and thorough. Do not hesitate to raise your hand and ask questions during class- he takes time to make sure you understand the subject matter. I was really dreading taking Organic Chemistry 1 & 2 but I would take it again with this professor!

I am currently at USF taking CHM 2046, and let me tell you, I *STILL* use Rubini's lecture notes. It has been several years since I've taken Rubini's Modern Chem & Chem I class--BUT HE'S JUST THAT AMAZING. While some of my class still struggles with VESPR theory, I have picked up right where I left off. (Ask him about being on Jeopardy :p)

I have taken prof Rubini for three different classes, intro chem, Chem 1 and Chem 2. Two of them were in the summer but I got As because he is a VERY good professor. Your grade is based on 5 exams only, homework isn't graded. Just show up to every lecture. Also homework doesn't help as much on the exams, so stick to your lecture notes.

I hated chemistry before, but Dr. Rubini made this class enjoyable. I took his class online in summer 2020 . His lectures were long, but he explains everything into extreme detail to make sure you understood it. Only graded by exams, but he was lenient and wanted you to get an A. Absolutely amazing, wish I could take him again! take his class!

He is always ready to help you out. You are only graded by 4 tests, and your final replaces your lowest test grade. Would recommend forever and would take him again. 100/10

He will answer ANY questions, and will stay after class to help you understand a topic. I used to have to go to tutoring for chemistry with other professors, but with Rubini I no longer have to use a tutor. He is truly amazing!

Hes a great teacher he explains everything in detail if you pay attention and take good notes you will understand If you have questions he helps you and youre only graded on 4 exams and a final that replaces one of your lower scores. Theres a textbook for the class that he uses to assign homework but he does not grade it its just for practice

He wants to make sure his students know it. Amazing lectures - especially in Organic. Just wish grades were not strictly based on tests.

He is an amazing Professor! There are no assignments and your grade is entirely based on 5 exams, which includes the cumulative final. The exams are only 12-15 questions, but he does give out a sample exam a week before. If you read the book and do the homework questions and pay attention in class, you'll get an A.

Dr. Rubini made chemistry enjoyable. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable in chemistry and will thoroughly explain a topic. He makes chemistry so easy to learn and his lectures are AMAZING. Your grade is determined by only 4 exams and 1 final. Homework isnt graded, but is used as a study tool. I will definitely be taking him for chem 2 and orgo!!

Dr. Rubini is amazing at explaining concepts and will never look annoyed even if he has to repeat himself multiple times. His office is always open for questions and help as well. However, the tests are your ONLY grade in this class so studying everyday is key to passing. Thankfully, his test are very reflective of what is taught in class.

Professor Rubini is just great. He mad Chemistry so much easier. His lectures are broken down and made clear so that you fully understand the material. Your grade in the class is based off the exams ONLY. There are four exams and one final cumulative exam (curve on each exam). He knows his knowledge well. I will definitely be taking him for CHM 2!

Overall amazing professor with passion for chemistry. His grading criteria is very straight forward, 4 exams and a final making a total of 5 while the final replaces the lowest test score. No quizzes no projects, homework is offered through the textbook but is completely optional (Higley recommended). Very well explainer and takes his time.

Make sure to take it before the exam as that will give you a idea of how prepared you are. Do this all and you will pass the class.

Took Dr Rubini for Gen Chem I and II and he is the BEST professor to have. He makes chemistry simple and enjoyable (coming from someone who has struggled with chem). His exams (5 total) are short and the questions are similar to his sample exams. Just review the sample exams and you will do fine. I am sad I am not taking him for Organic Chemistry.

I was terrified to take o-chem I, but he made it so easy to learn. He has a passion for teaching chemistry and his lectures do reflect that. His exams can be a bit challenging, but if you take notes and study, you should be able to pass them with A's. He is the best chemistry professor you will ever have. I am going to take him again for o-chem II.

Dr Rubini is one of the best chemistry professors that HCC has to offer. I took him for Chm 2045 and Chm 2046 and I got A's for both ( coming from a student who struggled with chemistry). If you go to lecture and take notes, go to office hours, do the homework, and take the sample exam like it's the real test then you will pass his class with an A.

Professor Rubini is an awesome professor. His lectures are very engaging. As long as you study, attend the lectures, and do the practice exams, you should pass. I am already planning on taking general chem II with him. I haven't finished the semester, but I'm sure I'll get an A in this class. If you need chem, TAKE THIS CLASS!

Organized, patient, and really nice. Knows the material and explains everything thoroughly. I really learned a lot. Rubini is the most patient person I've ever met, he will help you with ANY questions you have and never makes you feel stupid, or loses his patience. Chemistry is HARD but professors don't get any better than this.

Best Chem professor out there, don't hesitate and just sign up with him. Even if you live far, trust me the drive is 100% worth it.

Is genuinely passionate about his craft, which seems to be rare in college professors'. Will occasionally rant about off topic chemistry related things which is interesting and a nice break from lecture. Very low course work, as the only grades are based on 5 exams. If one does the textbook problems and the review, there's no reason not to get A's.

Dr. Rubini was one of my favorite professors! He is very caring and extremely accommodating to students with disabilities. His lectures are very informative but your grade is based off 4 exams + the final. On the bright side, the final can replace your lowest exam grade!

Prepare well for the test, and you'll do great! He takes the time to help you understand the material if you are struggling. I've taken all my chemistry classes with him and managed to maintain a B in the lectures and an A in the labs, even though chemistry has always been a challenge for me.

Very passionate about the subject, always throws in interesting real world connections during the lecture. Lectures teach the easier part of the material, you have to teach yourself the more challenging parts. Would have liked to have some homework to balance out the exam grade and have some extra practice that was specific to what was on the exam.

Very good professor hes kind and knows how to teach and explain, but very very very difficult though his exams are the most difficult exams i have ever taken but if you study they are easy As so as long as you put in the time and take notes you will pass and the exams are not so similar to the sample exams so you need to understand the material.

He's a great professor! I took him for my prereq and plan to take him again. He's passionate about chem and the lectures were entertaining. He was very understanding and accommodating of personal circumstances, sending lecture recordings when I couldn't attend and helping to review topics even though the summer doesn't have office hours.

He is a very king teacher and so nice but unfortunately I was not doing well on the tests, not enough to pass, so had to drop. Homework is optional. There were 4 tests and a higher can replace a lowest. If I was more dedicated and worked harder I think I would've passed but it was truly on me... I am also had at testing so that didn't help.

Prof Rubini was an excellent chem teacher. There was 5 exams and that is the only grades that go in the gradebook. The last exam will count as a final and then replace your lowest exam grade. Attendance wasn't mandatory, but important to do well on the exams, same with hw. Accessible and willing to help. Doesn't make you feel stupid.
