this class sucked. he would mess up the problem at least 2 or 3 times a week and the class corrected him.i learned how to work a table for disabled students.cool. overall. easy class do your homwork and ace the test.dont miss more than 5 days or else it gets deducted fm your grade.funny to watch.
This class is very easy. All you need to do is your homework and go to class. He is very clear and will be willing to work with you. Take this class if you know the material already.
He is soooo easy, very nice. he wants you to get good grades, he never checks homework but he does collect it and as long as you do it he'll give u an A. Take his class if you want an easy A, but u do have to do homework.
He is a really easy teacher and a nice person. He is always willing to help you in class and you can get tutoring from him before quizzes or tests. The grading scale for the class is low.85 is an A-. It is boring most of the time but you'll get a good grade.
VERY VERY EasY totally recommed, and wished I could have him for all classes, attendence is linent, though you want to go to all classes, new material every class, and clearly helps you with your math. Tests are easy do all h.w A A A!
very very very easssyyyy and a really nice guy, as long as you pay attention and go to class pretty often you'll pass. he's very helpful if you need it and the tests are ok. but higly recommened
It was an easy class. He is very helpful, all you need to do to pass the class is not miss more than 5 classes, and do the homework, which is not hard.
he is really cool, super easy and is willing to help you.
Very helpful and clear!
Nice and fair man. Explains topics clearly and lets you ask questions about homework prior to turning it in.
Professor Vasquez is a very HELPFUL and PATIENT teacher. Like how every one else mentioned, it is easy class to pass, but it is a MUST that you do the homework and turn it in on time and STUDY! If you need help, don't be afraid to ask because chances are, there is a great possibility two or three other ppl. are wondering about the same thing.
Mr. V is so awesome. He is the one that taught me how to understand math! I went to his tutoring sessions, and he was so helpful, and patient. He saw how hard I studied, and although I dont think I should have recieved the grade I did on the test, he gave it to me anyway. He is a great dude, just do your hw, and go to class! Easy A!
Mr Vasquez is a nice teacher. He doesnt grade the homework, but he expects you to do it. He even helps you with the math if you don't understand it. He wants everyone to succeed in his classes.
Wow, this was indeed my favorite class. This teacher is really friendly, helpful, and funny when you get to know him. His teaching methods are very useful if you take full advantage of them and don't half ass your way through class. Senior Vasquez is an excellent teacher I would recommend him for everyone eligible to be in his math classes. Van Levy 619 993 3531
Homework is essential in his class but all you need is effort for it. You can literally get ever answer wrong and get full points on the homework! But of course he would give you correct answers if you got everything wrong. On a test, he gives points if you attempted the problem. I like the way he teaches and the way he runs everything.
The best math teacher i've had so far, so helpful and so patient. just do the hw, ask for help when needed, practice the problems on the practice tests and you'll be A okay!
vasquez is ****in awesome! he is sucha great teacher and seriously is very understanding. if you get him as a teacher, he's definitely worth it!
If you have been struggling with mah, do whatever you can to get this teacher!! He explains everything until you understand it, he's nice, and he will go out of his way to help you. He even tells you everything that will be on the test and won't thrown any trick questions on there. TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!!
He is the most helpful and patient teacher ever!!! He makes math fun! I looked forward to going to his class, he was very clear in his lectures and went over all of the homework and answered all questions. If you have difficulty with math..i REALLY recommend taking him ..
Great Professor!!! I didn't like math until attended his class. Very clear, patient and helpful. One of the best professors I have ever had!
Excellent. Teaches so that students learn. He really cares about students and never made any students feel stupid
Professor Vasquez is an extremely helpful and patient teacher. I recommend that all students who have to take remedial courses take Vasquez. You will not regret it!
THIS IS THE MAN WHO WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR PRAYERS WHEN IT COMES TO TAKING A REMEDIAL MATH CLASS OR MATH IN GENERAL. HE IS SO HUMBLE AND SUCH A WONDERFUL TEACHER. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIS TEACHING STYLE AND HIS PATIENCE. DON'T THINK TWICE. HE IS THE BEST MATH TEACHER EVER
he is one of the best teachers ever..very humble and very clear in his auditions. despite the fact of his funny accent (in a good way) the guy is very very good. highly recommended! AA++
He was teaching a class I had taken junior year and it was my own fault that I didn't ace this class. If you go to class, pay attention and do your homework there is no way you won't pass. He's a super nice guy and very understanding. =]
HES SUPER COOOL HE ALWAYS LETS US OUT EARLY AND THE CLASS IS ONLY ABOUT AN HOUR..NICE GUY EASY TO UNDERSTANDD
he's a very good teacher and he's very helpful. he goes over any questions thrown at him and goes as far as he can to make sure that it's crystal clear to you.
Best math teacher i ever had. He was cool with everything. He explains everything clearly and if you don't get it, he'll keep explaining it to you until you get it. He gives little homework which is cool and the homework is super easy. All of his test are pretty easy too. GREAT TEACHER.
The best math teacher ever...i learned alot of things and he always go over the homework.
I was pretty horrible at math but he taught well and I never got lower than a 95 on a quiz. Although I over heard some students had C's, but he taught really well, and helped you if you ever needed it. He is the greatest professor ever.
if you are in remidial math classes you should DEFINITELY take this teacher!! he goes slow and helps everyone out. Turn in homework everyday (which is only about 4problems that takes 10minutes to do).EASY class but can only miss class 5days before it affects your grade, so all you have to do is SHOW UP!(50 min class)
Hes really undertanding and helpful.Very good teacher to take if your bad at algebra like me and I got an A.
a very GOOD teacher! slows everything down and makes math easy to understand. I wish he taught other high math classes. But for sure, take him as your professor! If you need help, he is there for you! :)
he makes eveything so easy to understand, I cant imagine why other math teachers make things so complicated. He's very patient and knows what he's doing, he gives out daily hw but its for the practice. Now I wish he can teach math 70 because I would totally take his class!!!
Very good. Felt like i learned math better than any other teachers ive ever had in the past.
Super helpful! I am not smart when it comes to math but he makes it really easy for his students to learn it.
Wonderful teacher, easy test, very understanding...TAKE HIM! =)
A wonderful, happy man. I loved him as a professor. He made math so clear and he always lets the class out early. He has a good heart and really will help you if you need it. He is also one of the only professors I have had that goes around and individually works with the students. Highly recommended.
He's very helpful and makes you feel very comfortable in the class. He actually cares if you understand the material. He's a stickler for attendance though, miss more than 5 and your grade goes down.
Excellent Teacher, he makes sure you understand all the material ...especially if you struggle with math! I STRONGLY recommend to take HIs class!
Great Teacher recommended for everyone! Especially freshman
He's an amazing teacher! Very good at explaining the math problems. Online homework. He spends the time in class answering questions people have about the homework and then doing problems that are going to be on the homework. I would definitely recommend his class

I really liked him! Really easy, don't need the textbook at all! Answers all questions and always available to help with any problems. Do the homework! You're allowed to miss up to 5 classes. He's really nice too
Such a great math professor! Clarifies every misunderstanding one may have and definitely does not wast your time! Go to class, take notes, do the homework, and you will pass with a A! Do not purchase the book, so useless and a wast of money.
What everyone is saying is true! He is the best math teacher for remedial! He helps everyone and goes over the homework problems. You don't need the book, homework is online with unlimited tries.
Very helpful and informative professor. Highly recommended for students who need remedial math. All homework is online, tests are all from the lectures and hwks. Lectures are clear; questions are welcomed and clarified for better understanding. Attendance does count for participation points and he does take it every class.
For 60, Vasquez is obligated to set up the class so students teach each other as this is a new method 'proven to work'. It doesn't. Although, he is an excellent teacher when you see him office hours. He speaks with a slight accent and has strange BO but don't let that stop you from seeing him one on one. Overall, if you put in work you'll pass.
Completely useless, doesn't explain stuff detailed enough, super dry, teaching methods arent useful, shows problems on the board without explaining how to do them. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS!
I don`t know what he is like in pre-calc but he is definitely a very good teacher for both Math 60 and 70. Not a hard class at all. If you need help on your homework be sure to visit him during office hours. If you do so he will make sure to help and pay special attention to you as he will realize that you are a very hard working student.
Not very helpful to be honest. He's a really nice guy though but I dont really like his teaching style so maybe its me. He doesn't really explain problems very much just gives you sheets and tells you to go off and do them
Very helpful and nice. Quite tad boring on the side during lectures but you'll get an easy A if you participate, do your homework and pass the test.
I had a difficult time in this class. He has a very strong accent so it makes it hard to understand what he says and I gave up on asking questions by the end of the 1st 2 weeks because his explanations leave me even more confused. He is, however, a very easy-going and understanding teacher and gave me more credit than I deserved for late work.
His accent makes it super difficult to understand and his lectures aren't that great or clear either.
I really enjoyed Mr. Vasquez's class! He was very efficient! He helps when a student doesn't understand a problem and he uses two days of review in class before exams. The review problems he gives out in each groups are similar to the prob in the tests. Very easy to approach, i learned more from him than my HS math teachers
I loved this class! He is very intelligent, hilarious, organized, caring, & helpful! Just anything you would want in a teacher. I went from a student who did really bad in math during high school to an A+ student in all my math courses. He knows how to balance class work, lectures, and hw. I learned more from him then all my hs teachers combined.
Mr. Vasquez is a great professor. Took him for both Math 60&70 and can honestly say that I have never learned so much in a math class. He is a very humble teacher who really cares about his students. I personally went to his office hours a lot and he would always be there to guide me through problems. Awesome professor and would recommend to anyone
Took his Math 70 course which was hands down extremely simple. He cares about all of his students. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and he rarely takes attendance. Truly recommend him and visiting his office hours helps a lot.
good teacher
His class is easy with homework but he barely explains what he's teaching and because of that, if you're not good at math, you're going to have a tough time on quizzes and homework. He's also pretty difficult to understand with his accent.
Easy class but yet very frustrating because he never really explained any of the classwork he gave out. Every class meeting, we would just be in groups doing the handouts he gave and just present them on the board ourselves. Easier to just make friends and have small homework groups to understand the material.
Hes a great teacher. While working in groups with problems on worksheets, he walks around to see where were at & without hesitation hell explain to us if we have trouble with anything. Dont be afraid to ask questions because hell do his best to help! He really helped me understand math in such a small timeframe that I couldnt get in HS
Roberto doesn't teach as much as he simply talks and write things on the board, but somehow it works. It is my first time taking calc and I understand math MUCH better than I did in high school. You can tell he truly understands what he is teaching. Attendance is only taken in the first few weeks. There is 1 weekly quiz and homework is manageable.
Roberto is a great Calc teacher! I am surprised I have a B in the class when I thought I was doing poorly. There are weekly quizzes that are out of 10 points and he takes attendance. He offers alot of extra credit so take advantage of that! He helps you when he sees you struggling and does not do it in a condescending way. Take his class for Calc!!
Honestly, his teaching style is not the best. He goes over a concept, does a couple example problems on the board, then tells us to get in groups and do some practice problems from the textbook. Quizzes once a week, not too hard if you attend lecture and do the homework. Extra credit opportunities and he's a fair grader on quizzes/exams.
Honestly, in his Math 60 in summer his style in Calc 1 he goes over was a bit monotone of his fast pace lecture and does examples by the homework. He'd does pair in group in practice problem from online homework. Quizzes every once a week, attendance mandatory and extra credit is provided. He'd grades fair if you already shown effort on your work.
Excellent professor took his class in 1998. He really push me to pass since math was very difficult for me. He has an accent who cares, I don't even know why students bring his accent. He is the math professor you can ever find at SFSU very humble, intelligent and caring individual who will make sure you pass his class if you try and do homework.
Very good at explaining, if many people do not understand we do not move on.
Explains the concept really well during lectures. Walks around class to make sure everyone understands what's going on. Gives many extensions. Lots of group work. Overall good teacher that cares about students passing.
A typical class with him consists of lecture for about 45 minutes and then 30 minutes of working on example problems with groups. You'll take the quizzes during the seminar with a T.A. and the tests will be with him in a normal class session. The quizzes are not that hard and are only about 5 problems. The exams he gave were open notes as well.
Not the best math teacher I've ever had, but gets the job done. Class wasn't that enjoyable but its manageable to get a good grade.
2 lectures & 2 quizzes per week. HW is not bad because, on Pearson, it gives you example problems most of the time. Monotone lectures. His voice makes me sleepy. Lecture happens the entire time and RARELY is there group work. Tests are hard. Textbook he gives you so you only pay for Pearson which is about 70$. He can be mean but he gets work done.
Very respected professor by the way that he teaches. Homework is easy with the help of the textbook. Tests and quizzes are always open note because it's an online class so he's not really strict. Very chill and laid-back. He will understand any problem you have and will always try to be there for you no matter what.
He was one of the most helpful teachers I ever got for math. Easily accessible and responds to your emails. He explains all the concepts very clearly and makes sure that everyone understands it before moving on. The homework is not that hard as long as you pay attention in class. The test are not that hard as well and are fair.
I took professor Vasquez in Summer 2021. I was so worried to take Calculus I during the Summer, but from day 1, he was so kind & caring about all us. He uses Pearson for homework, quiz, & tests. He does't complicate the material & if you do the homework & study the problems he gives before each test you'll be fine. Take him you won't regret it!
online text 100mins per 7 questions, 14mins to solve one questions, even the professor was doing 7 problems in one lecture, he made so many careless mistakes, and he expects us to somehow better than him; plus, most online answers are required 100% accuracy to get the credits without showing successions. These tests are definitely not the best way
His lectures are great. He doesn't go too fast and he posts the work he does during lecture online. We had every week and I think 2 midterms and a final. I would only take his made classes in the future.
I would say that this class/professor is average. Most of the material I had to learn on my own since the notes were useless. There are quizzes every week and most of the material you learn in class can be solved online. Kind of a tough course, but passable.
If math isn't your strong suit, he won't be the best professor for you. His lecture pace is pretty fast (& gets a lil boring) so it can be easy to fall behind. His teaching style isn't my personal favorite but I think he is approachable and cares about his students. HW isn't heavy. Quizzes/tests are similar to HW & lecture.
He was one of the best professors I took this semester! His lectures are straightforward, and he gives very useful and descriptive examples. Attendance plays a role in your grade, so don't miss class. Nonetheless, easy class!
Roberto's lectures are very fast paced and intimidating if you don't have prior experience in calculus. Be ready to put the work in to study. He is very accessible outside of class for test retakes or extra help, so it's really about how much work you put in to the class, and how much you know beforehand.
This teacher kept me from my 4.0 gpa I had an A all semester then he imputed the final late which I got a 90 on and so I ended with a 89.9. He did NOT round up my .1%. I've never had a 4.0 gpa and tried really hard this semester. Don't take this teacher.
No precalc lectures, just worksheets. The professor claims it's a better learning method, but without lectures, it feels like a minimal-effort approach. Unlike other courses where lectures and labs are paired together and complement each other, this doesn't justify the cost. The class structure is better suited for a community college.
He's a good teacher, I've had him for both pre-calc and calc. he's not that bad once you get to know him. he answers your questions regularly although you might have trouble getting his attention. He is a great teacher and is very understanding if you just ask him. also you get cheat sheets on every test!
His lectures are very fast paced but he is super helpful if you go to his office hours. He takes time working with you one on one. As long as you are taking good notes, you'll be okay for his class! Open notes quizzes and tests. I would definitely retake his class. We have quizzes almost every Thursday but they're super light if you do the homework
He is a great teacher. Although his lectures can be a bit fast paced at times you can talk with him one on one and he will provide a lot of help if you're stuck. He makes it clear from the beginning of the class, what you need to do in order to pass and I'd have to say tests were the hardest part of the class for me so really study for those tests.
SUPER AMAZING PROF! 10/10. Honestly very straightfoward class, he is very clear with what he wants you to know. Always gives you study guide before the exam (with cheat sheet) which is literally the same as the actual exam (just different values). Very respectable person and hardworking!
