One of the best teachers I have ever had!!! Miss her!!!

She is the great teacher. She really wants you pass the class. You even do not need to buy the book because she gives you hand out and posts the important information into her website. Strongly recommnend.

Ohmigod! Wonderful teacher, gr8 person, made experience as fun/enjoyable as possible. Very clear explanations. U can only fail if U don't study. Don't need the book--share w/ study buddy or look up online. Dr. R is very helpful & enthusiastic. Test very straightforward, no surprises, she really wants U 2 learn & comprehend. Luv her!

I loved this Microbiology, and Robin was an awesome teacher. Science is not my strongest subject, but Robin was more than willing to help me and made many resources available to her students. Her enthusiasum about the subject made me want to keep learning. There need to be more professors like Robin, she's one of a kind.

Only had her for the lab portion of BIO 181. Very enthusiastic and fun. She can move a bit fast, but that's just her passion for the subject. I would gladly recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Cotter is very nice/helpful. She is clear about what she wants. She is very enthusiastic - thus sometimes she goes fast. If you attend every class, do your homework & study you'll do well. I only had her for lab, but had no problem getting an A by working hard.

A fun and very enthusiastic teacher. She made Microbiology really easy. She gives you everything you need to pass (I never even used the textbook) and explains things in ways that are easy to understand.

i absolutely adore her. she has to be the funnest most dynamic teacher i've had in my life, she makes the class a real pleasure and she is really good at giving us tips and tools to help us understand the subject. she's always smiling, always helpful and friendly, yet never in a fake, cheesy way. take her, seriously, you'll love her.

Take notes when she's drawing on the board while explaining a concept and you'll be just fine for her exams! She practially gives you the answers when in lecture. She is great at teaching, easy going, and has lots of interesting things to say. I never get tired of striking up a conversation with her. She's a hoot and I'd definately suggest her!

I took BIO181 & BIO205 from Robin and absolutely love her. Her class is a little harder than others, but you learn so much more! Her Microbiology uses applied case studies instead of just memorizing terms. Her enthusiasm is infectious (pardon the pun) and she goes above and beyond to help her students succeed in the course as well as career & life.

Robin is one of a few truly gifted teachers a student will have the pleasure of encountering in their life. The work can be hard but you truly learn something you will retain, rather than just consuming and regurgitating information on command. Her props, scenarios, and memorization tricks are sometimes goofy, but they are also brilliant. A++

I have studied for many years in several countries up to the post graduate level. Dr. Cotter is the embodiment of a microbiology multimedia presentation. Never an 'em' or 'uh'. She serves one purpose and that is to transfer her wealth of knowledge to the individual. She continually cues, prods, pries and reminds you to peak performance. A++++++

Robin is the most helpful and consistent professor. Her grading is always quick, she is very clear on all her lectures and lab assignments. She even provided us with a 3 ring binder and every piece of information we would need for the entire course. There are many assignments in the course with many opportunities to gain points.

Cotter knows microbiology. She knows her lesson plan inside and out(even what page she is instructing from). She is passionate and sets you up to succeed. But you need to step and succeed. She is heavy on the course load(ie case studies). She uses the case studies to build her test.

Wonderful teacher! Robin keeps lectures fun and interesting by adding narratives into her lectures. She comes up with phrases to help students remember tricky information. I took Dr. Cotter my freshman year of college not really knowing what to major in. By the time I was done with her semester, I was heavily involved in biology and I am now working towards a degree in Biomedical Science. If you havent taken bio or for a while, Professor Cotter makes it bearable as long as you do your part! She provides all the resources necessary to succeed. She prints out all notes at the beginning of the semester, so you never need to be scrambling to write notes. Each unit a study guide was given and as hw 1-3 pages due each week. Pick her!

Shes super creative and sweet. Even if you're not positive to pass a test, she'll give you as much points as possible for trying. She hands out alot of paper work but if you do them a week prior, you'll understand EVERYTHING! She teaches amazing in a way for you to understand and shes very involved. Robin is a good teacher if you have previously taken science or chemistry class. some of the material may be hard to understand without background knowledge. she was nice and super helpful and does everything possible to help you pass. lectures are long but she loves what she does. it was a good class but I wouldn't retake it was difficult for me

I thought this class was going to be super harder, I had trouble with bio201 and bio202. But Professor Cotter is just an exceptional teacher, she makes her class interesting. I really loved taking lab with her! Case studies every week or so, extra credit. Shes very dedicated to her class and her students. Even with the Coronavirus she was amazing.

Professor Cotter is a pretty nice teacher obviously it's BIO so you're going to do some work. I only had her for lab, not lecture. As a lab instructor shes great very helpful and definitely tries to accommodate student's needs outside of class as much as possible. In class try not to talk too much she will separate you in a discrete way haha.

I created an account just to highlight how amazing Dr. Cotter is! I was worried about going to an online format due to COVID but Dr. Cotter did an outstanding job of setting us up for success. The notes and lab materials were all given to us a week before class started. She has a real enthusiasm for teaching and leaves no student behind.

She has managed to make online learning as close to the real thing as one can get online. She genuinely cares about whether or not you understand the material and if you know how to apply it. She is extremely well organized and gives all the tools to be successful but you need to use them. Other teachers should follow her formate for online.

I took Professor Cotter for BIO181 and BIO205 and I must say if she taught more subjects I would always choose her. She gives many opportunities to keep your grade up such as completing your study guides and lab pages and participating in lecture and lab. As long as you participate and study the handouts you should ace any course she teaches.

Professor Robin is amazing!! I always looked forward to both lab and lec. She told amazing stories, which help me remember a lot of the things, I struggle with before in bio. If you are heading to class late, or are not able to make it, she is very understandable and will help you catch up. I would totally recommend!!

All the answers would be found in the handouts she had printed out and organized in a binder which she provided for us in the beginning. I enjoyed this class.

I couldn't recommend Dr. Cotter enough. She is such an understanding and wonderful professor who makes microbiology so interesting! Nice to see a professor care about her subject and students so much! She provides all the resources needed to succeed.

Her class was very difficult for me since biology isn't my cup of tea, but she is an amazing professor who truly cares about her students. Her exams are challenging but fair, with no surprises. Even though I'm not a fan of biology, I would take her class again.
