She is just way too hard and unclear for anybody. It seems as if it is her first time giving a lecture, and boy are they long. You have to take tests that are 100 questions long over multiple chapters at a time about stuff you barely even talked about! I can understand this being a 300 level class not 100! Avoid at all costs, take with another prof
Nice teacher, but very hard class. For a mandatory class it should not have been as hard as it was. Her tests are IMPOSSIBLE. She does not provide study guides and her reviews are not helpful at ALL. She expects you to study 200+ slides for each test since she gives you no clue about what material might appear on the exam. Does give extra credit.
Honestly the worst class I have taken thus far. Her exams are nearly impossible to pass. It's to the point that everyone withdraws from her class because they know they'll fail. I strongly don't suggest this professor.
She is very enthusiastic about the topic and is always willing to help... however she grades ridiculously hard. For her environmental class, which is a non-major class, good luck getting higher than a C on a test. She's very nice and helpful, but your grade will suffer regardless of how hard you study
Avoid this professor at all costs, her class is impossible. Her tests and assignments are impossible no matter how hard you try. Her tests consist of 75-80 multiple choice questions, with no study guide. Her reviews are pointless because she doesn't even review a quarter of the information that she puts on her tests. Stay away, take another class.
HORRIBLE ! Hardest class I've taken in college so far. Since I came to UT as a transfer I did not get to choose my professors but if you do this one is a hard no. Gives so many tests which are almost 100 questions long. Each test covers at least 4 chapters which means good luck studying over 200 slides with no study guide.
Very tough grader, will not round your grade up even if you beg, She makes me never want to take a multiple choice test again.
She says participating will enhance you're grade. Not true, even if you participate a lot you're grade will go up like .04 points. Final project is hard. Don't need to take notes, all online. Tests (of 3 chapters) every 3 weeks are HARD. Pearson is hard. Don't take this class unless you want to challenge yourself. More than likely get a low grade.
Professor Glenn is always willing to help with anything. She arrives to class early every day and goes through the previous powerpoint for those who didn't fully understand. She cares about her job and her students. If something doesn't make sense, she will drop everything to explain. Also, there are easy grades to balance out bad grades.
She just lectures the whole class and reads off her slides which she posts online, so it's very boring. Her tests were super hard and she didn't really do much to help better my grade when I made an effort to try and succeed in the class.
DO NOT TAKE her at all, like for any class. If you are enrolled in one of her classes, drop it now. She lectures every class, gives impossible exams, and even harder projects. She designs her class so students fail, NO STUDY GUIDE. I thought it would be manageable since they are multiple choice, every answer is so similar you cant decide.
Every day is a lecture. Doesn't give a study guide bc she GIVES you the ppts. She only puts things on the ppt that will be on the test, so you have a clear idea of what is expected of you. She's a fair grader and her tests aren't hard if you study even a little. Hate the current event assignments but its an easy grade booster. Extra credit offered.
Professor Glenn is awesome. My favorite thing about her is that she is super straight forward. She tells you exactly what you need to do to do well in her class, and as long as you submit everything by the deadline, you will do well. She also posts all of her powerpoints on blackboard which is very clutch. Loved her, very nice, would take again!
Ill start by saying she is a good professor in the sense lectures are easily understood and she is always willing to help and we were given extra credit opportunities. Aside from that, there were assignments after assignments due and sometimes felt she was a little too blunt when giving feedback. Shes a tough grader and her final was confusing.
She just reads off of the slides and expects us to learn from that. You end up teaching yourself the content of the class. Her tests are insanely hard because they're all application questions and are weighted heavily. If you're looking for an easy class with not a lot of work this ISNT it. Cares a lot ab participation and attendance. HARD GRADER.
She reads off the powerpoint. Her assignments arent hard but exams do require studying. Good luck!
Harsh grader for a general bio class. Tests are a ton of information with questions very specific. She will give no mercy. If you can switch then switch now, if you can't then good luck.
If you dont want to lose your mind dont take this class STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLASS. Extremely harsh grader and participation is required(test grade) + no late work accepted at all. Lectures are long and information overload every time ! Dont do it.
If you're looking for a class that you can actually pass, this is not it. You can do all of the studying that you want to do for this class, and it WILL NOT help you. You get so much homework and it will do nothing for your grade. She says to study over 200 terms and whatever she says In class, she speaks super fast.... 10/10 would not recommend!!
Umm it was okay pop quizzes help your grade and this is a lecture class, not really any homework but the tests are really hard.
I highly recommend switching out of her class if you get her. She's a nice person but a really tough teacher and hard grader. Every 2-3 weeks there are huge tests on three chapters each with no study guide, just review days. By far the most stressful and boring class I've ever taken. Either switch to another teacher or drop the class. Trust me.
Glenn is okay when you are actually a good student, if you are not a good student and you are the slacking kind of student who doesn't care about their grades or thinks homework is a joke then you will not pass. All of her lectures are PowerPoints that are online. Everything on the PowerPoints are on the test. Study hard. Not a hard grader.
Don't take her if you can.
She is the absolute worst professor here. Never in my life have I fought so hard for a grade in a class that should be easy and not gotten anywhere. God forbid you need help, she's useless. I understand we need to be independent but caring and showing that you're here for more than just a paycheck goes a long way.
This teacher although is somewhat nice when meeting outside of class asking her simple questions, all of her work is extremely heavy. The tests are near impossible and even with 7 hours+ of studying id still get 60s + 70s. If you don't participate you will not do good, and she gives an insane amount of homework. I do not recommend AT ALL taking her
Prof Glenn is nice in office hours and will make it seem like shes helping you when you go, but none of the advice works. I attended office hours almost every week and bombed all the exams. Her lectures are extremely hard to follow, 70 slides in an hour. MUST participate. This class was unfair and ridiculous. Do not take her.
She is lecture heavy and her exam are not as challenging if you just take her PowerPoint slides and then them into a quiz let. She barely gives homework and when she does it does not take a lot of time. I do not know why her rating are bad, she does teach fast though. No quizzes, just 4 exams and no final. If you just show up to class youre be fin
Amazing! If you don't like science, she still is a great professor. Very helpful and accessible, willing to go above and beyond if you reach out, but has high expectations. Do your work, show up, and have good communication and you'll do great in class. Participation is rewarded, extra credit is given. Super nice!
Terrible professor in every way. DOES NOT AND WILL NOT care. quizes are insane and the midterms/finals made those quiz look easy. will take points off for anything she can. if you have a another choice RUN.
worst professor at UT. terrible in every aspect. take anyone besides her.
A real gem, the best BIO 199L lab professor you'll find at UT. Professor Glenn tells you exactly what you do and don't need to know, provides tons of extra credit opportunities, and is available in and outside of lab to make sure you understand the material. With her, this class was not so hard, and it was really enjoyable too!
She truly loves what she teaches, I just don't know if she loves teaching. She would go through lecture slides so fast and would never slow down for anyone. She didn't care what was going on in your life, she'd take points off for missing class while being sick. I had bronchitis and she told me it was not an excuse to miss class
Exams are impossible and info is rarely on the slideshows
Hard for a gen ed class. Mastering hw for every chpt, have to present 2 current events but won't tell you when so you have to prepare every week, sporadic written assignments, 4 exams, presentation as a final. Every exam is three chpts and covers a lot of info. Mix of multiple choice and written response. She's nice and passionate about the class.
Robin Glenn is an all around typical highschool teacher. She goes through lectures, weekly homework, and gives 100 question (multiple choice) exams. Although they are multiple choice it is easy to get confused since all the answers sound the same. She is a great person, but does not tolerate 0 attendance and late submission (you will get a 0).
Robin glenn is alright, She doesnt really teach and test are very hard with confusing multiple choice exams. Weekly current events are a huge factor in your grade and without doing them you will not pass. She gives some extra credit depending on events throughout the year but she still is a difficult teacher
This class is entirely lecture based, extremely long power points every class. Unnecessarily tough when it comes to grading and she will take off for any small detail she can. Tests are impossible to pass and have nothing to do with any of the power points or the review. She does offer a few extra credit opportunities but it doesn't matter.
This is my worst professor by far this semester. She is unnecessarily hard and really doesn't care about if her students are passing or failing. Do not take her if you have the option. use the other professors.
Bro ion even know where to start this goofy b readin the longest slides tellin us info n the mf goes n grades mii f half the time come onnnnn mane. Its called soccer.
People that say this class is hard clearly do not show up to class or do the homework. If you simply participate in the class lectures by raising your hand or asking questions once in a while, you can receive credit. Homework is due on exam days and can be a handful but if you do it in advance you'll be set.
Easy class, professor lectures every class but that's about it
Professor Glenn is not textbook-heavy, her lectures and tests are based on her PowerPoints. She does a review after each topic. Will help you outside of class if you attend her office hours and will help you get a better understanding of the material and the assignments. There is a decent amount of homework for the semester but it's manageable.
Solid professor, yes her homework does take a lot of time and if you don't study for her test you're not going to do well. But they're are no surprises with the content, she clearly expresses what she expects of you. Just study and you'll be fine. She's a very sweet woman too :).
Absolutely not. Doesn't care about her students at all. Every class is a 60 slide lecture and she zooms through it and it's nearly impossible to stay on pace. Even if you study hard for exams, it doesn't work. She's not lenient at all and will make everything much harder than it should be.
My least favorite professor I have ever had. She does not care about her students at all and the workload is insane. Her tests are insanely hard for no reason and she is a very mean woman. Avoid her at all costs if you can.
I didn't think I would ever write a review but here I am. Robin Glenn is single-handedly the most garbage teacher at UTampa. It actually blows my mine how she has absolutely no sympathy for anyone. The workload is very heavy and she is the worst grader ever. I hope this lady gets fired. She should have no place being a college teacher. 0/10.
Although she is not the best professor, she most definitely isn't the worse. It's not an easy A, you definitely have to try and show up. Prof Glenn is a nice woman and truly cares about the topic. We have weekly presentations on current events, mastering homework due before every exam, some assignments and final project. Class is not easy at all.
Class was always lecture based with review before tests, tests are hard and lots of studying are needed to pass test. Teacher is willing to work with you with accommodation.
class was extremely boring and not very interactive or engaging ... extremely hard for an environmental class and there was way too much work
The class is a lot of work!! Professor is very good at answering emails and providing feedback. The exams are impossible and the HW is long and tedious. Easy grader on other assignments. Overall, I liked Prof. Glenn and would recommend her. Just be ready to work!
She doesn't seem to care much about her students. The exams were extremely hard and the homework was very hard as well. One of the hardest classes I've ever taken even though this was supposed to be an introductory course. Also, she either doesn't return her emails or does not answer your questions.
Prof Glenn is overall pretty good. About 5-10 lengthy homework's per unit but all are given to you weeks in advance with plenty if time to complete them. 1 easy midterm quiz, 3 exams and 1 final presentation. Tests aren't easy but if you study you'll get at least a B. She's pretty funny and gives back the energy you give her, good or bad.
absolutley horrendus teaacher. workload was insane, stood up in front of everyone for an hour and a half blah blah about the slides. tests were impossible to do good on unless you studied for hours and hours on end. she words her questions to set you up for failure. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!!!!!
Overall, the class is boring and tedious. The connect homework is time consuming and difficult, and all the other projects and papers are too much meaningless work. The class is an hour and a half of lecturing, and the professor is not engaging in the slightest. Do not take this class.
Can be tough, but fair.
Professor Glenn has very long presentations but they are available before class so I would recommend copying them down before class. I cannot stress the importance of going to office hours to prepare for exams. She gives amazing feedback on your work and gives good study tips. Just participate and properly study and you will get at least a B.
This professor was so hard. I took this class and it wasn't even for my major and she made this class harder than all of my other ones. There is a test every single week basically and it's over so much information. You sit in that class for 2 hours and she just talks and doesn't teach you anything.
I had Professor Glenn for Environmental Science. I took the class as a requirement rather then interest, so I found the class tedious either way. On the other hand, Professor Glenn would hold classes where all she did was read of the powerpoint. The exams were very difficult, the amount of homework is obsene. But she did let her 2h class 30m early.
Took this class as a gen ed so I wasn't interested going into it but the lectures dragged and were not engaging at all. The exams were very difficult + hard to study for. You also have to pay in order to do the homework assignments. It is basically impossible to get an A in this class, I don't recommend this course at all.
Hell nah this one ain't it, switch out or pick a new professor from the jump.
Lecture heavy. Every other class is spent going through long slideshows, she expects you to take notes. All materials available on canvas after class. Couple of group projects and extra credit opportunities. She relies on you to come to her if you're struggling in the class. Id take this course again, I learned a lot. Attendance very mandatory!
This class has been nothing but torture. She reads off the slides and then continues to yap about anything and everything. Make sure you put your listening ears on as she doesn't apply what you need to know for the extremely hard exams. Overall, AWFUL professor and i do not recommend her as she is unfair.
I'm so happy I finally got out of Robin Glenn's ENS112 class. She doesn't grade fairly and I would advise everyone to not take this professor. Her lectures are gruesomely long and the exams are borderline impossible to get an A on.
Straight power trip.
na na na na you have to drop immediately, worst teacher I've ever had. makes exams impossible to get an A. I mean literally impossible no-one got A's
terrible, drop it or just don't take.
cool ------------
I would 1000% never be with teacher again. I'm an online student. She made my nights stressful for her out of order ways of doing things. If it's not to her exact standards. i get a 2/10. ByEeeee!!!
She is a tough grader and exams are pretty wordy. I took her for Urban Sustainability and say my average for exams was an 80 even though I studied hard. The exam in the beginning to see how much we know, 80% of it has nothing to do with what she teaches though. She's good but just difficult at times, not a class to slack in.
Lost sleep over this class. The most stressful professor I have ever had so far. DO NOT MISS THE HW, YOUR GRADE WILL DROP 10+ POINTS WITH NO MAKE-UP. For anyone who needs to to take this class, this is your warning to try and find another professor. I'm an A student, and I struggled to keep a B
all homeworks and assignments go with the quizzes plus many opportunities for extra credit, she also has review everyday which no other teachers have, such a easy A
I was required to take a natural science distribution course for my major, thought this would be an easy A– I was wrong. I studied for hours, haven't gotten an A on any exam. I could've been using that time for classes related to my major. Also homework assignments are on McGraw Hill and take hours to complete.
Professor Glenn is great! Every class she gives a review of the past lecture which is super helpful. She also gives these jeopardy review which are very similar to her tests. Test can be hard. But if your in tune with her lectures and participate in class you'll do fine.
She gives tons of extra credit, jeopardy before each exam, also reviews notes at the start of each class, if you go to class and do a lil bit of studying its easy to get an A, i was never a science person and this class was a breeze.
She is very quick to respond to emails and has many group projects. The tests are on the material given in class. Not a horrible professor or class. If you make an effort, email her, and go to office hours if needed, you will be fine.
Professor Glenn's teaching style made the class hard to follow. Lectures felt disorganized, and she rarely clarified confusing material. When students asked for help, her responses often came off impatient, which discouraged participation. I left the course feeling unsupported and unprepared.
withdrew form her class, gave me nightmares. Professor Glenn seemed uninterested in student success. She moved quickly through material without checking for understanding and gave minimal feedback. When students struggled, she appeared irritated rather than supportive. The class felt more intimidating than educational.
I struggled to connect with Professor Glenn's teaching style; lectures felt rushed and hard to follow.
During lectures, Professor Glenn frequently struck me as being careless. It was difficult for me to remain confidence because of the harsh and contemptuous way she responded whenever I asked for clarification. Her tone overpowered a lot of the learning process for me, even though the content itself was interesting.
Glenn's interactions with the students were the main reason I found the class difficult. She occasionally did a good job of explaining things, but when someone was having difficulty, her delivery could come across as impolite or irritated. It created a tight and challenging atmosphere.
often felt like Glenn didn't take student concerns seriously.
One of the biggest challenges in her class was how unclear the grading system felt. Assignments were returned without much explanation, leaving me unsure of what to improve.
international student here, are all US professors this way, if so i'm considering returning to germany
Glenn had a habit of reading directly from her slides, which made her lectures feel monotone and disengaging. It was difficult to stay interested for the full class period.
I noticed Glenn rarely acknowledged student ideas during discussions. She would move on quickly, which made the conversations feel one-sided and unwelcoming.
Glenn rarely checked in with the class to see if we were understanding the material. That lack of awareness made it easy for the whole room to fall behind.
I sometimes felt like Glenn assumed everyone had prior knowledge of the subject. It made the learning curve steeper than it needed to be.
One mistake and your grade is ruined, I took ens 137, wasn't an option when selecting, new course she teaches I believe. She has no empathy for students and extremely unrealistic expectations. She doesn't care about her students well being and would much rather see you fail then succeed.
Glenn's slides were crammed with text, and she moved through them so fast that I barely had time to take notes.
Glenn didn't seem to notice when the entire class was lost. She just kept pushing forward instead of slowing down.
you'll learn more from a rock than from her, she don't know nothing bout nothing
spends the entire class gloating about how her son is so responsible and the perfect student, so dang annoyin, seems like she's comparing him to us and saying he's better. bruh
terrible at her job
It felt like Glenn was teaching for herself, not for us. She ignored every sign that the group needed a breather.
Doesn't let you turn in any late work. Lectures are long and boring. Tests don't have study guides.
Taking a class with Professor Glenn felt like a constant uphill battle. She has a zero-tolerance policy on deadlines. Her teaching style is monotone and hard to follow, and the tests always include material she never explained. There's absolutely no guidance for how to prepare.
Glenn's course structure is rigid to the point of being unreasonable. She won't accept late submissions under any circumstance, and the workload piles up fast. Lectures are long, repetitive, and unengaging. When exams come around, she provides no study aids whatsoever, leaving everyone confused and stressed.
Glenn enforces deadlines like she's guarding a vault. One minute late, and it's an automatic zero. Her lectures are painfully slow, and she rarely interacts with students or checks for understanding. Her exams cover obscure details, and without a study guide, they're nearly impossible to prepare for.
This class felt like a chore from day one
Professor Glenn's class was easily the least engaging course I've taken. Her lectures stretch on forever with no interaction.
Not completely her fault as the class she teaches is an already boring subject. I was unaware that it was a science class, in which case I would've taken a physics course as I would learn more from it. She is knowledgeable in her field, yet the field is something that you will never use in life, in which case the class comes off as insufferable.
dont take if you wanna keep your sanity.
So kind and truly cares about all of her students. As someone who struggled in high school with environmental science this class actually made me understand science. Every class was a lecture and there were always opportunities to have discussions. Homework weighed almost as much as exams which helped grade overall.
Robin Glenn actually cares about you. Even though there is a lot of homework, she has a lot of extra credit assignments. exams are a bit hard, but you can make up with extra credits she gives.
this professor coming from the depth of mine and everyone else soul. never ever take this class ever. she is one of the rudest, stuck up professor you will ever meet. Homework will take you 6-7 hours per week. her test are not good was proud of an 82 being the highest. Will accuse you of cheating and faking a doctor notes.TRY TO NOT CRY!!!!!
