If you're actually interested in learning about the human body, choose Robin. She will teach more than the other professors, and you will LEARN more than with the others. She offers extra credit and 3x5's on lecture tests. I have never learned so much valuable information in one class. I LOVE this professor.

This class made so many students less confident in their ability to be in the medical field. She grades based off what she wants to hear and she wants them in depth even if theyre simple answers. Lots of extra credit, but barely helps your grade. Not easy to approach, makes you feel dumb. She makes it harder than it really is. I dont recommend.

I took Robin for lecture and lab. Her lectures are not helpful at all and her lab was okay but she was all over the place. By the end of the semester, she was so off track that two weeks before the final we didn't see her at all did not know what to expect for lab final and were tested on material we didn't even learn I would not recommend at all.

She is a tough grader. Only graded on what she wants to hear even if you have the right answer, shell mark it wrong if its not the way shed write it. Study guides have nothing to do with the tests. Awful teacher. You learn nothing, and she drops your confident level super low. I highly recommend another teacher.

Cancels classes right before they are scheduled, forgets to post modules, Her tests are HARD, no matter how hard and long you study her tests will stump you! Her teaching style is very scatted and hard to follow. I felt that because she canceled co many lecture classes I was forced to teach myself which. DO NOT TAKE CLASS FROM HER!!

This is the teacher that will make you want to pull your hair out while simultaneously shaping you into a better student, and tougher person for that matter. You're going to have to memorize a lot, but you're going to need to understand even more. She expects essays on tests, so a thorough understanding of concepts is essential to pass. Love/hate..

Robin is one of the most amazing professors at Cabrillo, before Covid occurred she really looked out for her students and wanted everyone to pass with equal opportunity. Since covid her testing methods have changed, her exams are extremely difficult, most don't even cover material she went over. However if you communicate with her she will help!

Anatomy is a hard subject & Robin explains it very well! She cares about students & is very knowledgeable. Ok with open notes on exams, which are HARD for lecture & easy for lab. Study power points, go to SI & read the book. Lab & lecture treated as separate classes. A lot of study time req, accepts late work, extra topics completed independently.

Robin is really sweet and caring! The exams were way more detailed than the lectures but everything was open note. She responds really quickly and is always willing to help. It was a lot of material but I think she did a fairly good job at explaining everything. The book also helps for topics you are confused about.

I had Robin's class with Sharron B. and BOTH professors were SOO kind and sweet. They are both so understanding that sometimes difficult situations come up and are very gracious about turning things in. I missed a few assignments by accident and they were so understanding about it. They used APR for the lab section and it was very easy to use!

Robin is brilliant and really knows her stuff. This would be a great class to take to prepare you for physio because she is sooo detailed. She is pretty disorganized which can be frustrating, but she's also really sweet and willing to accommodate you. Pay attention to everything she says in lecture/go to SI/do the study guides and you'll do well

I loved this class but it was hard. I took it as a summer intensive and it felt like a full time job. Robin is a really caring teacher and helped me a lot on my journey into grad school. I relistened to lectures and did lots of reading, the material is pretty dense and extremely concept heavy. Be prepared to put the time in.

Feel at home and explains everything down to students level due to Anatomy and Physiology background. Great approachable proffessor! One of the best ones and I am glad I had my bio classes with Robin Bio 4 and Bio 5 because Spring 2022 was her last semester of teaching to become the vice president of Cabrillo College Aptos. Thank you Robin. A.C.

I learned so much from Robin. Extremely caring and present professor. I will say that Anatomy was waaaaay harder than I anticipated. It will be overwhelming for even the most academically inclined. If you listen to her lectures, attend SI, and sign up for the support class, you'll do great. I'd do it all over again with Robin!

Robin (Dr. McFarland) was super sweet and caring, really wants you to learn and is extremely pragmatic & fair about grading and assignments. Her Powerpoint slide info makes up like 80-90% of lecture questions, but her multiple choice can be tricky, so absolutely spend many hours completing her study guide outlines.

One of my favorite professors! She is kind, caring, funny, and is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the material. No question is a stupid question in her class, as she is encouraging towards all her students. Tests are challenging but are graded on a curve, and corrections and extra credit is available to regain points.

Terrible experience. Has no clear teaching algorithm. Gives exams without proper preparation. Lewd jokes made often, at times with malice or presumption. She is funny in her lectures, and she is also a joke when it comes to teaching a class. Go figure. Do yourself a favor and take Penny Carrol's BIO 4 or anyone else's for that matter.

I love Robin! She is so sweet and really wants people to do well. She offered extra credit and test corrections, which I think is so great because I am not a great test taker. Her lectures are important; some test questions will be pulled from the depths of one. Without tutoring and SI, I might not have done as well. Time-consuming, but worth it.
