Summer BIOL256. She is a great teacher. Tells you exactly what is expected. Do the work get an A.
Fantastic professor. VERY organized, punctual, professional, very intelligent. One of the best professors I've ever had!
Great professor. She is very organized, and you know exactly what is expected. She seems to get to know each student, which doesn't often happen.
Excellent teacher. Robin is extremely knowledgeable, and by far one of the fairest teachers I have ever had. As previously stated, she clearly outlines her expectations and with some work it is likely to get a good grade in the class. If you have to take BIOL 256 you won't find a better teacher than Robin.
She is 33 years old with a Phd in Nutrition, need I say more? Yet she is down to earth and a nice person. I found the textbk helpful. More chemistry than I expected. More like a food science class. My ONLY complaint is that, by her own admission, she likes trick questions which I found strange because it does nothing to help the learning process.
Really nice, gives extra credit, wants you to pass. She is a little distracting with her slides bc she bounces back and forth. I really did enjoy her.
Dr. Minor is awesome. She's smart and witty. She cares about her students. She will also have opportunities for extra credit. Her tests are MCQ format. Her tests contain lots of info., so you must study to pass. Nice lady !
robin was a great teacher the slides are helpful because all you need to study is off of the slides the course itself is difficult one but do all the extra credit offered its a must to improve your grade! i would take another course by robin
Excellent teacher! If I had her the first time I took A&P1, I would not have had to repeat a second or third time! Third times a charm. I went from a "C" to an "A". She is so clear about the material. I am a visual learner, so the power points and small video clips are extremely helpful. Great teacher! I would highly recommend Ms. Robin!
Robin is awesome she only makes you know things that are necessary not the whole book! She uses her own slides which I loved and those are what the tests were based off of. She also offers extra credit for both lab and lecture which helps tremendously. She even gives you partial credit on questions ! Definately must take her, you won't regret it!!'
Robin is the best teacher i have ever had.I would def take her! She is easy to understand. She is organized, punctual, very smart and approachable. She keeps class going with her jokes and unfiltered speaking. She makes it a point to know each student individually. She want every student to get an A and gives extra credit and there are no suprises.
Robin is a wonderful lecturer. She makes biology much better than expected, she does not trick or complicate issues, she is straight forward and lets you know what is expected of you. her teaching skills are excellent and her power points very clear. I would recommend her to any one and especially those who have given up on biology.
Robin Minor is the professor you have been searching for! I rated the easiness of the class as a 5. This is not to say the class is easy. I worked my butt off studying to earn my grades, but an A is easily attainable if you study and complete all assignments. Extra credit opportunities are given. I am also taking her BIOL 221 class. Loved her!
Great instructor, hard subject but clear teaching style.
I've had a few teachers at CCBC and I find this one for A&P the better than most. She is very interested in you but you have to put in the time. Every exam was fair and straight from notes she gave also had a huge amount of extra-credit work.If you can't get an A from Minor you should not be going into the any science program. Take her class.
Robin had a sincere interest in her students and their success. Pleanty of extra credit helped, straight forward tests, and a good sense of humor.
Robin made the class very interesting. I actually enjoyed coming to class. I really appreciated her teaching style and the extra credit she offers. She is very helpful but hardwork is still required in this course.
she is one of the best professor in the world...
Great teacher! The delivery of the course content was clear and most helpful. A's don't come easy though. You have to study. Also, make sure you submit your assignments including extra credits on time. The power points slides are also very helpful for the exams.
Treats all students equally. Excellent, fair, consistent, honest, reliable, intelligent teacher. Great personality. I enjoyed her class. MC tests. No surprises. Slides extremely helpful. Hard class as are BIO classes. A lot of studying req. Highly recommend.
Probably one of the best teachers i've ever taken. She makes Nutrition fun. You will have to study hard, but if you do you'll definitely pass her class.
The best professor ever!!! NICE, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, FUN. The load of studying materials are easy and not too stressful. The class is interesting. The tests are straight forward base on the materials cover in class. The professor also gives students opportunity to earn points back for assignments & tests . good luck!!!
She is very smart and very nice. There is a lot of content to learn for this class but she is very approachable if you have a question. We had presentations to give but they were fun. I would take another one of her classes in a heartbeat.
extremely fair and extremely helpful. If you want an A in this class, expect to work, and expect to read a little. She will keep you engaged and interested no matter who you are.She also has a great sense of humor.
Professor Robin is one of the best. You have to be ready to Study, she makes it easy by giving lots of extra credits and limiting her questions from her slides. You can read all her slides in one week and pass Anatomy and physiology with an A. You need to read the textbook before coming to class to increase your understanding of new concepts.
she is very helpful and gives extra credit.Very precise with instruction. Overall she gives the students the proper tools to pass this class however the class is hard be prepared to give 100% of your time and effort.Take her you won't regret.
Dr. Minor excels in making nutritional biochemistry comprehensible and relevant to real-life. She also does an outstanding job of connecting nutrition to socio-cultural and socico-economic issues, both here and globally. She had the class attend an event called the Oxfam Banquet that brought home the reality of food insecurity.
Very hard, she give two set of exams and quizzes and she have a policy that she says to her students that a student can have all A's or B's on the lecture exams but if they don't pass the lab they fail the course. she gives extra credits but they are not really helpful at all at the end.
LOVE HER!!!!!! Great teacher
Wonderful teacher!! Absolutely loved her! Her exams are very easy and straight forward if you put in the time and study. She offers multiple ways to receive extra credit. She makes A&P not as boring as it really is. Her labs are also much better than others as she gives you worksheets/labeling exercises to do instead of leaving you on your own.
This was her 1st semester teaching bio110 & she didnt do so bad. There were some frustrating times b/c she didnt know the content so well but she always tried her best to help out her students grades & offered several opportunities to better your grade. loved her & plan to take her in the future. Work hard & you will get a good grade.
this was her first time teaching bio 110 and she was stressed out, but she handled it very well. she is a very fair teacher. she does not give you very much slack, but she defiantly goes way out of her way to help you get the best grade you can get. a lot of extra credit, and she always makes sure you know whats coming up and what she expects.
I highly recommend taking Dr Minor for Nutrition. She is very fair in grading- you get the grade you deserve if you put the effort into it. She really gets to know her students, which most professors could care less to even get to know your name. Straight forward with quizzes/exams. Probably the best professor I have ever had!
I highly recommend taking Nutrition with Robin Minor. She is very fair with grading- you get the grade you deserve if you put the effort into it. She is very interested in getting to know her students- most professors won't even learn your first name. Straight forward with quizzes/exams. Probably the best professor I have ever had!
Robin is by far the best professor I have ever had. She is so helpful and really wants her students to succeed. She will do whatever it takes to make sure you are actually learning the material.
Robin is an incomparably incredible professor - absolute best I've ever had! She is fun, funny, dedicated, intelligent, and truly brings her passion for teaching, for course material, and always for her students. She calls u by name, challenges u, pushes u to be ur best & is always thinking of new ways to improve class & help each students succeed!
Clear and descriptive lecture presentation of all material. Makes science interesting and in turn the grade comes easy if you listen.
I loved Professor Robin she is awesome!!! The absolute best! She is fun, funny, dedicated, intelligent, and truly has passion for teaching this course and she is always there for her students. She calls you by name and makes you feel good even if your struggling! I just hope I passed I wasn’t studying till the end and was just making it
Robin is a great person, but she makes double the work out of a very hard class. She does give a lot of extra credit, but the assignments made me feel like I was taking a high school class and not a college course. You have to fill out the pp, do assignments, write exam questions, all before exam day.
Read the book, slides, and do the assignments carefully to get the full points. She is a fun, fair, and great teacher.
THE BEST! She truly has a talent for teaching !!! Dr. Minor is full of enthusiasm and happy spirit! Very helpful and interested in teaching! Uses fun & creative ways to simplify complex material.I took her for A&P1, A&P2 and Nutrition, and truly miss her classes! Be prepared to study VERY hard for her classes, and you will be rewarded accordingly!
Ms Robin is a great professor. She was very helpful in lecture and explained things thoroughly until we understood them. I would recommend her to anyone!
Needing to take Biology? Take Ms. Minor. She is great. She is passionate about what she is teaching and keeps lab interesting. She follows the syllabus, and posts all lectures prior to the lecture date online. The tests are very similar to the quizzes, and she is extremely fair. I look forward to taking her for the rest of my sciences.
This is my 2nd degree so I've had a lot of professors. Dr. Robin Minor is by far the best professor I have ever taken. This woman is outstanding. A&P is not an easy class but she makes you want to learn with her clear teaching methods, easy going personality and passion for the subject. Her classes generally fill up quickly. Take her if you can!
Dr. Minor is an amazing professor! If you have to take Bio classes, take it with her! If you put in the work, study, and show up, you should have no problem passing with an A. You MUST be willing to study or you will not pass this class. She does offer a lot of extra credit, so that would help some!
I took Dr minor for bio 110. previously i had dr anson but i ended up dropping his class because i was failing. i walked out of minors class with an A. she gives quizzes which are very helpful with the lecture tests. her questions for the tests are pretty staright forward. you def have to put in study time and you will do fine. highly recommend
This professor is wonderful. She wants you to have a full understanding of the material. You will have to read and do homework and multiple projects and or take home assignments. However, the assignments are not easy but the aid in giving you a better understanding of the subject matter. She is ready and willing to help you. You have to ask.
I had to pick one class I had Professor Minor for, the truth is I had her for Biol 220, 221, and 256 ( Nutrition). She is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. She prepared me well for the nursing program which I start in the fall. I highly recommend taking her if it's possible!
Robin Minor is hand's down the best professor I've ever had. A+P is a tough class but she simplifies the material and really makes it interesting. All exam questions are pulled straight from her lecture slides and she gives countless extra credit opportunities. I wish she taught 221 in the fall so I could take her again!
robin has a very positive spirit that would inspire the slowest student to rise. her class has this calm, encouraging atmosphere that will keep you wanting to try and try and try again. there are way too many activities that will keep you engaged all through the semester. you learn without even knowing it.
Gives extra credit
I LOVE Professor Minor! I have taken her for Bio 220, Nutrition, and I am signed up to take her for Bio 221. She is absolutely fantastic. She does everything she can to help you, she offers plenty of extra credit, and is VERY clear on what you need to know and study. I got an A in Bio 220 because I did exactly what she asked. She is the BEST.
Mrs. Robin has a clear grading policy. You do have to put in study time but she is so inspirational. She will explain it to you as best as she can. Very upbeat. Does give extra credit and her quizzes are a great study tool for lectures. She gives you so many things to help you succeed! I am taking her for BIO221 and Nutrition!
Biology 110 was an essential course for my Nursing degree, I had the honor of Ms. Minor to teach me. The way she explained the material was very easy to understand, I don't think I would of passed if I would of had another teacher. I'm taking Anatomy and Physiology 220 in the spring, and I'm bummed that her class is full and isn't available. : (
Professor Minor was a wonderful instructor for Nutrition! I enjoyed her knowledge and she was so kind and fun. She often brought in different foods to try, which were good surprisingly!!
She was my favorite professor I have ever had! I am going to miss having her as a teacher.I learned so much from her and I think she is amazing .She does so much for Baltimore and get's the class involved to. Absolutely brilliant! I wish I had taken her for both anatomy classes that I needed to. She keeps you interested and is very organized .
Ms. Robin is such a great professor. I have taken her for both A&P classes. It is tough but not that you will not pass. You need to put in your share of work as in studying. She is there to help you and has no problems doing so. She is funny during lectures. They are not boring. I very much enjoyed these classes with her. Im taking bio256 with her
I loved her class. She definitely keeps your attentions she is very funny and moves at a fast pace . What your grade is when you finish will 100% be your grade though so if you want an a make sure you have nothing less then 90% even if you end with a 89.5 respectfully your getting a b I wish I needed more classes with her!!!
Robin is my best lecturer yet. she has loads of positive energy and love for what she does. lots of extra credit opportunities. you will study and learn without feeling the pressure and stress of it. she is very accessible and down to earth. she treats each student with particularity and gives a sense of belonging to participate in some class work.
She is the real deal everyone! She is funny, smart, inspirational and sliced bread. The material is hard, but she will explain it in such a way you walk away understanding it all. Sure, you have to put in the time, but you walk out knowing the concepts that are essential to memorization. Or try to be stumbling block like many burnt out professors.
Ms. Minor has a lot of energy and knows her stuff! The class was tough, but if you put in even half the work time at home that she requests, you will do well. She uses lecture slides instead of the book, and includes video links that are helpful in understanding the material better. If I had to take any more Bio it would definitely be with Robin!
I love Professor Minor, she is the BEST teacher ever. I got A in BIo 220, BIo 256 And BIo 221.
If you want a teacher that knows what he/she is talking about, it's Professor Minor. She is an amazing teacher who cares about all her students and helps prepare them for harder classes or the future in general.
Ms. Robin Minor is one of those teachers who knows the subject very well and keeps you active. I am a visual learner and she is pretty good at it. If you complete your projects on time and study hard, she is the teacher to choose. There is no doubt in her teaching and if you be attentive in class, you never fail the exam. I can definitely recommend
She has some students she Favour's and she is a very mean lady that does not care about students. I was sick and that made me to missed some classes and pop up quiz. I was only left with few points to have a B in her class but she gave me C because I didn't fall in her Favourites students.
Robin is amazing. Took her for 220 and 221. Her lectures are from the book, but does not include everything. Tests are multiple choice and from power points, not text book (though you still need to read). Lots of chances for extra credit and she gives outside work and quizzes to add to the lecture and practical grades. You will need to study.
It's Biology, not trig. It was great I've taken all of her courses I even waited to take her again before I entered my SHP program. I had gotten excellent grades from her and I preferred her teaching method. I heard so many horror stories about BIology, but she really made me think perhaps those ppl should've had a gem like her. Study Hard!
Great professor. She gives a lot of work but 100% of it is to prepare you for exams and its always stimulating. She will never waste your time. Ive taken her for two classes and I learned so much. Her whole class is like a fun game of biology trivia.
Mrs Minor is a nice teacher and takes the time to talk to her students and does give you a chance to get the points you need. However her tests are very hard and in my opinion worded poorly. A lot of the questions have more then 1 answer and she expects you to know all the right answers to get full credit. Lots of assignments and volunteering.
Robin Minor has been an amazing teacher! She genuinely cares about her students, her work and the college. She takes her time to explain things clearly & gives enough extra credit for it to actually make a difference. She has a great teaching strategy and all of her test questions come straight off of the lecture slides. Everything straight forward
Its really easy to follow along and know whats going on because she is extremely organized and structured. She knows everybodys names by the second or third class meeting. All of her assignments and extra credit build towards her exams. She is a great professor and she puts in a lot of hard work. You can also use any reasonable textbook.
Robin is amazing! I took her for 110, 220, and 256. She focuses on key points and gives you opportunities to fix things so you truly learn and understand the material. She genuinely cares about each of her students and will go out of her way to make sure you are on track. Take her, you won't be disappointed!
I love Mrs Robin ! She is the best professor Ive ever had. I took her for bio 110 and bio220 . She cares about everyone and wants to see everyone do well. If you put the time in , youll pass . This class is hard , but as she would say, shes your biggest cheerleader. I would HIGHY Recommend her.
This class is hard!!! For some reason the level of difficult is at a 2.5 out of 5, I would say its more like an 4 out of 5 . It is a lot of material but she helps you get through it .
Absolutely my favorite Biology professor ever. I took her for 221 & 256 even though Catonsville campus is closer to me she was worth the drive. She's extremely nice and truly wants you to pass. She makes her exams very hard but doable if you study enough. There are a lot of opportunities for extra credit. I wish I could take her for all my bio clas
Mrs Minor is a good person. I felt as though I couldnt succeed to the best of my ability in her class however. She offers many options for books to get for the class but this posed a problem because not all of the material matched up with the book I got. Also I felt like she treated us like we were in highschool assigning homework almost every clas
Overall shes a great person and does her best to help people. Her tests however are very difficult and you need to pay attention to the wording, although she does give a lot of homework and other assignments that compensate if you got a low test grade. Make sure you take good notes during lectures or youre basically screwed. Try recording lecture
I had to WD because she does not give make-up exams for any reason. I was recovering from surgery and had to attempt to take a Lab Practical. If you know that you could potentially miss a quiz/test, then I recommend not taking this class.
Mrs. Robin is the best professor I have ever had .I took her for 110 ,230 and even felt comfortable enough to take her for 256 during the winter. Everything that you need to know is included in her slides. If you leave class and don't understand something, utilize the book or youtube videos. Study hard and you will pass.
At 1st it did seem like a lot of work . you can't skim through you MUST read. There is lot of studying and understanding the concept on your own. Her exams comes directly from the power points. Lecture exam can be a little tricky and heavy but lab practicals are easy. Gives lot of extracredit she is very caring. If i could take her again I would.
Robin was a great professor. If you study hard and do your part. She does gives lots of help and extra credit. This was an accelerated A&P class which I would not recommend in the spring semester as the weather impacted our time and the pace was very fast. I would take Robin again hands down
After my terrible experience with another professor (resulting in failing the course), I was pessimistic coming in to retake this course. Professor Minor is extremely flexible. She listens and asks the class what she can do to make life easier. Very willing to compromise. Lecture is hard, but she tries to explain it in common terms.
Had her as a sub. Absoultely fantastic for everyone, especially visual learners! Would not mind taking an actual class of hers.
She doesn't say anything when you're late. Take good notes and come to every class. The tests are hard but all the other assignments are easy to earn a 100 on. Talk to her after class and come early to turn in assignments. She offers a good amount of extra credit. I will end up with like 16pts. Take good notes and study every day from day one. love
One of the worst professors I've ever had. She gets distracted easily and goes off the subject, shes all over the place. Get ready to read and memorize the entire textbook. You will be teaching yourself the majority of the material. She isn't helpful when you ask a question. The powerpoints she uses to teach her lectures are blank and not in order.
She doesn't care about her students and it seems like she has ADHD.
Robin did a great job of using lecture, white board, YouTube's, and models to throughly explain the material for all different types of learners. She made class and lecture fun with her high energy and quick wit. Lot's of opportunity for extra credit!! I do believe she really cares about each and every student she has.
not a good teacher for anatomy and physiology or nutrition - exam questions are super tricky and gives a lot of questions with not a lot of time to answer them. very short pointed class - therefore you need to do well on all exams and other material. she is very scattered brained and is not great at explaining things. Taught myself both classes ...
I took 220 with her during the summer, which was a very short semester. She was super helpful and gave lots of extra credit opportunities. She had her lectures online, which helped a lot (I could repeat parts I didn't understand). Also, her exams didnt have tricky wordings. Not an easy class but was enjoyable & I learned a lot. Highly recommended!
She is VERY NICE, and wants you to do well in her course - she allows you to make corrections to assignments. Her tests are very difficult. class is online, so cant say how she is as a teacher in person. The online lectures are ALL OVER the place, there is no guidance what will be on the tests, making it impossible. Class avg. on 1st test was 70%
Prof. Minor is a nice woman and I have heard great things about her, that is why I took her. She may be great in person, but online she is terrible. She jumps from one thing to another in her lecture videos and doesn't give an outline on the exam. Exams are HARD - especially being a 3 cr class. Class average is 67% overall presently. Do not recom.
This prof. is hard. I took her based upon the reviews, do not take her based off of them. She makes exams extremely difficult to prevent cheating and gives you less time to take them. 4 Exams & they are super hard - and most points come from them so u need to do well. 3 Practicals & they aren't terrible, but still difficult. Class avg is 72%.
this teacher is terrible. we just took our second exam in her class and nobody received above a C. I wish I could withdrawal from her class, but can't. don't listen to reviews this teacher is hard and makes things more difficult then they need to be. 4 exams 60 questions with like no time to take the exam and 3 practicals loaded w info. don't take.
for a 3 credit course - this class is hard. she doesn't give much time in between exams so everything feels rushed. seems like she has ADHD. she jumps all over the place during lecture. exams don't line up with what you study from her slides. just read the textbook and save yourself stress from filling out all the blanks in the slides..
Prof Minor is awesome! This is my first time taking her & I'd def take again. Super sweet & she cares about her students and them excelling in class (and life). Responds quickly to emails. Thorough in explanations to questions. Extra credit opportunities. Uses respondus & webcam. Exams & lab practicals are usually about 60 ?s. Online bc covid.
I don't understand how this teacher has such great reviews. She is terrible, I took her based upon these reviews and I so regret it. You're graded off of 5 exams and 4 practicals. You have to fill out slides which can be over 150+ slides loaded with information & doesn't give you an idea of what will be on the exams and practicals. Just don't take.
graded by few things, makes things extra hard just because she can. the most points you earn is through exams - so if you bomb one you screwed by a letter grade bc there is no bringing it up. just saving you the trouble of reading this poor reviews, she may be better in person, but ONLINE she is god awful. do not recommend.
All I have to say is, beware. You're graded off few things - so you have to do well in order to get a half decent grade. offers some extra credit, but doesn't really help any. Class is online due to COVId. She uses lockdown browser w camera - thats a deal breaker for some. 5 exams 4 practicals around 60 questions.. not a lot of time to take them.
I just took the final early in this class due to personal issues - here is an overall review of her class. IT IS HARD. All the exams are weighted heavy and you need to do well. You will need to read the textbook & the slides are lengthy - you have to fill them in yourself. The final is cumulative. She is hard & will make you WORK for your grade. GL
I just had my last class with Robin. She is very sweet - and wants you to succeed in her class. On the other hand.. the material is very hard and very tricky. You need to go beyond the slides and really dig into the textbook in her class to earn decent grades on exam. Offers a decent amount of extra credit - but u need to do well on exams IOT pass.
This is my second time taking A&P 2 - class is built to be hard which I understand, but what I don't understand is how this teacher has such great reviews. She hops all over the place in class and never makes full sense. Her PPTS are super lengthy and u have to fill them out yourself. The only way to get pts in class is through exams and practicals
this prof gives way too much stuff to do the last two weeks of class - i have 6 exams to take just for her class. not only to mention the final exam is cumulative and over 100 question - just flat out unreasonable when she also has you taking exam 3 , lab practical the week of the final & then have exams the week before to study for- no time
i feel like this class would have gone so much better if it were not taught online. I took robin due to all the amazing reviews i read on her, and while she may be a great teacher for in person, i do not think online is her thing. Pretty much the whole class is not doing well, and she gives way too much work.
I first took this class, along with several other science class, over 13 years ago, both community college and university. This is the first science professor Ive had that took the time to explain the simple things, so that the larger things would make more sense. Lots of extra credit. Lots of extra helpful practice. TAKE HER! And put the work in.
A lot of these bad reviews were based on being via online because of the circumstances of today! She did awesome! In ways it was more demanding but she gave us to have every oppurtunity to pass. If you adjust well and read the material that she gives. You will find a good Prof. Prof. Minor went above and beyond than she could have!
During this time, was very helpful and gave us all of the tools and then some! Just needed to look at the course material in black board. She really was determined to make us understand as much as possible. Good choice as a future professor!
Prof Minor gives every opportunity for you to succeed but a&p II has a lot of difficult material so you really have to put in the study time. Her tests are difficult but she just wants you to understand the material. Lots of extra credit and perks to boost grade. I would definitely take her again.
Even tho o withdrawal from her class due to person reasoned she is really good her and Dr G
