She's very anal. If you are late at all, you are counted absent for the whole day. She insists that you check her website every day to not miss something or you get a 0 on assignments that she should tell us about in class. Not everyone has access to a computer everyday. She's good on clarity tho.

Her class is pretty helpful. She tends to repeat herself about inconsequential things every day, wasting a good 15 minutes reminding us of the TA's names. She posts homework after class, so you can't get ahead. Tests are not that bad. You have to go to class because you have an assignement to do in class every single class.

Good at teaching/explaining the material. Although attendance is not mandatory, if you want to pass you'd better be in class. She assigns A LOT of work. don't wait til' the last weekend to do the practice sets. Her tests are pretty hard and lengthy. There are only 3 tests, includes the final so be careful. She can be rude depending on her mood.

Very clear, sometimes annoying but worth it because shes very explanatory. Tests are hard but you get used to it.

This class requires that you show up everyday if you do this i cannot see any reason why you shoulnt make a B. She has her own lecture booklet which explains thing clearer than the text. She is willing to help you outside of class.Test are OK, a few in class assignments. Overall Great Teacher

I have had Ms. Thomas for ACC 200, 310 and now I'm in 311. Her course packs that she had for 200 and 310 were extremely helpul and much clearer than the book. She gives solutions to hw and practice tests. Do all the hw, go to all the classes and no reason to get less than a B. She is my favorite teacher at State and really knows her stuff.

Daily in-class exercises for attendance. Some online quizzes. Most homework is recommended but not required (though very helpful to learn subject matter). Tests seem harder than practice problems. She uses her own course pack which is much better than textbook. Highly recommended. I'm waiting for her to teach ACC310/311 and would have no one else!

You cannot get the material without going to class. She is very clear and example-oriented, which is fantastic. There's a project and two small papers. Homework isn't required, but necessary to practice the material. She supports her students, always available in her office, and the most dedicated professor in the department.

Professor Thomas is the best accounting professon not only in NCSU but also all over the world. she is really excellent at expalining things and making sense out of everything. go to class , focus and study hard and you will do good. she is really the best. highly recommended.

I took it online w/ Thomas and I loved it. Her video lectures are pointless because she reads straight from the notes so you teach yourself the entire course. I had no ACC knowledge, but felt I mastered the concepts. I had an A going into the final, but being 30% of my grade and w/ the average being a 70, my grade fell so study for the final!

Prof. Thomas is not the most exciting lecturer in the world, but she is very thorough. She gives out HW, has labs, quizzes to enforce the material, all for grades so you are not just stuck with a few grades to live or die by. Some may hate the extra work, but I like it. It helped me keep up with the class where others just lecture and exam.

Robin in my opinion is an outstanding teacher. She is so clear, detailed, and organized; there were no surprises in the class. Not the easiest class, but not too hard if you actually do the work. There's a lot of work, but it's very manageable. Nervous going in based on what I heard, but I have to say I learned so much in the class.

Practice set (keeping a set of book for a fictions company) requires a lot of work (30 hours). teach more than required (worksheet approach) in statement of cash flows to prepare acc 311 success.

Do not burden yourself ACC 310/311 with other hard classes in 5 weeks. Do not return final exams since the question pool is made secret by the department.

If you're taking the online, ACC 200 class, DO NOT WORRY. It's not difficult at all; tests, quizzes, and assignments are nearly word-by-word the same as the lecture notes and the book is hardly used ever in the course (you may as well not buy it).She provides tons of extra resources too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I had Robin Thomas for intermediate accounting and I would never take a class with her again. I really felt like her tests were impossible even though I did all of the homework and went to class. I received the lowest grade that I've made in college so far in this class. She also runs the class like its 5th grade. Way too much hand holding for me.

This class was tough but that is mostly because of the course material than Dr. Thomas' fault. She does a really good job of clearly laying out the material and explaining it to you. If you take good notes, pay attention, do the readings, homework, and study you should do okay. Don't miss class. But as far as explaining the material, shes great.

Professor Thomas is a great professor. She is really sweet. Never did she turned me down if I had a question. Her first test was fairly easy but her second test was quiet hard. You surely do need to study. Her pre-test"study guides" are helpful before the test. Also, do the practice homework because it will help you during the quiz.

She knows ACC 311 is hard and she tries to help students without handholding them. BTW, as a junior in college everyone should know that ACC 311 is a weed-out class, so you must work hard to earn a decent or even average grade. Her coursepack is useful. You must love TF and MC to do well. She does not use textbook as much.

She is definitely a great lecturer in accounting. If you go to her office, she would definitely help you out. However, don't expect her exams to be so easy. They are not, and you must be well-prepared for it. In order to get an A in the class (which I didn't), pay attention to coursepack, homeworks, quizzes, and practice exams.

Don't expect her to be easy on exams. Some questions (esp TF) is hard. Taking this class in 5 weeks can be tough because there are a lot of work (homeworks, 20 hour practice sets, and some quiz). She does not curve. This course does not have comprehensive final in the summer, but she retest topics many people get wrong and she finds it important.

Mrs. Thomas is one of the best professors I have had. 310 is bearable, but 311 is hard. Get ready to work harder in 311 than 310. Do the homework, do the course pack and practice tests, and you should be okay. Wish she curved. Overall, I would recommend. Better than alternatives. But again, get ready to do work! No trip at the beach here.

Amazing teacher. She is better than the other intermediate professors. She gives you really good notes and explains concepts well. The material is hard, so are her tests. Never worked so hard for a C before. But practice, practice, practice and you should do well. I would recommend her.

I have taken Professor Thomas for 3 classes (210, 310 & 311). She is one of the best accounting professors I've had because of her course pack and great lectures where she clearly explains everything. She is a tough but fair teacher and if you do what she tells you to do, you will do well in her class.

This class covers soooooo much material (especially the tests). It's not rocket science but it definitely gets confusing. If you take the online section, I definitely suggest watching the videos she posts. They can be a bit redundant, but explain everything thoroughly. I'm just glad I never have to take another accounting class.

Seriously the best Accounting professor at NCSU. I understand that some other professors are "easier" and don't require the same workload, but professor Thomas teaches the material so well that the workload is a breeze. Her practice homeworks and graded assignments prepare you for the tests, and you leave feeling like you learned something.

If you don't have experience in accounting, or you aren't very good with it, take Thomas! There is a lot of work, but if you watch her videos and follow the handouts, you will be A-OK. The tests cover a lot, but if you put in the work, you'll complete the test with no trouble at all. It is nice to have a teacher who puts in as much effort as you.

She's a good professor and covers most things we need to know. However, the tests are way too much, especially for the cumulative final exam, you are required to remember everything from the beginning of the class. I understand we need to know those as an accountant but when you actually work, you do not need to work on that much stuffs at time.

Professor Thomas is amazing! Definitely a tougher class but she really goes in depth with the material and goes beyond the textbook. If you are an accounting major and want to actually learn the material I highly recommend. A lot of assigned homework but not for a grade, I would do the homework though to be fully prepared.

Professor Thomas's course pack is the complete guide to this class. If you can keep up with the practice hw and study her course pack you'll make it through the class. Attendance isn't technically part of the grade but she does take it through TopHat every class. If you want to pass going to class is a must.

I've taken Thomas for 310 and 311. She is WONDERFUL. You will leave the class having actually learned something. That said, both 310 and 311 are very difficult classes. DO NOT skip class or take the course online, it is much more difficult to pass. Follow the course pack and do all practice homework. Tests are heavy and difficult.

Professor Thomas is the best professor I've had at NC State. While ACC 311 is a very difficult course, her strategy of teaching through a course pack and constantly giving feedback made it easy to learn the material. The tests and assignments are difficult but you will leave the class having actually learned financial accounting.

I took her class and dropped it after failing the 1st test. That test was ridiculously hard for a 1.25 hours. I took it again the next semester and got an A. Her tests are harder than other profs. and the homework allows for unlimited attempts per blank (she does not allow that). Nothing against her, but her class is the hardest of all ACC210@NCSU

Professor Thomas is one of the best professors at State. She is extremely organized and straightforward with what you need to know for tests and gives you ample practice material. Do all of the practice homework in the Course Pack (the actual book didn't really help me). I had to work really hard for an A but she makes sure you actually learn.

She can sometimes get down into the weeds of a concept & make it more confusing bc of too much detail. Great at communication, esp during COVID. Professor Thomas is one of the BEST professors I have had at NC State. She is a great lecturer and knows how to explain complicated material in a way that is easy to understand. She assigns a lot of practice homework and reading but this prepares you for her tests and graded homework/quizzes. I cant say enough about her, she is amazing!

A lot of the reviews here can be a bit intimidating. ACC 210 is not an easy course so you should not go in to in thinking that. Thomas is not a bad professor, and if you make sure to keep up with the lectures and notes she provides to you (and a little bit of the textbook) you should be fine, just make sure that you study everything before exams.

Do not be scared by all the reviews! I made an 80-90's on her exams. You have to study the course pack, graded homework, practice quizzes, and exam reviews. Cengage was not helpful, not really sure why I paid for it. You cannot slack in this class or your grade will drop. I watched the live stream and never attended class.

Great professor for Accounting. For the exams make sure you study the quizzes, course pack and practice hw. The textbook was not helpful. Just make sure if you ever need help you get help because the class will move on. Accounting is difficult but Prof Thomas is the best to get through it.

Took Prof. Thomas for ACC 310 and 311. She's extremely accessible outside of class and her course pack was extremely helpful for learning and practice. You don't really need to use the textbook. So long as you're following along in class and keeping up with the homework, you'll do fine.

2 midterms and final which are worth 70% of our final grade. She gives a clear instruction on what the exams contain. You have to understand the material fully and not slack off. Overall, I would say this class is built for those who truly love accounting and are studious.

I took ACC 210 in summer session 1 and went into it expecting to not do well, but I watched the lectures, did the homework, and took notes and it was much easier than I thought. There are a lot of mixed reviews about Professor Thomas. I took this course as a summer session II. It was a challenging course, but she provides a course pack along with extra practice and practice in the textbook. Stay on top of your work and read the textbook and you will be just fine. She was very responsive and replied to my emails same day.

I took prof Robin over summer, for acc210. The class was challenging but it was doable. Accounting is a pretty hard course, but doing the homework in connect, the practice tests, and the course packet problems she gives, you will be alright. I recommend her!

Scared going into this class because it was a 5.5 week course but ended up doing better than I expected. Highly recommend prof. Thomas- organized and responsive. This class is time consuming and test heavy, but if you watch the lectures and do all the practice she offers, you will do fine in the class.

There is no way around it, ACC 310 is tough. It's a lot of content and the textbook is boring. However, Robin Thomas is extremely organized and makes the class the easiest it possibly can be. She is definitely the right choice for the class. She sets up learning modules in an "ACC 310 for dummies" manner. She is the sole reason I succeeded.

She provides a course pack which takes all the fluff out of the class material and lets you focus on what is truly important for being successful in this class. ACC 210 Summer 5-week course. Prof Thomas is a great teacher who explains things very clearly. Difficult course, watch the lectures and study before tests. I watched her lectures at 2x speed and did not do any of the practice assignments and got a B+. Since it's a 5 week course material is very condensed -- I spent about 30 min/day on this class.

I took ACC 310 by Professor Thomas during the 5-week summer session. Her grading is exam-heavy: 3 exams make up 75% of your total course grade. There is no extra credit. Professor Thomas expects her students to learn a lot of materials for these exams, but she's thorough with her lectures, so that helps with learning these materials.

Prof. Thomas was great! Her lectures were clear and direct and she provided many valuable examples. She also constructed many practice quizzes and practice tests which very closely matched the real ones. I was intimidated by the 5-week course, but it was very manageable, I just had to do an hour or 2 of work on average most days of the week.

310 has so much material and I think she does a great job at breaking the chapters down and giving a lot of examples. She has her own course pack so that all the material applies to the class and you don't have to deal with connect. The class is pretty hard but has a decent amount of review from 210.

ACC311 with Robin Thomas is a very tough course. However, she provides a course pack, similar to 310, which I think helps you break down the material well. Be prepared to study and work hard because the exams are the bulk of the grade. Like most accounting classes, if you put in the time to practice and study, you will do fine.

Her coursepack is truly amazing and as long as you study that AND the quizzes/practice tests/lectures you should do well in this course. I cannot overstate how useful the coursepack is, rather than relying on a large textbook for this course. Obviously, since it's a weed out course, I suggest spending 8 hours a week studying class resources.

I have no complaints about this course so far. The practice quiz/exams reflect the real exams pretty well. Professor Thomas provides help and feedback if you ask in the discussion forum almost instantly, and I'd say her and her TA are pretty available most of the time. The key to success in this course is just to watch the lectures and practice.

I took her Summer 310 course. I was at first intimidated by the 5 hours a day but to be honest for me it was only about 2-4 hours a day, so not as bad. Her videos are super helpful and the coursepack she makes mandatory is a great tool. The class is test heavy but the practice test and quizzes are just like the real test so just practice those.

Overall a wonderful informed professor who knows how to teach the subject of accounting like a pro! I enjoyed using the coursepack that was provided for ACC 310 to help guide my learning process.

Attendance isn't explicitly mandatory, but she places a big emphasis on using it to round up your grade if needed at semester end. The course pack she has is very useful, but there is a lot of outside work that she expects to be done, but her practice quizzes and exams are formatted almost identically to the actual exams.

Midterms are worth 40% grade and Final is worth 30% grade; she had great lectures with examples, and will help you as long as you ask. There's homework and textbook readings but I didn't do either, only did graded weekly quizzes and problem set. As long as you do the graded work and attend class you'll be fine.
