This is honestly the worst professor I have ever had. He did not seem to care about the grades of his students and was impossible to satisfy when doing paper (which you do about one every week). There were also fill-in-the-blank quizzes where you had to watch a video and then fill in the blanks to get points. Even if forgot to capitalize its wrong.

There were six papers in 15 weeks, so that's NOT one every week. There were detailed viewing guides for each video that had most answers on them called "terms to know." So... maybe it's time to grow up? Or if you prefer, whine & complain your way to "success"? I know you'll make the right choice. :)

If you're interested in getting what you pay for this is the professor for you. The work load is really focused on understanding and retention of information. The grade you receive in this class will be a true reflection of your work and overall ability. Daily readings, quizzes, and extra credit. We had 2 exams, you may have 3. Genuinely worth it.

Taking this course in the summer for transfer credit. Would ask a question about something one doesn't understand but would not explain things in more simpler form. He wants people to learn but not everyone may learn as he does or did. Can be a tad rude at times. His instructions can be a bit vague. Very demanding. Could be a bit more helpful.

While I can understand certain students possibly finding Dr Yost to be "rude" or "too strict" I really feel that's more a reflection on them than him. If you do what you're supposed to do, read & take notes, he isn't rude at all, and his classes are quite easy. Show the class respect, and he'll show you respect.

Prof. Yost is a quality instructor who holds high expectations for his students. Beyond a solid covering of material, significant time is taken for in-class essays, and Yost gives honest feedback for improvement. If you are transferring to a four-year degree program and are looking to prepare yourself, I cannot recommend Prof. Yost any more highly.

If you decide to take a course with Yost, make sure you're ready for a whole lot of reading and writing. His expectations of you are at a higher level than most other faculty at Kirkwood, and if you work hard you could walk away having learned more from him too. However, he has a seriously abrasive personality that makes him insufferable.

Robin Yost is one of the best professors at Kirkwood! He cares about the success of his students and gives out a ton of extra credit. Honestly, students that give him a bad rep are the ones that don't try and expect an easy A. Although, he does assign lots of reading and other homework assignments, it is all for your own good :) Just stay focus!

Based on the other comments, R. Yost is a Great choice. Just dont take his courses online. His video Quizzes are rated by fill in the blank and if your answer doesn't match "exactly" with his 1 or 2 given answers (such as ribs vs rib fractures) its wrong. He does not give out any partial credit either, which would be nice for such a poor system.

fill-in-the-blank answers that require exact capitalization. Every other professor would go back and reward full or at least partial credit for having the right answer but Yost does not. If the point of a class is learning the material, you would think he would allow this. Easy fix would be a word bank or multiple choice answers but he won't change

I took a class of his online, and his fill-in-the-blank quizzes were the bane of my existence. A student can lose credit on answers if they capitalize a proper noun that the professor falsely believes doesn't need to be capitalized. Yost posts weekly about how important proper grammar is, only to punish students who use proper grammar every week.
