She gives you points for showing up to class and it really bumps your grade up. Everything she lectures is on the test and she is extremely straight forward. SHe is also a sweetie and truly cares about your well being in the class. I loved her. Also gives you a cheat sheet for the exams and gives you credit for it. Best professor so far.
She makes class fun and interactive and everything you need to know is off of her powerpoint. Gives points for coming to class, you get a cheat sheet for every exam and five minutes to talk to others during your test. She cares so much about her students and takes the time to make sure you understand the concepts. Only downside is no extra credit.
She is one of the best professors I have had so far. She makes the lectures really fun and engaging. All of her powerpoints cover what's on the test and she makes reviews and post them before exams as well. She also lets you have a cheat sheet. She makes the content easy to understand and is so nice and fun. Highly recommend!!
I loved Dr. Kondrad and her psyc160 class so much. She really knows how to engage with her students in a lecture and works hard to make the class both enjoyable and educational. This was not necessarily an easy A but if you study and do the little homework we have on time, you will pass. I will miss this class and Dr. Kondrad so much next semester!
De. Kondrad is such a sweet professor who makes lectures interresting and engaging through clicker questions. She shares a lot about her personal life and really makes it feel like you know her which I really enjoyed! Her exams are a lot on what she says during lectures, not just the content in ppt so deff go to class! her exams are not hard at all
Dr. Kondrad is approachable, knowledgeable, and cares so much about her students. I appreciated how much time she spent creating study guides for each chapter and exam, and how we could use a note card during exams to reduce anxiety. She keeps the class engaged with clicker and discussion questions and makes the material relatable and fun!
Best professor I have ever had in my life, I love her so much!! Pretty hard class honestly but she made it all worth it, I learned so much!
Take Dr. Kondrad's class. You will NOT regret it! She gives small assignments here and there, clicker questions (in-class participation), 3 Exams and 1 Final (can use cheat sheet), and 3 Participant Pool Credits. Exams aren't hard - they are based on what she says in class/powerpoints. Barely read my textbook (for sure don't need the online code).
Dr. Kondrad is such an energetic and adorable prof who makes you WANT to go to class. LOTS of info covered, but you get a cheat sheet for each exam AND you get to have 10 min. to talk to a buddy before you turn in your test. She posts all the slides from class, but she also uses clickers every day to check attendance. TAKE HER CLASS!!! SERIOUSLY.
I had to take this class for my major. It was a hard class, but I enjoyed it. I learned a lot more than I thought I would in the class. She gives you time to talk to others during all of her exams, which was really nice and we were able to have a notecard as a cheat sheet. She definitely tries to make this class as fun as possible! Take her!!
Dr. Kondrad is an incredible professor and knows exactly how to teach. Although each lecture was content heavy, I literally didn't get bored a single day due to the interactive and fun powerpoints and clicker questions. Very clear about what you need to know and truly just a great and pretty easy class.
Dr. Kondrad is amazing! She always reached out to make sure students were succeeding in her class. Such an amazing professor. I almost switched my major to psychology because of her. She is really clear about what she wants and gives a lot of opportunities to earn points on exams and activities. TAKE HER!!!!
Dr. Kondrad is the BEST. Seriously one of the best professors I've ever had. She's super fair and caring with her students -- she genuinely wants everyone to LEARN and DO WELL. Her lectures are amazing and very concise with all the information you'll need for exams. You get points for showing up to class. Don't hesitate to take her class!!!
Dr. Kondrad is amazing. Definitely one of the best professors I've had at JMU. It is a lecture based class, but she makes it interesting by incorporating the use of clicker activities. Attendance isn't mandatory but we have clicker points each class that will affect your grade. Study for exams and you will be fine! Highly recommend!
She expects far too much of us for a gened class. She expects us to remember every little detail she says during class, but yet doesn't give us enough time to write it down. When we were asked to provide feedback on the course during midterms, all our suggestions were thrown out the window, making the exercise seem pointless.
The only good thing about Professor Kondrad is that she lets you talk during exams for 10 minutes. However, she is really picky about homework and grades hard. You really gotta work for an A.
Really have to work for an A. Just have to say.... if I hear the names Rayna or Audrey one more time I will scream. That and the discussion days (with their preparations) were the only bad parts of the class. I mostly dealt with my TA who was awesome! Love the talking time during the exams though!
The best things in her class is she will give you 10 minutes to talk with other students during the exams but other, her class is hard. It's not easy A class. I really hate the discussion day. She requires a lot of things in the tests. She is also not caring about students. COULD TRY but NOT RECOMMENDED!
She does clicker questions everyday for points and changes the code everyday so you either have to go every class or get the code from someone. She gives a lot of work for a gen ed class and it is kind of hard to get an A in the class. However you are allowed 10 mins on each test to go over answers with classmates so that's a plus.
Dr. Kondrad is probably my favorite professor so far! She's very funny and does activities in the lecture to help you grasp concepts, which I love! She's definitely caring and really wants her students to succeed. I most definitely recommend taking her!
Shes super sweet, but her class is RIDICULOUSLY hard for a gen ed. Some assignments were 10 pages long and only worth 3 points and the TA I had would take off points if it wasnt right. She taught the class like it was a 400 level class and Im a STEM major and this was honestly my hardest class. STEER CLEAR of this class if you can, it is SO HARD
Dr. Kondrad is a very sweet lady and loves what she does but this class was very hard. Her exams are kinda hard but you get a cheat sheet with 10 min of "talking time" right before you turn it in. All the other assignments are ridiculously long it's not even funny. Just need to make sure you can manage your time!
If you're looking for an easy gen-ed, stay away from Kondrad. She gives a ton of unnecessary homework because she gets her TAs to grade everything for her. Grades won't come back for weeks. Her lectures suck, flies through the necessary info. Tests are unreasonably difficult. A nice lady, but bad professor.
I love Dr. Kondrad! she made a huge lecture feel so comfortable and she always relates material to real-world (or her adorable daughters). exams are not that bad and she lets you have a cheat sheet and talk to people around you for 10 minutes which is great. honestly couldn't have asked for a better professor for a gen ed, a real gem. ill miss her
This course is way too hard for a gen-ed credit. There's alot of homework and reading that you have to do to get a good grade. Professor Kondrad is a genuine and nice person who really cares about her field, but I don't think she understands that most people are taking her course just to get credit. Wouldn't recommend unless you like studying.
This class is ridiculously difficult for a gen-ed class. Her lectures are hard to follow. Tests are composed of diverse topics that don't even necessarily relate to each other. And assignments that are time consuming only make so much of a difference when your test grades weigh so much. Stray away from Kondrad if you just want an easy A in PSYCH.
Dr. Kondrad is an extremely nice lady and is very passionate about psychology, but there was a lot of busy work involved in the course. I would suggest reading the textbook because when I didnt, I did poorly on the exams. She is do-able but this course definitely could have been easier.
The only reason I wouldn't take her again is because of the amount of work she assigned. I'm bad at managing my time lol. She's very understanding and caring though, and pushed the due dates back for everyone for a few assignments. Clicker questions every class which are basically grade-boosters since she gives all points as long as you do them.
Dr. Kondrad is a really awesome lady and a good professor, but her class is extremely difficult for a Gen Ed course. If you like psychology and have taken a psych class before, you'll be okay. Just know if you're taking this for a Gen Ed and aren't familiar with psychology at all, this might not be the best option for you.
Way more difficult than a gen ed should be. Talks about her children 60% of the time. She's a nice lady that treats her course like it's the only one you take. If you have a lot of time on your hands, go for it. Honestly not a valuable gen ed to take unless you are a psych major. Thrives off of making you uncomfortable, so don't take if squeamish.
Dr. Kondrad is a really sweet professor. She makes you work for your grade, so if you're looking for an easy A gen ed, this is not the class for you. There are quite a few homework assignments that are much longer than they need to be. Her tests are not too bad if you study. Plus, you get to have a notecard and 10 minutes of talking time!
For a GenEd, it is a lot of work. It is an easy class but the amount of homework is ridiculous. I have never taken a class with more pointless homework. It is all busy work really. I usually like psychology but she really turned me away from it. Its like she doesn't know we have other classes.
Kondrad was a great teacher! I think having her online was a lot different from having her in person. Her lectures were actually productive and you always had accessibility to the powerpoints. She does have homework but if you dont procrastinate too much its not bad, typically just watch videos answer questions. Her tests and quizzes are okay too
Best class ever! Loved kondrad and her class. She will talk about her kids and use them as examples throughout the year. Natalie is so cute. The chapter assignments and quizzes were super easy! 10/10 recommend and very easy class!
She is amazing. It was a great class because she was consistent. You always knew what was expected of you. It has a ton of work, but it is doable. I would definetely take her class again.
Professor Kondrad is super sweet and her lectures are very interesting and enjoyable. There is a decent amount of homework for this class (textbook readings, weekly quizzes, weekly assignments) but it is very manageable. Highly recommend this class.
An absolute amazing professor!! She has such good lectures and the content is very interesting. The homework load is a little heavy but not too bad. I would highly recommend.
I LOVE Dr. Kondrad! She genuinely cares about what she's teaching, and very understanding if you need to miss a quiz or exam. There are chapter quizzes, assignments, and discussions, but they aren't very hard. The exams are open note and pretty easy if you study. I highly recommend!!!!
The class is not an easy A but the information is very interesting and her lectures are useful. We have a weekly quiz and weekly assignment, so it's a bit of work, but not impossible and you know what's expected of you She is very understanding- she drops your lowest quiz grade and you can get up to 15 pts extra credit by coming to every class.
Chapter assignments are lengthy, but your textbook will be your best friend. Tests and quizzes are abundant and helpful for your grade. She's always willing to help and always is checking in on her students. Uses her kids for examples a lot, so take that as you will
A super easy Gen Ed class to take and Professor Kondrad really knows what she is talking about. Each week you have to read a chapter and take a reading quiz then do an assignment on it. The tests are really easy and open book and notes.
Dr. Kondrad is easily the best professor I have had so far. She cares about all of her students and is very warm and welcoming. The course is very interesting and if you stay on top of the weekly assignments and quizzes, you should have no problem getting a high grade.
I loved Kondrad. Her class is solid with a good amount of tests, quizzes, discussions, and textbook readings. I thought that this class was one fo my more challenging classes, but also one of the most enjoyable. There's a good support system as well.
I had Dr. Kondrad for psyc160 the first time her course was completely online. The only thing needed was the textbook, which we went through chronologically. We were able to use all materials on quizzes/exams, which had the same wording from the text & same layout which was nice. Dr. Kondrad is passionate about psych & gives extra credit for class.
I wish all of my classes were like this one. She was very straight forward with all of our assignments and made sure we were made aware of the due date. She gives out plenty of extra credit and tries to make the class engaging by giving scenarios you might have experienced. Would HIGHLY recommend her for Psych160.
Professor Kondrad was my favorite this semester! The lectures were super interesting and all of the assignments were reasonable and expected. Her schedule was super nice and organized because she made Friday asynchronous to let us read the textbook. There are extra credit opportunities by using the clickers during class, and it helps your grade!
Kondrad is an amazing professor, with interesting lectures! Each week I had 2 days of lecture and an asynchronous class on Fridays. There was a chapter reading quiz every Friday, and a reading assignment due every Tuesday. There was clicker use for participation and extra credit. There were 3 exams and the final. Enjoyable class, but a lot of work.
I really liked Kondrad! The the homeworks were once a week and kind of lengthy, but she only made the class synchronous 2 days a week instead of 3 so its understandable. Reading quizzes every week but not too bad, she really does care about her students and was so nice! Definitely recommend!!
Awesome professor, she's extremely kind and caring. Definitely can get a good grade if you do your work. My only caveat to this is that this class has a LOT of outside work to do that takes hours and hours of your time each week. If you are looking for a less time consuming class I would keep fishing, but if you take it and do the work it's an A.
If you want to do 2 hour long assignments at least once a week this is the class for you. The grading on said assignments is also very harsh. I would recommend taking another professor for this course.
Professor is nice and willing to work with you. There are weekly chapter assignments ( some take HOURS to do). Theres quizzes every week but you get two attempts. The TA grade your work so just hope you get a good TA. You have to respond to questions during class that counts are participation, some count as extra credit.
Professor Kondrad is the nicest professor I've had all semester. However, the class does require a LOT of work. There is a quiz every Friday that is not hard, but the weekly chapter assignments take 3-4 hours every week. If you are willing to do the work, though, it is an easy A!!!!!
Kondrad is an awesome professor. She really tries to keep her students engaged and she knows everyone has their days so she drops a couple of your lowest hw grades. She always find real world examples to use in class. There is a lot of work to be done for this class but if you do it all to the best of your ability you should get an A.
She's the best professor I have ever had at JMU! She's super sweet and tries to make the class relatable to her students. There is a bit of homework in the class but its nothing crazy. She also knows how to use zoom even though she has 200+ students in one class.
You truly get out of this class what you put into it! Dr. Kondrad is amazing, and this is a very enjoyable and easy class if you do the work! 11/10 would recommend!!
Def my favorite prof this whole semester! Dr. Kondrad is a wonderful professor. Her lectures were always interesting and if you take a lot of notes and study hard you will do fine. Weekly reading quizzes with 2 attempts and weekly reading assignments that are pretty long, but they're not that bad. 100% take her class because she makes psych fun.
I loved this class!
Dr. Kondrad is an amazing professor! She makes the material easy to learn and her exams/quizzes are very straight forward.
alright guys , this class was very homework heavy . You have homework every week and quizzes every week . the test are easy literally you find them on quizlet and the quizzes . its worth it just a lot of work . I passed with an A- . She says get the text book lol i didnt and passed . Shes a sweet lady and very caring . i liked her a lot .
Professor Kondrad was an overall great professor but if you are looking for an easy A gen ed then do not take her. She does assign a lot of work and you do have to read the textbook. This class definitely makes you work for your grade. She is a very caring professor though and wants to see you succeed.
Kondrad was the BEST. You have to go to class to answer clicker questions, but the lectures are engaging and genuinely interesting. There was a quiz every week but it was easy if you skimmed over the chapter. Take her!
dr. kondrad is so so nice. her lectures are fun & go by super fast. you have to take notes & STUDY them or you won't pass the exams (in person) the chapter assignments aren't difficult but my TA grades them harshly & they take me ALL DAY. she said they should take 2-3 hours but i get distracted easily & they take me 4-5. participation is graded
Kondrad is genuinely a great prof. There is a lot of reading but it isn't bad if you manage your time. There are clear assignments and extra credit is given for attending class. She makes lectures interesting and relatable. She cares about her students and always responds quickly outside of class. Not a super easy A but a great class.
Her lectures are good but there is definitely a good amount of reading and super long chapter assignments. If you are good at time management and splitting assignments up, it'll be good.
Dr. Kondrad is incredibly kind and considerate of her students. The only bad thing I have to say about this class is how the chapter assignments take hours and hours every Friday night. Make sure you space the questions out throughout the week. Her tests are pretty easy, most of the questions are on Quizlet. Easy GenEd as long as you work for it.
super nice woman. 3 assignments weekly that if you do all at once would probably take you 3 hours. as long as you spread out the work pretty easy class. first 6-8 chapters are a review from AP Psych in highschool lol didn't even open the textbook until after chapter 8.
I liked her, but the chapter assignments and discussions were so dreading to do because of the length of them. She is super nice, but the TA's we had knew nothing. Her exams are what brought my grade down, there is four including the final.
Dr. Kondrad and her TA's are all amazing. This is a class you have to commit to, especially if you're wanting an A - but Dr. Kondrad is very accessible and the TA's really try their best to help in anyway they can! Extra credit opportunities just for showing up to class; I always went just because her lectures are hilarious and amazing!
Wow, I can't believe anyone has anything bad to say about this class at all. Anybody complaining probably didn't start their chapter assignments until the night they were due and expected their TA to give them all of the answers instead of actually doing the work. My TA was amazing and always answered my emails in 5 mins. Dr. Kondrad is phenomenal!
Prof kondrad is a great person and really cares about her students. I would not recommend taking her if you have other difficult classes. The weekly chapter reading quizzes and assignments were so time consuming if I had a test for a different class that week I could barely study. Shes a great prof just make sure you are willing to do lots of hw
She is a super nice teacher and if you email her for help she will answer fast but the grading is split between multiple TAs and they do not all grade the same/ fairly. This class is superrr lecture heavy and feels so much longer than it is. The amount and length of work you will have to do outside of class is absurd so be ready! Tests are average.
I found Dr. Kondrad's lectures to be interesting and interactive. We had clicker questions to answer each class to keep people engaged, and extra credit was offered that way. The course is lecture heavy and the textbook is necessary. Grading is split between TAs, but they make an effort to ensure they all grade the same/fairly.
Very nice person, however, the amount of work she assigns is a little much. Its the same thing every week, a chapter assignment and a discussion board which get fairly boring and annoying. Again she is very nice, her class on the other hand is not the best.
Best professor ive ever had. she genuinely cares so much about her students. her class is a lot of work, but she is very understanding. her exam are low stress as she lets us have a index card and discuss with our peers for ten minutes. she genuinely wants you to learn and help you.
Teaches only in lecture format in which her slides are bare minimum and then she just reads off the slides. If you want to actually learn anything you have to read the textbook. Her chapter homework and discussion day work is very long and very confusing. Tests are extremely difficult and confusing as hell because she doesn't actually teach
Grade is based on 3 tests, weekly chapter assignments, participation, and the final. Lectures are interesting, so go to class(plus you get credit for going), and if you go to every class you will get 15 points extra credit. Chapter assignments are long but easy if you watch the videos(I always did them night before due). Take her!!!
I actually love Dr. Kondrad, but yes, it is a lot of work. There is a chapter assignment that is long and a reading quiz that you have to read the chapter of the textbook to do well on. There have been 4 exams so far which you get a cheat sheet for and talking time during it. Her lectures are super interesting bc she is so knowledgeable.
Dr. Kondrad knows a lot about what she is teaching , but never stops talking about her kids so thats pretty much all you learn about. Be prepared to do lots of work for this class every week.
Dr. Kondrad's lectures are extremely engaging and informative. She uses her own family as examples for the concepts we talk about, which really helps with understanding the material. There is a significant amount of work outside class, but if you manage your time well it's manageable.
Just don't take this class. Her tests are SO confusing and often don't fully match up with her lecture slides. Furthermore, her attendance policy is so frusterating (she uses clickers so you always have to go.) Lectures were long and dull, and the work outside class was INSANE. She seems like a nice person, but I hated this class. Just be prepared.
This class was definitely homework heavy, but were structured identically every week and were easy grade buffers if you put in the effort. She used clickers for participation so going to class is mandatory if you want the extra credit opportunity at the end of the semester. Kondrad was such a passionate professor and very knowledgeable about psych.
Her lectures are boring/ unnecessary except you get a grade based on being there. It's the same every week, reading and quiz due monday, assignment due friday. Everything is graded by TA's. Tests are prettyyyy specific. Shes a very nice and good prof but did not make it interesting. She did make the assignments longer and longer every week though.
Kondrad is a solid choice, but be prepared for 2-3 hour weekly assignments, along with a 1 hour chapter reading with quiz. The assignments are long but easy As. Tests are HIGHLY SPECIFIC, so learning the basics is not enough. Gives extra credit and allows a note card and 20m talking time on tests. Also, if you're struggling email your TA!
I absolutely loved this class!! It is very structured and you always know what to expect. The tests are pretty difficult, but as long as you put effort into the weekly assignments/quizzes you'll be okay. I personally enjoyed going to the lectures and you can tell she really cares about the success of her students. Take her!!
Her class is a big lecture, so youll mainly be working with your TA instead of her. Youll want to go to the lectures and read the textbook if you want to pass the class. You will have to study for exams to have any chance of passing them.
You have to be willing to put the work in for this class! Tons of weekly reading, and a huge worksheet and quiz on it. She uses clickers to check attendance, so you have to go to class. However, lectures are interesting, and exams are great - she lets us have a notecard, and gives us 10 minutes of discussion time before we submit.
Kondrad is so passionate and makes the lectures really interesting, which is good because attendance actually can count for extra credit if you attend regularly. Assignments are lengthy and textbook reading is a must to pass the exams, but the material is really interesting and relevant. Definitely recommend her!
her TA's do all of the grading and frequently don't get grades back quickly. I dropped the class because the amount of work required for it wasn't worth it for a get ed. She also took points off when I had to miss for covid. Unless you love psych or love doing 7 hours of work a week for this class, don't take it.
Love the way Kondrad runs her class and her views towards exams! She's unlike so many other professors I've had. It is a LOT of reading and homework piles up if you are someone with no time management skills. However if you can learn to break up assignments then you'll be fine. Not as much work as people say there is.
I'm telling you now, as a psychology major and someone who enjoys this topic DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. It's literally just busy work piled on busy work that takes away from your actual time that could be spent studying for a test. For a class that most take as a GenEd do not take, I do less work in my level 300 major classes.
Definitely go to class, because the clicker points can take a hit on your grade. The class normally goes by quick and she gives great slides that really help. Her weekly assignment is normally pretty lengthy and takes a couple of hours to do. But I think she's a great professor and does a good job teaching the class!
the tests are a little hard, you don't have to come to class but she does do clickers so if u don't go just get the code from someone
The chapter assignments are WAYYY too long for a gen ed class. She also doesn't take extensions bc "clicker points make up extra credit" and the tests are all from the textbook.
Dr. Kondrad is very kind and a great teacher, but she gives out so much homework. I wouldn't mind it if I felt like it helped me understand topics better, but it's just busy work. It's a lot for a GenEd. She does give us time to talk during tests and discuss questions for about 10-20 minutes. We also have group quizzes the class before tests.
Dr. Kondrad's class is very rigorous. She expects her students to do 6 hours of psychology per week - something that's hard for most of us. 3 hours of reading, and 3 hours of assignments/chapter quizzes on the textbook. Lectures are fine though, and she allows students to have a notecard for exams (which are extremely specific and difficult).
Kondrad's class had too much work for a gen ed. Weekly assignments have 10ish questions, but each of those questions have multiple parts, so it ends up being more work than needed. The class honestly isnt that hard, but the amount of work assigned makes it feel like more of a burden. If you have to take this class, go for another professor.
The general consensus is that Kondrad is either very beloved, or just irritating-- it really depends on your prof. preferences. I personally found her class to be entertaining, although it is quite a bit of work for a gen-ed. If you like chatty and quirky profs, Kondrad is your lady. She's very kind and warm, and genuinely cares for her students.
She tried to seem approachable but if you tried to meet with her she would always say she was too busy and just toss you off to one of her TAs. The TAs were ok, but not super helpful but if I still wanted to meet with her she made it difficult. So many readings. For it being a psych class, it is not friendly to people with learning disabilities.
Bad! Take anyone else! Assigns way too much work for a gen-ed, and the work teaches you absolutely nothing! It is pure busy work. Her tests are nothing like the lectures, and nothing you can do can prepare you for them. Even if you went over the book 100x, you would miss questions. She gives "talking time" at the end of exams, but it isn't helpful.
Very passionate about the subject, incorporates examples from her own life which makes lectures interesting. Her exams can be decently difficult, but she does well to prepare you.
She's a wonderful lecturer but the tests are pretty hard. She lets you use a notecard for the tests and talk to friends after 45 minutes. There's a lot of work, weekly assignments, quizzes, and discussion posts, but it's all graded by TAs who are really lenient. Overall a very interesting class but a little harder than necessary.
Attendance is mandatory because she uses clickers, but there are extra days built in so you can miss a few without getting points off. There is lots of busy work outside of class which wasn't fun but while it takes a long time to complete the work wasn't that hard. Her lectures are very interesting and engaging.
The lectures in this class were super interesting but I just cant get past the amount of busy work she made us do, although super enthusiastic about the subject the amount of work just sucked.
Kondrad is very nice. 2 assignments each week, an easy online quiz, and then a 3 hour homework assignment due every Friday. Those take a longgg time to complete and can be tedious. During exams she lets you bring a cheat sheet and then allows 20 minutes of talking time w/ your peers, which literally saved my grade. Take her best psych 160 prof!!!
Iconic. I cannot recommend Kondrad for PSYC 160 enough. Take this class as soon as you can. You will learn a lot. Assignments are difficult but straightforward, you will be fine as long as you stay on top of your work. Lectures are interesting - there is not a lot of separation, she will show you pictures of her placenta
Tests were easy, she lets you use a notecard + talk to friends ab questions after 45 mins. She used clickers so attendance was mandatory, she never gave me my points even if I had a dr note since she adds built-in days for extra points. Her lectures were really interesting. Weekly assignments take a while but graded by TAs who give good feedback.
Kondrad is a great professor for psych 160! Take her if you can! Tests are difficult but reading the textbook chapters makes all the difference. You also get 10 minutes of talking time with those around you after the exam before turning it in which helps a lot. You have to put in some work in for a good grade but, I'm so glad I took her.
if you need to take psych 160, TAKE KONDRAD! one of my favorite classes and professors. Her test are exactly what she goes over in lectures and you have a notecard and talking time during the test. Weekly homework consist of chapter assignments and chapter discussions. can be a lot but they are helpful and sometimes interesting !
great professor, she knows what she's teaching and does so in a way to keep you interested. While there is a lot of classwork as long as you follow the instructions and show up to class and take notes you should be fine. also for the exams, you are able to have a cheat sheet on a 4x6 note card which is very nice to have.
The class had over 200 people and that was definitely a first for me. Overall, the material was not super hard but you did have weekly assignments that took in the ballpark of 2 to 5 hours, so that could be a bit annoying at times. Overall, she is very knowledgeable on the subject and mostly enjoyable to listen to. I would take the class if you can
Dr. Kondrad was so great. She explains things and gets personal with the class even though there are well over 200 people. She makes you feel comfortable and gets you thinking. Worst part was the weekly assignments. They would take anywhere from 1.5-5 hours just depending on the subject. If you want a professor that knows her stuff, Kondrads it
I really admire professor Kondrad, however I really wish I had been able to take a smaller class with her. If feels pretty impersonal when the class is the size of 300 people. There was a lot I wanted to discuss with her and ask but never felt comfortable enough to do so. Everything basically had to be done through TAs, felt impersonal.
Dr. Kondrad was awesome. Weekly quizzes get two tries, I got two tries on my five exams, and you get a 4x6 notecard to use during exams. Focus on the tiny details and you are destined for success. I also had discussion posts, those are easy A's. Just do the work and you will do great.
I love this class, she is really understanding and very responsive when I reach out to her. She wants you to succeed in her class and all assignments given are necessary and helpful to your learning experience. Also, you get a 6x4 notecard front and back for every exam, very helpful and a great enviornment even though it is a large lecture.
Dr. Kondrad was my favorite professor out of all of mine and she was so funny and made class fun even during an early class. The tests were pretty simple if you went to class and did notes. She also does participation points every class which helped your grade overall. I loved her and would definitely take it again!
would take her over and over again if i could, she made me have a spark in psychology and now i'm taking up a minor in it!
I understand why people like her, but, to me, her teaching style comes off as lazy. Tests and material are generally easy (allows a notecard). There are assignments almost every week (10 in total) to make up the majority of the work you will do in her class, however, only 6 of those are graded. 5 hours of work with no payoff can be demoralizing.
This was my favorite class I feel like I could sit there and listen to her teach forever. She cares about each of her students even though my class had around 300 people in the lecture. There is a discussion board, chapter assignment, and chapter quiz every week but it's not as much work as it sounds like. Nursing majors, I recommend her for psych.
Dr. Kondrad is a very passionate and funny professor. The TAs are the ones you will go to with questions, but she is always there to help. Lectures are actually interesting, and those notes are very important when it comes to studying for tests. Tests are difficult b/c of the amount of material covered, but it's doable.
Dr. Kondrad is one of those professors that seems like she actually enjoys what she is teaching. Yes, the class is hard and you really have to put in work, but it genuinely interesting material. She is very sweet and gives updates/notifications for upcoming assignment, and the TA's help out as well. Overall happy with this course.
Dr. Kondrad's lectures were always engaging and I loved the content. The weekly homework assignments are tedious but if you show up to class and watch the videos you'll be fine. The only downside to her class was that there were around 300 people in it, so it was difficult to develop a personal connection.
Dr. Kondrad is a great professor and I only got a C because of not being able to handle the workload and balance my major coursework. For my class she had a reading quiz (open book) due on Monday and a large assignment due on Friday, plus TuTh lectures (important for Friday assignment), which meant I was basically working on her class all week.
Dr. Kondrad is a great professor and it is clear that she knows what she is talking about. There is a decent amount of homework and quizzes weekly, but it is easy to keep up with if you have a schedule. She allows for a notecard and talking time on exams which is very helpful since exams are very application based.
Way too much homework. Everyone I knew who had Psyc160 with other teachers had maybe 1/4 the amount of homework we had. She gives large assignments due every Friday, and only four of them are actually graded, so your time is wasted. She doubles up on these assignments during exam week, so you have zero time to study. Not for me.
The class relies on the TAs: they grade everything. She assigns a quiz, discussion, and assignment each week. Both the quiz and discussion are easy but the assignment is usually a waste of time. Half the time they aren't even related to actual content. The content itself is very easy, but her formatting for the class makes it time consuming.
This class was so hard for a gen ed. Dr. Kondrad is extremely knowledgable on the topic, a chapter of reading and a quiz on the reading every week. Tons of assignments. Exams are a huge part of the grade and can be very challenging. If this is for a gen ed, stay away.
The material was super interesting and I really enjoyed this class. Most of the grading was done by TAs and there are weekly readings with assignments, along with discussion boards. I definitely recommend starting on the readings and assignments as early as possible because they can be long. You get a note card and a talking period during exams.
While Professor Kondrad was a good teacher, her lectures were pretty boring and there was SO MUCH homework. The tests have group time which is nice, but an overall very work-heavy class.
Kondrad was an amazing professor. She was incredibly knowledge about the topics she was lecturing. Her lectures were never boring and I was also engaged. I do think that there was a lot of work outside of class each week. For me it was typcially 5-7 hours of work each week. I did like that every week had the same schedule. That was helpful.
Her lectures are very interesting. It's not a hard class but there is a LOT of homework, it is manageable if you don't wait till the last minute to start. Attendance is through polling questions she does every class, you only need so many & any points after are EC. SO many opportunities for EC. Tests in class but note card & talking time helps.
Dr. Kondrad is a decent professor, but I would never take her class again. All the assignment we have for the class are due at 2pm. She has TA's for the class so getting ahold of her is very difficult. Although she teaches the subject well, I would advise you to take a different professor for this course.
Super sweet women, but let me tell you...way too much work for a GenED Psychology class. Every week there are quizzes due which are not hard. Then Chapter assignments and discussions take 3-4 hours to complete. The work feels stupid and pointless. Do not recommend especially if you are a Junior or Senior, you'll have no motivation for this course.
If you have the chance to take anyone else.. do it. She assigns way too much work & homework for a Gen Ed class. I spent more hours doing her work than I did in any of my major classes. Weekly quizzes due by 2pm that are pointless. Hard to get ahold of, just makes her TA's do everything. Each assignment takes 5-7 hours which is graded too harshly.
weekly assignments that are time consuming but easy to get 100 on. weekly reading quizzes (10q), you don't need to read the chapter and you get 2 tries on them. 3 exams 1 final. exams you can use notecards. She doesn't prepare you for exams at all. I did good on assignments and quizzes but not on exams and still ended with an A.
This class had a lot of work but if you do it all well the tests will be easy, and go to the review sections hosted by the TA's. They not only help you review, but if they see you trying they will help you during talking time. Make sure you do the work because she does not accept late work, directions and expectations are clear.
Dr. Kondrad is the absolute sweetest and so funny! She keeps the lectures interesting and engaging, and shows that she truly cares about her students and is passionate about what she does. Weekly assignments can be a pain, but they are pretty manageable. Can use notecard on test and has 10 minutes of talking time, which both really help. Recommend!
Attendance is major part of this class and there is a lot of homework so be prepared for that when taking this class.
Dr. Kondrad is nice and cares about the subject and her students. I would not take this class again because of the work load and the tough grading from the TAs. I spent over 5 hours every week on assignments which I didn't get good grades on. All of the work is busy work. I took this class as a gen ed and it was my hardest class of the semester.
Is Kondrard sweet? Yes. But I simply have two words to describe this class. BUSY. WORK. You will spend more time doing chapter assignments and discussion day posts than wanted. The assignments are redundant and make students not want to participate. Annoying. For a GenEd this class has entirely TOO MUCH homework.
Dr. Kondrad is a really sweet person and uses her kids as examples in classes which is really cute, but she assigns WAY too much homework for a gen-ed. Had to read full chapters every weekend with a quiz on said chapter every Monday, and following up that Friday after a week of lectures, there was a homework assignment which easily took 2-4 hours.
I spent more time on her weekly assignments than I did for my major classes. The ONLY good thing about this class is that you have "talking time" after the first 40 minutes of the exam. For a Gen Ed, the work is ridiculous and pointless, 5-6 hours of work each week and Discussion Day work is added onto the weekly assignments (awful). DO NOT TAKE!!
PLEASE whatever you do take these reviews seriously when they say there is SO MUCH WORK. Way too much for a gen ed. I would not take this class again. Dr. Kondrad is so sweet but it honestly is not worth it. The material itself isn't too difficult but you will spend all of your time on this class.
WORK WORK WORK. Busy work!!!! The definition of this class. The content is interesting, and she is super sweet. However, just because she is nice does not outweigh the horrific amount of work required. Easily will spend 5-7 hours working on chapter assignments per week. Be prepared for that. If you want minimal work for a GenED-- don't take!!
She gives way too much work. We have chapter assignments every week due on fridays at 2:00 and they WILL take you 3+ hrs 2 do. If you turn in 1 thing EVEN ONE MINUTE late its a 5-point penalty(15/20 on a chapter assignment). Don't think about asking for an extension because SHE DOES NOT CARE. Also every single assignment is due at 2:00pm.
Dr. Kondrad is sweet, but I would simply never take this class again. The information is interesting but there is simply SO much work. You have weekly quizzes and chapter assignments every week. The assignments take around 5 hours, and the TAs will be extremely harsh on grading. Too much busy work for a gen-ed.
Love her energy but the workload is tremendous. Don't be fooled by the exams: she'll give you time to work with others and has mandatory discussion days the day before the exam, but if you're not prepared you'll be screwed. You pay for your textbook and your clicker participation things. Huge class so thats good if you like not being noticed.
She's a really nice professor, but the workload for a gen-ed is unreal. The exams aren't hard but the discussion day assignment the class before is worth just as much and takes as long if not longer to do than studying for the actual test. Don't take this class if you want an easy A, but if you're willing to put in the work the content is easy.
Dr.Kondrad is one of my favorite professors! She is incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and very willing to work with students. There is a decent amount of homework for the class and it is important to attend lecture, but if you stay on top of the work and break it up throughout the week it is extremely manageable and very interesting! Def recommend!
I don't understand the negative ratings people are leaving for her. She's an AMAZING professor with an incredibly interesting course. Although there is lots of HW for the class and you must attend lecture, the ppl complaining must have poor time management skills or don't want to put in the work for a college level course b/c it is very manageable
Dr. Kondrad is an amazing professor! Hands down my favorite so far! She is sweet, caring, and understanding. She assigns a lot of homework, and the assignments take time to complete, but if you space it out, you will be fine. Offers lots of extra credit opportunities! You get 10 mins of talking time during tests which is helpful. Highly recommend!!
Dr. Kondrad was very sweet, and you could tell she was really passionate about psych. My only con is that there's a lot of homework. If you're not willing to put in the time and effort, don't take it with Kondrad. Although, with all the assignments and her personality, I feel like I learned a lot from this class.
Great professor but INSANE AMOUNTS OF WORK. Would not recommend unless you're willing to work and spend hours doing homework. Front & back 4x6 flashcards for exams (which are all multiple choice) and 10 minutes of talking time where you can talk to other ppl during exam. Lovely professor but just so much homework
Professor Kondrad was AMAZING!!! She is so friendly and funny and makes class engaging even though it is lecture heavy. There is a lot of homework weekly but it is super manageable and not hard. These assignments help you with class and prepare you for tests and exams. Kondrad is awesome I highly recommend this class if you want a good grade!
She's a wonderful professor but get ready to really learn how to manage your time. There's weekly chapter assignments that are due at 2:00 in the afternoon so that we "aren't staying up till midnight to finish the assignment" but I stayed up most nights before the due date so that I can avoid the last second stress of it being turned in at 2:01.
She gives a lot of assignments but its a lot of chances to get your grade to where you want it to be. The TA's grade all of your assignments and you only have 6/10 graded but if you turn in all 10 you get 15 extra credit points. During tests you are allowed to talk to your friends for 10 minutes to help you out at the end. 10/10 recommend
I loved Kondrad, she knows her stuff! I wish it was smaller class, but she tries to make the class personal and uses her kids as examples a lot to get to know her. Only complaint I have is the homework, took about 2-3 hours a week, which was sometimes a lot to commit to each week with other courses. Offers a lot of extra credit which I enjoyed.
I absolutely LOVED Dr. Kondrad. 100% one of the best profs I have had so far. Lectures were super fun and engaging and you can tell she really cares about her students. Chapter assignments can be a lot, but she is dedicated to making sure you pass and will have lots of extra credit and review sessions. Loved this class so much.
I loved her so so much! A lot of work but not super hard, lots of TA's that made the class more manageable!
You can tell that Kondrad really wants you to learn the materials in her class. She does amazing lectures with interesting content. She also lets you have a cheat sheet and talking time during exams. My only problem would be the amount of homework in her class. You do weekly reading quizzes, discussions, and chapter assignments.
Lectures aren't bad, she takes attendence, and her exams are pretty easy.
I LOVE Prof Kondrad. Her lectures are actually entertaining and she uses her kids as examples all the time so it's very personal. Exams all have a 5x7 cheat sheet allowed, even the final. She's very organized with her TAs too and is so easily accessible if you have questions at all.
I never have good luck with big lecture learning, but was able to learn so much and didnt have to read textbook to understand better. I looked forward to attending and she is just so sweet.
This class had way too much homework for what we were learning. She's a fun teacher and has many TAs, so I never felt I didn't have the resources, but the courseload was so intense that sometimes I just had to skip it that week. The good news is that you usually only have to completely 2/3 homeworks for the unit.
Very sweet, TA's grade most homework assignments. In class participation is done by poll everywhere, and overall its a good class. She makes it entertaining by playing music before class.
very easy class all assignments are super easy and tests she basically allows you to do as a group with a cheat sheet. only annoying thing is poll ev attendance, you have to be there she gives specific instructions for the poll ev that people in the class hear but if you dont you basically tell on yourself easy class with a nice entertaining prof
So Kondrad is rlly sweet and gives amazing lectures, but her work is SO much. the textbook chapters are not short, and you read one a week and take a reading quiz, do a video discussion post, and complete a hefty assignment that typically has more readings or research involved. the TAs are helpful, SONA is easy, go to all lectures and exam reviews!
By far the best class taken. A lot of people complained because of the workload however I thought there was a lot to do but gained more information than I ever thought I would. She cared about her students like they were her own. She never singled anyone out or made anyone feel they weren't worthy. I recommend this class to anyone! TA's are helpful
You can really tell Kondrad loves what she does. Readings are super long, but they are helpful in the long run. Tests are kind of hard, as they are pulled from a large bank of q's, but she holds study sessions so go to those. Final is cumulative, and she does tend to have a lot of busy work. Overall, class isn't too hard if you just put in the work
Many people complain about the work load, it's not hard just time consuming. There are 3 chapter assignments per unit and you only have to do one per unit and get a makeup in the last one. If you took AP Psych in high school you will find this class easy. She is very nice and understanding and the TA's are wonderful.
Overall, Kondrad is an amazing professor who is super caring. The workload is decent, but not hard and it does prepare you for the exams. The exams aren't bad at all, you get to use a notecard and she gives you 10 minutes of talking time to discuss questions with people around you. I would definitely take her again!
Dr. Kondrad is a nice professor. She is great at explaining things and is really organized. Though I will say if you are looking for an easy Gen-ed, this class is not it. There is a lot of work, but the information you learn in this class is useful in life too.
Professor Kondrad really wants her students to succeed and she is such a caring professor. On exams you get to use a notecard and get 10 minutes of talking time with peers. The chapter assignments and reading quizzes aren't hard and they really help you prepare for the tests. In class you do clickers for participation points.
Professor Kondrad is super engaging and wants all of her student to do well. You have a notecard(front and back) and talking time for your tests. If you manage time well for your chapter assignments, then you will do good. If you are looking for an easy gen-ed, this is not the class for you due to the workload, but this class is super interesting.
Professor Kondrad is an absolute angel. She was so knowledgeable and interesting to listen to, and the lectures were not just informational but sometimes entertaining. There is a decent amount of work for this class, but its not hard at all. I 100% recommend her for this class- she is just amazing and really cares about her students.
This is a complicated class to rate. The professor was a great person and a great teacher. Psych definitely wasn't for me and I absolutely hated the class, but I passed without having to pay too much attention. The work usually isn't particularly difficult, but it will take at least 2-3 hours per assignment. You also get a note card on the exams.
This class is complicated, it is very easy as Mrs Kondrad and the TA's give a lot of free points and are very open to helping students succeed. But the lectures are very dry, Professor Kondrad also likes discussing controversial topics and promotes her students to get outside of their comfort zone, so if you are sensitive this may not be for you.
An amazing professor would definitely recommend for PSYCH 160. You do need to buy the textbook, but I recommend renting on Pearson online it's like $10 for 4 months (so a little over $40). There is a lot of work, but it pays off when it comes to exams since its super helpful for studying.
Kondrad truly wants the best for each of her students. Letting you choose which chapter assignments to do and allowing talking time & cheat sheets on tests, her class is easy as long as you put the work in. It is a lot of reading & long assignments but she does her absolute best to keep you interested. If you don't take Kondrad you are missing out!
Lots of work each week for class, but that's what saved my grade. There's a notecard for each exam, I didn't study only used the card, so I didn't do that good. However, all outside work will raise your grade. You take weekly quizzes and have weekly assignments, but you won't have to do an assignment each week. Assignments are time consuming.
Kondrad was my fav prof freshman year. She really cares about your knowledge and wants you to learn and understand psych. Super fun class and very interesting. Exams were super easy.
Dr. Kondrad is an amazing professor. She really cares about her students and is willing to take time to work 1 on 1. She does assign weekly quizzes and chapter assignments. The assignments are extremely time consuming. She allows you to have one index card per test (including final).
Kondrad really does care about her students, and she is very nice. However, her class was an insane amount of work. So much homework that takes a ton of time every week. Exams were hard, but you get a notecard on them. She would never be my first choice, but she wasn't terrible. Mandatory attendance using participation polls throughout class.
Attendance mandatory via poll questions. Weekly chapter assignment, discussion, and quiz. Chapter assignments take unnecessarily long for a gen-ed. a couple in-class discussion days thruout semester. tests aren't awful, i got mid 80s without studying for them
Professor Kondrad is a wonderful teacher who cares about her students. There are attendance checks worth points every class, so be sure to attend. Lots of homework and readings so be prepared for a heavier workload. Tests are about average difficulty, but definitely difficult if you don't study. She allows small notecards on the midterm & final.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER IF YOU WANT TO HAVE AN EASY GEN ED. HER WORKLOAD IS ABSURD AND NO NEED FOR IT. Great person tho!
Avoid at all costs if you can. This class is way too much work for a 100-level gen ed. I spent HOURSSS completing the weekly assignments and don't even get me started on discussion days. This class stressed me out more than my 400 level neuroscience class
I'm sorry, but I'm not RECOMMEND AT ALL. It is way too much work for a gen ed class WAY TOO MUCH. It's not needed at all. The TA's are excellent and helpful. Her class is boring, but you can't sleep because of the Poll Everywhere questions.
Very nice professor. Weekly chapter assignments and discussion board posts that take forever to complete. You get a cheat sheet note card for every exam plus talking time during the last 10 minutes to talk to your classmates and TA's about questions you don't know.
I LOVE ROBYN KONDRAD. She is so smart, caring, and most importantly, very educated about developmental psych. People complain about the amount of work (chapter assignments, quizzes, discussion boards) but it really does drill the extensive content into your head. In a lecture of 400 people, she made me feel seen and welcomed.
Seriously great professor. Lectures were entertaining and informative, you can tell she wants her students to succeed. There are tons of opportunities to improve your grade, you just need to be on top of things. Definitely recommend Kondrad!
The class is very difficult with weekly chapter assignments/quizzes, group project days, and exams. Nothing is easy about it, but with by attending her lectures and your assigned assistant teacher, you can pass with ease! Attend and be involved, her lectures are very relatable and interesting. Attend class, it counts towards your grade/extra credit
This was the best class I have ever taken, Professor Kondrad is caring and she really is knowledgeable about the subject matter in the class and she presents in a way that is easy to follow with interactive components and small polls and questions to be answered during lecture. She is easily approachable and makes passing this class easy.
Took her PSYC160 class last semester, and for a class with a metric ton of students she did very well with communicating with everyone. Lectures were relevant and genuinely helpful come exam time. She'll take time to help you out if you're struggling. The workload is a lot but if you stay on top of it you shouldn't have a hard time.
Kondrad is a caring prof who makes psych engaging. The workload is heavy, with weekly assignments, but the tests are manageable if you attend class and use study aids like Unstuckstudy. Worth the effort to learn a lot.
Dr. Kondard is super sweet and nice! She is very knowledge about psych and gives interactive lecture. The class was hard in terms of the amount of work, readings, and quizzes there are. You really need to study for exams and spend a couple hours a week doing hw. All that to say she is really nice and some people find it the work easy and manageable
I always look forward to going to her class bright and early in the morning, she is so passionate about teaching, you can tell she loves what she does. She does take attendance, and it does track your location, so you have to go to class. It can be a little work heavy if you procrastinate.
I liked how this class wasn't entirely exam-based; there are always readings and assignments to be done throughout the week so as long as you keep on top of it you should do fine. She also has a lot of TA's that you can reach out to for anything
I do like her, she is very passionate about the subject and the class is interesting but the assignments can become a lot especially when you are in other classes. The polleverywhere can hurt you but can also help you so don't overlook that.
Take Kondrad! Her class is super interactive and engaging. There is a fair amount of work, but none of it is too challenging. She allows note cards on exams and gives 10 minute "talking times" where you can converse with the people around you on the test. She's clearly very knowledgeable on the topics taught and is super approachable and kind!
Tons of work
I personally would never take this class again. There is nothing wrong with the teacher, she is very sweet and understanding, her class is just too much for a GenEd. This class will take up a lot of your time. There are chapter assignment every week that take up too much time and the discussion day assignments that take entirely too much time.
Dr. Kondrad is the best teacher ever! If you show up, get the work done, participate in polls (must be in class), and take notes you will be good! Helped individuals even in a large lecture hall and made sure to relate to the students. She uses her kids as examples and it is so helpful and engaging.
I would say she's a good professor even though sometimes the slides are less descriptive, if you go to class and pay attention and use the resources she gives you , you will be fine in her class. i would say tho downloading or writing the notes before and then only paying attention to what she's actually saying helped a-lot to work through things.
Great professor and does a great job at keeping the class involved. Very lecture heavy and that's where you will get a lot of the test answers, but it's worth going. Lots of homework, but if you complete all of it, you can do poorly on the exams and still get a good grade in the course. Overall, great professor.
she is a great teacher, she makes her lectures more interesting. homework every week, and she allows cheat sheets on tests and allows 10-20 mins of "talking time" after tests where you can ask other students and TAs questions before submitting your test.
Loved her class, very easy to manage the work but there was a lot of it. She gave cheat sheets for every exam and lets you talk to the people around you, even for the final. Love her would highly recommend.
I would not take this class again. Professor Kondrad is a nice person, and she definitely sets you up to succeed in exams, but I personally just wasn't a fan of her lectures or the material. For a Gen ed, it seems like there's excessive work that's just flat-out unnecessary.
Great teacher and easy class, just a lot of work. She lets you have a cheat sheet for every test, and at the end she lets you discuss the answers with people around you. Overall easy gen Ed and I would recommend her.
Kondrad has very interactive lectures. U can tell she is an amazing mom. She incorporates her kids development into lectures which supports theories. For exams you can't leave before a certain time but after that time you get talking time to work with people around you. For homework, for every unit you can choose 2/3 chapter assignments to complete
Lectures are interactive and fun, course itself is interesting as well. 3 chapter assignments per unit but you only have to do 2 of the 3; they're straightforward and easy to do if you spread them out through the week (you can cram them too but allot like 4 hours). Loved Dr. Kondrad and would 10000% take her class again.
Attendance is only a certain amount of points so you have built-in absences. You have weekly quizzes and assignments are easy, she gives one per chapter but u can miss 1 in every 3. You also have an 8x11 cheat sheet for every exam and at the end, time to discuss answers. Just review the textbook, and study notes and you will get an A. Fun lectures.
Dr. Kondrad was honestly amazing. Good amount of work but manageable. Make sure to attend the lectues and you will do fine. She lets you make cheat sheets for each test.
Attendance counts for only a few points so you can miss every once in a while if needed. Her lectures are so interesting because of what you learn about and how she teaches it. Tests aren't hard if you study for them plus you get a cheat sheet. Take her for this class!!!
Dr. Kondrad is really nice, and her extremely bubbly personality helped make the pretty long lectures bearable. She's passionate and tries her hardest to keep everyone engaged, which I respect. Just read the textbook and the class is a breeze.
Very easy class. She is a great prof
She is very nice and funny, though the work is not hard or bad. I would not take her if you are fulfilling a pre rec. Its a lot of work just for a pre rec. If you are a psych major, I do recommend her. I feel I have gotten a lot out of her class. TA's do most of her grading and are the most reachable outside of class.
Kondrad is awesome, super engaging. You'll have to go to her class to get full credit, and there's a weekly assignment. You won't have a bad time though! Great psyc gened. Prepare to do SONA
I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!!!! she is so sweet and actually cares about her students. there is one assignment due almost every week, but they actually help you understand the material. The lectures are not boring, but make sure to come to class because there is a poll everywhere for attendance and participation.
Professor Kondrad assigns a lot of homework but it's doable if you lock in for about an hour or two. She lets you use cheat sheets on exams so take advantage of that. Attendance is graded via Poll Everywhere so you'll have to attend class for that. There is a lot of readings but just space them apart you'll be fine.
This class has a lot of busy work but it is all manageable and easy. The exams are very straightforward and we are allowed a cheat sheet and to collaborate with our peers on it for a few minutes in the middle of them. She enforces a lot of collaboration which is kind of annoying considering it's a lecture with 300+ people.
If you need to take Psych 160 take Kondrad! She is so sweet and teaches the material well. There are Poll questions, so attendance is mandatory, but missing a few classes won't wreck your grade. Assignments can feel like a lot at times, but they help you learn the info. TA's grade and are pretty lenient. Have time to collaborate on exams.
You only have to do 6 out of 9 assignments and discussions. You get talking time on the tests. You can miss 5 class, attendance is graded through poll ev questions and you do not have to get them right. She connects her lecture to her kids which is nice to see! she is understanding and makes class not boring
Konrad is a very genuine person. The class is easy, but be ready to do so much busywork. You have to do 6/9 assignments, but they are lengthy. Discussion day is annoying because of all the work, but it does help. The tests are so easy because she gives you a cheat sheet, and you can talk to people around you. USE THE TA's!! they give you answers
Dr. Kondrad is a great teacher and her lectures are pretty good. She lectures the whole class and does pollev questions to count for attendance. You can miss a couple class and not lose any points. There are the 6/9 assignments and they do take the 2 hours and you also have the videos to do. The TA are also super nice and willing to help.
i loved her!! easy class with weekly assignments but all helped to understand information!! she was very nice and understanding!! 3 tests and mandatory discussion days. but she was awesome! lots of TAs because its a big lecture. would definitely recommend!!
Super sweet professor. expected workload for this class, but it was a lot. TRUST in your TA! they'll save your life. Tests allow cheat sheet (note card for the first one and both sides for the other two. all three are allowed for the final.) Take Kondrad.
TAKE HER, she is super sweet and genuinely cares about her students. TA's are great source and though there were weekly assignments they helped me understand the material better. Cheat sheets on every exam and talking time after the exams, she makes it so you succeed in the course.
she is nice and interested in topics. assignments are so hard but u do need to take like 2 hours maybe to complete the worksheet and discussion board. TA grade everything and they are fast at doing so. the quizzez r online and tests in person on lockdown. we can have cheatsheet, and the TA are all in front
Kondrad is a great choice for 160! Lecture heavy but very informative, uses poll everywhere for attendance points but you can still miss a few classes, weekly online quizzes are super easy, weekly assignments, cheat sheet on the 3 exams and final and you talk about the exam with peers before submission. TA's grade everything but are quick, take her!
I absolutely loved Dr. Kondrad!! Her lectures were amazing and I was able to learn a lot by her teaching style. Attendance is mandatory through polls, and there are a lot of weekly assignments, but her class is based off points for assignments and attendence, not percentages, so it was helpful for my grade. Love her!
Professor Kondrad was not the best at responding to emails, but TA's were and in a class of 300+ students that's fair I guess. Discussion days weren't the most helpful and I was not the biggest fan. She did have "talking time" after exams which are helpful if you're near people that aren't confused or are lucky enough to get a TA to come help you.
She's amazing! The class is so interesting and Dr. Kondrad is very funny and engaging. She allows you to have a cheat sheet for exams and discuss some questions you might not be sure about with people around you at some point during exams too, which makes my test anxiety go down. There's quite a bit of reading for the assignments but they're easy.
very very sweet and funny. class was always fun, tests are collaborative and you always have a cheat sheet. basically an online class, just make sure to do readings and quizzes outside of class.
Dr. Kondrad is the best! I actually enjoy her class and she makes learning the topics interesting. The out of class assignments can be a lot of work but TA's grade them and they usually are pretty lenient. The exams for the course aren't too difficult. You always get a cheat sheet and she gives "talking time". I would 100% recommend taking her!!
She was very engaging and super nice. It is a big lecture, so not much contact with her in class, but you do things in your TA groups. Lots of reading and homework and quizzed that go with the readings. However, she wants you to pass so she sets exams up for you, they are almost identical to quizzes. Take this class!
Dr. Kondrad is a professor that absolutely wants you to succeed in her class. There is a lot of work outside of class but it isn't too difficult if you pay attention and read. There is sometimes leeway with deadlines and the exam questions are pulled from the quizzes, definitely take her for psyc160. Poll everywhere questions each lecture though.
Super great professor, very interactive lectures, and I have never fallen asleep during her class. Lengthy assignments, which are kind of annoying but that and the discussions are both due Thursday. Exams are taken with a cheat sheet. TAs are there to help. I would love to take her again. Also, her kids she brings in are adorable.
I loved her!! You can tell she is very knowable about what she teaches and shows a lot of passion. Shes super nice if you need anything. The work is manageable just stay on top of it. You have a set assignment, a quiz, and a discussion post due every week. The tests are hard but just study as much as you can. The content isnt hard its just a lot!
Don't take this class for a gen ed. Kondrad is a very nice women but the work she give is super extra and ridiculous for a gen ed class. Tests are hard so be prepared to study hard, and homework is assigned every week. The homework she gives is on a weekly basis is ridiculous for just a gen ed class.
She was great! Has weekly assignments and at home reading quizzes, and discussions, not that much work, a bit of reading. Has 3 tests and a final, during tests you can have a cheat sheet and talking time at the end, the tests a slightly harder because of this, but overall she's great and super engaging even for a big class.
very kind informative prof.TA's did all of grading.weekly assignments and quizzes which were not hard. mandatory attendance until you get a certain number of participation point. passionate about subject. i enjoyed this class.
READ- Amazing person however 1. Every class they do quizs and they're graded based off accuracy, only gives MAYBE 5 seconds so if you miss it your grade is cooked. 2. tests are way too hard for a gen ed good luck. 3. you have these weekly assignments that take you AT LEAST 2 hours, weekly quizes, and discussions. TO. MUCH. WORK. FOR. A. GEN. ED.
Great professor, but the homework/readings take up way too much time. It also feels like there is an unbelievable amount of material for a gen-ed.
Kondrad is a very engaging professor. She makes her lectures interesting. Lots of weekly reading and weekly assignments that take a long time to complete, however she is a fair grader and if you put in the effort you will get a good grade, just make sure you do the readings. Can be a lot of work for a gen ed but the content is interesting.
Dr. Kondrad is amazing! There is a quiz, assignment, and discussion every week. At first, that is a lot to manage but it gets easier! TA's grade everything, exams and discussion days are easy and you can use a cheat sheet. Her lectures are so awesome and I always find a way to apply her class in my life! Take her class!!
Dr. Kondrad is an incredible lecturer and the class is very interesting! Be prepared to do A LOT of work, but it genuinely helps you actually learn the material. You get a cheat sheet for all 3 tests + final, and talking time during tests where you can work with other people. The class is in points, so make sure you are aware of her grading.
I loved this class. The material was interesting, the syllabus and grading is very clear, the TAs were very helpful, there were many easy assignments to boost your grade, and she prepares you for the exams very well. There were weekly assignments, extra credit, 3 tests and a final. Take this class with Kondrad!!
Your TA is the one that grades everything, you have 4 exams including the final but you can have a cheat sheet for each one. Attendance is mandatory because she uses polls but there is a lot of homework for this course but discussion days are important too. Your actually grade is different from the one on Canvas so be prepared if it changes.
One of the best professors I have ever had. She's very caring and interactive. Her and all the TA's are very knowledgeable and helpful. She organizes class and assignments very well. Weekly assignments, readings, at home quizzes, and discussions boards. For tests we would have "talking time" and a cheat sheet. If you can take Kondrad absolutely do!
