The weekly lab quizzes are not easy, study for them very thoroughly. Great PPt presentation, very straightforward and organized, great notes, she will tell you exactly what you need to know for the tests. gives 5 pt extra credit opportunity towards lecture tests. But you have to study, don't miss class, it's by no means easy! Great teacher!

She is good proffessor gives extra credit, lectures are ok (she uses powerpoint)she expects you to know the stuff well, tests are somewhat hard, but then again, after all it's microbiology!!!

She definately knows her stuff and teaches straight from her lecture notes, however be prepared to know the material in every direction because the tests are hard if you don't. There is also a lab quiz every weeks even if there is a test in lecture that same day. If you don't have time to study thoroughly do not take this class yet!!!

She's a cool teacher but she makes you feel like you're dumb if you dont know something.I loved the lab time and the quizes weren't that bad,but when it comes to lecture time she's not so good we finished the semester and she didn't even get through the whole chapters. If you are extremely smart take her otherwise try to take another teacher.

Ignore immature whiners! You put in the time and you will do fine. To the poster below: Sharpshooting and too many "dumb" questions slowed progress down, that's why we didn't finish chptrs. This is not Pre-K, it is PRE-RN-NURSING! Makes you scratch your head how some people got into the class in the first place. Teacher is good and fair.

She is hilarious and a great prof. I recommend her to everyone. Those who don't study will not do well. This is not an easy class because the material is difficult. She makes it easier to understand and her sense of humor is great. I never missed a class because I liked her style and enjoyed her class. I got an A with a lot of studying.

This instructor went out of her way to help each and every one of us. She is down to earth and truly wants you to learn the info. Her grading was very fair. She gave extra credit. She gives you all the info you need to pass, you just need to put in a little effort, because it is a hard subject.

Doc Mc G! Down to earth prof. Has alot of knowledge. Takes difficult material and dumbs it down for us. Gives us the material needed to succeed. Studying is a must due to material. If you put in effort and do the extra credit you'll be fine. Lectures were enjoyable w/ her sense of humor.

Posts notes on the internet which are extremely helpful. Always grades everything quickly. Super nice & funny. Very helpful in lab. Goes out of her way to make class a good experience & does extra research to answer questions she isn't sure about. Unfortunately, seems not to have much confidence so she kinda lets students walk all over her.

Wicked nice professor!!! Dr. McGilloway was available anytime I needed. She was relentless when it came down to us learning the material. All the information we needed was accessible online, and through her lecture. Never have I looked forward to attending a class as I did hers. She has an awesome sense of humor. Take her, you'll learn a lot.

Go to lecture, review all notes before the tests, and read the parts of the book that correspond to her notes. Doing this, I found the class wasn't too hard, but did require time. She's really a great teacher, and her lectures are not boring at all.

McGilloway in Biology and Wood in Astronomy are the two best teachers at SAC. And I HATE science. Dr. McGilloway is super sweet and very funny. I worked hard in her class because I wanted to reward her efforts to teach me. I got a B in a science class when I never thought I could.

Dr. McGilloway is the best Micro prof you will ever come across. She is very helpful and makes sure that the material was understood and will do anything to make sure of that. She gives a lot of extra credit. Book is optional if you're a science buff. Tests are easy and so is the lab. Easy A in my opinion. Not much effort required.

she's corny-funny! her lectures are pretty laid back! she does offer alot of extra credit and assistance when needed!! Her test are not as "laid back" as her lecture, so expect hard test and do as much studying on your own!! Lab is a piece of cake! I got a B in this class! (aimed for an A)

Dr. McGilloway is an exceptional professor. She truly cares how well her students do, and is willing to go the extra step to ensure they understand the material. There is alot of info for any Micro and Path class, so it is by no means an easy course, however Dr. McGilloway's presentation of the material is very helpful.Bottom line, she's awesome!

I remember I had her in High School. She really made chemistry crystal clear with her corny analogies :D and this really helped me ace chemistry in college and get rid of my "chemistry phobia", BTW, you heard it from an ME. I forgot to add, brains come with looks!

probably the best prof at SAC. got a PhD at A&M; never makes you feel dumb. she keeps you interested. the tests come off her powerpoints. very flexible, if you miss a quiz you can take it in another one of her classes. and you really do learn the material, not just coast. i cannot describe how great this prof is. it sucked when the sem ended

She is an amazing teacher and the way she explains things makes micro seem so easy.She uses her own material so you know what to study for the tests,but you learn so much from her.You actually do have to study,so if you're not into working for your grade this isn't the class for you.But you will learn so much from her if you choose to take her.

She is a GREAT professor!! You WILL learn A LOT from her and she keeps you interested with her witty sense of humor! I loved attending her class and she gives extra credit for each exam except the final. The final is no sweat and neither are the lab quizzes. You do need to study.

Great prof! She is really funny and gives great examples. She gives an etra credit quiz before each exam, her notes are online in power point, I rarely used the book. She gives you objectives for each chapter & goes over them before each test. Know the objectives for each chapter inside & out & you will do fine. Only needed a 71 on final for A.

Online Course: 1 homework, 1 lab, and 1 assessment each week (plenty of time to take them). No midterm. 1 Final Exam. She's very nice, helpful, and good on responding to emails. The homework and labs were difficult to do sometimes, but as long as you put an answer that makes sense down, she will give credit. I got 100 on all homework and labs.

My class was an on-line course. The readings were hard at first but with Dr. Mc Gilloway's notes it was easier to comprehend. Dr. Mc Gilloway was nice to talk to when you were not sure of the context and she gave you encouragement when you thought you did not understand the information.

Great professor! She makes the material interesting & adds in a sprinkle of humor to keep it fun. Know objectives (she reviews before test) & you will be fine. This isn't a walk in the park class, you have to work hard, but she is hands down the best professor to take and you won't regret it.

Excellent teacher ! I learned alot from this class. You do have to study for the exams its not anything to just blow off but along the way you will learn alot. This teacher is very friendly and if you attend class pay attention to her lectures, read the book and go over her notes there is absolutely no reason why you shouldnt recieve an A.

Dr. McGilloway is one of the best teachers I have ever had. If you take notes during lectures and listen, you'll know what is expected but it requires studying. Lab was good too, very interesting. Do the unknown report as you do your lab tests, it makes the report easier. Her passion is evident in her teaching and she wants everyone to succeed.

She is a great teacher who goes out of her way to explain the lecture to you one-on-one if needed. Her exams are multiple choice but they are not difficult at all. Questions come straight from her Power Points so just study them. Learned a lot and she does cover a lot of diseases and the bacteria that cause them. This class helped me on my HESI

She is the best prof I've had at SAC. She explains difficult material to make it relate to the real world. Lab quizzes every week, but they prepare you for lab exams. If you study her objectives you will make an A. I only used the book a couple of times. She is very approachable, very nice lady. Wish I could take her again!

My favorite professor so far...she is outstanding at presenting the subject matter. Her quirkiness and good sense of humor helped me learn the material. Gotta be quick to register for her sections; they fill up quickly!

This subject is NOT easy and wouldn't recommend summer school- very fast paced particularly for lab. Worked hard for my grade but she was instrumental in my enjoying class.

I took Environmental Bio online from her. Each week you are assigned 1 homework (easy easy, questions come straight from wileyplus and are VERY easily answered!), 1 lab (also easy), and 1 test. The test answers can easily be found in the book, and if not, you can always google. Take this class if you want an easy a! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

There are 4 lecture exams (she drops 1), 2 lab exams and 10 lab quizzes. You MUST go to every lecture and take detailed notes along with PowerPoints to do well on tests. She does do an extra credit quiz (+5 points) before the exam. Do well on the two projects to help boost you. She gives no mercy with final grade. Excellent professor, just tough!!

Gives lots of extra credit. Drops one lecture exam. Case study is easy. Don't buy the book. Here's the downside, she goes off topic A LOT during lectures and she'll try to cram chapters in for the final exam. The last few weeks in this class are hectic. It's difficult to make an A in this class, but you'll definitely pass if you make an effort.

She is my second favorite professor ever. She's actually funny, she knows what she's talking about, and she does take time for the big subjects. She is the reason I learn how ATP was made, my A&P 1 and 2 couldn't do that. If you take notes, do a little bit of studding, you should be fine. Don't bother with the book though, rarely used it.

Took her for a summer class and she was amazing, To have to sit in a class 4 hours long Monday through Thursday and still be interested and intrigued to be there is a testament to her skill as a teacher. She does not grade on attendance but what she goes over will be on your exams. The unknown report was fun and interesting!

Dr. Mcgilloway was an amazing professor! She was hands down one of the best professors Ive ever taken. Not only does she teach well, but she keeps the class entertaining. I took her for summer 1 and although it was a short class it was bearable! Just make sure you study study and pay attention in labs you will need them for your unknown report!

Awesome Professor! I was sort of dreading this class because who thinks micro would be interesting, right? Yep- wrong. She is funny and knows her stuff, I always enjoyed class and none of her stuff is deceiving- no trickery when it comes to testing material. Lecture and lab is informative. Would definitely take again.

She's awesome! Her lectures are fun and interesting, she's super funny too! Her tests aren't hard as long as you study for them and she always gives extra credit. She always had me laughing with her jokes, very fair at grading. Really pay attention to lectures, if she writes it on the board it will be on the exam. Only 4 homework assignments, 4 exams for lecture and 2 exams for lab, one report, and extra credit for each lecture exam. Definitely, recommend, pay attention and you'll get a good grade.

I chose to take Dr. McGilloway's Micro class based off of reviews on this site and I'm so glad I did. I actually chose to drive 30 minutes to and from class (twice as long as the drive to my home campus) just to take her class. Her tests are straight-forward, she doesn't try to trick you, but pay attention in lecture and study! She's quirky too :)

She is such a good professor. You can tell that she loves what she does because she exhibits it daily. The labs were awesome and the lectures were often detailed and humorous. She gives extra credit and her test are fairly easy. Take good notes from what she writes on the board and you will pass.

McGilloway is an awesome professor! She's one of the few professors that I've had that ACTUALLY teaches you the material not just reads off a powerpoint. Learned so much in her class! Tests are fair. If you study the PowerPoints and what she writes on the board you will do just fine.

Dr. McGilloway made micro so easy! I was scared to take this class after hearing how hard it can be but she makes things relatable. 4 lecture exams, 2 lab practicals, a case study, an unknown lab report and a final. My daughter was in the hospital for a week, I missed 3 days and my grade was not effected (shes very understanding) ParticipationA!

She is truly the best teacher I've had. She does the most for her students. She provides AMAZING lectures and has them recorded, along with AMAZING explanations to why things are the way they are. Dr. McGilloway was my best professor for my science classes. I took Microbiology with her and I actually learned a lot. Several options on lecture material. She tests you on what she has taught you. Down to earth and not complicated at all, makes you understand concepts so well and makes Biology look easy , I got A grade.

I know I would have gotten a better grade in this class had I not been so stressed with taking a&p2 in the same semester. Overall such a good professor all powerpoints and lectures video were exactly correlated on the exams. There are lab quizzes 10q each that she averages out and a unknown paper which is easy & gives feedback before you submit.

I can't express how amazing Dr McGilloway is! This is a hard class and but she acknowledges that fact so she doesn't make it harder then it needs to be. Her exams are tough but if you pay attention to her lectures and lab, you will succeed. She is caring and genuinely enjoys teaching and helps her students. I wish I had more classes with her.
