Gillis is a good teacher if u come to class and take good notes. He makes jokes to lighten up the class, and teaches the concepts quite well. However, you gotta do your part too. Not the easiest, but def not the hardest.
I think Gillis is not the best teacher but he is pretty good. True, his accent is not wonderful but he presents material in an effective manner (especially with 110). I have him for 204 Honors and he stresses Honors but its not that hard.
He makes the course very interesting and gives real stories about people he has encountered to exemplify the lesson. The class is fun and easy. All you need to do is take notes in class. His tests are mostly the notes and barely anything from the book.
He's ok. He talks about his dogs way too much and does not like to accept other people's opinions.
He's a good teacher. Makes the material easy to understand.
he's lol funny. makes fun of peoples stupidity and is very sarcastic. his teaching is flawless-get the notes in class and then get the A on the test. easiest course i've ever taken at THE U
THIS GUY IS A JOKE! Honestly the class was not so hard but he is boring as hell and his tests are much harder than the course material or lectures....he gets the questions from GOD knows where!
Dr. Gillis is a good teacher, who makes statistics about as interesting as it can be. His tests are not too hard, and he gives extra credit. It's funny to watch him be sarcastic to people who complain
Best teacher I have had so far at UM. Very talented lecturer, and outstanding teacher. In case you were wondering his tests come straight from the lectures with only a few questions from the book. By far my favorite lecturer, he is a natural at speaking.
Best teacher I have had so far at UM. Very talented lecturer, and outstanding teacher. In case you were wondering his tests come straight from the lectures with only a few questions from the book. By far my favorite lecturer, he is a natural at speaking.
He is a great teacher. he tells a lot of stories as examples for the concepts so they are all easily understood. for the tests, if you know your lecture notes well, you'll do fine. a few questions from the book, most all are from the lectures. come to class to take good notes!
He is a very good teacher, very entertaining. You have to go to class because the tests are based primarily on his lectures with a few things on the book. Very interesting class with an amazing teacher.

Fast talker... can not hold your attention for very long... very sarcastic... tells a lot of jokes but overall not a very good teacher
I had him for 204. Really works with you. Talk to him 1-on-1 if you can - really interesting guy. Everything is from the lecture, although reading the book before class prevents you from getting lost. He stresses a lot on concepts and theory, so don't expect too many easy-plug-&-chug problems.
Dr. Gillis makes even non-Psych enthusiasts interested, as he is an intriguing lecturer. However, his tests are NOT fun.
best teacher at this university... actually everyone in the psych dept is wonderful (except durel)
GREAT teacher-The tests are not easy at all, but I learned so much from that class and truly enjoyed his lectures. This man definitely knows what he's talking about, has great speaking skills, and is willing to help out in any way. Tests are mostly based on lectures, so show up to class!
Tests are difficult... basically only from lectures and picks the most specific little thing for most of his questions.. he was boring and i acutally liked psycholgy before and hated it after hin!!!
Dr. Gillis is hilarious! He makes lectures interesting, informative, and entertaining. His tests are fair and can be aced with sufficient studying. My advice would be to disregard the uninformed review below.
He's great for the lower level classes, but YOU DO NOT WANT TO TAKE AN UPPER DIVISION COURSE WITH HIM.
He's the man!

Relatively easy class, and he's easy to pay attention to.
Learned Alot! Got an A
Awful!

Awesome class, tests are a little bit difficult though. :)
i had him for psy 204 and psy 444.. awesome teacher got an a in both... im now in grad skool n taking his classes has helped a lot
Fascinating lecturer, clear, and concise. He trims things down to a manageable level and gets right to the point. He also provides very funny anicdotes to help you remember the lessons. He's a great prof. And he's a good hypnotist, too.
I aced his class, but he was a total moron. And boring as all hell.
The lectures are actually interesting!

His class is great! He makes his lectures interest by adding anecdotes and helping you remember the content. Possibly the best faculty input I had on choosing my major (psychology).
Presents the information clearly and it's obvious he actually wants his students to learn and understand the material
Great guy..i love this class, he's awesome.
One of my favorite teachers ever. Had no interrest in Psych before, and am now considerring more classes. He's a hilarious man, and really loves teaching. I love Rod Gillis.
This guy brings his problems into class and vents about them claiming that they're examples of psyche...
Great teacher! Interesting lectures with funny stories to keep your attention. As long as you take good notes and study, the tests are easy. I loved him!
At first I rarely went to class so I couldn't complain. But then I started going and the class still sucked. I thought the tests were very hard despite my really thorough notes and the notes of some classmates.
Easy class. C'mon, people. Little effort is required - show up to class, write down everything the guy says, and study that for the tests. If you can't get a respectable grade in Dr. Gillis' class, then you need to brush up on your study habits and motivation.
Who the heck is Rodney Pitcher? All this guy talks about is Rodney Pitcher, and it's sooo annoying!
Gillis takes some getting used to. At first, his lecturing techniques completely confused me, but I took my labtop with me and was able to get almost every word he said down...then the tests were a little better. The tests are touch if you don't go to class...so go! He's funny and entertaining and super sarcastic. In the end, I loved his class.
Excellent at lectures and always amusing
I took this class. I studied. It did not go well for me. We all took really good notes and shared them.
Dr. Gillis is not a very difficult prof. Just go to every class. Get all the notes. More helpful to read the book as well. I found it very enjoyable and was able to really grasp the concepts.
he teaches stats very well and his tests and quizes are fair. if you study you can definitely get an A in his class.
His class was easy if you did the following: went to class with a laptop and voice recorder. He's a really good, funny, professor who knows what he's talking about and makes the time go by without too much pain. If you take notes and listen to the lectures, you'll get a B. If you do those two, and read the book, you'll get an A no problem.
The trick is to take down notes. The anecdotes he uses to explain something usually appear on the test, so write them down.
Dr. Gillis has a sense of humor and has an understandable way of teaching. I suggest you make a few friends in the class to study with. And ask questions (he likes it when students are involved). Dr. Gillis also gave HW which were extra credit [18 points]. Great professor!
The class isnt that bad, but the professor is very opinionated, which is very ironic considering that he is a psychology professor. He makes it known on the first few classes that he HATES accupuncture!
The best professor i have ever had!! very funny guy!!
Great class, very interesting. Just take notes in class and then study them and you will get an A or at least a B. Not a hard class and not boring.
I absolutely love Dr. Gillis! I found him to be very interesting and entertaining and always looked forward to his class. I would definitely recommend him if you want to learn a lot and enjoy psychology.
Very smart/funny guy. He has the kind of personality that's allways entertaining. VERY good lecturer, he engages the students, makes interesting anecdotes, and at the same time he wastes no time getting through the material. I HONESTLY THINK DR. GILLIS SHOULD GIVE A SEMINAR TO MANY OF THE PROFESSORS HERE ON HOW TO PROPERLY DO A GREAT LECTURE.
1 of the coolest teachers at UM..makes the class interesting and provides examples that u will remember..just attend class and pay attention and the info will stick in ur head for the test..funny guy and curves the grades too..highly recommended! :)
a few tests and that's about it. Each test is about 60 questions long, all are multiple choice. Most information comes from his lectures, which he makes very interesting. Most of the time, his examples are hilarious. I recommend a laptop in class. His outlines are online and it's easy to just type up the answers during class time in the outline.
Gillis is the best ever
I love Dr Gillis! He is my fav professor hands down! He is such a great professor. I literally looked forward to his lectures. He is extremely funny and intelligent, and he has a great sense of humor. He makes the class fun with little stories. I got an A in all 3 classes. Take VERY detailed notes and study them word by word!
Great speaker, can easily keep your attention for the most part...taking notes via laptop is your best bet and write down AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Study the notes well and read and an A is definitely do-able.
I just took this class for Summer 1 and I was stressed out because it went so fast which I love/hate about summer classes. He is a great teacher though and pretty funny.
He is a REAL jerk! I don't know hoow he got so many positive ratings. He is very condescending and is anti-female. I got an A in his class but I had to work my butt off for it and I have a 4.0. He is VERY unwilling to help students and makes snarky comments when you attempt to ask for help.
Had him for statistics...he's pretty good at explaining everything and keeping your interest, but kind of a jerk if you ask stupid questions. Overall a good choice if you're forced to take stat.
His tests are not very hard. You just need to go to class. He is interesting to listen to but he has a lot of views that I do not agree with.
Gillis was a prety interesting prof for an intro class. Overall, the clas wasn't too hard but the tests were a bit tricky. Definitely go to class; you get a lot out of his lectures. The only problem I had with him is that he had a lot of opinions I disagreed with, but he was a good teacher. I def recommend him if you don't mind scathing comments.
Great teacher, really funny. Tests are based mainly on lecture notes and a little bit from the book. Lecture notes posted on blackboard
Gillis is a really good professor. I highly recommend taking his class. He is interesting, engaging, and funny. His tests are pretty straightforward. You need to attend the lectures if you expect to do well in the class. The book is very helpful, so read the chapters, although you can probably manage to do well without it.
I took PSY 110 with Professor Gillis last semester, and after transferring to Smith College, I'm taking Abnormal Psychology, Psychology of Adolescence, and Intro to Research Methods. Most of what I'm learning this semester is review because of how unbelievably comprehensive Professor Gillis's course is.
Fun guy, makes a lot of jokes throughout the class and makes his lectures fun and easy to understand. he puts his outlines online but you need to go to class to fill them in. great class, one of my favorites
Alright, so although attendance isn't mandatory, it is. He doesn't take attendance, but basically all test questions come from lectures. There are few questions on the tests that are derived solely from the book. It's interesting, he's funny, and it's a good way to spend 50 minutes. Take him.
Best Psy teacher EVER!
he is awesome! makes jokes related to the topic, you understand everything he says, he doesnt take attendance, but the tests are 95% on his lectures, i wasnt interested in psychology before, but now it seems like its so easy to understand because of him. if you need to take psy 110, take gillis, you wont regret it at all.
To get a B, go to class and take good notes and study them...for the A you will have to read the book as well. As with other psychology classes, the material is not difficult, but it does take time to study because its alot of information. After this class, I made psych my mionor. TAKE w/GILLIS!!
i took gillis fall 08 and every time i went to class i left upset and offended. he called our class "retarded" twice, and laughed that our section is no longer the honors class - we were just "regular." one morning, no one answered a question and he called us "slow" and asked if we did qualudes before class. i got an a- but take foote instead.
He grades fair and teaches effectively. However, he constantly complains about how our generation sucks which takes up valuable class time. He lets his own personal problems intefer with teaching. For ex, calling us "stupid" one time because no one could answer his question and he was frustrated that someone took down his Obama sign.
He taught what he was going to test on which is refreshing !! He's a little corny and talks about his mom and dog a lot but overall good class .. take him .. u can pass it ! ((make sure to take notes.. most of the tests are from the lecture))
I think Gillis is a great professor. His lectures are interesting and as long as you go to class and take good notes, you should be fine on the tests. It wasn't a difficult class at all. I would definitely recommend that you take it with him.
Overall, the class is very easily, but for you to get and A, you have to go to class and take good notes. Gillis tends to make stupid comments about the class, but just simply ignore them, cause he teaches pretty good.
I love Rod Gillis, he is smart, funny, and tells jokes during class. His exams are easy as long as you pay attention to the examples in lecture.
Good guy. Makes the class pretty interesting and worthwhile going to. His exams are a bit difficult. Overall a good professor to take
The test are fair. To get an A you need to go to class, take notes and read the book. Prof. Gillis makes class interesting and its easy to understand what he says. Highly recommended!!
Best teacher I've had at UM. His lectures are interesting and worth going to, and as long as you listen in class you will get an A. I didn't even take notes and I was able to get an A easily, HIGHLY recommended teacher.
I took his PSY 110 class and PSY 204 class and he's great and really easy compared to other professors. And he's most certainly not a misogynist! lol
Dr.Gillis is an amazing professor here at UM. He cares about his students and is extremely funny in class. He has the funniest jokes. The book is strongly recommended and it is not an easy A but if you pay attention and take notes you would probably do well. Attendance is recommended due to he explains important topics in each class that will be o
Great stats teacher. Cares about students and them actually learning! Tests are fair, never asks questions on anything he never said in class. engaging to listen to, makes a dry subject interesting. If you want to learn anything about stats take him.
Probably one of the best professors I've had at UM. He is very helpful, and gives many examples from his personal life to clarify concepts learned class. This class is not easy, but as long as you go to class you shouldn't have trouble getting a B at least. Tests are all multiple choice.
This class is a joke. I took AP Psychology in high school and got a 5 on the test. Since I loved AP Psych so much I decided to take it again. I started failing his tests. Tests based on what he says, not actual text. Pick a different teacher.
You would have to work hard to not get an A in this class. You don't need to be good at math or psychology to do well because he dumbs it down for you. Follow his class examples, study the quizzes, learn the different statistical tests and you're set for an A, maybe A+. He seems a little angry or frustrated sometimes which is the only drawback.
His lectures are crystal clear and always interesting. Take thorough notes and you can study from them for the tests, without using the textbook, and still manage an A. He clarifies any questions that you may have after class. Do not talk during lectures because he will become annoyed. Overall, I highly recommend anyone to take this class.
Great teacher, interesting class! Take notes because the tests are mostly based off them. There are a few questions from the practice book, but he'll tell you before the test if he put them on there.
Great professor!!!!! i know a lot from him! i decide to take psy as my second major after taking his class. he doesn't require attendance but i strongly encourage you to attend his class b/c its so useful!!!
Very interesting class, the best I've taken at UM. He is an excellent lecturer, and his lecture outlines make it crystal clear. His tests are very, very easy if you study and go to class every day. I did not miss a class, but that's because it was so interesting I wanted to go! He's funny and has great stories to tell. Definitely take Dr. Gillis.
Great professor super interesting super funny I just didn't do well because he ain't easy you have to actually study going to class isn't enough you need to read the book and your notes very throughly or you will not do well on the tests.
Great guy. Easy class. Ive missed 12 classes and i dont study and I have a B+. He keeps it interesting too. He also has a tendency to be slightly offensive without caring. It's great :)Love him.
He is not nice, he is offensive, and tries to find ways to take credit away from students.
He is extremely funny and tries to tie in the lectures to everyday life or crazy jokes...that way it's kept interesting. He is very offensive to those that believe in Astrology though, so if you have any pro-astrology views, he will make you cry. you should definately come to class and read the current chapters though. very friendly teacher.
Funny guy, gives you an outline for the notes and expects you to fill in the blanks... I liked the class until the second test... very difficult questions and he explained it was going to be that way THE DAY OF THE TEST!!! not cool making it so hard :(. he did curve it but it didnt matter the curve barely affected my F. ill keep the class though :(
His class is probably one of the reasons I switched my second major from creative writing to psychology. Funny and engaging, and yeah - a little bit sarcastic (but honestly, if you can't handle it - drop the class). If you study enough for the tests you'll do better than fine. I did: kept up with the readings, went to every class, got the A.
He is the best professor I have had at UM. Switched my major to Psychology because of his class. Make sure to go to every lecture and take good notes and it is an easy A. I studied for exams the night before and did extremely well. 3 exams and then a final, all multiple choice. He is also very funny and sarcastic. Going to the class is enjoyable!
Dr. Gillis is a wonderful professor with an excellent sense of humor. He makes it easy to understand and remember psychological terms and concepts through his interesting stories and examples and practical style of teaching. I highly recommend him.
He is hilarious and influenced me in declaring psychology as my major. Awesome teacher. Just make sure you take awesome notes in class and read from the text for the few test questions that arent from the lecture. he is awesome
Dr. Gillis was definitely the best professor I had during my first semester. He's interesting and hilarious during lecture. He makes psychology really fun and easy to understand. He was very kind and helpful when I asked for a recommendation letter, and he definitely wants his students to do well. Definitely take him, he is one of the best!
Either you love him or hate him. I thought he was hilarious up until he decided to be extremely unfair and not at all understanding when I had to miss a test for a personal reason and refused to allow me to take it early. Overall though, the class is not very difficult, even though he acts like it is and takes everything way too seriously.
He is an awesome professor! Even if you aren't interested in psychology, you will find this class very interesting. I walked in thinking I would hate the class, but I ended up loving it and switched my major to psych! It's an easy A if you attend class, take good notes, and read the book. He has a great sense of humor and cares about his students.
If you're taking Psych, you want to have Gillis. He is the ideal professor. He covers everything in lecture, he's funny, and his tests are a guaranteed A if you read over his outlines and attend class. A+ if you read the book also, which he wrote. Loved this class! He curves the tests, and for our final he gave a huge curve just to be nice. Take hi
BEST PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI! Take him! he makes the class extremely interesting! Thanks to him i changed my major to psychology!
Fantastic professor. Show up and pay attention and you'll be fine. He makes lectures really interesting and he is a really funny guy. He knows how to make good tests too.
Did not like this class at all all the professor does is make jokes instead of going over the material ! you basically have to just teach yourself ! even though he doesn't test on everything in a book.
I LOVED this professor. After his introductory class I decided to take a psychology minor. His lectures are very-very interesting. ANd if you don't miss any, you easily get A or B on tests. He is really great.
Such a nice teacher who's easy to listen to. He's funny, smart, and really accessible. His tests aren't too difficult, as long as you come to class and take notes for the tests, you'll have a great and easy time!
Take if you're good at memorization. I didnt do as well as I would've liked, bc I was unable to memorize everything. Gillis drops hints as to whats on his tests you just gotta pay attention. Everything is multiple choice. Very funny and smart. Take him if possible
great prof. recommended. just show up to class and memorize his notes that he hands you on a silver platter
Literally the BEST professor I have ever had! I have never had a teacher who explained things so clearly and in multiple ways so that all students would understand it. Not only that, he takes a genuine interest in his tests and whether or not they are good and how the students perform. Absolutely wonderful, take him!
great prof! attendance not mandatory but go cuz he makes questions based on things he says in class. hes very clear and keeps it interesting. funny guy. easy A even without the curve if you read over lectures and very involved with his students. wants the best for us. GO GILLIS!
Even though I had trouble with this class, I respect Gillis. He tells stories of his own life and funny things to explain the material. The class can get boring though, it is a lecture course. Take notes and read the book because the tests are hard. There are 4 of them including the final, but he does a weird grading system so a 60 is like a C.
I had class with him last semester. I wasnt fairing well and so I went in to talk with him. I told him my story (im a junior, I switched in as a soph) and asked what I could do. He suggested that I look smart, maybe it was in the way I was studying, or maybe UM is just too hard for me. Im a senior now with a 3.4 GPA.. Not saying im mad but hurt...
He's GREAT! I didn't care much for Psych, but after taking his class I decided to make it one of my two majors. He's funny, he's sincere and I couldn't wait to go to his class. Don't take his class if you're not planning on showing up. Almost everything comes from his lectures. Take good notes!!!
Attendance not required, lot of random memorization. Pretty easy class overall.
My favorite professor by far! He's great and he keeps things so interesting, always telling jokes and making even the dry topics seem entertaining. I can't come up with one bad thing to say about him, highly recommend! Do your work and go to class and you'll do well
LOVE THIS TEACHER. He explains everything very well and in an organized matter. All you have to do is read the side notes in the textbook readings he assigns. Take him! He is such an entertaining, funny, and cute old man :) This is probably the only class in my life that i actually enjoy going to.
This guy is awesome, he makes the class. He explained everything clearly and was very willing to help students. He was also very entertaining and funny. And his tests are super easy (or at least they felt easy because of his teaching). This was the only class I looked forward to every day this semester.
Gillis is one of those rare professors who is both rigorous and entertaining. If you take good notes in class, you'll be fine for quizzes/exams. As long as you don't love astrology (you'll see why if you take his class), Gillis is a great choice.
I was only relatively interested in psychology, but after taking his class I absolutely fell in love with it. It is evident that he is very interested in what he teaches and always does his best to make sure you understand everything. Very funny professor, very engaging, and gives great examples that let you remember the material. Take his class!
Easily my favorite professor this semester. Attendance is not mandatory but if you go to class the tests will be a breeze. He makes psychology interesting and easy to learn.
Great professor! He makes the class so interesting that you don't want to miss any of his classes. The test won't be that hard if you go to his lecture.
Take him and you won't regret. He can come off as sassy sometimes, but in reality he's a very smart guy and he knows how to make the class laugh. P.S. He hates astrology and stupid people XD
Dr. Gillis is a great professor! His lectures are interesting and can be funny. He class consists of 3 exams and a final, all MC. In order to get a good grade in his class, attend all the lectures, do the extra credit online quizzes, and memorize your lecture notes (his tests are based off them). This class can be considered an easy A. Take Gillis!
Lectures are kinda funny and interesting, some questions are based on lecture. Others are on the readings. Lectures were posted online. So pretty much an easy class if you stay on top of everything. Test were MC
One of my favorite professors ever! Test questions come straight from the lecture notes, so be sure to attend the lectures, even though it's not mandatory. He's hilarious and does a really great job of keeping the entire class engaged in his lectures.
BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD!! seriously i randomly signed up for this class to fill my schedule and i'm so glad i did!!! He isn't boring at all and explains everything very well. I have recommended his class to so many of my friends and wish i could take more classes with him!
Great professor, though I didn't got very good grade at tests but still I love his teaching style. He makes me feel like a old grandpa telling stories.
Great professor, classes are funny and interesting. I didn't got very good grades on test but I still love his teaching style, it was like a old grandpa telling stories. But you have to study for it for sure.
Took his freshman psych class and assured me in my choice to declare a psych major. Absolutely loved him and laughed all the time in his class. Great teacher!
Great teacher, incredibly funny, and always keeps his lectures interesting.
Rod Gillis is the man. He is extremely clear on what you have to do to do well in his class. He's a funny guy, and keeps class interesting. If you don't show up to class, you won't do well. however, because most of his tests are based off things he says in class.
It's hard to review him: he's *technically* a good professor, but his personality really prevented me from enjoying this class. I couldn't relate to him, and so his lectures were better spent reading the book or doing other work instead. Basically, most people will like him, but a few will find his personality (or ego) a large obstacle to overcome.
Gillis was one of the first professors I had at UM and I decided to major in psychology after his intro class. He's a really smart and funny guy and wants his students to do well. Most of the exams was based on the lectures so I wouldn't recommend skipping class even though attendance is not mandatory. Also he really hates astrology
Dr Gillis is a great teacher but he would be better teaching a 400 or 500 level class. He is way too smart for an entry level course. He moves very quickly and expects his students to follow along. If you didn't take AP Stats in high school, this class is going to be very very challenging.
Really good lecturer, and is very clear about what he wants. But A's are difficult to get. Grades on his own system that's a bit confusing at first, but you'll get used to it. Overall, for an introductory course, I really liked this course.
Amazing teacher! Loved going to his class. i never missed a lecture. makes material fun and exciting. very fair and approachable teacher. definitely recommend
Show up to his class, take notes on the concepts emphasizes, and read those notes for 4 hours the night before tests and you can get an A. His lectures are funny and clear (especially the comments on Freud).
Awesome good, funny, makes class interesting. Tests are 100% of the grade which sucks. Don't have to go to class but suggested. Tests are not too hard but definitely require studying
Favorite teacher at UM. You have to go to lecture to pass though, a lot of what is on tests are things mentioned in class and not at all in the textbook.
Gives great extra credit opportunities. Just pay attention in class and you'll do well. Great professor!
Gillis is the man! His lectures are very interesting and he tells great stories! Pay attention to the stories because they will show up on your test. His extra point online quizzes are a great grade booster, but if you go to every class and study your notes you won't need to rely on the quizes! Wish I could take this class again.
Just go to as many lectures as you can and you are guaranteed an A in the class. His test questions come directly from lecture, so you will miss some even if you read everything in the book. Barely used my textbook. Make sure you do all of the extra credit quizzes he talks about. Lectures are super clear. He prepares you for higher levels well
Love Gillis!!! I took AP Psych last year (got a 3, wish I had studied) so at first the class was boring because it was info I already knew and didn't care to re-learn. The course definitely picked up and Gillis really knows how to keep you interested. Although it's still a review for me, I want to go to class because of how fun he makes it.
His lectures are confusing and he goes through the material quickly. There are no power points. Prepare to teach yourself from the textbook! He even offended two students for asking him to clarify specific concepts. He is not approachable when it comes to asking questions or help for that matter. The tests are hard & he is a tough grader.
He's entertaining and straight forward with his tests. Attendance not mandatory but should go and must pay attention if you want an A because he asks questions based on lecture. Consistent with lectures from previous years. Has 5 points extra credit if you do quizzes (based on book). Need to buy book for course code but can get by w/o reading it.
He is a great professor, definitely knows what he talks about. He helps you if you show you are willing to work. Attendance is not mandatory but you should go to every lecture. Class is hard especially if you don't like memorizing bunch of stuff. If you need to take psych take him, otherwise don't take psych because its definitely not easy.
Great professor, very passionate about the subject. He's funny and tells great stories and gives examples which make the material easier to remember. Attendance is not mandatory but the tests are lecture-based and you should pay attention and take notes if you want to do well. He gives 5 extra credit quizzes, which can raise your grade a lot.
Imagine the cutest old man in your head and that is Dr. Gillis. He's a great professor too. The exams are easy if you go to class and take notes. I will take him for every psych class I take at this school if I can. I highly recommend you do the same because I heard Dr. Carver's PSY 110 class is much more difficult.
he goes over so much in one lecture and often tells you what to expect on the exma
Professor Gillis is amazing and this is my favorite class I have taken at UM. He is super funny and his lectures are clear. SHOW UP TO CLASS and take notes on what he says and you should get an A. He gives hints to questions on the exams during lecture.
This teacher is rude, opinionated, not helpful, etc. I took Psych because it fit my schedule and it was interesting to me; I take GREAT notes, and like most college kids I can't make it to every class; that said, I read the book, studied my more than thorough notes, and discovered his tests are based on random stuff he says, not facts.
While I realize I sit in the role of student and this professor sits in the role of well - professor...I also feel the need to say I've always felt respect is a two way street. Gillis - although maybe he means well - also gives off the vibe that it's his thoughts or no thoughts at all. No respect for other opinions, even if they're from a textbook.
Just take a look at the "Professor Note" on rate my professor left by this teacher for a kind of experience you'll get in class. Apparently an entire section of his class was "slow", and the ones who graded him harshly merely had "low self esteem" OR more logically, they just didn't like the professor they had.
He's a cool and funny guy, lectures are interesting. Tests are pretty straight forward as well. The syllabus will tell you which chapters are on the test, Just read those and you will be fine.
This class was very intriguing, however it is not an easy A. I regret not studying as much as I could have, but I still took away a lot from this class and it made me consider a minor in Psych. Very wise man to talk to. The class makes you think. No homework, but study. Quizzes are online, tests are multiple choice during lecture.
HIS LECTURES ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. HE IS VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT PSYCHOLOGY AND MAKES IT CLEAR CUT UNDERSTANDABLE FOR STUDENTS. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST AND I AM LUCKY TO HAVE HAD HIM TWICE FOR PSYCH CLASSES. THE BEST IN THE GAME, no doubt.
HE IS VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT PSYCHOLOGY, but its clear he is old school and is not too crazy about online class. He is a Tough Grader, Doesnt permit EXTRA CREDIT, LECTURE HEAVY, A lot of Reading, and Sarcastic
The ones that didn't like him probably either don't love psych as much or didn't like having to study for psych and pay attention in class. Attendance isn't mandatory but he tests based exactly on his lectures so if you miss even one class it might hurt you. He's HILARIOUS and the lectures are amazing. Taking him next semester. Highly recommend! :)
If you want an easy A for psych, do not take him. Needed to get 71/80 on my final to get an A- and got a 70/80. I went to all review sessions and office hours and he refused to bump me. Ruined my 4.0 because so close minded. There are so many other easy psych 110 at UM take a different professor if trying to get an A.
Really great teacher! Gives extra credit online quiz points. Tests are easy if you go to all the lectures, take notes, and study. Very minimal textbook reading. Lectures are fun and interesting.
He is the funniest professor I've ever had! His class is really easy if you take notes during class, he also gives online quizzes for extra credit. His grading system makes it really easy to pass, but you still need to study. He is a bit misogynistic though, which comes out during his jokes. Overall fun dude to have as a professor.
Prof. Gillis is hilarious! He's an approachable professor and the class isn't hard at all. Try to attend classes because most of the test is stuff he said in class. There are quizzes that really help at the end of the semester so, try to do those. You'll do fine if you pay attention and take notes. Overall a good professor.
All the tests are based upon lecture, but as long as you record the lecture or have someone record the lecture for you, you're on your way to an A. Also, he has extra credit online quizzes that are super easy and an awesome grade booster. His lectures are really funny (unless you have a soft spot for Trump). He's also super understanding and kind.
Don't skip class. Attendance isn't mandatory but trust me (I've taken two of his classes), if you miss even one class or don't pay attention to his lecture it'll probably hurt you on the exam. It's not hard, but you need to pay attention and review the material well before the test. He's hilarious and entertaining though I love him!
Omg his class was so entertaining he made me love psychology even more. He is hilarious and makes jokes constantly. He explains everything very well and if you pay attention in class you should do well on tests. Great teacher, I sighted up for his other psych class for next semester because I enjoyed his classes so much.
Dr. Gillis is a great teacher. Very funny and very clear. His exams are based heavily on the lectures so go to class!!! There is extra credit opportunity and he has a very clear grading system
Interesting class. SUPER easy as long as you attend every lecture and take notes. The tests have questions that come from lecture so as long as you pay attention it's an easy A. There's also easy extra credit opportunity. Don't need to read the textbook at all, just need it to access extra credit quizzes. DO EVERY EC QUIZ
I LOVED mr. Gillis as a teacher but did not like him at all as a person. Lectures were important, very informative, clearly structured, and everyone should do well if you pay attention and study. He had fair tests and is a very, very good teacher, especially considering the amount of students he had. He is however kinda mean and stuck in his ways.
By far the worst professor I have had at UM. Terrible lecturer, which makes material, boring as is, insufferable. Attendance is highly recommended; most of his exams are based on lecture. Class feels more like political brainwashing than knowledge based - obsessed with hating Trump + GOP. If I could have given this man a 0 out of 5, I would have.
Advanced Statistics - you must have some basic knowledge of stats to even understand anything in this class. He gives out note packets but his lectures are all over the place, the only reason I got an A- is because I read the book religiously and studied more than anyone else in my class. Tests are extremely long too.
Whole grade depends on 4 challenging exams mostly based on specific points made in his lectures. Easy to skip class because attendance is not taken, but DO NOT skip or you will receive a poor exam grade. Offers extra credit through online textbook quizzes if certain grade acquired . Talks a lot about when he was in graduate school in the 70's...
Pure cake. There is absolutely nothing on his exams that he does not CLEARLY state during lecture. He also has hella bonus points with extra credit quizzes. I only get max 1 question wrong per exam & I'm not even "good" at psych, he just provides you with everything, no outside thinking lol. If you got a bad grade, you must've never attended class.
I took this class to fulfill a cognate and was hoping for an A. I have never had any difficulty with past psych classes until I took this one. Tests are extremely confusing, and he likes to change things on his slides before and after class. Goes on unrelated political rants. Grades based on 4 tests. I currently need an A+ on the final to get an A-
This class was completely based on lectures so it will be very difficult if you do not go to class. However he gives lots of credit and if you go to class it should be fairly easy!!
If you have half a brain and go to most classes you can easily get an a. Grade is based off 4 exams of equal weight, he makes study sheets for them and the questions are what he says word for word in lectures. Can go off on mild tangents but all in all easy class kinda fun.
Professor Gillis made me love psych. His exams are completely lecture based (textbook is only necessary for extra credit) and his lectures are very interesting. No assignments, very fair grading system, just be ready to study LOTS of notes for each exam and try not to miss lectures or else you won't do well. He is great at what he does!
Great prof. Don't bother buying the text.
Gillis draws testing material mostly from his lectures and from the powerpoints, so make sure to take meticulous notes of both. If you hand-write your notes, I advise you to switch to typing them because it's easier to keep up--he talks fast. Also a very funny professor. Not super approachable, but will answer any questions you have.
Lectures are SO painful to sit through and he just preaches about stuff thats irrelevent to the test and brings up his hatred for Trump every 5 seconds, I literally enjoy reading the textbook more than listening to him speak. Tests are all multiple choice but SO HARD. I'll feel 100% prepared and still manage to get B's when I'm a straight A student
Great prof. The lectures are so interesting and he sparked my interest in Psych. There are exams and they are based off of his lectures, he literally uses the examples from class on the exams. There is extra credit and if you go to class and pay attention, you will get a A or B.
He was alright. His exams focus heavily on the topics he discusses during class and he expects you to remember what he said verbatim. He would also often start an idea in a sentence just to transfer to something else without completing the first idea, which I HATED. The material is easy and he gives extra credit but its just easy to zone out.
His lectures are solid. Social psych with Dr. Gillis is entertaining, interesting and relevant. He does not withhold his opinions. The tests are lecture-based, lengthy, multiple choice, but if you study you will do well. He gives opportunities for extra credit that involve online quizzes based on the textbook.
A God in Human form
The best professor I've had at UM so far. His lectures are engaging, he's very accessible outside of class and as long as you pay attention in class, you will do well.
He is the best person that I have ever meet. The lecture is not boring at all. But DO REMEMBER to review before the tests.
Gillis is so passionate about the subject, it makes you interested and passionate too. However, the grading scale is a bit weird, in that if you get a B- in all four tests, you end up with a C in the class, which to me is ridiculous. Your grade is made up of 4 tests, and that's it. Don't miss class, his tests are made up of what he says in lecture.
He is pretty dismissive because he doesn't care about PSY 110, only social psych. Most test questions are on random facts that aren't important to the overall concepts so a lot of pointless memorizing is involved. But, he gives extra credit quizzes that can boost your grade a lot. Overall, I do not recommend and he inspired me to change my major.
He's a great professor and I guarantee an A if you show up to class and take good notes. His tests are strictly lecture based, the book is only used for extra credit quizzes (which I 100% recommend doing because they can boost you an entire letter grade). If you need to read the book to know a test question, he tells you which sections to read/know
Literally just go to class and write everything he lectures about. Grade is based off of 4 exams of equal weight. Exams are literally things he says in class word for word. Goes off on tangents but can be funny and knows his stuff! Could have received an A had I just studied a little bit more than the night before the exam. Definitely study 2 days.
His tests are straight from his lectures. There is very few application style questions, as most items are vocabulary or scenarios exactly explained in class. He makes his lectures fun, and he's so funny. I took this course completely online because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and it was one of my favorites. The book is only necessary for extra cred!
Dr. Gillis has been the best part of my freshman COVID experience. His lectures show so much enthusiasm and since they are pre- recorded, it is easy to stay on track and make sure you take good notes. He teaches a lot of fascinating things and is very funny! I really hope to meet him in the future
Took the asynchronous version of the class which was self-paced, prerecorded lectures so I never got to meet him. However, from recordings he has a great personality and knows a lot. Class is graded solely by 4 tests, but my testing average/final grade including bonus points given by quizzes was a 100.5%. However, you will have to manage lectures.
Class was asynchronous, so never met him. Seemed like a nice, cute old man though. Goes off on random tangents in lectures, but they can be interesting. Only graded assignments are exams, but they're pretty easy if you take notes. Good amount of extra credit
This man is so engaging and funny. If you are blessed enough to have the opportunity to take one of his classes PLEASE DO!!!!! Love you Rod
Loved Professor Gillis. His class was asynchronous so he just posted all the lectures & readings & sent emails every week to check in & before & after tests. He is very smart & explains the topics well. Goes on tangents sometimes but it was funny and kept me engaged, even though the lecture was pre-recorded. He wrote the textbook so it aligns well.
Super funny and makes the class interesting! The pre-recorded lectures were lengthy but he makes little jokes here and there that it'll keep your interest. Lectures are long so watch them bit by bit over the course of a few days, NOT the day before the exam. Didn't take him in person so no idea what that's like but Dr. Gillis is THE BEST!
he a gem
Take Dr. Gillis!! He's so sweet and the class is mainly just exams and a few online quizzes. Not hard at all and mainly memorization
Really easy class if you're on top of the lectures! Class is asynchronous so do not procrastinate and watch the lectures with time. Series of lectures range from 5-8 hours for each test, only four tests on lockdown, no final. A very caring guy who knows his material and does optional Zoom calls once a week if anyone has questions. Highly recommend!
He is a nice funny old man. Those professors that really want you to learn. He gives great everyday examples to understand concepts. Grade was based on 3 exams, 1 final and he had extra credit. Just take notes and study the different terms a few days before exams, and that should be good. Straightforward questions and grades using 12 point scale.
Professor Gillis is a great guy and awesome professor. Very test heavy though. 4 exams and that all that goes into your grade. Really know the material for the exams and memorize the examples he using to explain the topics during the lectures as he tests you on what he said during class. Easy going class, but don't take that for granted.
Best professor I've had. cutest man everyone loves him and it's easy to do well in his class if you pay attention and study a little. all quizzes are extra credit and he posts videos of lectures online so you don't even have to go to class if you don't want to
Literally has all the qualities you want in a teacher. The content is interesting and his rants on astrology are a funny running gag. Participation is not mandatory but as long as you take/get notes you will pass. You never have to use the textbook and the answers to the quizzes (which are only counted as extra credit) are online. Great professor!
THIS IS THE INSTRUCTOR YOU NEED TO TAKE. I loved Rod Gillis and i am desperately trying to fit his social psych class in next semester. Exams are based on lectures, quizzes are based on textbook (but you can find them online). Engaging lectures. I never studied for exams until the night before or morning of. Aside from that, he is wonderful.
He is the best psychology professor at UM. He makes class funny and interesting. You don't even have to go to class to pass; just read the PowerPoints and memorize them and you'll be fine. Quizlets are the key to getting good grades on his tests, as it's all just memorization. The textbook is only used for extra credit quizzes!
Gillis is the best professor I've ever had. His lectures can be boring but the tests are so easy. Your grade is based on mainly the tests but the tests are solely based on lectures. He also gives quizzes that are entirely extra credit if you pass them. If you watch lectures and study the day before the test you are guaranteed an A.
One of the worst that you can take online and he doesn't even lecture during the specified time slot during spring 2021. If you did AP Psychology in high school throw it out the WINDOW everyone was doing so bad he had to curve down the class by like 6% so that more people would pass which was ridiculous.
Class is made up of 4 exams and 5 extra credit quizzes. No assignments or papers. Make sure you dont miss the extra credit quizzes and you will pass. 2 long prerecorded lectures every week or two. Make sure to take notes and study because tests are on lockdown browser, quizzes are not. A relatively easy class if you are interested in the subject.
You do not need to go to class to pass. Read his powerpoints, use premade quizlets to study the important info, and read the case studies and youll pass. You dont need to read the book, but need to buy it to take the quizzes. The quizzes are a literal lifesaver and you just need to pass them to get extra credit, which REALLY boosts your grade
Prof Gillis is a good professor, but he doesn't take attendance so it's up to you to go to class or watch the recorded lectures and take notes. Homework quizzes are extra credit which helps and his exams are word for word what he says in his lectures.
His tests were everything he says in the lectures, but lengthy. He makes his own grading scale so it was confusing. He gives 5 optional extra credit quizzes that will help your overall grade, only main grades are the tests. Pay attention in the lecture, even though he goes off topic.
His lecture requires you to listen and make connections. Best professor I've had at UM.
Very hard class for social psych. I highly recommend not taking him everything is based off of what he says. And if you do not have photogenic memory you are screwed. Take another social psych professor.
Gillis is a really cool teacher who makes his lectures interesting and fun to listen to. Attendance is not mandatory and you do have to buy the online textbook + code to do the optional quizzes but you'll never actually have to read the book. 4 exams are all that's graded and there's no homework. Pretty straightforward class, would def take again
One of those professors that makes you want to get up in the morning and actually learn new things. Loved his lectures and used incredible examples that always helped you learn. I studied the day before/on for each midterm and did all his extra credit quizzes. Taking him again for PSY210 because of how enjoyable his lectures were.
He is such a great professor. Lectures are so interesting. His tests are word for word what he says in his lectures so take notes. Super easy class. Adorable professor. Take him, you will not regret it.
Dr. Gillis was one of my favorite professors at the U. His lectures are engaging, he has a great sense of humor, and his tests reflect exactly what he focused on during class. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you go to class and take thorough notes, you will be perfectly fine. Also offers 6 easy extra credit quizzes. Take him!!
TAKE Dr. GILLIS!!!! He is probably the BEST psych teacher at UM! He will make his classes easy to sit through and really want you to learn psych. His tests are very straightforward & as long as you attend class and take notes, YOU WILL DO GOOD! He is also HILARIOUS! I would take his class again if I could- you could tell that he is very passionate.
I took this class asynchronous. grade compromised of 4 exams online, and there were 5 extra credit quizzes. His exams were much harder than the powerpoint lecture and powerpoints provided. this class takes up alot of time, and was not an easy 4.0 class
This class is very manageable. The class grade comprises of 4 exams. But there are also 6 optional credit quizzes that only boost your grade. Showing up to lecture is very important to do good on the exams, but the exams themselves are not too hard. I would take him again if I could.
2nd time taking Gillis because he makes the class fun with jokes here and there and is a sweet guy. Some of the chapters were confusing because there's so much information on them and he can go through it really quick. Exams are a bit hard but just pay attention in class. Optional quizzes are easy (answers online) and provide a boost to your grade
Professor Gillis does great at describing content in his lectures. Attendance is not mandatory, but it is necessary. The content on the exams come directly from his lectures. The content is not highly difficult, but I do recommend Quizlets to study. He offers extra credit in the form of optional quizzes consisting of material from the textbook.
Gillis is great for intro psych. If you go to class and take notes you can get an A easily, but part of the class is completing 6 research credits (which he dropped to 4 at the end of the semester) so you have to do like 4 hours of participating in psych research on campus.
He gives no homework and is just an amazing teacher for psychology. Take him !! He gives real-life examples and his tests follow his lectures. The only effort you have to put in is listening to his lectures and taking notes to help you remember things he says. Looking over those notes a night or two before the test will guarantee you an A
great teacher
you have to go to the lectures if you don't want to fail. the only source of information you have to study are the words he says during lectures so you NEED TO listen and take notes every single class. if you just study your notes exams will be super easy. all mc exams with xc quizzes that add basically a full 10 points to each exam.
I loved Prof. Gillis. I wish I had done better in his class, but I honestly didn't study for his tests at all. All of his tests are lecture bases, so you have to go to his class. I missed a class once and felt really behind. he does provide extra credit and it's super easy (online textbook). I loved how cheeky he was. He was so funny lol
really easy class, just show up to lectures, annotate the slides with the real-life examples he provides and just review them before exams or make a quizlet. he does a great job at explaining the topics and is charismatic so the lectures are interesting, if you put in the effort to review you should pass with colors flying
Really great class and really great professor. Very lecture heavy so take lots of notes. He mentioned several times throughout the semester that their were many students who weren't doing well on the tests due to insufficient studying. About 4 tests, each test covered multiple chapters and they were about 60 questions on each test.
Best professor I've ever had and I'm a junior now. I was only taking this class for my cognate and I still loved this class. The lectures were great and he gives you perfect examples to understand the material. You can tell he actually cares about his students. I wish I could take another class with him.
Gillis basically has bullet points for each topic on the slides and then explains each bullet point/topic in depth. Try not to miss any classes or you will feel behind. Gives extra credit through super easy not mandatory quizzes. Wish I could take him again.
His tests can definitely be hard, but if you study you will do fine. I definitely recommend him as he makes his lectures very fun and interesting, got me really passionate about psychology.
His grading scale is amazing, he's a funny old professor. He's mostly powerpoint and lecture heavy. Although, he doesn't require attendance, on the tests there are sometimes a "lecture" section in which he asks questions from things he's said in class. Text isn't mandatory, but he does have extra credit quizzes that help boost your grade.
I took online PSY 110, so I had to do a lot of work on my own anyway, but I will say that this class has so much content so you need to be very self sufficient. The tests cover his lectures AND the textbook so you need to basically know everything (but he tests more on his lectures usually). He takes a while to respond to emails, but he's very kind
Gillis is by far my favorite professor at UM. He cares about his students and is passionate about every subject he teaches. He knows how to keep the class engaged and is clear about exams. I'm not a psych major/minor, but if I were, I'd take every psych class he teaches.
love this guy.
Dr. Gillis is hands down the best PSY110 prof. Overall, you're graded on 4 exams, last one being a non-cumulative "final". Exams questions come directly from lectures, so although attendance isn't mandatory, you need to go to class. He gives you 6 extra credit quizzes that do a lot for your grade, but you need the textbook to do them. Take him!
Gillis' class is pretty straightforward. Although, you will fail every exam if you do not go to class. Attendance is "optional" but his provided notes are completely blank. Go to class, take careful notes, study, and you'll be fine. He does make class interesting through funny jokes
go to class = good grade
If you study, you will do fine on the tests. Your grade is heavily based on the tests so unless you got majority A's on the tests you probably won't receive an A in the class. Great Professor though but definitely need to go to class and work for your grade.
His lectures are so fun and he is a funny guy. BUT!!! The tests are HARD and I would never take another psych class with him cuz YOU HAVE TO come to lecture. You miss one lecture and you're doomed because he does not test anything from the textbook. Also ur entire grade depends on exams and I REPEAT, THEY ARE HARD!
Gillis is a great professor who gives clear lectures. Everything from the lecture is on the tests and you need a near-perfect memory to do well. During office hours he is condescending and unhelpful but overall his class is easy so don't fret!
Professor Gillis is a great professor however, if you are not proficient in memorization you will not do well in his class. Your grade is comprised of 3 exams and the final therefore if you do bad on those, consequently your grade will be bad as well. You need to attend his lectures to do well on the exams as he pulls questions from what he says.
Great, cool professor. Lectures were fun and easy to understand. If you go to lectures you never have to read and can easily get an A. Very passionate and understanding. Curves and extra credit are great. Has a lot of mercy. Inspired me to change my major to psychology. Great feedback on tests just make sure to attend class or catch up on notes.
If you do not come to class, you will fail this class. Super amazing teacher and the lectures were entertaining. 6 quizzes, and each counts as extra credit as long as you get above 75%. Tests were hard and you need to study to do good on them. As ling as you take notes during his lectures and study those notes closely, you will pass.
Really good professor, textbook isn't really required but is necessary for extra credit.
Dr Gillis is a really great professor. Attendance isn't technically mandatory, but everything on the test is based on lecture, specifically what he says. The little extra credit quizzes are not worth buying the whole textbook, unless you just want to buy the textbook to study. Overall, he's very funny and says silly things from time to time
Class is easy enough and tests are based on lecture slides. Gilis wants his students to like him, so he likes to make jokes. Sometimes in class he will point out things that will be on exam or explain a more important topic.
Professor Gillis was an amazing professor and is extremely knowledgeable. His lectures are rly interesting but you do have to show up to class & take notes to do good on his tests. That being said, he gives out a study guide of the topics to study for the test. He also has quizzes where you can get extra credit if you score higher than 75%
Textbook not necessary except for EXTRA credit, but, monotone voice and you should create a study group and you'll be fine.
Dr. Gillis is a phenomenal professor. The tests are almost entirely lecture based so attending his classes is important for good grades. That said, his lectures are very interesting and he is very personable. If you pay attention, take notes, and follow the study guide, the class is fairly easy.
Dr. Gillis was easily one of my favorite professors at UMiami. I took him for PSY110 and PSY210 and he was great in both. He's passionate about the material and uses almost only lecture material on his exams. It's easy to pay attention in his class due to his humor and obvious love for teaching. If you go to class and pay attention, you'll do great
As a professor, I enjoyed class and thought it was well taught and he is approachable. However, I wanted to note that frequently brings politics into this class (nearly every single session). He is OBSESSED with Donald Trump, he is not an active supporter, but he talks about him in nearly all lectures. I enjoyed him but I needed to mention this
Excellent professor. Class is super easy. Take detailed lecture notes and attend class. Study notes before tests and you should do fine. Really nice professor!
Professor Gillis is so funny! If you have the chance to take a class with him do it! The course had four multiple choice tests throughout the semester, as long as you take detailed notes on what he says in class you'll do fine. I will miss him when he retires!
Gillis brings a fun, engaging vibe to his lectures, but don't be fooled - the exams are no joke. Stay on top of attendance and take detailed notes to do well. unstuckstudy ai was a lifesaver for preparing.
He is very passionate about what he teaches, his lectures can get kind of repetitive and boring. But overall, he is a good professor.
I took his class online, therefore, it was a bit different, he was allot tougher on his online students, however, his lectures were very interesting but they were very lengthy and sometimes could get boring. You can tell he cares about his students success.
His lectures are extremely heavy and hard to follow. It's literally impossible to write down every little thing he says cause he rambles too much and you really need to take notes to pass the exams. His method of teaching just isn't the best if you can't write or type fast and end up not writing down some things he says.
You can tell how passionate he is about his work. I liked him alot, but he gets off topic way too much. (3+ times per day) and it is always about trump. i agree with everything dr. gillis is saying but we are here to learn more than debate politics
Dr. Gillis had good lectures for the most part, but he would get off topic (usually about politics) quite often. This class is very tempting to skip, but the exams are no joke, so I'd recommend to go to class. Gives lots of extra credit that ended up saving my grade. Final is not cumulative. When studying for exams, going over the PPTs works well
Sad he's retiring, AMAZING professor who made psych really interesting. Going to every class and studying hard for each of the 4 tests is CRUCIAL for getting a good grade. It's completely doable tho.
