can be a mean and sarcastic but is funny.. hes easily pulled off topic which starts some funny conversations in class. He tells you whats gonna be on the test and writes down the important stuff on the board, so take notes..

Prof. Boyd made class really fun, graded fairly and made got off topic alot, but when he was off topic he spoke about his college days. I highly recommend him.

he takes a while to get used to but if you have questions hes very helpful and gives great lectures... and everything he says in class will be on the test so take notes and you'll never have to read the books

Fantastic teacher...never boring. He's enthusiastic, funny and tells good stories. I personally did have to use the book, but I only skimmed the "areas of emphasis" and I did fine. Study the notes, rd some info from the bk and you'll be fine.

His class is really tough, it's on the level of an honors class. However, unlike most instructors, he does care how his students feel gradewise, so he assigns extra credit projects which are actually worth something, instead of the usual, measely 5 points that most teachers give.

Professor Boyd is a GREAT professor...Come to class but you can get away with missing some...read texbook a lot of questions come right out of the textbook and lecture...He knows his stuff...It is a lot to learn and a lot of lectures...He is a fun and a nice professor. If you have to take this class take it with him!!!

One of the greatest teachers I have ever had. To get an A all you need to do is show up and listen to him talk. You learn about a lot of things in his class, but its his experiences and knowledge that really makes it easy to learn from him.

GREAT TEACHER! just show up for class, really listen to him and thats all you need to pass. took 2 of his classes and loved them both. never needed my book. best to take art appreciation along with this class its the same material

Very interesting lectures overall from a prof. who makes it fun to attend. He is passionate and knows his material to the T. For lack of a better word, outstanding. Unfortunately he only teaches this one subject. Reccomend taking his class. If you don't like the immature atmosphere, don't attend community college.

This man is crazy, i dont like his test, you actually have to read the book and an extensive amount of notes, i have however learned a lot, just nothing on the test questions.

He is an excellent lecturer. He can be very blunt but is usually pretty cooperative and understanding regarding projects or essays.On more than one occasion he has let people turn in assignments late.Im horrible in history but he is a good enough lecturer that I barely had to study. You have to be pretty incompetent to fail or struggle in his class

Wonderful professor, really easy if you come to class and take notes. But make sure you look on his website he does put alot of information on it and he will expect you to know it. Overall great professor.

He is not crazy, just eccentric and fun-ny. Attend class and you will pass. Attendance graded and tests are long, challenging, and without reviews, but the extra credit he provides on EVERYTHING ensures an A if you take the opportunity.

He is a great teacher, have no interest in humanities but he made it interesting and fun every day. you will learn a lot, if you do what he asks you will be fine. tests are tough but all multiple choice and one essay that you can choose from a couple of options that are given to you prior to the test. i wish more teachers were like him.

Good professor overall. He cut me a lot of slack when I needed it the most. His tests are pretty much multiple choice so if you come to class and study what he says then you should have no problem passing. The chancesto grab lots of pointsare as easy as taking a picture and doing photoshop and writing a play critique,easy points (up to 200)

Great professor! Grades easy. Cares about subject. Let's you ask questions out loud. Cancels class sometimes and lets you out early. Tests= mult. choice, T/F, and one essay question but he tells you everything you need to know. Really tries to let every student who does their work succeed.

By far one of my FAVORITE professors! He's pretty goofy, and teases students a bit, but nothing harsh. If you listen to everything he lectures in class, take notes on the things he writes down on the board, and study what he puts up to study on his website page, you will pass no doubt. He also gave two extra credits worth 50 points total! Great guy

Prof. Boyd is a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable speaker. He has traveled a lot and enjoys sharing his experiences with the class. He has the text memorized and can recall the page number of topics he is discussing. You'll do well if you come to class, do your work and participate in class discussion. I really enjoyed his class.

I would have to say was not that interested in this class at first but Mr. Boyd make it interesting and fun. You learn a lot. He knows his stuff right down to the page number. He actually made the class fun.

At first i thought he was going to be a boring professor. But Mr. Boyd is the funniest dude i know! he reminds me of cleveland from family guy. His teaching is kinda fast, due to how much he knows, but if you attend class and read your text book, you will do well

Great Professor! I'm thankful I took his class and learned SOO much! He's very passionate and informative. Walked away with an A but you do have to work for it. He's very understanding and will do everything he can to help his students be successful. You do have to put in EFFORT though and study the material. I want to take him again. :)

Prof Boyd was one of the best teachers I've ever had. His lectures are interesting. Write down what he writes on the board, read the pages he tells you to and you'll make an A on your test. All I had to make was a 20% on my final and I'd make an A. Needless to say I got my A. :)

Really great teacher. You can tell he is really interested in teaching the class. A lot of the things he talks about in class aren't in the book so you will have to get very detailed notes from somebody if you are absent.

THIS IS A GREAT PROFESSOR! people who say he is not a great teacher are wrong! Professor Boyd knows what he is talking about and makes the class fun and very interesting. Read the pages you need to for quizzes and you're set. Easy A if you actually pay attention. He really is a great professor!!

I liked this teacher. I had him my first semester at Collin and he was cool. His class is kinda hard sometimes but overall its a good class. I run into him sometimes and after almost 2 years he still knows my name. Good teacher overall.

Seriously this guy is freaking easy the reason he gets bad ratings is because he gets the lazy students if you work hard you will get a good grade NO DOUBT. Boyd is an awesome professor.

He's a great professor who is absolutely passionate about what he teaches. He has so much information about history and the arts. He does not like students skipping and will not take late assignments. Period. Just show up to class and take notes and you're getting an A!

I wasn't 100% sure if this class would be worth my time but it was and prof Boyd was chill and there wasn't a crazy overwhelming amount of reading in the textbook or notes to take and the tests and quizzes were pretty easy if you paid attention in class. All in all I suggest you see what classes he offers. Best prof I've had at collin so far

Did a great job making the class interesting but especially over the part of the Vikings.

his classes were entertaining and informative. he really loves what he's teaching and will do what he can to help you get an A. put in the work you'll do fine. study hard you lazy fools. he was great. i would take him again. definitly a prof. i would talk to on campus. which i did! he was a great professor.

Professor Boyd is really good guy! He is really funny and is very passionate about his subject. If you pay attention to class and use all the material he gives you. You will pass! Interact with him ask questions! His test are a bit tough but passable.

The only thing challenging about this class are the tests. No matter how much you study, the grades turn out very low. Everything else is very easy in this, so its not hard to make a good grade. Attendance is graded for extra points. Book required for quizzes and tests. Overall funny teacher but does not go outside of the rules, strict.

He gives really good lectures! At first, you will find him boring and will want to drop out but that all changes a few weeks in. The material he goes over are honestly really interesting and he knows what he is talking about. He goes over mostly everything you need to pass. I did not buy the book and received an A.

Just began his class and 3 lectures in I can tell he is a very good guy who tries to give you breaks by creating conversation rather than insane lectures.. Just pay attention when he does teach and review your chapter (if you dont have the book use PPT) His clarification is crystal clear and if you read, I can already tell I am going to like it.

I enjoyed this class until we had our first test. I read all the material we were given, never skipped class, studied hard & only got a B. The questions were over tiny details that truly do. not. matter. ex q from test: how many tons of marble were used to build a certain building? something only mentioned 1 time in class. must read book to do well

He like to bring out class discussion. If you don't read the textbook or take class notes, you will fail. He cancels classes often too. He's a good guy in the end and teases his students.

He is a nice guy, and can often veer off in lectures, but it's usually very funny. I did not study once in this class and made an A. He does give quizzes and test that can be a challenge when you don't study, but as long as you don't skip class, he will pass you. If you need this course, I would recommend this professor.

Do everything he asks and pay attention and you'll get an a. Yes, some of the test questions are random, and on my final he repeated some of the same random questions, which sucked because I don't hold facts like that very well.

Tests are not difficult if you go.

Prof Boyd is AWESOME! He does not provide too much or too little course load. If you read the textbook, you WILL pass. 10/10 would recommend
