Great teacher, definitely not what i expected as a speech class. He keeps it interesting

This man knows what he is talking about.. the class is so hard. you have to give a speech every class and it has to be good. No written work at all.. just speeches and speech games. He is a great person and teacher. Only take this class with him if you are loud and not afraid of speaking in public whatsoever. he will embarrass you.

Mr.Burris's speech class is alot of fun.Sure its hard when you have to get in front of your class and give a three min speech on any topic and still keep it interesting so i wouldnt recommend it for anyone thats totally against talking in front of people.Plus he is hot..so bronze and brain sounds like my kind of professor

He is an amazing teacher i tell everyone who needs to take speech needs to take him. He makes it easy to talk in front of the class after a few tries. If you fail this class something is totally wrong with you because he makes it so easy to pass. TAKE THIS TEACHER FOR SPEECH YOU WONT REGRET IT.

Mr. Burris is a cool professor and i think that he very deep on the way he teaches a class.

Class was very helpful in learning the fundamentals of how to communicate with others and learn some basic knowledge of self. Professor was very dynamic and taught with vigor.

This teacher is super laid back. Allows late work to be turned in at any time until the last day of school for a max grade of a 70. Quizes on videos are super-specific. Need to know everything about the video. Extra credit is to go to speech lab. Easy class, easy credits, easy teacher. Don't buy the textbook, just share.

This guy lead a class that was easy to understand provided you payed attention. he graded tough, but it taught us to make quality work. overall, good class, instructive teacher.

I enjoyed this class he was very helpful with everything. Anytime i hasd questions he always had a vry helpful answer to help me understand. He a very hands on teacher and for me personally that helped me learn even better.

Hands down the best teacher I have had since I've been attending CCBC. His teaching technique is very effective and everying you learn absolutely helps with communication outside of the classroom.

He made class only Wed & Fri. I like and dislike him. He can be rude sometimes, but usually funny. He's cocky, loves to talk about himself, always has to be right. I love the way he teaches though, but I also find him lazy. You do more than he does. Speech every Friday, video notes due Wednesdays (easy) and Wednesdays you talk about Speeches.

This guy is fantastic! He's very engaging and inspirational. He's honest and passionate about helping his students and always has a purpose for each class. He grades honestly, but fairly. His class is not hard at all if you show and pay attention in the slightest. He honestly cares and that's the best part.

He is a fantastic teacher! He is very engaging and interactive, but also allows you to speak for yourself. He obviously has passion for helping students and is the perfect teacher. I wouldn't ask for anyone else and (if it were free) I would repeat the class just for him. **Highly recommended

I am always willing to learn but when I learned that I had to take this course I was not so interested. I thought I knew all it was to know to communication, lol. Me.burris is an amazing teacher. His only downfall, he isn't very clear when ihes telling you what exactly he wants out of you, homework and paper wise. Besides that, he is all around an amazing teach and makes speaking in front of people just that much easier

Mr. Burris is a excellent teacher. He made EVERY lesson fun and entertaining. I honestly wish all my teachers taught like Mr. Burris because I would attend class all the time without any hesitation. I really feel like he pushes you to do better but opens up the class to one another so that you don't feel awkward in front of others. You also are graded by personal growth. I definitely would recommend anyone to take this speech class.

Coolest teacher ever, he understands that students in college have a lot to deal with academically wise, he pressures you to do your work but not in a negative way. Class was always interesting and there was never a boring day. I actually am now able to communicate normally with people I barely know. Great class, great teacher.

Class was really engaging and teacher is pretty funny. Assignments are pretty easy just follow the directions. Don't buy the textbook, he won't use it.

My professor finds great ways to grab our attention when class starts and while he is serious during class, he also knows when to tell a joke to keep the class focused. He doesn't play favorites and talks to everyone each class. His instructions are easy to understand and he gives a decent amount of homework. My feared class became my favorite.

Certainly he is a great professor, not only attention grabbing but he did a good job with understanding everyone after our first speech since he knew people were at different levels and he pushed those he knew could excel and guided those with experience to harness their skills! Fun class! everything had a tie into how it can used in the real world

At first, I disliked his teach style. He was off the book (I had to return the textbook) I prefer a structure teacher with an outline and a game plan. By the end of the semester you really understood why he didn't use the book! He truely is an amazing man. He helped me understand a lot, and not just class related things; overall he improved my life

Professor Burris is very relatable. His personality is very cool and laid back, but he does what needs to be done. Taking his class not only teaches you how to correctly communicate, but it also teaches some life lessons that you may be able to pull apart to help in your own life. BEST TEACHER EVER ! This was my FAVORITE class the entire semester ! Mr Burris is an excellent professor. He really cares about his students and it shows. He is easy to relate to. He believes in all of his students and he tries his best to get you out of your comfort zone. I wish he taught other subjects so that I can chose him again.

Professor Burris is awesome. I would recommend him if it's your first year in college. He gives many lessons just not in communication but for life. I would retake his class if I could. We never used the book but everything he lectured about was clear, effective, and worth while. Register for his communications class and you'll be good. Easy A.

Dr. Rodney Burris was the most inspirational teacher ever. He's there for you, he cares for you, and he shares with you. He is a wonderful teacher. I actually just recommended him to someone today that has to take speech but is too shy to do it. He encourages you to stride to be better, the best you can be.

A great teacher that has a good masterly of the subject content and disseminates it satisfactorily. He is patient with students of diverse cultures and abilities as he assists them tap their potentials. You will be lucky to have him.

RCB was an awesome professor, I wouldn't mind taking his class again. Amazing lectures and valuable life lessons. We didn't the text book. Get ready to come out of your comfort zone - speeches! Make sure you know how to print double-sided,hint hint. I would definitely recommend you take his CMNS class, you wont regret it!

He is a great professor. I wish all of my professors were more like him.

Definitely a great course, 10/10. Casual approach makes it easy to expand comfort zone and fun to come to class. You will not be bored. Had some problems, like the week RCB wasn't clear about which days "in lieu" applied to and then said we didn't know what the term meant, but those were rare. Don't be afraid to do something crazy in your speeches.

Amazing teacher and the best I've ever had

He's one of the coolest teachers I've ever had. His class is really hard for me because I'm shy and not good at giving long speeches that's why I didn't do very well but he's there for you. Class is really deep

Prof. Burris' teaching method confused at first but over time they were easy to adjust to. He would inform us of hey words for our weekly topic on chalkboard and got us active in group activities with identifying our character and who we are. He is a teacher I wouldn't recommend to anyone with his style of lectures but he still is a nice teacher.

Mr. Burris was one of the most inspirational professors that I've ever had. Even though the course material was relatively difficult. Mr. Burris brought me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to realize who I was as a person. The skills that I've obtained from this course I will most definitely use in my everyday life. TAKE THE CLASS!!!

He challenges you to branch out. He gives excellent lectures if you can call them that,because he is so funny doesn't feel like you are learning. Hardly any homework. 2 thumbs up

Easy going and respects the students as adults

Mr. Burris is a great teacher. he is very fun and likes to joke with his class. However if you skip class or do not complete assignments you will fail the course so make sure you stay on top of it

Mr. Burris was easy going, but I couldn't allow that to fool me. He's tough, but fair. He gives tons of commendation which was extremely motivating to me. He made me want to push pass my comfort zone and be okay with the true me. I constantly think about our lectures in class and have become a better communicator as a result.

I feel lucky I could get in to his class. Amazing professor, inspirational lectures, and his requirements are simple. I would take his class again and again. The way he teaches helps EVERYONE understand his main points, and that makes the class easy.

Mr. Burris is an amazing professor with a passion for what he does, this has been my favorite class I've taken in college so far.

He answers any questions necessary but I never had too many. The class isn't hard. It is rather pleasant and I can carry some things I learned with me even after the class. Excellent professor

He shares an in-depth relationship with the students, understanding their strengths and weaknesses and providing specific feed back accordingly. He engages the class often in lectures and challenges the class intellectually. Students are graded on applying what they know, rather than regurgitating information. A great class I wouldn't mind retaking

I loved this class .. You get really comfortable at the end of the semester with everyone. I HATE public speaking! But this class has helped me start to bring that wall down, so I can be able to speak infront of the class. Would take it again! We barley came to class lol!! Didn't have to buy the book either, always a plus for me $$$!

Genuine and real. It is made mandatory that you come face to face with what you love and hate about yourself. Intense teachings of simple principles. Definitely more than I expected , in a positive light.

It isn't your typical class with PowerPoint presentations and boring essays or speeches. It is about communication that can be applied to every aspect in life. He helps you evaluate yourself to dig depper and find how to improve the way your present yourself. You won't regret taking his class.

Porfessor Rodney is absolutely the most humble and inspirational porfessor at CCBC. It was an honor to be a student of His. HIs teaching skill is applicable and full of wisdom. Professor Burris has a real passion for public speaking. I truly believe that his passion is to encourage and inspire through his speaking and teachings. He utilizes his own personal life experiences to encourage others. Rodney takes grading very seriously, but he knows how to make class fun with his sense of humor and outgoing personality.

Prof. Burris is legit! His lectures are inspiring and I often left there feeling good about myself. He is vibes!
