he's so sweet, he explains entities in a way where you build confidence and think your smarter then him because hes so humble
Mr. Taylor is everything a math teacher should be. He is very careful to make sure you get it. He is very very patient and a gentleman. They should double this guy's salary. He will do everything to help you and amazingly you will learn even if you are not that good at math to begin with. If you can't learn with him you just aren't trying.
i would never ever take him again for a math class. especially for a higher level class he teaches us like we are babies and have never taken any other math class. he writes every word on the board which is a big waste of my time and money. i used to love math and had a 4.0 in math but now i dread going to math class.
Rodney is the best math teacher I've ever had - he gives plenty of notes, lots of take-home quizzes - exams are fair & come from notes/hw/quizzes. Some people didn't like the notes or examples he gave in class, but the notes are helpful for studying and hw. Rodney's a great instructor - take his class!!
Mr Taylor is an excelent Math instructor I was strugling in alegbria, but after a while his class was really intresting and easy, also he is so helpful by meeting you during his office hour or at ASC his test was all right, I am glade that I have him as my instructor for MAC 1105, finally just do your homework and evry thing else and you will be ok
Not helpful at all.
One of the best teachers in the department. He makes sure that everyone in class understands everything, going over homework and any other questions you have. Must do homework and take home quizes. Can be very slow at times but I found this to be at my addvantage.
Great teacher! If you're slow in math, like me, take him. Uses examples from the book, gives plenty of fairly easy quizzes ranging from 1-10 ques. each that boost your grade, willing to help you understand the material. Sometimes he can be too slow and other times too fast. Overall a pretty good teacher.
Great, great, great prof. He is always willing to help you during office hours and around class time. He is never condescending. He has enough personality to keep class interesting, but is never obnoxious. Highest recommendations on this guy
He explains well but does not seam to care much! I understand him well thought!
bad teacher if you do not understand something he doesnt know unless theres examples in the book he doesnt know what he is doing
He knows how to explain things and he is alwyas available to help before class and during office hours. The only thing that sucks is that he holds you to attendance and won't give you credit for class even if your just a few minutes late.
not helpful
He is a good teacher. I took him in MAT0002 and I will be taking him again in MAT1033. He takes it slow and he will work out any problem that you ask him to so that you understand.
Very helpful, has study groups after class. Will work out any problems. He does make you accountable and you must attend class to get credit for assignments.
Mr. Taylor is absolutely wonderful He is excellent at making sure his students know everything you can tell he really enjoys teaching. All of you saying he's not helpful your CRAZY!!! The man knows his stuff front back & side to side he has a PHD! shows what you know :) -CHELSEA PARKER-
Good teacher, no handle on students. Took this course and a few students were talking on cell phones and eating, making crunching noises. He didnt do a thing about it. Very hard to learn with a few bad apples in the class. He needs to stand up more and cut the cell phone use and the eating. If you cant eat before class or make a call, DONT GO!!
Mr. Taylor knows his subject perfectly and is very passionate about it. He is very dedicated to teaching and helping students. He truly goes out of his way to help all those willing to work. His only downfall is his way of explaining new concepts. I can't put my finger on it; usually the lectures are enough for me. Perhaps I've been lucky thus far.
Close your eyes, think back to where you were in 2001...try to remember if you watched a movie that year, perhaps a Russell Crowe movie? Perhaps a beautiful mind? This professor was exactly like that. He knows his stuff and through it pretty fast. He's there to help though and he's good at explaining. Plus he kind of looked like Russell Crowe.
Mr. Taylor is a great teacher. He will help you in class and after class. He is very knowledgeable about math.
Dude barely knew what he was talking bout have the time. Could never understand any questions asked and constantly repeated himself on useless matters
Although he may know his stuff, he rambles and repeats meaningless stuff. He seems slow (mentally). The class isn't enjoyable, in fact it's hardly tolerable. It's an easyyyyy A or B and I never do the homework, still have an A.
Mr. Taylor is a great teacher, although the class is definitely difficult. He is very helpful. I was struggling and he really helped me and he tries his best to ensure that the class understands the material. PLUS, he looks like Russell Crowe :-D
This is a difficult class to start, but Rodney has been very helpful to me. I struggle w/ math, but w/ a lot of hard work have a solid B. He is extremely helpful in office hours as he will guide you in the right direction and make up problems that are similar to what you will be tested on. This has been one of my fav classes and I really enjoy him.
I was not looking forward to this class at all. Math has never been my best subject and here I was taking Calc. Mr. Taylor is probably one of the smartest most helpful teachers I have ever had. He really wants his students to do well, but you have to put at least some effort in. I would definitely reccommend this guy!
Very helpful with any questions you may have. Walks around the classroom and asks if you need help. He is pretty easy to understand.
Overall, he's really cool and good teacher!
My favorite teacher at DSC! He is very helpful and held multiple study groups/classes before tests out of his own time. I love Mr. Taylor, he is a very cool guy even though he never wants to share anything about his personal life. I took him for Intermediate Algebra and College Algebra, taking him in Statistics this Fall!
Mr. Taylor is very helpful and he provided supplemental instruction which was great. If you go to class, do the homework and study you should be able to ace the tests. I definitely recommend him.
Awesome Professor!
I took Int. Algebra with another instructor and couldn't follow, so I failed. Took the class again this time with Mr. Taylor, and I passed, He made it easier to follow and very good at explaining every step and why it's done how it's done. I'm starting today in his College Algebra class, and I'm not even worried about it.
Ok, just finished the College Algebra class with Mr. Taylor. This guy really wants everyone to pass, he goes over the problems that gives a majority of students the most trouble, he is always there to help. Good attitude. Recommended for sure.
I took both 1024 & 1033 with Prfessor Taylor. He is professional and is always willing to help until you get it. He spends a lot of extratime helping in the ASC lab. I would definitly reccommend him if you want to pass your classes and also make sure you do your Labs at the ASC.
I was very nervous to take this class. Mainly bc It had been a while since taking any math course and bc Daytona State is not my primary college. I think he is a great professor, explains well, takes time for his students, and is professional. I actually like coming to class and enjoyed learning statistics! I would recommend him to everyone
I took MAT1033 online and took the time to meet my teacher in person and glad I did. He was always very helpful. Anytime I called he was available or if I sent an email he would respond right back. Scared to do math online bc not good at math but I found doing math online much easier and enjoyed math by the end of sem.
Writes his own notes and explains the chapters very well in his notes. Does reviews before 5 exams, some quizzes in-class & online. One project near the end of semester with a group of people. Write down his notes and look em over, they're on his exams. GOOD TEACHER and generous!
I have taken this class before and failed it because of a lack of interest on the part of the teacher. I was lucky enough to get Mr.Taylor this time. He is engaging with the class, knowledgeable, and sweet. I plan to register for my next math class with him as my teacher. He will help me get through it.
Very knowledgeable, helpful, and sweet. A wonderful teacher and person. I recommend taking his class. If you are afraid of math, he will help you no matter what. Also, very nice to look at ;)
Mr. Taylor is such a great teacher. He's very helpful, sweet and knowledgeable. He wants you to pass, and will do everything he can to get you where you need to be. Math is hard for me, but Mr. Taylor explains everything very well so everyone can understand. Besides the fact that he is very attractive, which makes math a little easier to swallow.
Great teacher.
He's awkward but knows what he is talking about. He looks like Wayne Coyne from The Flaming Lips.
He is an awesome professor & instructor. He's very smart & helpful & clearly wants everybody to pass his class. He will help you with whatever & encourages you to visit his office if you need help! Everybody should take him!! HE"S F'IN AWESOMEEEE!!!!
He is very helpful, he teaches you exactly what you need to take the test, he is patient and always willing to help, he is very fair with grading. i highly recommend him.
Easy content, not hard to follow instructions. Tests are straight forward and project is simple. Recommend taking him for a grade, one of the easier maths I've taken and recommend taking this prof. Many topics are boring and repetitive at times but if you understand the materials it is an easy class to get through.
Wonderful teacher. Goes out of his way to be helpful, enjoys what he does, and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone understands the material and does well. Very nice person to boot. I very much recommend him for the class and for a raise.
I took his class during the summer, so it went by fairly quick. He never rushed through the material and answered all of the questions that were asked. The tests are exactly what he teaches.
I'm quite shocked at the positive reviews. Mr. Taylor teaching methods are unprepared and sloppy. I have the impression he does not really care about his students due to the fact he doesn't try to learn names or help us. His lectures are slow and dumbed down to a point that is confusing. I recommend taking another math teacher.
He is brilliant, and though easy on the eyes, he doesn't hesitate to work the red ink on your tests; that will actually prove to be helpful if you do the corrections. " Difficulty level" so pay attention and ask questions. When he points something out, high-light; complete the homework so you know what to ask, and ask.
There is no homework in this class, so 70% of your grade is based off your exam scores as well as a slightly confusing (and he doesn't offer much help) end of semester project worth 10% and the cumulative final worth 20%. It's a hard class, not an easy grade. He's not very personable at all.
He's not the most interesting teacher but his class is pretty simple. No quizzes or homework. Exams are 70% of your grade and pretty easy just go over the notes. He also posts the notes online but I recommend showing up to class. The final is 20% and there's a group project in that's worth 10%. I got a B in the class because I skipped the project
Mr. Taylor, is an excellent professor, he takes an extra step for his student, he works with his student one on one,he wants everyone to pass, but you must earn your grads. I pass all my college math classes with ( B+ ) but i'm struggling with statistics, this course is a very fast paste. I WISH DSC CAN MAKE BRAKE THIS CLASS IN TWO SIMMESTERS
Over 70 homework problems on each section. Mini-projects every week. Assignments before every test. Tests every other week. Not enough time to study because your working on so many assignments. Memorizing all the formulas all-of-them; even for the final. It's work load overkill. Barely keeping your head above water. Get ready to make math your life
Crazy amounts of HW (not for a grade). Before each test you are required to do an additional assignment and mini project (that has nothing to do with that specific test, and more than likely he never went over the material before). He does not plan lectures well; often times he fails to finish lecture prior to the end of class. Doesn't accommodate
Easy Class. No Homework. Just pay attention, take notes, and study and it should be an easy A. No papers, 5 tests, and one project (you can work with others). I got an A on almost every test and math is never my strong suit. He gets a little annoying because he repeats stuff a million times but at least you won't forget it.
Mr. Taylor was an awesome professor for online college algebra. I thought I wasn't going to pass the class to due computer issues, but he made sure I passed. His assignments were pretty clear and easy. As long as you do all your work and put in an effort you will do fine. I highly recommend Mr. Taylor.
Taylor was a great professor. Good lecturer and great examples. took him for calc 1 in summer and got an A. he stayed after class multiple times just to give extra help and examples. Loved him!! always tried to give partial credit on exams, gives you as many points as he can.
I was worried at first about this guy, he proved me wrong. I really enjoyed his class. He was one of the best teachers I've had. He stayed over at least an hour almost daily to help students practice more problems. He made a difficult subject easy. Expect to work, but if you do the work, you will pass.
Mr. Taylor is the best professor I have! He's always willing to help you, he has a great sense of humor which makes him respected by the students but he assigns a lot of reading. Usually not bad at all you just have to make sure you check D2L before every class so you don't forget. And bring the textbook!
I heard a lot of bad things about statistics but Professor Taylor explains everything in such detail and answers all your questions so that you understand completely. He also does test reviews which are great. I just showed up to class and studied after the test reviews and did well on all the tests. I highly recommend Prof Taylor!!
Always willing to help. Thorough explanations. Wicked smaht. A bit awkward at times. Engaging, so he'll know your name but also call on you at some point, so pay attention. And his p-value must be .05 because I would fail to reject him, if you know what I mean.
Great teacher. Calls to check in on you. Does live study sessions to help you understand.
He spends a very long time on each subject which makes his class relatively boring but the information is very clear.
The course material is VERY easy, as long as you show up to class and watch him do examples. The tests mirror what we do in class. We used the textbook for homework 4 times (annoying). Allows 3 unexcused absences. He repeats himself A LOT, and teaches until 1 minute over class time, but if you want an easy math class, he will be a great choice.
DO NOT TAKE ! ! ! Tests are NOT what is taught in class. You have a better chance teaching yourself the material outside of class.
This class is honestly easy if you apply yourself and do all the homework assigned. Since I took a summer class, there was a lot more homework and chapters to get through at a faster pace. I'm not the best at math and was surprised on how quickly I understood the material. Definitely take his class if you want a good online math class.
I did not like this professor. I had him for Survey to Mathematics. You go to class half the semester and he "shows" problems from ALEKS (computer program thats your homework) and the rest of the semester you meet in the ASC to work on ALEKS or projects. Theres 5 projects to do at home throughout the semester and 380 topics on ALEKS to do.
If you have difficulty with math, especially the abstract problems, this is your class. 65% of grade is with ALEKS, an online class taken on your time. It is good because you can request repeated explanations for problems that you have. Additionally, Prof Taylor always available to help. 35% grade on four assigned projects and 5% attendance.
He was really laid back when it came to showing up late or turning in homework. He gave partial credit on problems and gave extra credit to those who showed up to SI. Overall great teacher and he would post the notes from the lecture online
Excellent choice for Statistics. Very caring, clear and straightforward lectures, lecture notes are posted online, makes sure everyone is following along, keeps the class engaged, very respectful, whether you're good with math or not he will teach the most intuitive ways to get the answer.
Although I passed his class due to help from others I would have definitely failed due to how unenjoyable his lectures are and how he jumps from subject to subject before anyone can comprehend the concepts he tries to make. if you are good in any kind of math you'll be fine just keep up with aleks but if you not don't recommend you take him as prof
hes great with helping students who dont understand the material that well and dedicates whatever time he has to helping students after class. i took the 6 week summer course face to face and enjoyed it a lot. he didnt assign homework just two small projects that he would stay back after class and give anyone help on. id take him again.
Great instructor. Responds to emails very quickly any time of the day. Willing to work with you to make sure you pass the class. There is a lot of homework. I took this class in 7 weeks online and it was very difficult but possible. I would definitely recommend the 16 week course.
Great guy, not the most sociable person, but he will work with you until you understand. I had him for a couple classes, Calc and higher level math. I would positively take him again.
I wouldn't recommend Mr. Taylor. He seems like a nice guy, but it's hard to feel anything personable with him and when he teaches he seems like he would rather be doing ANYTHING else than having to teach. Easy class if you show up when he explains the projects and complete your topics on ALEKS. No tests.
He is a good professor who cares about students. I would definitely recommend him. His class was easy enough. I had technical issues for my test, he was understanding and tried to help as much as he can.
This guy was funny, he was also very nice. He also gave good feedback after grading projects.
A caring Professor who is understandable, and will work with the student as much as possible.
Professor was very nice and helpful! He was very understanding of situations. He emailed letting students know if we need extra help he is available. I took his class online. I highly recommend him! Work load wasnt too bad had a couple assignments due every Wednesday. His assignments corresponded with his online tests.
Professor Taylor is a caring and supportive teacher. He challenges his students to work hard, to really think about the material they are learning and try to understand it. He is happy to help when students have questions. Prof. Taylor is a great professor and I would gladly take another math course with him.
Nine grades over the entire summer and the first two I received 100 and 98.7 on. Very good for Geometry, and other maths I would assume as well. Posts useful announcements, creates videos on his proofs, and is not rude at all. Communicates well, does not create insanely difficult equations, and pretty much is a chill dude. 10/10 would take again
This class I very easy, you dont need a textbook but you do need to purchase the $90 Aleks code. Theres a project every 2 weeks. He doesnt really teach anything in class. Its kind of hard to understand him. If youre looking to learn and be become better at math I dont recommend this class. If youre looking for an easy grade then take this
Professor Taylor cares about his students. He is always available to answer questions even outside of his virtual classroom hours. I had the best experience, I will definitely take my next math class with him.
Professor Taylor explains concepts really well. He had office hours as well as extra virtual review sessions. He goes in depth with the really important things that you will need for the tests as well as to take on to calc 2. He is so caring and wants his students to do well. I would definitely take him again.
This was an easy class and the professor was awesome. There is a lot of work in the ALEKS program but you go at your pace. The professor also assigned Projects and there were 5. You can work on them as a group or individually. I did them by myself and and had no issues. He gives tips and hints on how to answer some of the more difficult ?'s. EASY A
I took this class for Spring A and it was honestly not that bad. There are 5 projects and the course is strictly on ALEKS. Projects weren't hard at all also Professor Taylor responds and grades things pretty quickly. Will definitely be enrolling in another class of his in the future!
Spring A- About 4 homework assignments are due a week plus the test. If you can work at a fast pace I would recommend this course. I myself am horrible at math but his review sessions were a life saver. Hw and tests are on Pearson while the 1 project and few discussions are on the regular class site. The final exam wasn't that bad just study.
If you have a busy schedule I do not recommend taking this course as a half semester. It can get really challenging so prepare to work hard for a decent grade. This is not an easy A course unless you are amazing in math. The professor is caring and respectful, he really believes in his students. Patience and dedication is how you will succeed.
Professor Taylor is very knowledgeable and really cares about his students. He goes above and beyond to make sure everyone understand the assignment and concepts throughout his course. He makes himself available for any extra help that a student may need.
Professor Taylor was amazing, the class wasn't the easiest but he helps you along the way and is extremely clear and helpful while explaining what to do. I was able to learn so much and he teaches very well. He's also understanding and helps you if needed. He thoroughly explains what you did wrong if anything on the problems.
Mr. Taylor is a great professor. If you show up and put in the work, you I will be successful in his course. He is quick to respond to questions and always willing to help. Participation in class is helpful. He teaches to ALL learning types.
I'm currently enrolled, he's great! The workload is the usual: chapter homework, pretest reviews, 6 tests, & weekly discussions. YOU WILL NEED A TI-84 calculator not just a phone or Mathway, trust me! The tests carries a lot of grade weight, so please pass those, he'll even hold virtual reviews before the tests, you can even participate. Good luck!
Course was strictly online, if I wanted to take online course I would have.. He jumps around in his teaching/lectures where it does not make sense especially if you do not understand the topic/have never learned it. He questions his teaching too which is unhelpful to those who have not been taught the material.
I'm taking his college algebra course, and he makes it as easy as possible for everybody to comprehend. His tests cover all of the required material, and he doesn't try to trick you with his questions. He's willing to help outside class. There isn't too much homework in his class - just show up and give some effort and it should be an easy A.
I 100% would recommend taking this professor if you like to work at your own pace. I took Prof. Taylor in person, he does not make us by textbooks, but the course is based strictly on ALEKS. Working at your own pace with just a couple papers in between. He is very good at explaining 1 on 1, and cares about improvement to your grade in his class.
I absolutely recommend this instructor. Lectures move quickly, but he's ultra-patient and always has time to stop and clarify a topic. He's laid back and never makes anyone feel uncomfortable about asking questions. Class was primarily graded on tests, but he is more than fair in his grading and his questions are never tricky.
best teacher hands down , this is my first time leaving a rate my professor review but I relay so heavily on them so its only right to leave my feedback, gives you an opportunity to make up things, very understanding , and has great communication. id take his class over and over , i kno theres someone looking for this comment, but "no HL" ifykyk
You will use PEARSON MYLAB, HW is manageable, Prof Taylor is quick to reply with support, T-84 needed but he provides a $6 mobile alternative. Tests are weighted heavy so do good on those! Attend and watch his online reviews and you will do fine, finished with a 94%. Spent about 3 hours per week on the class.
Took mathematical thinking fully online. Uses alecks. This is by far the easiest math class i have ever taken. I was surprised that alecks made it so easy to undrrstand. He includes discussions where you apply math to the real world. Clear grading criteria.
