Mr. Baldwin is a great History teacher and makes the class interesting to come to. He does require 4 essays and two multiple choice tests. Essays are usually 4-6 pages double spaced. He's easy to take notes from because he uses outlines. You'll need notes
Baldwin's clear on what he expects from students. He stays away from bringing his opinions on current events in lectures and is very focused. I also had 4 essays and two multiple choice tests.
Baldwin isn't too difficult, but I felt like I actually learned from his lectures. He's not boring, funny, and classes are easy. He expects some essays and multiple choice tests, but overall, he isn't hard.
professor baldwin is a great teacher. no homework but alot of lecture notes. i learned alot of things that i should have already known. good techer
Mr. Balwin was an easy teacher. he's very nice and can be pretty funny. his assignments are clear. he doesnt assign alot either. i enjoyed his class.
Excellent teacher. He really knows his stuff. His lectures are information-filled and he brings humor to them, allowing most of his students to pay attention. My advice: take as many notes as possible to supplement your essays.
Prof. Baldwin is an awesome teacher. His lectures cover exactly what will be on the test and he does his best to make the topic interesting. I plan on taking as many of my GE classes from him as possible.

Baldwin tries so hard to make class interesting. He's also really cool, I got into a car accident on finals day, showed up 1 & 1/2 hours late and he still let me take the final completely, stayed after time was up.
His in-class dry humor is so great, it adds humor when the topic starts getting dull. Also, his tests are super easy and the papers are as simple as humanly possible. Pay attention and you'll come out with an A no sweat.
Professor Baldwin was an excellent teacher. I learned so much in his class. He doesn't demand attendance, but taking good notes is essential. I am taking his class again for 1102
He's simply awesome. I highly recommend him.
Simply Awesome.
His class for the most part is easy. Unfortunately I thought it was too easy and slacked off too much and ended up failing it (I didn't do the 2 papers for the books we read). Don't make the same mistake!
I took Baldwin for 1101 and 1102. Awesome teacher, cool guy. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you really need to go the lectures if you want to pass, or at least get involved in a notes exchange. Midterm and Final involving m.c., essay on lecture, and essay on a book. Literature is interesting. Good class to take. Easy A
FUNNY AND EDUCATIONAL TEACHER. DON'T MISS CLASS. YOU'LL MISS HIS JOKES, AND HIS GREAT LECTURES
Awesome history teacher. No homework at all, only one midterm and one final. Both of which are part take home and he gives you plenty of time to do them, but don't waste that time! He makes history interesting. The very first time i LOVED going to class, let alone History!
GREAT TEACHER ! I promise that History wont be boring once you enroll in his class . He gives yu good laughs during lecture as well and gives a great amount of time to do the mid term and final !
Never a dull moment in this class. Make sure you read the books, and turn in the essays on the DAY OF the final. that wasn't clear to me, and I ended up turning in the first essay a weekend after we took the midterm. He's an understanding guy, talk to him after class if you have any holes in your notes.
Loved his class! Highly recommended! Very funny and made class fun and interesting. I would take him again if I get the chance!
He's incredibly funny and makes class fun! (Even at 8 AM) This is a full on lecture class in which your grade depends entirely on your midterm and final.
Would definitely take his class again! Attendance isn't mandatory but you should attend. Take notes, pay attention, study, & do the essays & you'll get an easy A. He also gives you answers to some of the questions on the exam. 1 Midterm, 1 Final. Two essays for each exam [book&lecture essay]. ESSAYS are easy if you start early & take notes!
Mr. Baldwin is a greater professor. He has a great sense of humor. Would most definitely take his class again. I'd advise for people to take his history class. Class attendance is important because he does verbal lectures and a small amount that is done over the over head. But overall i give this teacher a A
He was a great teacher, and answered any questions people had. He got repetitive but that was due to him answering questions that were just answered. A very kind teacher who is willing to help if you need it.
Nice guy, pretty funny. Tests are mostly based on lectures, although attendance is not mandatory. One midterm and a final, a scantron portion in class and a take-home essay part. Take good notes, he lectures lots of details but he is only looking for big picture ideas on the tests. Easy grader if you put in effort.
Makes history relevant and interesting. He's funny and engaging. 5 of of 5 stars--Baldwin rocks! Attend class if you want an A on the exams (and to understand the material)!
great teacher, makes class fun!!
Baldwin always finds ways to entertain the class with his humor. If you take his class, make sure you come and take notes or get notes from a reliable person. His tests are completely based off the notes. Book is useless!!!!
History? You might think it is boring, but I strongly encourage you to take it with Dr. Baldwin! He is amazing! He would not bore you in class. He makes up his own jokes that are really funny. :D Go to his office hours and he will surely help you! Just prepare your questions. 2 exams + 3 essays! He is not a hard grader. His exams are easy! :))
Prof. Baldwin is considered one of the best professors in CSUEB. Very helpful and make history worth it to lecture and prepare humor at the same time. I hope you recommend his class as long you have devotion to history.
It was an interesting class. The material were taught well organized by Mr. Baldwin. He answers all questions even stupid ones. No need to main textbook. Just take good notes. My only complain is you have to do a lot of paper, even more than an English class.
Amazing Professor absolutely amazing I would recommend this Professor to everyone
No need to buy textbook. Professor provides in his lecture all you need to know about history and to pass the class. NOTE: You need to take and study your notes.
Hilarious! Really great teacher. No need for the textbook. he is extremely clear and precise and willing to help you out. Makes history interesting especially at 9 in the morning.
Great teacher, keeps the material interesting with a little humor. Don't need the main text book. Just show up and take good notes and you will do well on the tests. We also had to write three papers.
Great teacher! Makes dry stuff interesting and really knows his history! Take good notes and you'll do fine.
Awesome professor! I would definitely recommend taking him for your history class. His guidelines for the class are very straightforward and as long as you take notes and do the study guides you will do good on the tests.
Great professor the class is extremely straight forward. 3 papers, two tests one midterm and one final. Attendance not required, as long as you print out the study guides posted online and know all the answers you will be fine on the tests, books he assigns are easy reads.
DEFINTELY an easy A, just go to class and take notes on his lectures. he's a really funny guy too, lectures are pretty interesting. he doesnt assign any hw, just three easy essays based on the books and one midterm and one final. i totally recommend him.
I am not a fan of history but he really makes it interesting and i enjoyed the fact that he had a sense of humor. Take good notes, answer the questions as he goes along with the lectures and the tests will be a piece of cake! 3 essays, simple and straight forward.
Baldwin is amazing. Really makes history interesting. has clear expectations and gives you all the questions to the midterms and finals beforehand to study. pretty funny as well. i hated history but i loved this class!
Very good teacher! Take notes! he tells you everything you need for the midterm and final in his lecture notes, so there is no readig for that. There is a book for the paper you have to do for the midterm and the final, he will give you a paper as a portion of your test, but you get to do it at home ahead of time. Very easy class!
EASY A! He tells you EXACTLY what's on the Midterm/Final. Even gives the answers to specific questions. VERY high energy- hard to not pay attention! Makes class entertaining. Focuses on INTERESTING aspects of histor. Had a couple of easy papers based off biographical readings from books. I have taken him twice now!
Mr. Baldwin is one of the best history teachers I have ever had. For his class go to class every meeting take notes and study the review he gives you and you will get an A.
Baldwin is a great History teacher! The key to getting good grades is everything on the noted and the quantity on your book report. He's probably the only History teacher I've ever had that got me interested in this subject! If you were to pick a teacher, don't think about it, he's a great pick!
The class is easy if you go to class and take good notes. Throughout the course two essays are assigned (midterm & final). The essays are based on the book assigned. He tries to make the class interesting. Overall the class is interesting & he knows what he's talking about
Took Baldwin for 1101 and 1102. All lecture based exams and grades easy for the essays. All you need to do is write a page or two over what he asks and use tons of quotes. Take really good notes in class and you'll be fine!
Fantastic history professor! Lectures are well organized, informative & delivered in an entertaining way. Professor Baldwin's great sense of humor is a big bonus. Grading is straight forward. Midterm & Final are multiple choice. 3 assigned biographies, thoughtfully selected & enjoyable to read. Essays required for each. Take his class if you can!
Really good and incredibly funny. Provides a lot of info on what will be on the exams and how you should write your essays. He also provides an extra credit lecture essay at the end of the quarter. He will lecture most of the time, so prepare to write notes and read the books he assigns.
he is very funny but he talks very fast and it is hard to keep up with him! but i can tell he is an awesome person and has a sense of humor. His test is very difficult if u suck at taking notes! you have been warned!!!!
Also took him for 1102. Midterm and Final are based on lectures. Essays are based on books. Come to class often and take good notes, and you'll do just fine. He can be very comical with the lectures, but it's mostly just cheesy humor. He tries to make history interesting, but don't expect an easy A from his class.
This professor is awesome. He tests us based on lectures and there are two book essays. One for the midterm and one for the final. He doesn't give hw. He's even funny at times. Highly recommended!
Amazing Lecturer, knows his stuff and presents it well. Seems crazy at first, but if you just go with it it turns out to be a GREAT class and you will ACTUALLY learn with little effort. 3 book essays (Q/A format) take some time to do, but very straightforward. Multiple choice midterm and final, gives you study guides upfront and expectations clear.
Highly Recommend! Upbeat, never monotone, and even sort of funny. No homework. Only midterm and final. Final is not cumulative. Both have an easy, straight-out-of book essay portion. Start early! Longer essays with MORE QUOTES get better grades! Overall, come to EVERY class, take notes, study Review Sheets (On Black Board) and you should do fine!
Awesome professor! You don't need to purchase the book for the short essay questions. Instead, go to the library and rent one. Always attend class because his midterm and final exams are from his lectures.
Professor Baldwin is a GREAT instructor. If you attend lectures and take good notes, you'll do very well in his class. He talks a little fast, so you might want to record his lectures. His TESTS are from his LECTURES, so attendance is important. I definitely recommend him.
Great teacher. Simply attend the class, write your notes and you will pass the class.
This professor is helpful and nice. He tells you half the answers to the midterm and final in the lectures. The essays are easy too. The comments he makes during the lectures are kind of funny.
Very nice professor! He teaches students with his organized outline and wonderful lectures, but you have to attend class and take notes. It is very important to understand the historical events. He is highly recommended.
Great teacher. Baldwin is very professional in history.
So easy....Unless you don't know english
Very good teacher! make sure to go to class pay attention and take notes!
Great professor!!!!! Not too much work but a lot of notes and make sure you take notes. Essential for the final.
Professor Baldwin is honestly my most favorite professor. All you have to do is listen to his lectures (yes, that means come every day)and you'll do fine. That was honestly all I did. I never studied except relied on my memory of his lectures and got 100% He really makes history easy to learn and allows you to learn it in a very active environment
Easy class! Three book reports, that are 5 pages long each. You just need to skim through the books but he gives you all of the answers right when he assigns each book report. Easy grader of them too. I never studied because his exams are straight from his lectures. No hw besides the book reports and then a midterm and a final.
Great teacher, all tests are based off power-points, he teaches history in a story type of style so its interesting. Only thing is you should do your book report before the night off b/c it takes awhile to do but its really easy. Def would recommend taking history with him!
He makes this class so enjoyable! And he's super funny. Two book reports, a midterm and a final, and he's an easy grader. Write about 7 pages on your book report to get an A!
I am not a fan of history but he is a good teacher. He tries to capture your attention. However, do not rely on the notes that he writes on the board because his penmanship is hard to read. He also writes fairly sloppy. Oh and a heads up, if the location of this class says any room on MJ floor 2000, bring a jacket. It's always cold in MJ.
BEST HISTORY TEACHER EVER! THIS CLASS WAS FULL OF SO MANY INTERESTING FACTS, STORIES, AND HILARIOUS. PROFESSOR BALDWIN MADE THIS CLASS EASY AND FUN. CLASSES ARE NOT MANDATORY BY HIM BUT IF YOU EXPECT TO PASS THE CLASS, YOU NEED TO SHOW UP TO EVERY CLASS. OTHERWISE YOU WILL FREEZE ON THE TEST. LOVED LOVED LOVED HIS CLASS!
Roger Baldwin is an excellent instructor. He communicates the requirements for his class very clearly and makes the class as interesting as possible. I'd definitely take another class from him.
Very good teacher, keeps you interested in history. Easy work, 2 writing assignments and easy midterm and final
Awesome professor. Fantastic class. Keeps things way interesting and very supportive-- take his class!!
Two exams is what makes up your grade in this class. Attendance is mandatory if you want to pass because the exams are based on the lectures. His lecture is pretty interesting. Never boring and sometimes incorporates his own joke in there. There are two parts to each exam. One is in class multiple choice, the latter being take home essay.
Professor Baldwin is an excellent history teacher. He makes his class interesting, and students learn a lot. I've not heard one bad thing about him from classmates. He is on point, concise. Also, he is there for his students - so don't be afraid to ask questions, if you are unsure of things. Again, an excellent guy! I'll take him again if I could
He's hilarious and talkative in class! But when you see him in office hours, he's like a deer in headlights, very one-worded and dry sometimes. EASY GRADER! YOU WILL PASS if you do your midtermfinal!
He's hilarious. Just go to class and write down everything that he writes down on the board. He doesn't ask for specifics. I've taken him twice already. If you want a high grade on the essays for your midtermsfinals make them at least a couple of pages longer than he requires. He's hilarious and replies to emails. If you have a question, ask him.
Professor Baldwin is honestly one of my favorite at CSUEB. He is organized, clear, and funny. He makes History both FUN and INTERESTING to learn. He displays so much passion on this subject. Take him. I would definitely take him again!
ROGER BALDWIN one of my favorite professors, he'll crack funny jokes, but still stays on topic which is good. His handwriting can be a bit confusing, but if you pay attention to what he SAYS then you will get it. Answer the questions from his Study questions because they will be on the midtermfinal. You also have to do 2 essays, for the exams.
Best professor ever! I really enjoyed going to his class. If you attend his lectures and pay attention you'll definitely pass with an A. He is not a tough grader. But be aware that he doesn't curve. However, the tests are really fair so there is no need to curve the tests. He is very funny and he was always excited to teach! Take Baldwin!
I took Professor Baldwin for history of the U.S. since 1877 and it was my favorite class and professor at Eastbay. He made the class so enjoyable, his lectures are hilarious. He basically tells you what will be on the midterm and final, and gives you all the answers! I got an A in the class and it wasn't too difficult. Just show up to class.
I loved this class. So easy to grasp.
he is straighforward and a good teacher. attendance is mandatory for lectures and needed to pass. pretty funny guy but takes interruptions pretty seriously
Yes, I am a history major, but aside from my natural desire to learn more this is the best history teacher I have found so far. Do not be worried that the class is lecture based, he writes along on a chalkboard for you to copy. Only grade is midterm and final, so study well and read the books!
Although the class is long and it is a boring topic, Professor Baldwin always manages to throw in a joke or make the material more interesting for us. There is only 1 midterm and then the final and part of both is a take-home essay. Straight forward and you can work on the essays with friends! History is not my best subject but this class is cool!
Rodger is so funny! He is the best! You'll want to go to lectures even though they are not mandatory. Midterm and Final are 30 multiple choice question. 2 long papers (make them as long as you can) plus extra credit if you need it. Its history so its common sense. He is really nice ... would take again and an easy A! (need textbook for final paper)
Prof. Baldwin is one of the funniest teachers I have had. Yeah, the lectures are long and can get boring but Baldwin makes the class fun with his sense of humor. In the beginning of each class he does a recap of the last class which is extremely helpful. 2 Essays and 2 multiple choice tests (midterm and final). Super easy as long as you show up.
Taking Professor Baldwin's classes back to back was an absolute dream. Not only does it quickly take care of the GE U.S. History requirement, but you have fun too. Expect two papers (both a minimum of five pages in length, just write chronologically) and either attend or have someone take notes for you.
Honestly if you can take his class, take it! Had him for history 1101 and 1102 and it is worth the 8am class. His lectures are definitely fun and interesting. 1 midterm, and 1 final, with 2 questions and response essays. Essays are 5 pages min but its honestly so easy! Go to class, take notes, fill out study guide and the tests will be super easy.
He is a great teacher and would recommend him. Loved the way he made his test. They were exactly like the study guide. Also, the essays are easy because he tells you exactly where to find the information.
He is a fantastic professor. His tests are really clear and essays are easy as well. Tests are solely based on the lectures so if you attend lectures everyday then you will pass the tests!
LOVE this class. Professor Baldwin is very funny and interesting. I would definitely take him again. Exams are easy if you've been listening to the lectures and the papers are easy because it's basically question and answer format.
Take this Professor if you can. The class is super easy but very lecture heavy. Lectures are fun and interesting. You can learn a whole lot. Everything you need to know for the test comes from your notes. So make sure to take good notes and make friends if you plan on missing some classes. 2 essays. Start writing them early. Fun and easy class.
Professor Baldwin is amazing! Taking him in the morning is worth it because he's full of energy and that helps you stay awake. Two tests and two book essays due on the days of the tests. Attendance isn't mandatory but make sure you get the notes if you miss class! Answer the study questions for the test and do your essays and you should be fine!
Professor Baldwin makes history so interesting! His lectures are lively, he encourages participation, and his outline notes are easy to follow. I got an easy A in the class, there's only a midterm, a final, and a paper that goes with both. The questions on the midterm/final are easy, just show up and take notes on his outlines. Great professor!
This professor is great! I enjoyed his class and like how even though it's big he remembers your name when participating in class.
Come to each class because on the following class day, he will go over study questions that he prepared so you get the chance of writing down the answers. His midterm & final are based on the study questions & it's only 30 multiple choice questions. You have two 6 page papers to complete, but they're fairly easy. He gave an extra credit essay too.
Professor Baldwin is the man, super funny and he is very passionate about history! Come to lectures and take the notes he puts on the board. He goes over the study questions before each class after a lecture. 2 papers and youll get a good laugh each class. 100% would take again
Took him for both History 1101 & 1102, he is a great professor who is very passionate about the subject and wants to see his students pass. His lectures are long, but they are interesting and very funny. Midterm and Final consist of a take-home paper and in-class test which are very easy. If you show up and take half decent notes, you'll pass.
He is such a great professor and lectuer, He makes the class really interesting and easy to catch up to. You need to come to every class in order to pass the midterm and the final! It is an easy A and the essay is super easy. I would 100% recommend him!!
I have him for HIST 111 (US history from 1877 onward). Roger is the best. He makes it so easy to pass that you have to really try to fail. If you show up, engage, and take good notes, you're set. There's two essays and 3 tests, but the essays are entirely summary and require no analysis, and the tests are 20 questions mult choice and are super easy
He is an amazing professor and writes down stuff you need to know for the test but the test is isnt exactly the same as the thing he write down on the board because he rewords the question and challenges you but overall he is an amazing professor. He is also gives extra credits essay to boost your test grade and 2 papers required for the semester.
His classes are amazing! It is very clear as too what will be on the exams. You must attend all classes because he does not post the notes that he has went over but when you are in class he tells you exactly what will be on the exams. Amazing teacher and makes lectures actually interesting! Would most definitely recommend.
He is an amazing professor and writes down stuff you need to know for the test but the test is isnt exactly the same as the thing he write down on the board because he rewords the question and challenges you but overall he is an amazing professor. He also gives extra credits essay to boost your test grade and 2 papers required for the semester.
The best professor that I've ever had!!! Clearly has a passion for history and is really funny. Grades are based on two essays, two midterms, and a final. Other than that, there's no weekly homework. No need to remember dates, just the things he writes on the board. If you don't pass this class, then you're just lazy. He even offers extra credit.
Dr. Baldwin is the best professor I've ever had! He is hilarious and his lectures are awesome. I love coming to class. Attendance isn't mandatory but you have to go to take notes. Exams are super easy if you study. There are 3 exams and 2 book essays. He also lets you do up to 3 essays for extra credit. I'd take him again in a heartbeat!
Baldwin was truly a gem to have as a professor for my History class. With so much information being presented, he really knows how to explain it in concise detail. A great storyteller for History. I would take his class again if the opportunity was presented to me. Not a difficult class really.
Roger Baldwin was easily one of my favorite professors at East Bay so far. His class is manageable and material isn't hard, but listening and actively taking notes in class is the only way that you'll be able to earn an A. He offers extra credit essays, which is basically just typing out your notes into essay format and he gives you points for it.
JUST ENROLL IN THE CLASS ALREADY, STOP READING AND ENROLL NOW. Hopefully now you're enrolled in Roger Baldwin class now. Know that his test and midterm are based off lecture notes and he gives you a study guide on blackboard on the 1st day which is literally all the exams. You also gotta write two 8 page essay for books that cost $50 each.. oh well
Dr. Balwin is the absolute best! I took him twice because he is just so amazing. He's funny, interesting, and very knowledgeable. Attendance isn't mandatory but you have to come to class because the exams are only on the notes you take. There are 3 exams and 2 book essays. Put in the effort and you'll easily get an A!
Just enroll with him already! Really easy, 2 papers, 2 midterms, 1 final, a couple of EC papers. Attend lectures because tests are based on lectures and make sure to stay organized. tests are easy if you study all your lecture outlines. very upbeat personality and he tries to learn everyone's names. There's really no reason for you not to get an A.
His class was one of the easiest I've ever taken. If you show up, pay attention, & take notes you should pass the class. The whole semester consists of 3 twenty question exams. If you do poorly on the exams you can make it up by doing extra credit papers.
Professor Baldwin is such an amazing professor. Attendance is not mandatory but I highly recommend going since everything that's on the midterm he lectures in class. we had to read two books on our own and write a paper on them. Super easy! Just don't procrastinate since what you get on those two essays and on the 3 exams is what makes your grade.
Prof Baldwin is a very good US history professor. Unlike other professors, he pretty much tells you what you need to know and is pretty funny with his witty commentary. Three tests and two papers but he tells you the answers outright if you attend class. Very straight forward and a very easy A.
By far one of my favorite professors. He has a good sense of humor and his lectures are really interesting. All his work is pretty self explanatory.
This class was super easy. A few essays that are question and answer format. In addition, just study his lecture notes and you will get a great grade on his tests. He is a nice person and funny at times. Just go to class and you will do great.
Dr. Baldwin is low key HILARIOUS. Great, theatrical lecturer. Can be intimidating. Tests are hard and so are the essays but pay attention, show up to class, and you will be just fine. Lecture heavy but he curves the grades and offers multiple extra credit. Start your essays early and DO NOT PROCRASTINATE if you want an A because they are extensive!
This guy is great. Kinda goofy, lighthearted, just nice to listen to. Personally I would just binge his lectures at 1.75x speed near midterm and final, because that worked best for me, and honestly I was genuinely bummed when I ran out of lectures to listen to.
Class was asynchronous and material super easy to follow. He posted lecture outlines and study guides long before the exams. The exams were not cumulative. Although you didnt need a book for the lectures, there were two required readings (Library) with essays. You could get help with the questions for the essays beforehand. Super chill Professor.
Easy asynchronous class! Professor Baldwin posts two lectures a week as well as lecture outlines and sometimes lecture notes. There were 2 book essays that were straightforward (no intro or conclusion), 2 midterm exams, 1 final exam, and 3 extra credit essays that really help give your grade a boost. Do the study questions! Easy A, just do the work
Literally if you watch his lectures and do his study guides you will pass his class. If you don't pass then that's a you problem lol. His questions come from his lectures so I'd say watch them. He does make you do two essays but if you read the sections from the books you're good. He also offers extra credit but be prepared to write if you do them.
Professor Baldwin is a real gem. His lectures are hilarious, yet very informative. I just binge watched all of his lectures! His three exams are all open notes and there are two essays assigned. Easy and super enjoyable class with no BS. I'd take him again in a heartbeat!
Clear grading and outline of the material: 2 papers, 2 exams, 2 extra credit opportunities. I was very busy with work and he was flexible and understanding when I had to turn in a paper late. Exams are based out of his lecture notes and the questions (he will go over them). He cares and wants students to succeed! DEF RECOMMEND!
Prof. Baldwin will put up on the recorded lectures the answers to the study exam questions so all you have to do is type em out and study. 2 book essays that are not that tough because he tells you where to find the answer to each question in the book. Gives you 3 extra credit, where it will add 2points to the overall grade which helps alot. Great!
Every lecture was one to look forward to. He always understood late work and treated everyone with respect. His content was well delivered, very informative with a pinch of humor. He would make the environment one that was fun and educational. He put so much care and effort into each lecture. There are plenty of chances for extra credit as well.
He's probably the best lecturer i've ever had. His tests are literally the same exact study questions he gives you and he gives sheet of paper of notes every test. If you fail, it's literally all on you. He also gives extra credit assignments. Quite literally imposible for you to fail.
You have to try really hard to fail this clas
There are two essays throughout the whole semester, but you are given an outline to do it, so it is pretty easy. Just show up to class, since everything is based on the lectures. The information itself it easy to learn. Overall, such a great professor. As the other comments say, you really have to try to fail.
Professor Baldwin was a great professor. History lectures are usually boring but he makes you interested. He actually cares for his students grades and is very understanding. You do 2 essays and 3 exams but it's all easy. Easy grader and the only way to fail his class is if you don't do anything. Good professor overall!
Funny and energized, kept my 9:30 class fun. Only grades 3 exams and 2 essays which are both pretty easy. Just take notes (which is pretty easy as you can copy word for word what he writes) and don't forget that you have to do a book report since it isn't talked about in class but as long as you stay on top of that and go to every class you good.
The professor was great. His lectures were very clear. If you take good notes in class, his exams will be pretty easy. He was always very enthusiastic about teaching and was easy to reach out to. I would recommend taking his class. You will enjoy it!
Great lectures, clear and concise lectures for notes. Clear and concise study guide for finals and midterms. Has his own way of teaching but it works! Attendance isn't mandatory but there is credit that goes into attending class and answering questions. Great teacher, I recommend taking him once at least!
No homework and only assigned 2 book essays which were easy, and he doesn't take attendance. He's the best! I would take him again for a different history class.
Professor Baldwin is awesome! His class is very well organized. He handwrites his lecture notes alongside the students and makes it very easy to follow. Tests were straight forward and directly from the lecture notes, no trick questions. His hand writing is a little bizarre but his humor makes up for it. Highly recommend taking his class
He wants you to pass and learn even with the slightest bit of effort. Gives opportunity for extra credit every lecture, while reviewing the notes from the previous class briefly yet effectively. He is also very flexible and understanding of school, life, and work balance so his due dates are generously flexible. Wish every professor was like this.
One of the best professors in my opinion. He only takes attendance on the first class and while attendance isn't mandatory, I'd highly recommend attending his lectures since he gives out pretty much all the answers to his tests during them. No HW assigned either, just 2 book essays and a few tests
Baldwin has gotta be the best history professor I have ever encountered. An easy going, professional and cool guy. His lectures where crystal clear and always had a positive attitude in class. May he continue to inspire students everyday. YOU ROCK ROGER
Best professor ever, his lectures aren't heavy he makes it fun and is always cracking jokes, you've got 3 exams and 2 book essays and he gives 3 xtra cred essay options if needed, he really wants everyone to pass but won't ding you for missing class, i thoroughly enjoyed his class and learned a lot. Go to class and take notes=pass, take his class!!
Literally the only way to fail this class is if you don't do anything. Baldwin is seriously one of the BEST profs out there! He gives amazing lectures and the only things that are graded are the 3 tests and the 2 essays (all are very easy). Attendance is not graded but I promise you won't regret attending!
One of the most easiest professors I ever had so far. During class, all you have to do is show up, answer questions based on the written notes from previous class, listen to lecture, take notes on what professor is writing and you're good to go. Luckily, you're able to use 1 page of those notes during exams. There are no assignments just 2 essays.
Best prof ever, lectures aren't heavy and he's always cracking jokes, assignments for the semester are 3 exams and 2 book essays, and 3 xtra cred essay options if needed. I thoroughly enjoyed his class and felt like i learned a lot! You won't get marked for not coming but go to class+take notes= pass. Take his class if you can he's amazing!!
Prof. Roger's lectures are straightforward and easy to understand, and he cracks many jokes to keep students engaged and alert. He's very understanding if you miss class for any reason and is willing to share his notes. The only downside is that his written notes on the board are somewhat illegible, but you can always just ask him what he wrote.
I already love history but Baldwin made it even more enjoyable. As long as you take notes you pass. Only negative thing about him is his handwriting. Attendance isn't needed but he made me want to attend. He doesn't sugar coat anything and teaches the whole lesson how it is. He cracks jokes and I would laugh out loud if the class wasn't so quiet.
Professor Baldwin is seriously amazing! His class is super easy if you just show up and take notes on what he is writing on the board. He allows 1 page of notes for each of 3 multiple choice tests as well as giving study guides. There are also 2 essays, but overall the class is a breeze. He is also very responsive to emails and really cares!
Professor Baldwin was a very outstanding professor and cared for his students to pass his class. He offered many extra credit opportunities which alot of professors don't do. The only thing was that his exam questions were a bit off. Overall, a great class.
Baldwin was hilarious. This class is super straightforward and he made it really fun. I would highly recommend and if you need any accommodations He is very easy to reach. Just make sure to take notes and follow along because he does talk really fast but all of his lecture outlines/questions are on Canvas.
Professor Baldwin is one of the best professors I've had so far. He offers many options for extra credit, his lectures are interesting and it's clear from day 1 what he expects you to do. He is very understanding of late submissions. He doesn't take attendance but the exams are from the lecture notes so you'd want to be there.
Baldwin's HIST110 class is a breeze. With clear lectures, easy assignments, and helpful study tools like unstuck ai, this is a great option for any student looking to fulfill a history requirement.
The professor is so kind and funny. Make sure to pay attention to lectures and most content is on the exam. Essays can be quite reading heavy but fairly easy directions. Would highly recommend to any students needing to take this class. He is a great professor!
lecture notes are done in class, but can ask someone for them and the exams follow the notes. very easy to communicate well and is understanding if something personal comes up.
He is very passionate about history and has awesome lectures. You can ask questions, and he takes time to explain things. He gives extra time if you need it on essays, and there are extra credit opportunities. The exams are open notes (you can have one sheet of paper) and use them on the exams, which are all based on what is said in the lectures.
great and passionate professor! lecture heavy but easy contents to absorb. 2 manditory essays but they're easy and 3 tests also easy. just attend lectures for notes and thats it! hes also a funny guy
Professor Baldwin was amazing! I would love to take another class of his. Great lectures, easy to understand. Very understanding and gave extra credit opportunities. Some essay writing, but no homework. Show up to class to take notes, but it's very easy. He makes complicated concepts very digestible. I recommend this class to anyone needing it.
Amazing professor. Superb. Magnificent lecture flow, very easy to listen and understand. No homework, just short 20 question midterm/exams and two essays. As long as you are present at his lectures, the class will be very easy. Such a great and slayful professor. Would most definitely recommend.
Very caring and LOTS of extra credit. extremely flexible. has study guides that are close to exams. lectures can get a little boring but straightforward/easy to follow. Simple class, and he answers emails. No assignments, just essays that don't have to take long if you just do it. Very much worth taking the class to fulfill history requirements.
Professor Baldwin is very caring and understanding. The class is lecture heavy but straight forward he talks a lot but clearly tells you that the only important information is what he writes on the board. There is three tests and two essays. But after each exam except for the final ofc he offers extra credit in order to bring up test grade.
Great professor for a GE. 3 tests, 2 essays, provides ample extra credit in case of bad exam scores. You really shouldn't worry about this class. Allows cheat sheet, though I never needed it, since I memorized the material, history is my thing, and the exam questions aren't complicated, and are from lectures (take notes). Bullet point-based lecture
Lectures are very easy to follow. Lectures feel as if he's directly having a conversation with his students about the subjects he covers which makes them very interesting. His extra credit essays, book essays, and exams are all based on his lectures and the notes that you take during lectures, so although attendance isn't mandatory it's important.
I LOVED THIS CLASS! Professor Baldwin is a GOAT, and I hardly ever found myself bored in his class. The pace was super fun, and fun jokes at appropriate times! Super easy to talk to, he's a very nice guy. Just write down what he says and you'll be just fine. I highly recommend his class to anyone who needs/wants to take a world history class! 11/10
I love Professor Roger Baldwin!!! He is super passionate with his lectures and once he gets into it HE GETS INTO IT!! Always accommodating if your grades aren't the best with extra credit work and he is honestly a hilarious and caring professor. He is making it not hard for you, just put in your work and you will be set :)
He's literally the best professor ever!! He genuinely cares about his students, the lectures are easy to follow, and he offers extra credit for every exam. He is truly THE best!!! I wish I had him for every class.
Professor Baldwin is one of the best professors I have ever had. His classes are lecture heavy but if you pay attention to the lectures and take notes you will pas easily. He is also extremely attentive to his students and his work. He clearly enjoys his job and makes class more enjoyable. One of the best classes I have ever taken!
Prof. Baldwin is a funny professor who enjoys teaching his students. Lectures are relatively easy if you pay attention and show up (highly recommended) as attendance isn't mandatory. Easy to fall behind if you skip lectures. Try your best to decipher his handwriting + make cheat sheets and start the book essays early! ^^
I loved this professor!!!!! Really cares about the students and wants you to succeed. This class is really lecture-heavy, but as long as you show up and take notes, you will pass easily. Gives extra credit and no homework :)
Prof Baldwin was great! He is funny and passionate. Only 3 exams and two easy papers. Plenty of extra credit. The work is easy just show up to class and take notes. If you love taking notes you'll love this class but he also gives the exam answers ahead of time just write them down. I really enjoyed his class and would totally take again.
The best professor ever. His lectures are actually super engaging and fun. He offers a lot of extra credit which he practically gives all the answers too. He isn't strict on essay deadlines and lets you turn anything in anytime as long as you get it in and communicate. Super easy class. Just show up and take notes and you will pass with an A.
Professor Baldwin is AMAZING. I took his course almost a year ago and realized I never came back to rate him. If I could give him a better rating he would deserve it. I truly learned so much from him. The best! Please take his class!
The class consists of weekly lectures, 3 exams, and 2 papers. The papers are read and respond to questions based on chapters from specified books. The exams are all about the lectures, and you're allowed a cheat sheet. He also offers extra credit. Overall, his lectures are amazing and organized! He's also a funny and caring professor!
I LOVE ROGER!! He is an amazing and passionate lecturer; he's the type to make you rethink the major you've chosen. Its lecture heavy but if you just write exactly what he does on the board, you'll have everything you need to succeed. The exams are 21, multiple choice questions, he gives lots of extra credit, and there are 2 book essays.
