He's a nice guy. Has a lot of energy when he lectures. He's new so he's still a little rusty when it comes to teaching young students, but he tries. He's a pretty easy marker too! Kinda goes topic a lot tho and gets carried away lol

Probably the best class I had so far in George Brown. Great teacher. Would have liked to see more of a parallel between class work and the tests / exams. He is a tough marker, albeit fair. What makes this teacher great is his energy and enthusiasm. He seems to be a master of his trade and I hope to have him again for another course!

Best HR teacher and one of the best professors at George Brown. One of the classes that wasn't a complete waste of a day. He was funny, witty, and extremely knowledgeable about his trade. Would recommend him for sure! Can't say the same about any other HR teacher!

Roger, that is what he wants you to call him. Just one thing that gets you connected to him. If you want to hide, do not take his class. He has a way of getting everyone involved. Definately a learning. At first it is difficult, but by the end of the course, he has everyone engaged. Truly knows his stuff. I have seen it, cannot be stumped.

Roger is a great professor. Even though I do not like HR, I really enjoyed his class. He keeps the class interesting and is very knowledgeable and gives great examples. One thing to be aware of is that he is not an easy grader. He is very fair and you will achieve great results if you attend his class regularly and pay attention.

One of the best lecturers on campus. Roger makes HR engaging and interesting, and you can tell that he has a lot of experience in the field. The course has a mix of participation, small and large assignments, a group project as well as tests, so there are a lot of ways to get marks.

Roger promises breakthroughs in this course, at first I thought, "Yeah, right!" I graded a 5 on difficulty, cause if you want to see something great about yourself, it is difficult work. He is very lively in his lectures. He wants you to speak up and ask questions. His tests are multiple choice with a few short answers. It is based on a lot of chapter definitions, and a few charts he shows in lecture. He posts his slides on blackboard. Pick a strong group for the group assignment.

Contrary to the comment below, from someone who does not understand coaching, Roger does have one-on-one, real and authentic conversations with students and gets to the heart of learning. Roger magnificently displayed competence in controlling my perceptions and reactions to life and convinced me he was a capable coach. Roger is the best teacher of GBC. The way he teaches is amazing. Everybody participates of the class, he makes students really think and analyze, and not just know concepts that will be forgotten in a month. His classes were always very dynamic and motivational. I wish I could have him as a teacher for other subjects.

The topics discussed are different from other classes. This course provides students with the opportunity to apply concepts and theories to real-life scenarios to develop your skills and competencies. I think it is one of the few that provide an opportunity to develop personally and professionally to reach any future goals.

I have never met a professor or teacher who truly wants you to succeed. In fact, he will provide ample support for your success. What is interesting is at the end of the semester you reflect back on how great of a coach he is. He practices what he teaches. Only warning is this prof has no tolerance for those who just want to get by.

Most enjoyable class I have taken at George Brown. This class was presented in a clear manner, and allowed us to use the "boring, textbook information" in practical applications. Respected and caring Professor, his lectures are a lot though and I think he needs to make his lectures much more simpler and easy to interpret. Ghum 1087 was the most inspirational courses and I loved the way Roger teaches us about hard subjects that make us think and write a lot. He is funny and gives examples of his own life, he is always ready for a nice conversation after class. We always have homework and if we want high grades, always show the concepts linking to our own opinion!

He is real, raw, gritty, fair, gracious and brilliant. Hard hitting, right to the point, pulls no punches and it is only because he cares about coaching, performance management, leading and getting the best out of people. Scarry if you are shy, yet worth it for sure. I am shy, and I'd do it again any time.

By far the most inspirational class I took over 4 semesters. It was a great experience and the professor made all that happen. From the first to last, all classes were all very consistent, he provided everything he promised, word for word.

Roger Cecchetto is an exceptional instructor. He clearly is passionate about Human Resources and is an excellent instructor on the subject matter. Schools out due to Covid-19. They are taking about on-line classes. This would be a shame for a prof like Roger. This guy knows life, work, coaching, motivation and leadership. He is a must see live. Up close and personal. He brings concepts to life in a way I have never experienced before. Every class is an instructional, interactive performance.

If you have to take an 8 a.m. class then take his. His personality & teaching methods will keep you awake and interested. He's humorous & really passionate. He swears sometimes if you mind that, but never at students. He will make students participate by calling out names randomly to answer, but even if you're shy I still highly recommend.

Just noticed one of my classmates last rating. Unfortunately they need the course, are missing the message and are incorrect. Hope they are not in my group. GREAT PROFESSOR, WILL TAKE AGAIN. We were given 2 assignments, both due on different dates and have 10 weeks to complete. He continually coaches/support. Lectures are real and relevant.

I was just referring a friend to sign up for Roger's coaching class as he is awesome. I also noticed a post (below) from one of my classmates. Pretty certain they are missing the point of his great lectures, coaching and definitely his style. Roger knows how to relate even on-line. Just got a text on how this great prof is being slammed by one of our classmates. I just have to say that Roger takes simple topics like listening, empathy, questioning and trust and elevates them to a powerful (that what he says) level. Really makes you think. I always am left thinking about his lectures days later. Take this prof if you can.

I have had Roger on-line in this class and in-person for HRM1008. Although he is much better in person, he has transitioned well to on-line learning. I have also signed up in another class with him next semester. He knows his material, lots of experience, respects his students and is fun.

Hated the on-line lectures, yet loved this prof. He knows his stuff and explains difficult concepts like philosophy and psychology in real life every day terms. Ya I had to do all the memorizing work, and he made the learning fun (never said that). He answers questions and supports you all the way through email and in-lectures. I'll take him again.

Roger is a really great professor and he gives really interesting lectures. Course content is easy to grasp and his assignments and tests aren't super difficult if you pay attention. Only downside, the course itself can be frustrating as it has a lot of group work and if you're put in a "bad" group you are stuck with them for the whole semester.

Great guy on-line. Love how he has some fun with the material. Every time I send an email or ask a question, her quickly responds with great advice. He is straight as well. If you are late, expect a penalty. Makes it fair for those do the work on time.

Roger is a great person. This week we had some technical issues on BlackBoard during an exam. Although most of us were in panic mood, Roger was always available and supportive. He sent us constant updated and inspirational notes. His ability to remain calm made me feel like things were going to be all right.

Classes were online due to the pandemic which was not ideal but it was really the only lecture I looked forward to.. even on a Friday afternoon. What a great semester. Knows his stuff, cares about students. I had a few concerns and personal issues over this semester and he was always willing to listen and helps. He is fair and has a ton on integrity ensuring everyone is treated ethically. Get a chance to take him; do so, for what ever course.

Roger respects his students, and takes us out of our comfort zone but makes us feel safe by listening to us and being empathetic. I really appreciate it when a professor treats his students like adults and equal to them as opposed to treating us as children. Roger is a fantastic professor, always full of energy and willing to give examples and go beyond to convey the information. His lectures are funny and insightful even on a Friday afternoon. Miss him already.

The HRM course was also one of my favorite course of this semester. The teachers technics were excellent. The teacher was able to establish a good environment learning. I strongly recommend Professor Cecchetto to anyone who wants to take Fundamentals of HR Management next semester.

Roger, but no doubt has he been by far the best teacher Ive had in in all my years in school. I think with a successful student comes a great teacher, and with everything learned I feel prepared.

This was an on-line course, yet Roger still ran weekly check-ins to go over highlights of each chapter and support any questions or concerns. Roger is a fantastic professor, always full of energy, provide great HR examples and go beyond to convey the information.

I think Professor Cecchetto is a very nice understanding professor. He is willing to help to his students and he makes things very clear. I feel like in this course we learned so much about it and the course work assignments and exams were very helpful to understand it well.

Prof. Roger Cecchetto is an Amazing professor and the level of his teaching is absolutely fantastic. I like the way he teaches us in the online class and the method of his strategy during discussion to make the student engage and participate is really wonderful. He teaches and give advice to his students and I will definitely take him again.

This professor takes the content of this program and makes it inspirational. It's about leadership, life and being a great human being. Every lesson he hits a deep level of what we should be all about. Funny, he calls it his rant. And a good one it always is.

Knows a lot about business and HR. Tells great real life stories which demonstrates the theories and concepts in actual business situations. Also, has a great sense of humour. Will take again if I can.

He keeps his word. Says he'll help you succeed, mark papers in a week, make the theories come to life in real stories, give you a penalty if you make a late submission, and he'd does. You can count on this prof if you want to learn and pass.

A professor who teaches you while also making you enjoy the classes. One of the best professor I know. His class discussion makes you think about life and his assignments make you understand the concept more.

This prof is amazing at looking ways to help you become a better person. Boots your coaching abilities and enjoyed it. Make sure you attend each lectures and participate as marks are given that way and overall, he's not a bad prof, but a good one

Great professor. Great lectures, thought provoking and funny. He talks about authenticity. And he is authentic.

Probably one of the best professors I have ever met. Only know him on-line, but maybe one of the best people I've met. Knowledgable, understanding, straight and funny.

So, this was just our first class. Not sure if I can come back and rate him again later. One of the best online discussions/lectures I have ever had even live and in class. He just listens, to the students (deeply to all questions), and himself. In fact, he is very funny as he makes a mistake on a word, a phrase, an idea and laughs at himself.

I am saddened that this course comes to an end this week. Every Friday morning I looked forward to the conversations Roger would have with us. The way he involved us, especially on-line and how he made the course material come to life. I am certain there will be times in my future when his words will haunt my behavoiurs. Stay powerful.

We just meet Roger today for T&D. One of the most riviting and entertaining and valuable lectures I have ever seen. It was also scarry as he wanted us to present on stage. But he was so kind and helpful to the students who spoke. We left early becasue of fire alarm. And I cannot wait until next week.

Today we talked about customer service, and every lecture is action packed. He is really a great speaker and professor, but today was the first time I wanted him to be my boss. The way he takes about business gets you motivated to work hard. Fantastic prof, yet I cannot imagine how great of a boss he would be. To have someone inspire you every day!

Best course I've taken (as a post-grad). Material relevant and informative. The topper was having it delivered by someone who's knowledgeable, experienced, many real life examples and the most caring of professors/person I have come to know. He is authentic and real and has integrity. Holds all accountable to their 'power' (that what he call it).

Roger is a good professor. He explains all concepts thoroughly and makes it as simple as possible for the students to understand. But, in terms of grading, he is a perfectionist, so he would really dig deep on the flaws of your paper or essays, etc.

Roger was inspirational. Tons of experience. Relatable, funny and thought provoking tales. Fair and straight. Respects students. I will take him again anytime, any course.

Roger, with lots of experience in facilitation is demonstrated in how he delivers the material. Although nervous, I love how it calls on students to volunteer and gets them to do amazing things in the learning process. Truly someone who cares about the material and the students. As he calls it, eventually what you do in life is who you become.

Roger is a great prof, asks brilliant questions, listens better than others, offers great insight, makes you think, learn and best of all, laugh. This prof has some great experience and stories. Knows his stuff. He has a magical way of making you comfortable so students participate.

It's not often that I come across people that are able to speak to me in a way that makes me think so critically about a topic and actually inspires me to strive for better. I can actually count on my hand how many people have been able to do this. People like you are invaluable. Thank you, you are a prof worthy of having as a student.

Honestly, did not think HR could be so interesting. Learnt a ton of what to expect as an employee. He knows his stuff, straight about what to expect and what is expected of you. If you do what's expected, it's an easy pass. Would take him for any class like this coming semester.

I am a very shy person, yet Roger was so gentle and caring that regardless of your answer, he was able to extract better ideas and thoughts. Always asked very deep questions, so not easy. In the end, he unintentionally (although I think he knew what he was doing) increased my confidence. Graduating this semester, wish I met him earlier. Miss him.

Tons of experience in the lectures. Great stories of practical corporate challenges. Knowledgable and addresses all issues, responds brilliantly to all questions. Great for the experienced student. I puzzle the less than stellar ratings and note first semester unexperienced students. Want to learn, take him. Want to slide, do not.

Only had 2 classes, 8:00 am. This prof is worth getting there early. Knows his stuff, looks like he loves what he does and students. Makes you think, listens to all comments and makes you laugh. Cannot wait until next class.

Clearly a ton of teaching and business experience and he brings it all every lecture. He even takes the course material and ties it to everyday ' human' interaction and respectfully to global affairs. Great sense of humor as well.

Took is class. Check out his ratings. Not a bad statistic. Believe most as they are correct. One of the best profs I have taken. Not sure, but regardless of the course, I am certain he will deliver. Knows his stuff, but what is the most interesting, is that he knows people. He talks to us like people, not students. Now thats whats right.

Well, the semester is over and I am sad. Oh, it was hard work, study, read, perform, participate and show up. I wouldn't change a thing. Roger was an amazing person to share his experience and the content to us in such a personal and profound way. Greatest professor, teacher, ever.

Everyone in the school of business had to take this intro to HR course, which I was not looking forward to. Professor Roger made it interesting as he knew a lot about HR. Told funny and memorable stories. Big tip, attend, read the text, do all the assignments and you can pass. He also prepares you for a job interview. Will take him again.

Roger truly understands the subject, not only from a theory perspective, yet also in real life relational experience (which he shares liberally, linking it to the course content). He always stressed that we need to use the course material as a study guide to memorize the theories and concepts. I would take this professor anytime, anywhere. Period.
