Great teacher...very enthusiastic. Test questions generally right out of the book. Marketing paper takes some work, but that is really where you learn the material.

very easy class as long as you go to class and take notes on his powerpoint lectures. tests are very straighforward. couple easy assignments. makes class very interesting. doesnt accept late assignments but is an easy grader. would take him again!

Awesome Teacher!!!! Very enthusiastic and very clear. Assignments are a breeze, and tests are simple. Just follow the powerpoints and take notes. He's a really nice guy and you can't help but get interested in marketing!

This is a wonderful teacher! He makes the class very interesting. It's a great discussion class and you will learn a lot. MidTerm & Final are relatively easy as long as you study his slides. Part of grade is based on participation so be prepared to discuss ideas. Great Teacher!!

Really nice! Pay attention and take good notes the midterm and final are almost totally off notes taken in class. He tells you most of whats on the tests. Really nice teacher and pretty easy. Definetely take the class!!!

A very energetic, skilled prof. His lectures are interesting and very worthwhile. Take good notes and you'll be fine on the final. Text was worthless, but if you take good notes you'll never need to open it. Marketing plan project was very worthwhile. Prof Lall has good industry experience from his own mkt practice too.

This guy is good but not great. Had a night class got out early every week, but it was pretty boring overall, just going over slides is not to exciting. Doesn't know how to motivate a class. The two tests are a little challenging, it is pretty indepth, but overall a very good class in which you will learn the basics of marketing.

He is very knowledgeable about marketing. Sparks your interest and causes you to start thinking about the purpose of each marketing campaign. Exams are pretty much based upon notes from the class. Great class to take.

Very insecure, had trouble managing classroom. Could not answer basic questions about marketing that were outside of the lecture. Singled out students for no reason. Grading policies were immature and ridiculous.

Lall is awesome! He is extremely helpful and engages the class in the material. I really enjoyed having him as a professor. Do not listen to what everyone else says. I'm telling you, he rocks. Kinda boring, but he's easy, nice, and always willing to help you. I really enjoyed going to his class, and he grades very fairly! Take him! :)

A very organized and often interesting lecturer, though some topics can run a bit long. Fair grader. The marketing plan feels like a more intensive project than a part-time, core requirement should demand (especially for non-marketing students), but his grading seems pretty lenient if you make any sort of effort.

Roger was very passionate and interested in what he taught. The issue I found with class is that TOO MUCH work is assigned for what is tested on. DON'T focus on the book. Go to class and focus on what he lectures on the most. Then, if you need to reference the book for additional information do so. And, don't procrastinate on the MKT plan.

He is very knowledgeable in this area. I learned a great deal from this course and found him very interesting. He is not dynamic, but really makes up for that in his overall knowledge. I found the exams and group projects very useful. He always listened to students input and clarified any shortcomings of analysis one would have. Great prof.

Prof. Lall is excellent and really have a command on the subject. The market plan assignment gives an opportunity for students to go in depth in what they want to do. Grading is fair and class is not hard. Take him!

Not as easy as people make him out to be, but not difficult. Huge mkt project on company at least 18 pages. Mid term, final, project and attendance make up grade. Tests are not easy, gives you at least on essay question before hand.

Lall IS SO OVERRATED!Very strict on participation& attendance,talk & dont miss class!Mdtm and final very hard compared to what he taught in class.Look @ pp slides & book to study-CANNOT go just off the study guides b.c. more topics are on exam than on study guide-grades the project fair,I'll give him that.So disappointing, dont take him!

you must attend all classes as he takes attendance. interesting lecturer who enjoys teaching which was a refreshing surprise. exams are not difficult so long as you take very good notes in lecture. 20 page marketing plan due at the end of the quarter...graded easily but definitely takes a bit of effort to complete. would take him again.

This class was very valuable and the teacher is great. It is everything you could hope for in a grad class with the difficulty. Mid-term and final were both 5 question essay types. The project goes through the whole quarter and very challenging. One thing I learn is that you better step up and talk in every single class.

Great Professor with tons of passion for the theory of Marketing. I think he did an excellent job fending off three complete morons in the class (The Sara-Lee, the Wrigley girl, & the Dentist). I'm very impressed with his knowledge and ability to convey the simple message about Marketing and it's concepts.

Initially Prof. Lall was very engaging, but the past few weeks he's changed. It seems that he's letting personal problems affect his lectures, resulting in a condescending remark to a student when asked to repeat a concept. Needless to say, the mood was one of uneasiness for the remainder of class.

This is the Dentist. Professor Lall has passion for marketing and makes it interesting for the class. Class participation is huge, so the Wrigley girl, Sara Lee, and myself contributed to the class. You will want to participate, and it counts for the grade, so don't be an ass like the other guy and engage in class discussion.

Overall a good professor. The book is useful as a reference tool. Make sure that you take good notes. Exams are reasonable. Definitely keep up with the marketing plan--he outlines where you should be after each week. Do not leave it until the final few weeks--it will overwhelm you.

Prof. Lall is an interesting lecturer and makes class time go by quickly. Midterm and final are easy, but do test your knowledge. Marketing plan project is challenging. You are graded on in-class participation (very difficult to get full credit). It's very hard to keep up with reading and marketing plan assignments. I recommend his class.

Professor Lall is really good. He is extremely knowledgeable and gives great real world examples. There is a LOT of reading, but the tests really only cover his lectures. You'll do fine as long as you go to lectures and then use the book as a study aid, if needed. The marketing plan is challenging- start early.

Dr. Lall is a great professor! If you have to spend 3 hrs a week with him, this is the guy to do it with. He is knowledgeable and his lectures are enjoyable. Be sure to take good notes as the readings are helpful but not really required. Also, start the project early - don't delay. Great class, wish all teachers were this good.

Helpful, responsive to emails. Passionate about the subject. Very thoughtful in responding to students as to not make them feel stupid about their answer during class participation. Text book is great for deciphering class notes, however test questions are straight from lecture. Start paper asap, otherwise it's overwhelming.

Good teacher. Grade consists of Midterm, Final, Class Participation and Marketing Plan Project. Class participation is important and its important to show up prepared to class. Tests are somewhat difficult with 25 multiple choice and 5 essays but he is pretty lenient in grading essays. Project is time consuming and its important to plan ahead.

He explains with clarity and provides many examples during the classes. The best way to do well for the exams is to cover in the book only topics discussed in the class plus studying his slides. Midterm and final exams are a multiple-choice test plus some essays. The most challenging part is to prepare a marketing plan on an business idea you have.

While Professor Lall is passionate about Marketing, he is less effective as a teacher. There is a TON of work for this class, but it almost seems like busy work. Meaning, after all the work you put it, you don't feel like you learned much or mastered the subject matter. Nothing in this class make you truly assess and apply the concepts.

Smart prof, but creativity is not rewarded in marketing plan or on the tests. Take detailed notes to prepare for tests and make sure your marketing plan is decent in content and formatted correctly (points deducted for single-spacing, no table of contents, budget not in exec summary etc). If you do that, you should be able to walk out with a B+/A-

There is a healthy amount of Leadership that is taught in this class which I did not expect. This isn't a bad thing necessarily but it was somewhat interesting to see a Marketing class add in Leadership this way. Consequently, the class feels a bit disjointed b/c of this. The material is straight forward and lecture/presentation driven.

Very good class. Prof. Lall made the class even more interesting with real life examples. Overall the class has a lot of text book reading and case studies. The marketing plan is very time consuming, but at the same time you will learn a lot from writing the whole plan.

An average instructor. Considering that this was a marketing class he was pretty uninspiring and the powerpoint presentation boring. The marketing plan requires a lot of work but was an excellent tool for learning and reinforcing concepts learned in class. He did a good job developing this activity.

Prof. Lall clearly takes pride in his preparation and delivery of the material presented in this class. The marketing plan project is time consuming; it is critical to stay on top of the assigned sections weekly and not get behind. If you don't mind the work, it's a good Class, take it.

I took this class as a summer session. The pace was brisk, but not relentless. Professor Lall has great examples and explains concepts well. To be successful in this class, be prepared to keep pace with all of his weekly assignments - you'll have a better final project (and be more well-rested) come the 10th week of class.

The class is confusing. Prof Lall sits atop his soap box and likes hearing himself talk. His examples are good but the pace of material is too fast for my liking. 4 chapters/week, plus articles and weekly project portions are due. I didn't retain or learn much, other than how to regurgitate. Worst class I've taken undergrad/grad.

He's a good professor. He is clearly passionate about the material and wants his students to succeed. The project is a tough one. DO NOT pick something abstract. Find something far easier to get information on and be as detailed as possible. Make sure even your hypothetical situations in your project have sound logic and can be understood.

This course was intense. I felt like I was taking endless notes during class, with not time to comprehend what was being taught because I was so worried about missing something said. Take good notes and you'll ace the exams. The exams were over everything in class. What sucked? 20 page marketing plan; very time consuming. Very engaging professor.

I took him for Undergraduate level MKT 301. He was a professor who loves to teach and has a lot of knowledge. He requires a textbook but you don't have to buy it. Pay attention in class and read the lecture and chapter slides he posts. There are two group reports and he chooses your teammates. Fair Guy. Would take him again.

The professor seems to be very passionate about teaching, however his lecture and teaching style is old-fashioned. He is a full-time teacher and has not been working for more than 16 years in the area which makes his lecture very outdated. Poor slides, slow pace class and tough grader. Also, he is not clear to explain what he wants for the mkt plan

Professor Lall was a very inspirational speaker. I enjoyed his lectures each week very much. You REALLY need to go to class or at least thoroughly go over the power point slides each week. There is a large paper due at the end of the quarter but he explains each section each week and it is easy to keep up with if you follow his schedule for it.

If you care about getting a perfect grade with no effort, he is not the one for you. He is knowledgeable, very engaging and a good lecturer. His lectures are super heavy so you can't skip any class and have to take a lot of notes. His exams are tough, you need to memorize a lot of content and he will only give one hour to finish it.

Lectures were a little dry but otherwise very straightforward and inspirational. Assignments were not as interesting (lots of summaries) but gained much more from the content and was able to tie real world examples to lecture as a result.

He is a straight forward man with clear criteria but broad classes. I'd take his class again, the only thing I'd change was I wish his reading assignments were not so open-ended (he has you read the whole textbook with little direction as to what you're looking for/at).

The guy talks...a lot. Expects you to read the entire book without clear direction for what to do. Oh and in the middle of the lecture, he gets sudden bursts of energy where he screams into your headphones so lower that volume people. He makes no sense and goes on tangents.

Prof. Lall is a very sweet person but OMG are his lectures boring. The lectures drag on and his slides are unfortunately not helpful, so if you skip class and think "oh, I'll just look at the slides," think again! 40% of the class is 2 group projects :/ and 60% is the midterm/final. He's not the toughest grader but you definitely have to work hard.

Very nice professor. Lectures were a little boring. Workload was very easy. Weekly reading summaries and a paper worth 60% of your final grade - divided into two parts. Not a tough grader.
