Mack is quite a character. Not always too good at covering the material, but he's got lots of great stories which he (unfortunately) tells 2 times each on average. I should have asked more questions; he's got a ton of interesting life experience.

Just finished the final..phew. In all honesty, I've never put in so much effort into a class before. He's the best though...you'll learn a lot. He grades on a curve and basically the top 25% will get an A. You know...really just read the book, do the hw, and study for the exams. If you do that, getting an A is not as hard as everyone makes it sound

Mack really knows his stuff, but he is definitely unorganized. You don't know exactly what homework he wants you to do or read. There is 1 thing that ANGERS me, his conceitedness. He thinks highly of himself. When i read his side book i feel as if I'm running around in circles not really getting what his thoughts are. Overall you learn a lot.

He's okay. Fabricates a lot of stories about himself such as teaching and coach and Stanford. Enjoys babbling on about his friends and ESPECIALLY how tall he is. Never stops bragging about his height. His tests are okay if you read the book. Honestly, learned mostly from online and from the book than from his lectures.

I took him for all 1, 2 & 78j. He is the best prof ever! I transferred to UCSD and I was recommended to take Econ 2 (market imperfection) there. I ended up not studying and got an A on test. Mack's Econ 2 = Econ 1+2 at UCSD. That's how baller the class is. His class is not hard to ace. (Hint: He gives at most 10 As each qtr. So... use game theory!)

class is more of an inconvenience than a helpful catalyst. He doesn't hardly teach, but more often goes off on tangents in class about his own personal experiences. He expects you to learn it on your own. on the up-side, he is a very nice guy and easy to talk to. If you already understand econ, great, take his class. If not, stay far far away.

His class fast paced, realistic applications, requires self-study/responsibility. He is smart, insightful, helpful at all times. Tests are curved, top percentile gets A. You will learn a lot in this class if you listen and put your heart into it. This is real Economics, real Social Science. Will not be your typical easy A class.

He's a wonderful man. Taught me so much. Dr. Mack has been my greatest influence. As a student, you are expected to see the lectures as complimentary to the material you're learning. It will not be spoon-fed to you. Enjoy the lectures, ask questions, and prepare to do your homework. Take his stories with a grain of salt.

Mack is an okay teacher. He'll teach for half the class and talk about himself for the other half. He curves all the tests except for the final. If you want an A, don't take Mack. I felt that I learned more from the book than him. He is very interesting though.

He is easy to listen to, but this class is not easy in the least bit! He knows what he is talking about but the lectures often dont teach you the mechanics of what you are supposed to be learning but he tests on it. Dont take this class unless you can focus on it or are brilliant and econ, it is difficult!!!

Best professor at de anza. If you have a chance to take him do yourself a favor. I had him the first couple quarters last year for microeconomics and macro. He's an excellent teacher that is very enthusiastic about his lectures and gives you every thing you need to pass. He's also a niner fan and a bit of a comedian!

I took ECON 1 with him too. He is definitely your best choice in De Anza. Even now I transferred to Berkeley, I still found I benefit a lot from his teachings. Fair curve, you earn what you deserve if you understand the materials. No tricky stuff, but perhaps you will want to know more what is going on in the world right now.

Brilliant economist, but very difficult to follow. Rarely explains any formulas, just lectures about the economy and his many experiences. Barely wrote a thing on the board. He expects you to learn everything yourself from the books, which he wrote. He's also a Stanford professor, so that explains his style and difficulty. Not an intro class!

Dr. Mack teaches at Stanford and De Anza, he's funny, brilliant and expects a lot of you. If you need macro economics, Dr. Mack is the one to take. The fact that he expects a lot of you is a good thing, he believes in you. Presents pertinent current issues in economics to bring the subject into today and gives you plenty of opportunity to do well.

Econ - rational decisions are made using available information with the goal of improving ones condition. Not. Behavioral econ helps explain why people do not behave rationally and make poor decisions which negatively impact their present and future selves. Fascinating class and Dr. Mack is passionate about this subject - fun, game theory & econ.

He's one of those profs that will kick your behind and truly test you on some critical thinking, but then you're the better for it. Presses you to understand a concept as it applies to the real world and not just memorize terms and facts. Teh textbook and assignments give you the material and his lectures take you to "the next level".
