He's hiliarious and very enjoyable

Great teacher. Huge fan of Roman Holiday. He tends to get on the floor to act out scenes. Rather hilarious guy. I give my full recomendation. There is no other professor to take for History I.He will remember your name 3 years after you have him in class.

He was a good teacher and fun to listen to in class. If you study a couple hours for each test you can get an A easy.

Professor Pauly is the most hillarious teacher you will ever have. I love his class because he makes History fun and relevent to the world we live in today. He's a great teacher. I have learned so much from him.

Great history teacher. Describes everything you need to know. Just take notes from the over-heads and u will do great on the tests. Very funny man too.

An awesome teacher,has been known to break out in song and dance in the middle of class. The class takes lots of notes but it was worth it. Some bonus points given at very end of semester

He is SUCH a good teacher! I can't say this enough. You only have to write 1 essay and the test are easy if you come to class everyday!

HE is so freaking funny. I have never laughed so hard in a class. He also gives fabulous notes which are structured. I can guarantee you will never get bored or fall asleep in any class. He has a great twisted sense of humor. I love his classes. I would rate him as one of best profs at UCA

If i had a good reason to take his class again i would. He is an amazing lecturer and is hilarious. I would recommend his class to anyone.

If you have to take Historical Research, Dr. Pauly is the man to take. He's so funny and makes a drag of a class really fun and interesting.

Dr. Pauly really made a required gen ed coarse (that I didn't want to take) fun. He makes jokes, acts, and dances around (in a relevent manner). I would definately recommend him for any coarse!

Dr. Pauly is awsome. He's so funny and entertianing.He's a great professor. I love his sense of hurmor. He really makes a horrible class fun. I'd take any of his classes. If you've got to take Historical Research, Dr. Pauly is the man to take.

Easy class take good notes only stupid people make less than an A

The class is terrible, but if you have to take it, I highly recommend taking Dr. Pauly. He doesn't make the class any easier, but he's really entertaining. Also, he's a really nice guy who will help you if you're having problems.

He is hilarious. You have to take a lot of notes, so come to class. This is not a class to skip. Overall it was a very good class and I am glad I took him.

I've had three classes with Dr. Pauly and I've loved them all. You must go to class simply because he's so funny! His upper division tests are tough, but if you study and pay attention in class you will do well. MUST take for lower division, very fun for upper division.

One of my favorites, very funny in class. Makes lectures in a class I don't care about much easier to go to. You never know what he is going to do. I would recommend taking him.

He has a great sense of humor. A lot of note-taking, but if you keep up it'll make the tests easier. He really makes history fun. And he's an avid Welsh Corgie fan.

I think this guy really wanted to be a comedian growing up. He is really funny, he cracks jokes about historical events and I can remember actually wanting to come to his class. Great guy, really tries to put a name to a face, his test are a little out there but other than that he is pretty easy.

Dr. Pauly is a very funny guy... i hated history until i took his class... i would take him again anyday.... his test are moderatly hard but he doesn't grade very difficult at all... you write one paper but he doesn't grade it hard at all... i did it in 30 minutes and made a 89... i would highly recommend anyone to take pauly for world history I

Dr. Pauly is amazing. His class was SO much fun! He is absolutely hilarious and really easy-going. He has a sarcastic sense of humor which I love. I definitely plan on taking him again if at all possible.

Hilarious!!! He loves what he does and that shines very bright when he is in front of the class. He knows a lot of interesting facts and has a way for you to remember them... Very helpful

Great teacher, come to class and take notes off of powerpoint and you will do fine. three test, one paper, 2or3 hw, and a final. funny tries to make world history fun. i would try to take him if you can.

Pauly is a funny man. He quotes things like "bill and teds awesome adventure" and then seems sad when only 2 of us get it. His pp give you the gist of what you'll need on the tests. I would listening to what he's saying cus its a lot more interesting coming from him then looking it up in the book, and if its on the test hes talked about it in class

Excellent teacher. Super fun and very very helpful. 1 paper, 3 quizes and 3 tests, but theyre easy. Lots of notes, but if you take them and study them you'll make at least a B- decent effort will get you an A. Very funny and very accommodating. I plan to take him for upper level classes.

PAULY= AMAZING! He posts the powerpoints online. print it off ahead of lecture and take it to class to take extra notes on. Easy A. Pauly tells history in today's language and often cracks jokes about it. The MC section of tests are worth 60 pts (2 pts per question) but he gives you 36 to answer so you can miss 6 and still get all pts. TAKE HIM!

He is extremely interesting in class, and makes History pretty understandable..and I SUCK at History. I studied my notes and other peoples notes and came to class a lot but his tests kicked my butt. Never made higher than a D- (including Final). But if you ask him for help and let him know you're trying, he does what he can. I ended up with a C :)

He's awesome, he makes me want to come to class and hear what he has to say. He loves to tell jokes, and makes at least 3 to 4 movie references every class, which is awesome.

LOVE DR. PAULY. He makes history lectures SO interesting. I laugh pretty much the entire time. He's really interesting and I am never bored even though I hate history. There are 3 writing assignments, a map quiz, and 3 tests. As long as you go to class and study you'll do fine! Highly recommend taking him.

Had him for World History 1 & 2. Makes class funny and interesting. 2 critical reasoning assignments and one writing assignment over a book you have to read. Attendance is OPTIONAL!!

Dr. Pauly is honestly the best professor I have encountered at UCA. I have been so disappointed in the quality of professors until I took Dr. Pauly. The tests are not so difficult IF you study, take good notes, and read the text books. The m/c is tricky but if you study you will be fine. This is college you have to work at your grade.

Dr. Pauly is an excellent teacher. He is funny and his powerpoints are interesting. You only need to read the Sundiata of Mali. He assigns 3 essays, which were only a few pages and quite easy. His tests are right off the notes. I didn't study and I got 100% on one of his tests. Very easy. Rarely boring. I'd recommend this class to anyone. Take him.

I had Dr Pauly for World History II this semester. Attendance is optional, he's actually surprised if people come on fridays. Overall, he's funny and interesting. I made a 98 or something in his class because on his tests you can miss 6 m.c. questions and still get a 100 on that part, and his essay grading is easy. great teacher. take him.

Only three tests (multiple choice & essay) and two short papers (very easy). His tests are very hard! You do not need the recommended textbook, you will never use it. His tests are hard because there is so much material on each of them. If he had four tests I think his class would be much easier. Very good and funny teacher, but fairly difficult.

I loved his class. He was funny and the most interesting prof I ever had. His test were a little hard, but if you just take good notes and pay attention then you'll pass, I never opened the text book, I studied straight from the notes I took and made a B+. His class is one I would take again even.

Pauly will keep you interested the whole class with his sarcasm and insight in the history of ancient and medieval civilizations. Tests are who,what,where,when, why on definitions. One major essay and two brief writings. Not much homework day to day. The class is a must take if you are a freshman. It was defiantly my favorite class of the year.

Really outstanding professor! I made high B in the class. Just make sure you never miss his class because they are all lectures. His test are pretty easy just make sure you study

Dr. Pauly is the BEST history professor to take. He makes lectures very interesting and makes it easy for the class to understand! He is a very smart man and knows his history well! Class attendance is a must and just take good notes. He's willing to help you with anything and if you mess up on an assignment, he will most likely let you re-do it!

Dr. Pauly was the nicest professor I've had. He really is an interesting lecturer. Definitely go to class because that's where his tests come from.

CHOOSE THE SHORT AWNSER TEST. He's an awesome professor. He gives great lectures, and he's hilarious, but his multiple choice tests are seriously tough. He'll give you the option to take the multiple choice or short answer, and for the love of God, take the short answer. It's so much easier.

Dr. Pauly has been my favorite professor so far here at UCA. Take good notes and study them for the tests and you will make a good grade in the course. Hes very funny and makes lectures real interesting. He has opportunities for extra credit towards the end as well if you need it. Will take him again easily

Take him! I had a 71 in the class after the final test and he gave me a B in the class. Great man.

I really enjoyed this class. It was probably the only class of mine that I actually wanted to go to because he's hilarious and his tests are so easy I think I could have passed them in 8th grade. Just come to class and listen and you'll be fine, although taking notes isn't hard and could help. I made an A easily. Definitely Take!

I love Dr. Pauly! He is hilarious and always makes his lectures worth coming to. I learned a lot in his class and he is personable. We had two papers and two tests that our grades came from but he allowed us to pick terms that he would put on the test. Would definitely recommend taking him!

I am an international student and I had him for my first semester. He is really amazing and comprehensive.. He made history so fun than i learned something at the end for his class

I took History of Civilizations I with Dr. Pauly at UALR over the summer and loved it! Dr. Pauly is truly an incredible professor. He assigned 3 small writing assignments, a midterm, and a final. He provided a clear grading criteria and gave good feedback. I would take him again, without a doubt!

Dr. Pauly is one of the best professors at UCA. Even if you don't have an interest in history, his lectures are always entertaining with a lot of funny stuff and extra info. He gives three multiple choice/short essay tests a semester, that is including the final, a book report over a short novel, and a few other take home assignments.

I love this man. He's very into what he teaches so it makes it a lot easier to pay attention to him. He's what I pictured as a college professor. Highly recommend him. If I had room for another class, I would take him again.

Pauly's amazing. Great lecturer, encourages discussion and really creates an environment where you can talk and ask questions. Not only met my disability accommodations but went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and could succeed. Super understanding and kind. Assignments are straightforward and I found the tests pretty easy.

Dr. Pauly makes his lectures very interesting, everything he says sticks with you for the test. He's funny, very nice, and very laidback. Assignments are pretty simple, and not hard to do well on, just read the directions. If you go to class, you will do well on the test. Overall, his World History I & II classes were super fun and informational!

Wonderful guy. Kinda corny but oh well. Test questions can be very difficult (most require you to think and analyze, instead of coughing up redundant points. Only bad thing about him is he doesnt post slides, material, etc.. You have to go to class to know whats on the exam. Kinda cringe tbh. I Recommend him for people who attend class flawlessly

Although my course was online, I thoroughly enjoyed taking Dr. Pauly class. He did wonderful English impressions. For tests he asked students for recommendations for the test and gave a "study guide" prior to the test. He seems pretty easy going and fun!

Posted online lectures that were entertaining, but I def suggest taking notes. He only leaves the lectures up for a day unless u ask. Expects participation during zoom & he'll just call on random ppl. Takes attendance. The few assignments were tedious, but not difficult. 1 essay, 3 open-book tests (Mult Choice & Essay). Gives excellent feedback.

Roger Pauly is a good professor. He is a funny guy and makes his lectures very interesting. There are not many assignments to get graded on, but they are all straightforward and easy. Tests are also very easy but you need to show up to class each day and take notes. I will be taking him again next semester, so take that as you will. Fun professor!

Dr. Pauly was by far the best professor I had this semester. It is easy to tell that students are interested and usually engaged when he's lecturing. Every class is a lecture so I wouldn't plan on skipping too many, but there's no need to read the book. He grades fairly easily you just have to get used to it, and he front-loads work.

Pauly is a easy going guy and there is plenty to learn in the class. Not many assignments to get graded on but they are all pretty easy if you read instructions well. Tests were open book for my class but not sure if that will be an ongoing thing. I highly recommend Pauly!

Dr. Pauly is by far my favorite professor. He is very kind and cares about his students. If you show up and participate in the lectures when he asks questions then you will do just fine. I recommend sitting in the front. There is not many assignments and from my experience he did not grade them hard. 100 percent recommend!!

Dr. Pauly is simply amazing. Front loads the class with work, but that's so his class doesn't interfere with your finals in other classes. Hilarious, and very interesting lectures. Lets students give him advice on what the test should look like, and he actually listens to them. I can't say enough good things. Not a hard class and an easy grader.

The tests are pretty spread out so you'll need to pay attention and take good notes but he makes all the information very fun. You'll have a couple of reading assignments from books he requires. The tests are two parts, one being multiple choice online and the other an essay in class. He'll answer questions and keep you engaged.

The first two months of this class are very stressful due to the way he structures his work. He grades pretty tough on the assignments so be prepared for that, but his exams are easy points. The last 2 months of this class are so easy so it's worth it. Dr Pauly is a great professor and he does a good job of keeping his lectures interesting.

You must attend class and take notes on the lectures. That being said, you will enjoy the lectures. 1 book you had to actually read. It wasnt bad and gave a unique perspective, but it wasn't my cup of tea. Hopefully he cycles through a few different ones. Tests aren't hard if you can do bare minimum studying. Dr Pauly has been one of my favorite professors. He is very lecture heavy, but as long as you pay attention and take notes the exams will be easy. His exams are in two parts. Multiple choice online and in class essay. He lets the class choose the topics that they will be writing about. He is not a tough grader, as long as you present evidence.

I love Professor Pauly! He follows the syllabus. His classes are worth 500 points. There are 2 diversity assignments worth 50 points each. One paper worth 100 points and 3 exams. The multiple choice portion of each test can be take outside of class and it is timed. You can get 40 extra credit points

Overall an amazing professor! There is one book you are required to read, but it's very short. Exams are written and MCQ. The written part is done over a topic your class selects and the MCQ are taken outside of class and open notes.
