He is extemely understanding and willing to help students. He wants you to get an A! He's very nice and sometimes misunderstood. It is a hard class, don't get me wrong, but its the material and pace thats hard. Its difficult but required for all business majors. Do your homework, show up for class, ask for help if you need it and you will pass.

Despite the other reviews, he is certainly NOT the worst professor in the business department. Professor Gonul takes that title by a LANDSLIDE! I found professor solano very helpful when i did ask him for assistance. Unless you are hearing is impaired, he is not difficult to understand at all.

The lectures are a little bit complicated to follow, however, if you take time to understand the material or get a tutor, it is not bad at all. He gives you all the test questions and resources to help you answer every question! You basically can take the test at home before you take it in class. With a tutor, I got an easy A!

I thought he was pretty cool, not a bad class at all. People are overreacting about him being awful and it's easy to get over his accent. Sometimes class is boring but if I had just come more prepared I'd have an A in this class easily.

Questions on exams are the same as the questions in the homework. Utilize study plan and you will do well on the tests. Don't buy a paper copy of the text book. When you purchase the pearsonmylab access code, which is required to do the homework, you will be able to view an e version of the book. I never used the paper copy.

The class is 80-85% math (he'll guide you through all of it) done online and on Excel (necessary for this class), so there's not really space for misinterpretation. Go to every class, even when he says it won't happen, just to be sure.

Dr. Solano is a very good professor. I learned a lot in this class because of his thorough teaching. There is a lot of homework but it really prepares you for the exams. As long as you go to class and pay attention you will do good. Make sure you attend all classes and do the homework on time.

He's a nice man with a good sense of humor. Watch out for the HW, later in the semester it will take HOURS to complete. He is very reasonable but does have a ridiculous attendance policy. Outside of your own death he probably won't excuse you. You lose 25% of your attendance grade for every absence. Other than that, not a bad class.

Completing the assignments and showing up for class determines whether or not you pass. His attendence policy seems a little bit crazy, but just show up, do your homework and study for the exams and you will be fine. This class was really helpful for my major and I would recommend it to others.

This class is an Easy A or B if you pay attention in class. You cant miss class. He makes everything clear from the jump. The material is very easy to learn. The homeowork assignments help a lot and they are very similar to the exam. As long as you study and come to class and pay attention youll pass

Dr. Solano's class was awesome! You are given homework assignments weekly which he gives you ahead of time. Exams are on Pearson MyLab along with everything else in this course. He does have and accent but he tries very hard to make himself clear to understand. Def take him, he is a great professor :)

The class overall is difficult if you do not pay attention. Everything is online and overall its not to hard. If you need to take Operation Management take it with Solano. BEWARE: DON'T TAKE OUT YOUR CELL PHONE

He was a great professor! This class was my favorite class this semester! It was very interesting and useful. There is a lot of quantitative math involved, but Dr. Solano does a good job of going through examples. If you do the homework and show up to class you should have no problems!

Dr. Solano cares so much as to if his students understand the material, and strives to help them the best he can. The tests are easy if you pay close attention and review the material a couple of nights before the exam. I would honestly take him for all business classes if possible. Dr. Solano was an excellent professor and his class was relatively easy if you show up and do the homework. However, if you're someone who occasionally misses class, do NOT take him. I only missed 2 classes all semester and my grade dropped from an A to a B, which was quite frustrating after putting in the time to study and do all the homework.

Dr. Solano uses mypearsonlabandmastering for his classes, if you have problems doing homework and taking tests online, this class wouldn't be for you. He has strict policies but isn't unfair with them (I think they're more of a scare tactic for the beginning of the semester). Overall, he was clear with what he expected and was a good professor.

Dr. Solano just wants the absolute best for his students and wants to see them succeed. He doesn't make it impossible to get an A. Expect homework assignments on Pearson. The exams are very similar to the homework assignments. Overall, I would definitely suggest him as a professor. Cool guy!

He is a very good teacher but the class does require you read and have a basic understanding of the concepts. You will like him if you come to class and participate. He is a good guy who will cut you a break if you truly need it. Does his best he can to keep you interested. Highly recommend him. You can understand him fine if you're not retarded.

This professor is wonderful. He lectures and teaches you the material you need to know for each test. You just have to be willing to do his weekly homework assignments and actually attend class. I enjoyed this course and am taking a great deal of knowledge with me as I leave!

Not a bad guy and the class itself was not hard. You just HAVE to come to class which is somewhat inconvenient for a class mostly done on the computer. Also, MUST do the home works, which there is quite a lot but they are online and not hard just take time.

Best teacher at SRU so far. He makes sure the whole class is on bored and knows what they are doing. It is a very hands on. If you learn by doing then you will have no problem getting a good grade. You have to complete all assignments and show up to class. If you pay attention and learn the assignments then you will do very good on the test.

Class is mandatory, you will take a quiz everyday to verify you are there, there is alot of homework that is due every week, the homework is time consuming and you use excel heavily, if you are looking for an easy class this is not the one for you, tests are just like the homework there are 4 exams- very doable class i recommend it as an easy A/B

You can easily achieve an A for Dr. Solano's operations management if you're willing to work for it. Spend the required time to complete every homework assignment, take the practice chapter tests before the exam and you will have no problem passing!

First off, Dr. Solano is not a waste of oxygen. (Sir, if you're reading this, you'll get the reference, I hope.) Strict, but extremely helpful. I learned more in this class than most of my other classes. He most definitely tries to prepare you for the real world, and to use what you learn in your future job. A great man. Take him.

Dr. Solano is a good guy. He's not like some of the other professors who just show up and treat each class like a routine. He really wants his students to succeed and will work with you to make sure that happens. Operations Management isn't the easiest subject but Dr. Solano teaches it very well. Spring 2017 for operations management 1. Solano was one my favorite professors at SRU. He comes off as strict initially but warms throughout the semester. Solano is an excellent teacher, definitely my favorite non American professor. OM is a math course that uses Microsoft Excel heavily. Take OM directly after Productivity Software if possible

Dr. Solano is a very caring professor. His class is not an easy A, but he will do everything he can to help you receive an A. You know your grade all semester long, and he is always around to help you if you do not understand what you are learning. He is very funny and jokes a lot. I would highly recommend taking a class with him if you can!

Dr. Solano is very thorough with this course. He opens assignments in myomlab at least a week in advance so there is plenty of time to complete them. His in class lectures are very good as well and he is great with answering questions whether in class or via email. Overall he is a great professor and I would definitely his class again.

Amazing guy and teacher. He is funny and easy going and someone who actually cares about his students passing. He may spend a bit of time on examples but it is needed for a spreadsheet question. He shows you how to use Excel and take the easy way of calculating the problems instead of you using a calculator. More professors need to learn from him.

The first day of class he seems like a real jerk, but after that he opens up and it turned out that hes a really nice guy. The class is hard but he is a natural teacher so he makes it easy to understand material. The class revolves around excel so it wouldnt hurt to brush up on excel before you start the class. Dr. Solano is one of the best professors ive ever had. He teaches by lecturing and hands on in class practice done through Pearson. He pulls up excel on the projector and does the problems along with us while we do them on our own computer. Tests are also on pearson and are just like the homework/ in class examples so theres never any surprises.

Everything is done through Pearson so know your deadlines and complete them you will get a good grade. The powerpoints are available through Pearson that helps with concepts and the math nature. He posts videos on D2L on how to do some of the math so if you save your excel sheets from the homeworks it makes taking the exams much easier.

Not the easiest class, had to take for my major. Really nice professor. Class is through Pearson, the HW takes hours to do but isn't the hardest, just take a while. Exams are straight off homework. Solano is tough but you will learn a lot from him. He has a lot of rules but as long as you follow them, you'll do fine. Homework takes 6 hours per assignment so be ready. I enjoy the content and he explains it very well.

This class was definitely tough, but he is so helpful and gets back to you almost immediately. He is pretty strict on his policies, but it is only attendance and phones that he cares a lot about. Attendance is extremely important, but as long as you truly make an effort, you will do great! I would 1000% recommend Solano.
