HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! very easy teacher. took his class in wintermester, which was extremely easy as long as you attend the class regularly and take good notes. Tests are easy and I did not buy a book because all the test questions were from his notes.
This man is amazing!I am not much into history but everything he says sticks in my head! He makes everything about european economics more fun. He is so nice and willing to help if needed. Try not to miss a day b/c most of the exam comes from lecture. I would def take him again if I could.
Easy prof - good attitude and tells funny stories, but this class may as well be retitled "Global Warming Denial 101". Book not required (it sucks). Go to class every day and take copious notes and you will pass.
His class is very interesting. He is Kind of all over the place but it makes the class fun. Go to class, take great notes, and study his hand outs and you should do fine. Also prepare and memorize an essay before his test because if you don't like his essay questions you can scratch it out and write your own, which is a big help.
DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!!!!! you will never use it! show up, take good notes, study handouts (test #2 is all formulas, in macro) and prepare an essay question b/c he will let you scratch it out and write your own in. he only gives 2 tests and a final! other than that he's funny and pretty easy
I took ECON-2305, Macroeconomics. Roger Wehr tries to brain-wash your mind with his very conservative points of views. If you are a liberal this class will upset you as he is into indoctrination on his right-wing mentality. Do not buy the green book (Gerald W. Stone),instead buy the Paul Samuelson's one. He is very funny.
Last semester of college, took this as an elective. Hardest class I have taken! I did not miss one class, took good notes, studied, and will end up with a low C or D. I was looking forward to taking this class, but it was without a doubt my least favorite class throughout my entire college career. He never responds to emails and the tests are hard!
I love this man, he makes the class interesting and funny. tests are M/C and for short essay question if U don't know the ans you can write the one U know. Book is important to read for tests, but good thing is he'll tell you which pages to read. attendance is not mandatory, but his notes are priceless, go to class and take good notes. I got an A,
This is a hard class with complete emphasis on notes!!!
So i didn't have any interest in taking this course at first, but now I'm glad I did. His class really did open my eyes to different types of jobs im newly interested "especially in the airline industry" This class wasn't easy, but it was very do-able especially if your interested in this type of stuff and if not, you will! Ended up with a High B!
Absolutely one of my top 5 teachers that I have had in my 5 years of college. Note taking is mandatory along with regular class attendance, and a recorder if you can. Makes the class really fun and engaging, while keeping a genuine interest in the class. 3 tests with an optional 4th so you must show up every class!
Good professor. Very entertaining and funny. Very difficult. Teaches as if you already understand terms. Must take lots of notes. Relates economics to real life. Concise teaching. He makes sure you know what is going to be on the test. Never uses book at all. Very helpful at office. I like him.
He conveys material with effectiveness, however he spends way to much time blabbing about his right wing views which usually im ok with but his is way to much. Test are nothing but gimmics that dont test knowledge of material just attendance. I am an Econ major and will stay away from his classes.
If you dont do good in his class, i'm sorry but you definitely have a problem. Great Prof! Take him!
Hilarious and full of energy for the entire class and semester. Arlington local that's great for UTA and the community.
Mr. Wehr is awesome. He is full of energy and does the silliest things in class. But this helps you remember what he talks about! He sometimes rabbit-trails and goes off into a hilarious story. Great experience in class. :)
Professor Wehr in an energizer bunny! He's always hoping around and tell jokes. He's a great professor. Attendance isn't required. He gives plenty of chances for extra credit! I didn't do too well in his class because I just don't understand economics. There's free tutoring. Just an all around great professor!
GREAT TEACHER! Made 36 on 1st test but he offers an alternative test after finals. I didn't buy the book, and I'm looking to make an A or high B now. His teaching methods are awesome, catch your attention, and help you remember. Go by his office if you need help. Also, getting a study group together 4 exams helps; talk to your classmates.
Professor Wehr uses his class to spread the conservative agenda. He never uses the textbook. Extremely funny and that's the only reason he gets goods evaluations. He doesn't have a method to teach. Used the projector only twice and it was to blast Obama. Make ridiculous comments that will upset you. Tests are very too long. This is a hard class.
Excellent teacher! Entertaining, silly, yet knowledgeable. He's got enough energy for the whole class. He uses a lot of print-outs of info and requires some reading from the text, but overall an easy class. On exams, he gives points for effort--so even if you got the wrong answer, if tried, you probably got some points anyway. I highly recommend!
Look everyone, just because he's funny it doesn't make him a great teacher. Only way you make an A or B is if you go to his office on your own, and he is really busy most of the time. Hard to prepare on your own because he tends to blabber on and on about nothing.
I took this professor during a wintermester, and yes he rambles on about a lot of nothing. Could have covered a lot of test material in those 3 hours and 45 minutes every day, rather than talking about his past experiences and humorous background. Never clear to what will be on the test, but if you have a photographic memory, you should be fine.
Prof Wehr is awesome. He is so funny! He is extremely helpful during tests and is super friendly. So far, I've done really well on the tests, which are basically based on notes. Study your notes, memorize the study sheet he gives you, and all is well. Some reading of the text may be required to fully understand concepts. Go to class for extracrdt.
Yes his funny, but really this is not an easy class. If your not an econ nerd and you just want to get this class out of the way I would look at another professor. Instructor lectures seem very erratic, and do not seem to follow and logic. He tangent's can be funny and interesting, but most of the time they do not facilitate learn.Test are hard!
This prof is a must! Take any of his classes if you have a chance. I enjoyed the entire semester.
The only way to pass the class is to GO to class. He makes economics interesting, and his tests are not hard if you study. He steers away from the lecture a lot with funny stories, but each story he tells has a significant value. It helps u understand what he is trying to say. Take this class if you are willing to attend and take notes
Excellent prof. Recommend taking this prof. His lectures are very interesting, he is passionate about the subject, and helpful to his students. One of the best profs I have had at UTA. Very fair. 3 tests and you can write in your own questions on the first 2 tests. Recommend write in questions instead of guessing.
I'd avoid if possible--hes more an entertainer than a teacher. he will tell jokes/stories and then has 5 minutes to rush through an hour of material. tests are very challenging. hes a nice guy, but not a great teacher by any means. Don't buy the online textbook, 90% of the pages are blank
prin. of macro. this class is fun, he plays random pictionary and hangman games & goes off on some tangent. the opt test helped me get back to my A. i read the book for all the tests-- helped the most on the 1st test. Class is fun, take crazy notes!
I never wrote a review before, but I wanted to let people know that this professor is known for being really funny and make class not boring. HOWEVER! He uses the class time to discuss nothing that's about transportation economics and random trivia questions that could be on the test. You have to write really good notes to do well on his test.
Must take class very good professor and encourage to teach you any where. Third exam was challenging, but optional exam helps a lots. Go for him.
Grade consists of 3 tests. Fairly easy B, you'll have to put forth a little more effort for an A. Offers extra credit (you'll have to write a paper). Took during winter session. Classes were 4 hrs long which got a little boring, but it's doable. Never bought or looked at the book, don't bother buying it. Guy knows his stuff.
He's a funny professor, but if you actually want to learn European Economic History don't take him, cause all you will learn is European History and random Trivia. His tests are really random, they don't come from the book or presentations. He has randomly written handouts, disorganized system. The grading is skewed also. Can pass, but don't take.
Now, Mr. Wehr is very funny and is known for making class interesting. However, if you want an A I recommend attending every class and taking very good notes. He does everything old school, ie. no emailed powerpoints, lecture is just off the top of his head and writing on the board. Not very hard to get an A if you are in class everyday though.
He is an amazing person, made class very fun, BUT test are completly random! Study the things you think that wouldnt be on the test, dont study things you think will. Goes off topic, easily and crams in the last minutes. I would not recommend
Pretty easy to earn a good grade. Take lots of notes and study those notes! He allows you to use different editions of an econ textbook, but this is a blessing and a curse. A blessing because older editions are cheap, but a curse because it's hard to find the same material he talks about in the book. Plus he has useful notes on his website.
Took Wehr over Maymester. This guy is funny which makes class WAY more enjoyable. He could easily be a comedian. The course isn't too challenging, but does require some studying. Didn't use a book. 3 test and extra credit. Made an A. I would definitely take another course with him. I would also attend class cause some questions come from lecture.
Dr. Wehr is a funny guy. His stories relate to economics in a way that you accidentally remember the concepts during the test. The subject matter is difficult, but c'mon its econmomics. You want easy go take an art class. If you want a better understanding of the world around you TAKE THIS CLASS!
He is THE most great professor I ever took! Very inviting to speak up and help you. Funny guy. Always reviews for your tests. Gives extra credits. Love his class!
Econ is a tough subject, but Wehr is a great professor. He knows his stuff!! This class is NOT an easy A, he gives 3 tests..that's it. So take notes and go to class!! He is very entertaining and makes Econ interesting! Also, he usually provides oppurtunities for bonus points on each test. Also offers a Bonus Test after Finals to replace any exam!
He is a good professor. I will take him for all my Econ class, if I can.
One of the best professors I have taken! He is awesome and very funny. He makes the material so interesting. Do not hesitate in taking him. You must take notes, don't need the book. Do not miss a class because all of his tests are based off his notes. I recommend him to everyone. Easy A if you try.
Awesome teacher. Doesn't take attendance but you pretty much have to go because tests are almost exclusively from lecture. Doesn't use powerpoints but does use handouts that he gives the answers to. 3 tests and an optional paper. The tests aren't too bad as long as you take all the notes. You need the book but he gives you exact pages before tests
I had my doubts at the beginning of the semester, but in the end he turned out to be a fantastic professor. I bombed the first test and wound up making an A. I'm taking him for 2306 too. Highly recommended.
Fun class, great sense of humor.
Hilarious professor! So entertaining and very engergetic. Doesn't write his own tests so what he teaches doesn't really match up with the tests. He is very approachable if you need help which I highly recommend.
Wintermester: lectured for 2 hours, talked about his life or his conservative views for the other 2. Every. Single. Day. It was entertaining, dont get me wrong, but it did get old. Some test questions qwew over minor details (Which airlines had a parody website?) Had an avg of 83 but did extra credit and he bumped it up to an A. Nice guy overall.
Funny, makes a hard class easy. Corny jokes but I never once got close to falling asleep in class.
Great Professor. He is a funny guy which keeps you engaged in the topic. Easy A if you pay attention and study. No need to read text book. He covers everything with simple real life examples.
Very funny and has lots of jokes. Great instructor
very funny, tests aren't easy, and he is impossible to be reached out of class. NEVER writes back to emails or answers office phone. its annoying.
Go to lectures! We don't use a book, so everything comes from the lecture. I do recommend you use a book to clarify a concept you might not understand. Cheap book for under $10 from half priced books or craigslist is fine. Easy A if you attend class or get notes from somebody.
A good professor. Although I learn quite differently than how he taught, he was very helpful when I asked. I tried to follow along in the book, but he jumps around. Go to class- so important! He has chances for you to get extra points, take them! If you're still worried about your grade, talk to him. He's very understanding! He is NOT an easy A.
I took him for 2305 and 2306. It is imperative that you attend class to take notes. You do NOT need a book for his class, take good notes and study them well. In my experience macro is easier than micro, but there are ample opportunities to get extra credit. He is also hilarious and very understanding. Easy A if you apply yourself!
TAKE HIM. You will not regret it. Class is so incredibly entertaining and interesting you won't even realize that you're learning. Safe to say he is a silly professor who tells random jokes and stories and the students LOVE IT. Hes so amazing I passed by recording every single lecture, attendance is crucial bc test is straight from lecture
He is hilarious and very helpful. He makes class very interesting while making sure he teaches everything you need to know.
Great, humorous, funny professor. I enjoyed his lectures. Strongly recommend take his class
Maymester: Gives you free points(easy questions) on the tests for showing up to his lecture. Some material can become rather trivial and seemingly useless to apply to transportation economics. Very nice and willing to help. Does not answer e-mails but gives you his phone number. Don't hesitate to call!
I took him for the maymester, and all I have to say it best class so far. The class was very interesting and he was very clear. Just pay attention to the videos and read the articles he assigns. Other than that the exams are fairly easy if you study your notes.
Don't by the book. Record the lectures and take notes. Must attend everyday. I have never laughed so much in each lecture. He's great and teaches the material with a lot of clarity.
HE IS FREAKIN AWESOME. MADE A SUPER HIGH A. SUPER FUNNY AND ENGAGING. EXPLAINS EVERYTHING CLEARLY. GIVE THIS MAN A RAISE!!!!
Great teacher, awesome lectures. TAKE HIS CLASS, you won't regret it. Attendance is a MUST!
I enjoyed the class! The Professor is hilarious and makes economics entertaining. It is important to show up to class b/c the exams are based off of the notes. He does curve the exams. You will never be bored in class.I totally recommend taking this professor.
Give this man a RAISE!!. I had no interest in Macroeconomics before this guy, but this guy makes economics fun. He worked for the Federal Reserve and has tons of useless facts about currency that make you think critically. Currency intertwined with history. If you take a class with Professor Wehr you'll think learning is fun. Enough said.
Had to work VERY hard for my B. Scatter-brained, Doesn't go in any chapter order, flies through the material way too quickly, makes weird scenarios up that will be test questions, only 3 tests for entire grade, tests=50 MC 5 fill in the blank (in a 50 minute class) He is very nice, but his teaching style is ridiculous. IF YOU SKIP YOU FAIL.
I LOVED this class. The professor is great. He makes the class very interesting and he engages with the students. I will be taking him for 2305 and also for 3348! take him.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! Not a single boring day went by in his class - he's funny (tells stories), nice, and cares about his students. His tests can be a bit challenging, but if you study your notes, you'll do fine. With that said, attendance isn't "mandatory" but it is IMPORTANT to attend his class because tests are 90%+ based off notes. MUST-TAKE!
One of the best professors I've had. 3 exams make the total grade. I took it as a maymester class, and he was able to keep everyone's interest. I highly suggest taking this class to anyone that needs an elective. Just attend class & take notes. Don't buy the book (he tells you not to). There are chances for bonus points on short answer questions
Really cool guy, obviously knows his stuff and is really passionate about what he does. However, I couldn't follow his lectures. I barely made a D in the class because I felt like it was unorganized and there wasn't enough test prep. Everything is based off his lecture so take really good notes and make sure you go to class everyday.
Best econ teacher i have had he keeps it interesting and i recommend him to everyone he isnt a boring lecturer and he is very helpful His test are not too difficult as long as you show up to class most of the answers will come from lectures buying the book was pointless. you only get 3 test and a 4th optional one if u need it
Didn't care for econ before the class, but I found each and every one of his lectures interesting. Funny in a "dad joke" kind of way, very energetic, made the class fun. Attendance and in-depth notes are a must, tests aren't easy but not too difficult. Just about everything you need comes from the lecture. Will definitely take him again.
Very cool and funny guy, he teaches as best as any other teacher. Can get an easy B in the class and with some effort an A. Just go to class and take notes and you'll be golden.
His class was hard for me. Taking notes would not help you on the test because he didn't stay on topic with his lecture. While his stories were interesting, trying to learn on my own with the book was hard, even with a tutor it was hard.
He is one of the best professors I have ever had. His lectures are amazingly fun and funny. He really tries to keep the class upbeat and interesting. His tests are a little tough. It's not necessarily an easy A, but if you work for it you can do it. He also is more lenient on bumping up grades than some professors I have had.
Great professor! Tests are tough but there are only three so not much work other than studying for the exams. The attendance is needed to pass the class. Take detailed notes during class and study them and you'll make a good grade.
Great professor! I highly recommend him. His lectures are never boring and you can tell he loves what he does. He's always in a good mood. No HW, only 3-4 tests. He doesn't post notes on blackboard so you have to attend class! However, his lectures will want you to attend anyway.
AMAZING PROFESSOR! Looked forward to his lectures, but must be very detailed in note taking. Has 4 tests, but drops one in the end. Offers extra credit throughout the semester, and usually curves a little on the tests. No homework. You must WORK for your grade, not an easy class but a great professor! I will be taking him again for ECON 3388! :)
His lectures are interesting and pretty funny. The tests are mostly straightforward from the lecture notes excluding the questions from the articles. The article questions are very nitpicky and unless you memorize them you most likely wont know the answer (not worth the time honestly).
Great proff! Will take again for 2306 class is full (of course). He is like the diamond in the rough here at UTA. I made an A in the class and attended class 34 of the semester. Love love him.
Good professor for a boring class. He is very comedic, but sometimes hard to follow. He does discuss everything you will be tested over, so the book is not too important. I read the first few chapters and literally lost it. Must take detailed notes and study them! I made an A but I am OCD about studying. Hard, but possible. Taking for 2306. STUDY!
Professor Wehr has approximate knowledge of everything, he is like a comedic Walter White. Often it seems he goes off on irrelevant tangents, but be prepared for that material to be on the tests. I took this class as a minimester. Definitely recommend.
My favorite professor, ever. The lectures are long, and the material can be tough, but he makes it as interesting as he can. Great at providing stories and real life examples to accompany material. He is hard to reach by email, but stays after class to answer any questions students have. Must attend class to learn for exams but book isn't needed.
Wow! What can i say about this professor? HE'S JUST THE BEST OF GOD! HE'S SO GOOD! I TOOK HIM 2 CLASSES AND MADE BOTH A's. You will have to attend to his class to do well. He makes life easier. i just love it. love his jokes and everything. i would love to take him over and over and over again! his exams seem pretty hard if you don't study.
Funny guy. He makes Econ and interesting subject. Don't buy the book. He barely goes over anything in the book. Save your money. Pay attention in class. Write good notes. You will make an A.
This class has been my favorite! Definitely would take his class again. Two tests and a Final, One group project. Show up to class everyday and take notes there is no way why you shouldn't pass this class. There is a lot of time you need to put into it.
I dont know why everyone says hes so easy. I took great notes studied and barely managed to get a C that was my first C ever! Although his stories are interesting and he is very passionate funny and knowledgeable of what he's teaching his way of teaching was different the exams are based on the lectures and sometimes what he said didnt make sense
Wehr is so passionate about Econ! He does get off topic, but it always leads back to Econ. I don't know how he does it, but he does. Lectures are very entertaining. A very funny guy. He's had so much influence on me, because of him I've decided to major in Econ. Tips for an A, take detailed notes, record the lectures, and go to the SI sessions .
I never enjoyed economics until I took his class, it was always just something that I had to do. The way Prof. Wehr explained the subjects and how he broke them down from multiple perspectives really helped. I hope I can take more of his classes in the future! :)
I think he's a great professor. He makes economics interesting and if you attend most classes, you should be set. His tests are mostly from the lecture but he does a review before the test that is helpful. I'm taking him again definitely.
He is a good professor in that his lectures are interesting and you stay engaged even though economic is not that exciting to me. YOU HAVE TO GO TO CLASS!! He tells you hints for the exams and the final ended up being more about specific dates rather than supply/demand graphs.
Great prof, keeps you interested and engaged. Plus during Thanksgiving he gives out treats! Tests are challenging but not overly so. I would love to take another class with him.
Great professor with great Attitude. Go to class and take notes, take in mind everything he says. Test are pretty hard, you need to know the material in order to pass. Don't worry if you do poorly on a test, there are multiple opportunities to get extra credit. He really is a extraordinary professor. Textbook in my opinion wasnt needed.
Mr. Wehr is hilarious and makes Economics an interesting subject, even when it really isn't. Class is Easy and if you show up and do the extra credit you should pass with flying colors
He was my favorite professor this semester!! He is makes econ so fun, and he is ALWAYS in a great mood! Tests are pretty tough, but there are only 3. He does give extra credit, so make sure you do all of extra credit he gives out! Go to class(very VITAL) and go to SI sessions if you want an A.
3 exams plus an optional that replaces your lowest grade. Go to class, study notes and you will be fine. (Don't need the book, but if you need extra help it will help) Gives many extra credit opportunities. He sometimes goes off topic a little, but he's funny.
Good lecturer, tests are challenging but doable. He doesn't grade on a curve but there are many opportunities for xc. He doesn't return your emails so you have to seek help in person.
Exams are worth a lot other than that there is no extra work and the professor is extremely nice
Professor Wehr is extremely passionate about Economics. If you don't think you're interested in Economics now you will definitely be after you take his course. You don't too much need the book just go to class and take really good notes, the exams will be solely based off of them. Do the extra credit he assigns! Not easy A but totally worth it!
Funny guy, makes his lectures interesting and gets students involved. Three tests, no group work. Even gave out prizes and candy on Christmas and had special lectures on Thanksgiving and Halloween! He tells you what's on the test and that's a good thing because he sometimes goes off topic and tells a story. Definitely would take again.
Professor Wehr was a very clear cut and understanding professor. Gives many chances for extra credit on each of his 3 tests. If you come to his class everyday and take good notes then you will pass without a doubt. SN: He's kind of like a stand up comedian, not always funny but very interesting. I'd take his class again.
I loved Professor Wehr's class! He gave a lot of extra credit opportunities and was willing to help out if needed. What helped me the most was going to the SI sessions! GO TO THEM! He also curves, so don't be let down if you do bad. I improved on my scores as the class progressed and got an A!
Amazing professor for transportation economics.
Wow, I took this guy for macroeconomics and he was such a change from my tough micro class. I wish I took him for micro, I really do. He's so funny and he just wants the best for his students. He genuinely cares and his class is a great environment. Lecture based tests, but attending class isn't even a chore.
One of the best teachers I've had. He's super funny and more than willing to help you out. Tests are pretty easy if you pay attention in lecture. There's nothing bad to say about him. If you have to take economics, try to take him if you can.
First off let me say, if you take BSTAT 3321 in the same semester as this class, it'll be very convenient as he covers lots of statistical theories. He is extremely knowledgeable in economics, and this is the only class where I enjoy the lecture. 3 tests make up your entire grade (unless you do an optional paper), but take notes and you'll be fine.
Make sure to ask questions because it will be used in the next lectures. I HIGHLY recommend going to the SI sessions, it saved me. Don't wait to go to them at the end of the semester. It will be hard for you if you don't have a book/don't take good notes. The man himself is so nice and funny, but he moves too quickly for one to grasp the info.
I've taken him for transportation econ, intermediate micro, and european history econ. Seriously the BEST professor I have ever had. Makes the subject easy. Super funny and class is not boring at all. The exams are easy as long as you take good notes and read it over once before exam. He'll question you about the most random material. Also, easy A.
If you are looking to take an Economics class then this is your guy. Professor Wehr is very helpful, and cares for his students. He gives a ton of extra credit. Tests are hard, but if you study then its an easy A. Extra credit helps a lot. There are 2 tests, and a final There is also an optional test for which can be taken to replace lowest test
Awesome professor, really makes you enjoy the lecture. His class can be hard, especially since the class is only 3 tests, but due to their being alot of extra credit its manageable.
Mr. Wehr makes the class more interesting with his great sense of humor. Economics is not my strong suit but he make it easier to comprehend the materials. I feel like I've learned a lot from his class. He's one of the best professors I've taken. I would love to take his class again. Unfortunately, I am a marketing major.
Awesome class. Made lectures interesting and completely powerpoint free. Didn't use the book at all, just went to class and did the recommended work.
he cares
He is funny and his extra credit was really nice. Told a lot of stories about his life
Roger's macro has tough tests, however he gives plenty of extra credit to make an A attainable. His lectures are interesting and he is somewhat of a comedian.
Great teacher, gives plenty of extra credit so you should be able to do fine. He is a really funny guy so he makes class extremely interesting. Just go over the notes before the test and you'll fo fine
He is the best professor i ever had in my Undergraduate and i am a very average student. I thought the test were gonna be easy but NO! They are very hard but if you show up for class everyday and take notes of everything and go through them, you can also get an A. His classes are so fun that you would never want to miss it.
NO homework and no mandatory attendence, but lectures are awesome. Comedy in the class. Best teaching skills. Exams are conceptual. Should attend his classes because exam depends on his lectures.
Excellent prof! He knows his material very well and makes lectures amusing. His tests are lecture-based, & he offers LOTS of extra credit. Anyone should be able to pass as long as they attend class. Also, I just used the 3-week trial online to do all of my EC assignments. I sent Prof. Wehr screenshots of the completed assignments & he counted it.
Show up to class! Take really concise lecture notes, learn different forms of bulleting ( for notetaking ). It's an easy class if you review your notes carefully, plenty of extra credit to boost your score. Please start studying ahead of time and don't procrastinate.
Prof Wehr is THE BEST prof I've ever had! He is hilarious but most importantly, he's clear with what he's teaching and what's gonna be on the test. As long as you go to all the classes, take good notes, you'll be good. He'll make you not want to miss any of his class. I wish I could take him again in the future.
Roger Wehr is super funny! I loved his lectures. Please be sure to come to class and take good notes and study them. Has multiple extra credit opportunities. The final had pretty easy questions (What is your professor's name?). Can get off topic telling jokes. Also could get mixed up with other classes and skip things he thought he went over.
Easy A. But if you won't really leave his class having learned a lot. If you want an easy A take him, otherwise there are better professors out there, especially if you're an economics major you want a better foundation course than this guy provides.
Awesome hilarious professor!! Easy A. Study the lectures and reviews and you're good. Gives out a lot of extra credit and theres an optional test after the final to replace your lowest test grade. Wish he was my professor for all my classes.
AMAZING professor, and always adds random facts and stories to the lectures to make them interesting. I took his class Fall 2016 and there were only three tests, including the final. There's no homework, so study hard for those tests (they're tough). Also, he gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities which helps a lot with your grade.
Never teaches off of PowerPoints. All information is given through lectures, nothing is loaded to Blackboard, so have to go to class. He does give credit and will work with you so you can get the grade you want. Some of the exam questions are pulled from his textbook and he doesn't cover that material in class. Gives extra credit for buying book.
Just show up to class, take notes, study those notes and you'll get an A. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIS SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS.
MacroEcon is a class i was required to take but I'm glad I took it with this guy. He is hilarious, expect a lot of dad jokes. He teaches the material in a way that is easy to understand, simplifies and makes the concepts relateable. He is willing to answer any questions you have. Easy extra credit opportunities. Great professor.
Excellent teacher with great sense of humor. He knows what he is teaching, without using powerpoints and gives a lot of real life examples of the concepts. MyEconLab and textbook isn't absolutely necessary, but he gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. You cannot fail the class unless you want to.
I've taken his class for European Economic History and now I'm almost done with his class for Economics of Transportation. I cannot recommend this professor enough. No book required. Take notes on his lectures (which are hilarious and interesting) and study them, you'll make an easy A.
Best teacher ever. I'm a STEM person and don't usually learn other subjects well. With hilarious, high-spirited lectures, Prof. Wehr has made this class one of my favorites ever. The only grades are 3 exams but he gives a ton of extra credit so its really hard to fail. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you go, he covers everything in class you need
Gives clear grading criteria which are three exams for whole course. No powerpoints, just show up to lectures and study those notes, and its an easy A. Funny lectures, curves and attendance is not mandatory.
Class is mandatory but it is never boring. You can use your textbook as reference but not necessary.
Funny and very genuine guy No book, his notes are essential. He does give extra credit. DO THEM! He does curve. He cares about you so he'll make sure you pass. He's not great with email so its better to catch him on campus or call his home. I took him for ECON 2305 and ECON 3328. TAKE HIM for as many classes as you can.
Professor Wehr is just awesome, the the best Econ professor, hands down. Take him for all of your Econ classes, you won't regret it. Tons of extra credit totaling 18 points and an easy A-take good notes(write down everything he says as he'll test over the most smallest detail). Extremely hilarious, fun lectures, never wanted to miss class at all!!!
His classes were never boring and he has this dad humor that is really funny. He's extremely nice and caring and he gives a boatload of extra credit points that help boost your overall grade by 18 points. NO TEXTBOOK required, just take really detailed notes and you'll get an easy A. His tests were somewhat tough as they were conceptual than theory
Roger teaches class by giving real life examples to make the material clear to learn. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunity making it impossible to fail unless you want to. His exams questions are directly from his lecture, so be sure to take good notes. Textbook and econlab is not necessary, unless you need it for extra points on all exams!
I had Prof Wehr for a maymester class and it was a breeze. He's such a funny "dad type" guy. I think he does a great job of simplifying material for non-econ majors and overall has very interesting lectures. I never skipped class because of the limited number of classes, but I wouldn't have wanted to miss any of the great lectures anyway.
I took Prof Wehr's class during the summer semester. It was super easy if you study he gave 3 test and an optional fourth test. He gives opportunities for extra credit. You will not need the book so don't buy it. Test questions come directly from the lectures so attend class. He curved every single test we took, one test he curved by 12 points!
I took Dr. Wehr for Transportation economics. The guy is hilarious to a point that it is almost a downfall in that you don't realize he is talking about economics anymore. You think he is just telling a story but he is discussing an economic theory. Either way he is very smart and you really should take his class if you want to learn economics.
Imagine Ned Flanders but really funny.....
Great professor! Makes the class very interesting by providing real life examples. Lots of material to study. Provides lots of extra credit. Easy A. Textbook is not required.
Professor Wehr is amazing, lot of wisdom. He takes time so your question is answered, humor comes naturally in his lectures. Keep up with your notes, and his tests are not as hard as most of the class, who don't study till the night of the exam, claim it to be. Extra credit opportunities. Happy I got to experience his lectures, going to miss it!
I recommend taking any econ class with professor wehr. He is simply awesome! He always incorporates jokes into his lectures and offers up to 18 points on test grades for extra credit (6 pts for the overall grade in the class as the grade is 3 tests). He also gives an optional 4th test to replace your lowest test grade if you want to take it.
For an econ class Wehr is the best professor you can take. He makes the class fun and enjoyable his tests are a little hard though
He is one of the best professors at UTA. Attempts to make class entertaining and has some pretty funny stories. His test are kinda hard but if you attend class and do the review, they aren't that bad. He has offers a few extra credit opportunities throughout the semester so watch out for those as well. Other than that I would 100% take him again.
Only 3 grades: Test 1, 2, & the Final. You can take a 4th test to replace your lowest test grades. Sometimes it's hard to follow him as he goes off on many tangents, however, he is hilarious & if you listen & take good notes (go to class), you should do pretty well. The tests are HARD & you have to *really* study for them. Lots of extra credit.
3 tests are the whole grading criteria. Plenty of extra credit available and curves to get the A.
He helped me realize I love econ. He has hilarious jokes that make his lectures entertaining. Lot of writing notes in class,it will be overwhelming at first. His tests aren't easy, but if you write and memorize all your notes and his study guides, you will do fine with curves and extra credit. I'm really going to miss his lectures :(
Great professor and very understanding. Tests are a little diffficult but if you study enough you can do well. Gives opportunity for extra credit and almost always gives extra points on exams.
Just got one sentence to say. Absolutely the best professor in ECON in UTA! I mean just look at the other reviews. Do take him for a wonderful college experience.
He is a great professor and an easy grader. The best professor for ECON in UTA!
Hands down, the best professor I had in my entire college life. His lectures are so practical and understandable that even if you are not an Econ major , it will motivate you to go to class everyday and pay attention. Make sure you take notes of everything he says . I repeat EVERYTHING ! no books needed if you pay attention in class .
I took Professor Wehr for a wintermester class and it was a great experience! Highly recommend this course if you're needing a business elective. There's two tests, a final, and an optional paper if you need help boosting your grade. The tests are straight forward and come directly from lectures and assigned articles. Pay attention to his lectures.
Took him over the winter break and he's def the best professor i've had at UTA. He's really funny and such a nice guy. He makes learning fun and doesn't let his students get burnt out. Take notes of every little thing he says he tests your listening skills. We had 3 tests and some extra credit and also an optional paper.
One of the best professors. He's a dad at heart. His test were simple and I thought I understood the material but my raw score was a B. With his curve and all the extra credit I was easily pushed up. His lectures are very entertaining and he keeps the material very easy. The test are based of what he teaches in class, not too many curve balls.
Very clear lecture, and he makes sure you understand if you reach out to him. Very friendly, offers a curve on some tests and plenty of extra credit.
Easily the nicest professor i've ever had. Tests aren't too challenging, extra credit ensures a good grade. I did alright with very little prior knowledge about Econ. He should be your first choice
4 tests you have to take and an optional test that replaces the lowest grade. Gives plenty of extra credit. Hilarious - I actually enjoyed going to class. Deficiently recommend.
Prof Wehr was my favorite professor this semester! He is honestly funny and down to earth. His jokes sometimes are a set up to easily explain concepts so it is important to be there because he dumbs it down to where you really understand. His tests are OK, not nearly as bad as they could be. He has one optional test, but I didn't need it.
Take him! The lectures are fun. You still have to study hard, but he give huge curve on exams. Two exams, one final, and one optional exam (replace low test grade). The optional exam really pulled my grade up by a letter grade, so take advantage of this opportunity! Buy MyEconlab for extra credit, you don't need textbook.
Drinking game: drink every time he he says did I tell you this, what do you think, yes or no?, or just tells a funny story unrelated to class. You wont make it. That being said, hes a fun instructor that actually wants everyone to pass his classes. Lots of tricks to help you remember concepts. Ive taken him twice and would take him again.
Hands down, would take again in the blink of an eye. Class was extremely enjoyable. Only advice if you tryna take his Maymester, SHOW UP TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES ON EVERY DAMN THING.
He is the most humble and caring professor i have ever had in UTA. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Tests are easy as long as you took notes and he offers tons of different ways to boost up your grades. Even though classes were about 4 hours everyday in Maymester, they will go in a breeze because of his hilarious lectures.
Amazing lectures, never missed a class. One of the best professors at UTA.
Very easy grader and gives tons of extra credit especially at the end of the semester. His lectures are hilarious and makes answers on the test easy to remember. You will make an A if you show up to class every day and take good notes.
He's awesome. He tries to make the material very interesting and gives a lot of great anecdotes that stick to your head and makes you learn without realizing it. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Make sure to take notes during class because that is EXACTLY what will be on the tests, so don't skip the class.
He is one of the best Professor I ever had at UTA. He is so humble and supports you to get the good grades. He gives a bunch of an extra credit. His lectures are so useful in the real world and will always be in your mind.
Professor Wehr really does his best to get you to not only understand the material, but to do well in his class. He literally tells you the exact type of problems he will give you (and how much they will be worth so you know if you want to study for it). He tries his best to make class interesting and always relates the material to a funny story.
very good professor . Gives out lots of extra credit throughout semester. Writes everything on board. Makes class interesting by using business examples and humor. Optional test at end if needing to replace a test grade. Tells you what is on test .
Very funny and humble teacher. Goes a little fast, but as long as you take good notes, you're good. Three exams and 4th optional exam that you can take to drop lowest exam grade. Exams are little bit tough so it requires thorough study of the notes but he has butt load of extra credit that helps out a lot. Take him!
Mr. Wehr is a great professor! His lectures are a little fast, so theyre hard to follow sometimes. However, hes always very good about answering questions and making sure you understand the content. The tests are fair: not easy but not too hard. He also gives LOTS of extra credit if you have the textbook and do the homework. Take him if you can!
His lectures are very loosely related to the material on the three(fourth optional) tests. Learning ALL the material is nigh impossible. You will find yourself at a disadvantage if you don't buy the online textbook that has the code for the extra credit. It is very much needed. Professor also gets off track a lot, wasting class time for stories.
Roger is a great professor. His lessons are always entertaining and relatable, and always include only what is on the test (tough sometimes he throws in some funny stories). His class contained 3 tests that were 1/3 of the grade (one was the final). But he offers so much easy extra credit that you could raise each test a letter grade at least.
The best professor I've had at UTA so far. It is obvious professor Wehr loves his jobs and his students. He always has such a great attitude and zest for life. He is very engaging and gives a great lecture that is entertaining, yet knowledgeable and relevant. This class is by no means easy, but professor Wehr is very good lecturer! 10/10 recommend
Roger Wehr is amazing! Take him! He provides reviews for the exams. Buy the textbook and MyEcon Lab. They'll totally prepare you for the exams. It's a good idea to attend his lectures because he'll tell stories that will really help you remember some of the concepts and he's just an amazing lecturer overall. You won't regret it.
Hes a really great professor with extra credit and 3 test w/ optional 4th, anyone that complains saying that his stories distracting them and didnt learn anything are the ones that failed because they arent paying attention to the man. Genuinely awkward but funny.
The tests could really get us but he provides many extra credits opportunities.
He is a wonderful lecturer! Does not use PowerPoint which is hard to adjust to but gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. BUY THE BOOK, he gives you 6 points per test and more if you do the incentive hw. If you do, 70% turns into an A easy. Only graded on 3 tests, 4th test is optional
GO TO CLASS, his lectures are definitely worth showing up for! His lectures are entertaining and funny, and he's honestly just a really nice guy in general. His tests can be tricky, but as long as you buy the textbook and get the extra credit you'll come out with an A or B a the end of the semester. Hands down Wehr is an amazing professor.
Simply, the best ever
If you are a transfer student to UTA like myself this class is a good review of Macro before you dig deep into Micro concepts. Prof. Wehr holds hilarious lectures with real impact on how you view the material. One of a kind professor. Grades fairly and if you pay attention in class you will fair well. Digital textbook.
Has amazing lectures and will make you laugh for sure. Always incorporates interesting and funny examples that help explain the topics. 3 exams and 1 optional exam to replace lowest one. Take thorough notes since exams are over lecture. Exams are bit difficult but lots of extra credit given (buy the econlab). Took him for 2305 as well last semester
Wish I could take him for every class, he's absolutely hilarious! The topics can be confusing sometimes, but he always explains difficult topics with funny examples that are hard to forget. Also, he gives out A LOT of extra credit. Best way to study for the exams is to look over notes only stuff from the lectures are on the exam.
Great mix of funny professor (lot of 'Dad' jokes) with an extensive knowledge of Economics. Wehr probably has 3 or 4 ways to explain any topic so if you don't understand something ask him about it. Adds extra credit based on homework completion, curves grades, drops lowest test and doesn't take attendance. Go to lecture though, he's entertaining
I loved loved loved taking his class. Low key sad its over. Everyone should take him!
Dr. Wehr was probably one of my favorite professors I have ever had. He is so funny and he really makes you understand the material. He gives you extra credit and he allows you to take another optional test to replace your lowest grade. He is honestly a great teacher so if you can take him I highly recommend it.
Everything youve read is absolutely true hes one of the best professors Ive taken. The only negatives are he teaches statistics and probability material, which is cool, but 95% of it is unrelated. I took him for a maymester course so Im not sure if that the reason, but he didnt respond to a single students email, which is really frustrating.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He offers tons of extra credit if you go to class and do the optional homework. He wants you to pass his class so make an effort! He provides clear and real-life examples of everything in his lectures. Makes econ fun and understandable! Tests are a little difficult unless you attend all lectures.
Get ready for dad jokes! He's amazing! He's super knowledgeable about what he teaches and has 20+ teaching experience. Go to lecture and take good notes. SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT! 3 exams and optional final. Study the review he gives and you'll do great! Best econ professor at UTA.
He's a funny guy, no real homework just get the test questions from the book and that is it. The lectures are heavy and have a lot of material and a lot of paper handouts that are on the test. The tests were pretty easy as long as you attend lecture and read the notes.
lecture is where most of the information is learned so dont skip class and take good notes. He is really funny and has a way of teaching the material that really helps you understand it. He offers many extra credit opportunities so take advantage since your grade will likely be composed of 3 tests.
He is really nice, but he handed to many handouts and this course is really test heavy. He only curves your grades if you buy his e-book.
His lectures have NO POWERPOINT SLIDES which I think is a pretty good thing it makes it more on you to pay attention and it makes his lectures more interesting. You get 6 extra credit points on each exam for owning the book and more for doing hw. There are 3 exams and a 4th optional make-up exam that can also replace a bad score. It's an easy A.
Best professor hands down. Makes the material easy to digest and interesting. Lots of extra credit and is an awesome grader.
Roger Wehr is amazing!! He cares about all his students and hes so funny in his lectures with his dad jokes he's a real king and he provides a TON of extra credit so take advantage!!! Best econ professor at UTA for sure!!!
Best Econ professor. Soooo charismatic I had a 9 AM and he'd wake me right up. BUY! THE! BOOK! Online book & hw gives u so much extra credit it boosts you at least a letter grade. The online hw also helps review & prepare for the test so much. Attend class and take notes and he gives a test review that helps. I suck at Econ but I made an A+ !!
Wehr is one of the best instructors at UTA. Hes super energetic and you can tell he truly cares about economics and his students. During COVID-19 he held regular Team meetings, 3 times a week, and was always available to students who needed help. Really funny and interesting man. Very solid choice!
He doesn't post material, not necessarily because he doesn't want to, he's just not tech-savvy, but he explains a lot in class so definitely attend. I sometimes had a hard time focusing because he is very energetic, but overall, with his exam reviews you should do fine in his class. BUT GO TO HIS CLASS OR YOU WON'T PASS. Get the book for extra cred
So if you need to take ECON at UTA he is the BEST CHOICE of them all. Dude his energy lights up the whole room - you wont fall asleep and thats forsure! He provides LOTS of extra credit take advantage - BUY book and do homework. I honestly dont know my grade yet but I know I passed - a A is extremely possible.. I didnt try hard enough.. Best Vibes!
Professor Wehr is one of my favorite professors. His lectures are hilarious and helps concepts stick through that method. I advise you to attend every lecture because you might miss out on a good chunk of information if you miss one day. He also gives out a lot of extra credit.
The absolute BEST econ professor at UTA. He teaches in way that keeps you thoroughly engaged. Prepares you very well for the exams. Make sure you buy the Textbook and do the Homework Incentives before the each exams to receive bonus points on your exam grade. Do not skip class, you will miss lots of info!
TAKE ROGER WEHR! He has entertaining and informative lectures where he will emphasize what you need to know, he relates economic trends and concepts with current events and is generous with extra credit opportunities.
He's a good teacher who tries to keep class light. While his jokes might be bad, he does what he can to express the material in ways that make sense. During the quarantine he made videos for every single lesson and the videos were super helpful. His tests are super easy but he goes over everything and grades fairly. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN
I was a person who never really got economics until I took his class. I had him for a night class and was surprisingly excited to go every time. He makes his lectures fun and explains everything clearly. What helped me the most was him briefing last class topics at the beginning of every class. Test were easy after studying & offers extra credit.
Professor Wehr is really nice, and is very understanding. I just finished his Maymester course and really enjoyed it. He will usually post recorded lectures if taking it online so attendance isn't mandatory. Just pay close attention to lecture and write down everything unless he specifically says not to worry about it. Email him if you get lost!
This professor was a true gem! The lectures were detailed and made enjoyable with his specific type of dad humor and rants on interesting bits of outside information relevant to the class. Attend lecture but if you have the option opt for watching them online as you can skip the review portion that's in some of the lecture. The tests are easy!
So, he / a decent professor. His grading is a bit unclear and he for some reason cannot figure out the technology and he just doesnt care to be honest. His grading is very nice, but you need to get the book if you want a significant point boost for his class. Its a bit of a PTW system.
amazing
He is one of the funniest, caring, and best professor out there. He is the type of professor you will need in your life. He made the class fun, his humor and personality is engaging and overall he does a pretty job teaching the subject. If you take him you will guarantee a good grade in that class. Do take him if you have a chance its worth it.
He is a very kind teacher, loves when the students are involved and responsive with his lectures. PAY ATTENTION to the lectures cause that's what all the exams are based on. getting the book and doing the homework was for extra credit. a great teacher overall
He's literally the best professor you can ask for. His lectures are so funny and you learn so much from his class and he also gives out so much extra credit! You literally get extra credit if you buy your textbook. He makes econ so much easier and fun! Do the homeworks, go to his class and pay attention in his class and you will definitely get an A
Wehr is awesome - take good notes from lectures and you'll do fine. He's one of those people you just know is a good person. Lectures are entertaining with his humor and random trivia thrown in. Grades the optional extra credit paper very lenient, basically a free 10% boost to your grade. I've taken him 3 times now, highly recommend!
Taking ECON 2305 with this professor was a blast! Each and every lecture was fun, engaging and filled with excitement! He provides a lot of extra credit, so you don't have to worry about being behind. Before each test (3 total test), he provides a non-mandatory test incentive that you can take that will give you an extra 10 points to your test!
I can honestly say he's the best professor I've had and wish I could've taken his class in person. Somehow miraculously makes learning econ enjoyable to the point where I want to buy his book recommendations and watch his lectures purely for entertainment purposes. Truly comedy at its peak.
One of the best professors at UTA. He's understanding, hilarious, and knows how to keep the class engaged. Lots of extra credit opportunities. The questions from his tests were all based on his lectures, so I would highly recommend watching his lectures and taking good notes if you wanna pass. Overall grade is based on exams only though.
Wehr is one of the best at UTA, if you have a chance to take him, I would recommend. He had very interesting lectures and was very interactive. Open book, open note exams with questions pooled from his lectures as well as the book. If you put in some effort, it's a relatively easy A. Take good lecture notes and print out his handouts.
Best econ professor at UTA, and I love every single professor at UTA
A true legend. Even though I dont like video classrooms I ended up watching every recording. Hes very funny and cares about the students and wanted us to get good grades. Lots of opportunities for extra credit.
He was a very easy going teacher who gave lots of extra credit. I took him for a summer class and it was an easy A. I only had 3 test but with the amount of extra credit he gave just there is no way anyone could fail.
Professor Wehr is very caring and wants ALL of his students to succeed. His lectures are very engaging and he is very knowledgeable. One of the best professors in the College of Business. Would definitely recommend anyone to take him, you won't regret it!
Economics was not easy for me to grasp! Professor Wehr made the class so easy though! His lectures on teams were hilarious but very informative. The class is test heavy but he gives tons of extra credit to the point that there is no way to fail. Best professor at UTA I have had! Take him!
Tons of material on the tests, not open book, and your entire grade is 3 tests and an optional paper. It's a tough class, but the guy is funny, super nice, and a great teacher. Study everything, though.
Lectures are really great. Never miss his class, if you attend his class and listen properly, you may really get an A easily. He is he best professor i have ever come across. I would happily take one economic course every semester and choose him as m professor.
3 test only, 2 museum extra credit, & an optional 5-page paper. Hardest class Ive ever taken. His test are LECTURE heavy, read WSJ articles he tells you, & listen to every nonsense he has to say b/c it may be on the test. Write down EVERYTHING even examples he gives you. I dont recommend taking him tho, hes nice but his test are DIFFICULT. *cry*
Amazing professor you can tell he really cares about his students! Listen to every detail during lecture even to the things you might not think are important. Hes hilarious which makes class enjoyable. He gives out lots of extra credit aswell
Awesome Teacher with great lectures. Really funny and always ready to help.
He's a very good lecturer and knows how to keep the class engaged. He makes Econ much more enjoyable and gives plenty of extra credit opportunities.
Kind person, funny, but horrible lecturer. He says the most random things ever, don't believe the positive reviews, it may seem easy to the previous students that took him because it was online, but in person is definitely not it.
He keeps his class entertaining with his lectures. He gives extra credit for every midterm. Homework is optional and so is the book. Midterms are the only things that determine your grade.
The guy is hilarious. Totally keeps you engaged. Tells great stories that (sometimes) connect to the material but tests are literally just whatever he writes on the board (or straight up tells you). No textbook necessary! His tests are a bit unconventional but he gives tons of extra credit and grades super easy. Definitely take him.
3 exams, including final, but all with very nice curves. Very caring professor. Most of the exam is based off lecture, with a few pulled from the textbook, but lets you know what they will be ahead of time. Gives handouts with the main information. Extra credit paper. Honestly, just show up (or use teams) and pay attention and you will be fine.
He is a good prof for an elective as there is no way you fail. If you do all the extra credit and pass all the exams you should get at least a B and Likely and A. Its not an easy A where you can just sit there and listen but if you take notes and do the extra credit you should get an A. He is very entertaining and makes taking notes easy.
He is a real gem. Took this for Business elective, and this class was refreshing. Loved his lectures, was very engaging. The lectures are based on current events, and the grading is primarily through 3 tests evenly weighted. You can also do a paper for 10% of it. Also, Extra credit for visiting a transportation museum, just upload a picture.
The BEST PROFESSOR one could ever ask for. He's very knowledgeable, EASY-GOING, and downright HILARIOUS. Despite the fact you could attend online, It was a pleasure going in-person bc he's that fun to be around. Just make sure to PAY ATTENTION to his LECTURES and do the practice problems that he posted on canvas and on Pearson MyLabEconomics.
Roger Wehr is by far one of the best lecturers on UTA campus. Actually shows passion for what he teaches. The type of professor to keep explaining until the class is ready to move on, DONT BE AFRAID TO SPEAK UP! hes there to help you grasp the material. The exams are lecture + WSJ based. Master the examples he teaches and you got it.
He is the best teacher I ever had, I have his signature now in my office that he gave during a extra credit event. I took him for all my Econ classes at UTA and he is the best teacher at UTA.
Simply the best, wish every professor was like Roger Wehr. I chose'3' as the difficulty level since I had not bought the textbook, but with it, it's probably just a 2 since the textbook has H/W which boosts your grade. And also, pay attention to every little thing he says, sometimes his explanation gets intertwined with the jokes.
Have had this professor for 2 classes - you REALLY need to both attend lectures AND read the book. His test questions are about 50% of each. I found his lectures very enjoyable because he is friendly, high energy and positive, and for 1 class he even gave us study sheets to fill out during lecture. If you do these two things, you will do very well.
Professor Wehr is my favorite teacher at UTA, he gives interesting lectures and his only grades are three tests. Write good notes bc he might let you use them on tests. He lets us mark out test questions and write our own when we don't know the answer. He isn't very organized though and gives out a lot of handouts. Its a lot of info but just study.
I love this professor and have taken him previously, but he did lack a bit this semester. This class is just him reading handouts that are just full of words words WORDS. Some handouts will be weird little drawings that he does that we have to understand somehow lol. He's a really nice and funny guy but I wish we were allowed notes for ALL tests.
He is an amazing professor! Going to class is enjoyable and you can tell he clearly cares about his students.
so he is a good professor but it really is set up pay to win. You have to buy hw and the textbook for extra credit. that being said he gives a lot of extra credit so it is not hard to pass. He tends to ramble a lot in lecture about a bunch of other subjects. Wish the extra credit was accessible to everyone and not based on buying a textbook.
Amazing lectures. Goes over subjects multiple times and always asks if he needs to re explain. Extremely entertaining lectures. The only grades are exams, but they are absolutely full of extra credit
Even though the attendance wasn't mandatory, make sure to attend lectures and pay attention for good grades as 90 percent of his tests are based on lectures and there's also many extra credit assignments. You get 6 extra points on all your tests as your textbook is already charged on your tuition plus if you do the homework incentive you get more.
He's a great professor and really knows how to convey difficult topics to students. He emphasizes doing the hw because the book/hw are pretty much the tests (along with his lectures). Students complain about how he isn't available online outside of class (like emails) so it's definitely a good idea to show up during office hours for extra help.
Roger Wehr is the guy to take. He is hilarious and you can tell he is genuinely passionate about European history. To do well, I would make sure to take plenty of notes because there are some small things he throws in during lectures that will be on the exam. He would take a while to send out handouts which kind of stressed me out. Highly recommend
Fantastic! You really have to go to class if you want to learn. Take diligent notes and participate in class and you should be good as gold. He makes microeconomics a very fun, lively activity. He balances his lectures between content and anecdotes perfectly. The textbook is unnecessary, as he has very effective mnemonics to make the content stick.
I took Professor Wehr in the Spring 2022 semester. He was seriously an amazing professor with amazing lectures. His tests covered all material discussed in class and he made lectures extremely engaging, informative, and entertaining. Attendance was not mandatory but I enjoyed showing up in person for his lectures. I am back to enroll again with him
If you have the opportunity to take him, please do. You will not regret it. No homework, just 3 exams throughout the semester. The exams are not hard as long as you attend class. Attendance is not mandatory. He definitely makes lecture interesting and you can tell he cares a lot.
this is the fourth class I've taken from professor Wehr, and he is my favorite professor of all time. It takes a while to figure out how actually to study for his exams, but if he keeps talking about a certain subject at the beginning of each class and writes it on the board, then that's gonna be on the exams. Just a really great professor to take.
There's no doubt as to why he is one of the most high-rated professors at UTA. He's as good as it gets. He makes his classes super fun, gives a lot of extra-credit opportunities, and repeats the same stuff so many times that it easily gets registered in your brain. Just take good notes in his class, and you are well on your way towards an easy A.
By ratings and personal experience, the best ECON professor. Had a feeling he was gonna be overrated, but he is not. He is funny, entertaining, and a good teacher. He emphasizes on the topics that will be on the test, and give the chance to replace your lowest test with a make-up test. Not a Business major, but now I'm doing a minor in business :)
He only grades you on 3 exams. He gives you 2 extra credit assignment (write a paper 5 pages long & taking a selfie at a transportation museum). He records his lectures so you don't need to attend in person other than on the exam dates. The lectures are long but if you follow along you find the course is not that difficult.
This man is brilliant. Great personality & willing to work with you when you have conflicts. Attendance is not required, but his lectures are easy to follow, and you can skip reading the textbook if you take good notes. 3 exams & you can take a third to replace your lowest-scoring one. Homework works as EC.
It felt like I already had to know things about microeconomics before even starting. He really is a fun and caring professor but I don't think his style of teaching was for me.
Best professor I've had so far! Your grade is based on 3 tests and an optional essay that will make each test worth less. Tests are based on his lectures so make sure to follow along and take good notes. Tests are multiple choice with some short answers and an optional long essay question to make the questions worth less points.
He is a great professor, passionate about economics. I never went to class, but I passed. the videos he has in the modules is literally enough. taking macro prior to this really helped. Going to class would probably help get an A
The professor is very passionate and wants you to succeed. The class is ENTIRELY exams. These exams are pretty challenging, but obtaining an A is possible. Getting a B is very easy. He provides extra credit homework and one extra credit assignment.
Professor Wehr is the first professor I've written a review for. I took this class for Maymester and it was a breeze. I highly recommend him for taking this elective. He recorded his lectures but his test consisted A LOT of things from lecture so make sure you're on top of lectures. The material was easy to understand and straightforward. Take him
Good professor, hilarious, and really cares about what he teaches and the success of his students. Your grade depends on 3 tests, but everything you need is in the study guides he provides. Extra credit on tests if you do homework assignments on Pearson Lab, the textbook/lab included in class payment I believe.
Professor Wehr is a great professor! I highly recommend taking his ECON 3388 course as an elective. Although it's only graded with 3 exams (2 midterms, 1 final), it's easy if you study! Professor Wehr also gives you the option to do a 5 page written essay about your favorite topic throughout the semester and it'll be worth 10% of your grade!
One of the best professors I've ever had! He's so funny; you'll love his class! His lectures are so effective/entertaining I only had to do some minimal studying (studied day before test& did the optional hw). Definitely an easy A; you have 3 tests, the 4th is optional (haven't taken the 3rd yet, but first 2 are super easy). Take him, he's amazing!
I took him for ECON 2305 for the first Summer 5 weeks and loved the class. There's usually two forms of extra credit and three tests and homework points for the test. I would definitely take his class again.
He is so funny and very lenient, you'll love this class, he'll cheer u up on a bad day
Amazing professor and an easy class. If you pay attention during lectures or watch the review videos on canvas you will pass. Take him!! Very lenient with grades.
This guy is absolute freaking gem. Caring, hilarious, easy to understand, and gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. Attendance isn't taken for a grade, but I HIGHLY recommend you go to as many lectures as possible if you want a good grade.
He is amazing!! Take him if you can! Very hilarious, makes the concepts easy to understand. He goes over topics that come for your tests 100 times and also has 3 tests, the fourth test is optional. Extra credit for homework and he adds points to your test scores if you just submit your homework. Just pay attention in class and its an easy A/B.
Great professor, explains everything well classes are funny.
He is very passionate about teaching and is very hilarious. He will make his students laugh. He provides a lot of extra credit and is always happy to help. He also provides great videos as an extra supplement for his lectures. Even with challenging concepts, he will repeat them, so it is easier to remember. I would definitely recommend him.
Genuinely one the funniest and best professor I've ever taken, and will be taking him again for micro next semester. If you don't attend lectures you'll miss a lot of info, but he does provide pre-recorded video lectures and other sources on canvas. Grades are only exams but he does provide a lot of extra credit for each exam!
BEST PROFESSOR AT UTA! Hands down my favorite professor at UTA. He is hilarious and his lectures are incredibly interesting, funny, and engaging. If you have the chance to take his class TAKE IT.
Attendance definitely isn't mandatory per se, but I would highly recommend attending them, especially if you're an Economics major. He's a rather Goofy Goober but he's very well-spoken and clearly knows a lot about his field. His exams are a bit long but are by and large based on discussions during class and aren't too difficult. Highly recommend
Roger Wehr is one of the funniest professors here at UTA. He is very knowledgeable about the subject and tries to teach it in a way that is unique and appealing to his students. He doesn't assign homework, so expect to read the textbook and study the lecture notes. He has some extra credit available and he does curve sometimes.
All I will say is, econ has never been my strength, but his teaching methods and examples are just awesome. I was happy seeing how I was actually understanding every piece of the big picture. Prof Wehr is really just that guy.
I am not very strong in economics but the way he is so entertaining made me a little bit better at it
The best professor in all of the college business. Makes learning course material fun and interesting. Cringy at times but its for the better understanding. Do not miss class and study because you will be lost. Its better to have an amazing professor at bad class time than an average professor at a reasonable time. ENROLL WITH HIM.
took econ 2305 and 2306 with him, best prof ever:) truly such a sweet and genuine professor who really cares for his students. everything you'll need to know for exams is through lectures, so make sure you go. provides lots of extra points for exams and extra credit assignments. you won't know your overall grade until the end of the semester though
Such a great professor, you can tell he is truly passionate about teaching his students. Somehow managed to take a boring subject like Econ and make it engaging and fun. He provides a lot of extra credit on exams and also provides extra credit assignments to add onto the overall course grade. Wehr is probably one of the best profs I've had at UTA.
AMAZING!!! His lectures are hilarious and he is so kind. He offers you to do an essay at the end of the semester, DO IT!! I am taking him again for another econ class.
I took econ 2305 and 2306 with him, these have been my favorite classes yet.He is such a genuine professor who really cares for his students. He is very clear on what to expect on exams, and provides reviews, and office hours to review concepts. He gives lots of extra points for exams and has extra credit opportunities.
Best ECON professor at UTA!!!! He is super funny (phil dunphy vibes), lectures are engaging and useful. Course consists of 3 tests, an optional paper and extra credit opportunities. I took the maymester course, it was a breeze! If I could take him again I would but unfortunately this was my last elective. TAKE HIM, YOU WONT REGRET IT!! 10/10.
Roger Wehr is a hilarious and engaging professor who makes economics fun. Attend his lectures and you'll do well - he provides lots of extra credit opportunities. Unstuckstudy AI was a big help for study prep too.
I took him for 3328 and 3388. He is a sweetie pie. He is entertaining and accessible to students in and outside of class. Pay attention, read, and take notes. I recommend taking his classes for anything you can. He's one of the best professors at UTA. He records his lectures on Teams and does not take attendance.
One of the best professors I've ever had, he is so funny and makes lectures actually enjoyable and not boring. The only assignments are the tests, but as long as you go to lecture and use the reviews he sends out it is not a very difficult class at all. There are also a lot of opportunities for bonus points that go toward the tests.
I would give him a higher rating if I could. He's very funny and animated when he speaks. You can tell he genuinely loves the subject he teaches. There's multiple opportunities for extra credit in his class. Exams are the only thing in the grade book, but you can take a 4th exam and he'll take the highest 3. I highly recommend that you take him.
Your grade will be based on 3 exams. For extra credit you can visit 2 museums and write a paper. He gave us extra credit for attending class in halloween costumes as well. struggled in this class because of cramming, but it's possible to do well. He posts his lectures on teams so I'd suggest rewatching them in preparation of the exams.
I literally love professors wehr! He is super funny and you can tell he really cares about his students and his lectures. He is a goofy guy and ties in funny experiences in his life into the lectures. Your grade is determined by 3 tests and a makeup test if needed, but he gives out so much extra credit that is super easy too.
Energetic and fun professor. Took him in the Winter. Expect 3 exams, if you pay attention and are great with details, a 'B' is easy. On top of that he gives 2 cred. opp. easy letter grade bump. 2 exams has optional short essay, do it. Its a good easy chunk of points that could cover from case questions getting wrong (lots of detail to remember).
Professor Wehr is a funny guy and makes lectures entertaining. He is very helpful outside of class and if you have any questions he will clear them up. The most tricky part of the course is understanding the different graphs. The math is pretty easy. Study for exams, come to lectures, and take detailed notes!!

BEST ECON TEACHER EVER!! He is super goofy and I never missed any of his lectures because the way he explains things is easy to understand. I'm planning to take all of my elective econ classes from him. You're not gonna regret attending his class!!!!
The best professor you'll take in any semester. Makes you want to come to class just because his story times are so fun and intriguing. He's hilarious and expressive, totally different from all the engineering classes you'll take. You respect and love him not only because he's fun but also because how knowledgeable he is and how well he teaches.
He's the best and amazing
Okay, tests are hard, sure, but whether you actually do well or not will be determined by what YOU do in the end. He's goofy, makes the class worth it, and curves the final. There's also a lot of extra credit that you will realize you WILL need if you're one of those people who want an A. Just an amazing professor. Given the chance, take him.
Class is test based, 3 exams and make up optional. Professor Wehr is passionate about teaching, may get off topic but will be happy to answer any questions. Go to his office hours and he will help break down the materials. Attendance was not mandatory, but there will be times when Teams doesn't work so just go to lectures.
Grades are basically 3 exams where the questions aren't too difficult and adjusts scores. He does offer extra credit in terms of a paper if overall grade isn't great. No hw's and quizzes but read the WSJ articles he assigns for the exam. Can get off topic sometimes and jokes a lot which helps. I had a good experience. Would highly recommend!
Best professor I've had so far, will be taking him next year. Hilarious and teaches really well. Although the exams are worth 100% of your grade, with the extra credit and the bare minimum of studying can get you an A in the class. Great personality makes lectures impossible to skip even though I had him at 8am and attendance is optional.
Very engaging lectures and fun situational exercises, taken in the 5 week course so attendance was crucial but I always looked forward to it. I would hang out with this guy.
Very helpful and cares for his students. Sometimes I see him out in the hall helping a student out, this shows he truly does care and puts in the effort. He has tons of extra credit opportunities, just doing the homework can give you extra points on the test.
His class was the highlight of my semester. He's fun, funny, and makes lectures engaging while giving you everything you need for the tests. Lots of extra credit, very accessible outside class, and he answers questions thoughtfully. I genuinely looked forward to coming to class. No homework (optional), only three tests and a final.
