Teaches the course well enough (could be worse, from what I hear). Comes across as very cocky! I personally got tired of him by the end of the semester.

This guy teaches u in a way, where u will know everything on the exam. He gives u a copy of an exact exam from the previous semester. He is awesome!!! Very easy to talk to, and explains everything thoroughly.

Cooper teaches ACC 240 & 241 and is by far the BEST teacher for these accounting classes! Do not take anyone else. While this man may appear to be cocky to a lot of people, he really is a nice guy and is not cocky if you take the time to talk with him

Tells you point blank what is on the tests. Hardly collects homework. Do it and then correct it when he goes over it in class and study JUST THAT for the test. He never asks anything you haven't done already. Very point blank but I didn't learn much.

I wish Cooper was teaching ALL of my classes. He literally goes through the book telling you to circle things (that's the stuff that will be on the last page of the exam). Do and study all of the homework problems. Check your answers at the book's website.

One of the easiest classes I've taken at the COB. Tests are extremely easy. Mostly based on the structures he teaches you in class. Tells you whats going to be on the tests.

Nice professor! Explains very clearly. Almost all the leactures, homeworks, and projects are in Excel, so if you have a laptop bring it in. Gives a lot of structure to memorize, but it really helps on the exams.

Very good teacher. He pulls the important concepts out of the book and lectures on those. Also those are the only things you will be tested on. He doesn't throw in any surprises. I would definatly recommend him for this class.

Very good Prof. Explains everything in detail. Grades are primarily based on 4 exams including a cumulative final that is a killer, only because there is a lot of accounting structure that you must remember. Very fairteacher, would recomend him. He also speaks english which is a plus at Eastern!

Mr. Cooper is a good teacher. I loved his class and the way that he taught was comprehensive but difficult at the same time. I liked the class but has a hard time in it at the same time.

Class time was never wasted. Cooper Would go over everything that was going to be on the test. Some tests were harder than others. Do well on the first three tests so you can drop the final which is really hard. Overall a class that I enjoyed very much.

Highly recommended. He is a very fair teacher who cares about his students, and will make an effort to help you. The tests are difficult, but if you show up every day for class and put in your effort, you'll be rewarded.

Prof. Rolland is a nice person but his teaching skills I believe is subpar. I believe he makes up for that by allowing a good curve. But you would do better teacher yourself, and don't expect any help with questions because he will answer any question as vague as possible. He also have students submit hw on a sunday what since does that make but doesn't check it until weeks later. not efficient

Cooper is funny and engaging. I enjoyed his class, and looked forward to attending it. You can expect to work hard for an A. While he does assign homework, the Final Exam carries a majority of the weight of your final grade.

Cooper is a good professor and is willing to help if you need it. It's a hard class but if you come to every class, ATTEMPT the homework, and study a little for the exams you will do okay. He will most likely "curve" the grades (not in the traditional way, he will assign more weight to exams that you do better on)

I don't feel his exams are at all indicative of the material in the weight of points/problem. The last page of the exam is 4 definitions (20 points). I bombed the first exam until I learned how to play his game. Take a different prof if you can, otherwise just learn his style of testing and focus on that.

HORRIBLE TEACHER!!!! he talks about nothing and exams are hit or miss. 4 problems they each worth 25. and its not based on if you show work or not, aka you get one wrong answer and you end up with a C!

Prof. Cooper was a great teacher who was very good at explaining difficult concepts. You must study for his exams, but if you do they are not too bad. He is always willing to help!

If you want to waist your time and learn nothing then Cooper is one. He explains nothing and makes hard exams. I believe he is the worst prof I have ever had in my entire life.

Professor is somewhat apathetic. Exams are usually four to eight questions (usually four), and are unreasonable measures of accounting performance. Exams do an okay job of reflecting course material, but some problems really are hit or miss. Did answer questions and try to find answers when asked however. Learn to play his game after 1st exam.

Mr. Cooper is a good, funny teacher who allows anyone to ask questions and is flexible when asked (assignments were due on Sunday, changed to Wednesday upon request). If you follow directions and go to class, you will get an A in the class.

Prof. Cooper is a very good teacher. He covers relevant information and makes sure to get the main points across. His exams are very fair and he lets you know the questions you will see on them ahead of time. He is one of the best professors at EMU.

Took 3 accounting classes with him. he really makes you understand by solving problems in such a simple way. Very helpful, easy grader, and down to earth. I wish EMU had more teachers like cooper. Go to class, do the homework, and you'll get an A. I would take chinese classes with him if he taught it!!!

This guy wasted my time and my $1,000. I took a summer class with him. He explains really good but his tests are total nonsense. You can study as hard as you want because the exams do not reflect your knowledge. Every thing has to be done his way. Way to "old school"... I believe it would be the ideal time for him to retire... Truth hurts...

Listen to the warnings and be skeptical of the praise. The class is easy. The lectures are clear he even makes you think that he is setting you up for success - and then: his tests.He says one thing and then his test are a different story. If its not a mandatory class,dont waste ur time or money. BEWARE!

Grad student, signed up for 240 and 241 because 501 isn't offered in summer. 240 teacher: great! This guy...ugh. Jumps around in the book (starts with chapter 6), not even giving a real intro to the course. Kind of cocky, and keeps you to the FINAL minute (and sometimes a few extra). Goes waaaay too fast in teaching, even for a summer term :(

The professor knows what he is teaching and I recommend taking him. Fair warning there is ALOT of homework. The tests are very tough, HINT is READ every problem 2-3 times and underline all Verbs before answering. Stay up with the class and there is no surprises. A little rough on grading but overall does give credit for showing work.

Teaches in a very clear manner. First test was very tricky but the second test was very reasonable. He is willing to answer any questions and is respectful to students. Oh, and for fun, he uses the student ID database to figure out who you are as you walk into the class on the first day.

Best accounting class I have ever taken and I have had 4! He gives you tons of examples and they highly reflect what will be on the exam. The exams are all on hand calculations (not multiple choice). However, it is very easy to get an A for the class if you take just a little time to the understand homework problems and concepts.

Highly recommended! Homework is done via Connections software, 4 easy computer projects, & 4 tests. He gives great examples and is very easy to understand. He doesn't want you to fail and gives you a lot of opportunities to boost your grade (dropping lowest homework grade, super easy projects). Best accounting teacher that I've had.

Very knowledgeable on subject. Breaks down the information into very comprehensible formats. Make sure you attend class so you will know these very helpful formats. He is very helpful and always available to assist you during his office hours. I would highly recommend this Instructor for ACCT 241.

I hated accounting until I had Cooper. He is a great teacher and probably one of the best I have had. I would recommend him as a teacher to any and everyone who is taking accounting. TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!

A no nonsense or fluff teaching style. No need to buy textbook but there are a few Connect assignments. You need to memorize all the formats for the test because he doesn't give it to you.He teaches off Excel for the entire class which is an awful style. Not the best ACC teacher at EMU but certainly not the worst.

The hardest class I have taken at eastern so far. You HAVE to go to class and study. Exams are hard, but if you study a lot, you'll do good. The whole class is taught off excel, and he will go fast so make sure you ask questions.

If you struggle with accounting I would not recommend taking Cooper. He is pretty clear with in his teaching style but almost your entire grade is made up of 3 extremely hard exams that are graded toughly. There is no room for error and no way to bump up your grade through other assignments or extra credit. One bonus- you don't need the book.

2 Tests = 25% each. Best test is 40%. Last 10% is free if you do ur hw. Grades leniently. Pro-tip: bring a laptop. If you have formulas saved in your excel sheet you can just plug and chug the numbers and arrive at the answer quickly, and great for reviewing hw. Half the class got Cs on the 2nd test but most of us got Bs and As final grade.

Professor Cooper is a very tough teacher to have. He goes very quickly through his lectures and is very misleading to what is going to be on exams (which are your whole entire grade). I advise do your connect homework, but don't rely on connect to study for exams.

This is not an easy class, but Professor Cooper is very helpful and if you do the practice problems you'll do decently well on the exams. The homework is graded on completion and the projects are insanely easy. I'd definitely recommend him.

Professor Cooper is an excellent teacher. His exams require you to have a solid understanding of the material so if you don't, you won't do well. Very helpful and willing to explain things outside of class. Not the easiest classes but you learn A LOT from him. Definitely take as many classes as you can with him!!

Excellent instructor. The ONLY acc class I took that was enjoyable. Uses humor & current business chat to keep the class engaged. Very fair grader. Will answer all questions, will even stop & repeat- very helpful, just ask. Lectures in a style anyone can understand. Took this over 6 wk summer semester. I highly recommend Mr. Cooper for ACC 605

Currently in this class, but it is registration time so I wanted to give my input now. He is a great professor and has made accounting have personality. The tests are easier than the homework and class work. Tells you what to expect on the test. Be sure to use 5 digits of accuracy and give good information and numbers in the writing parts of test.

If you are not an accounting major, this course can be slightly daunting. Rolland does not do many notes, but rather shows a lot of examples using excel. He gives 3 large slightly tough exams, and a good amount of homework. Plus 3-4 computer projects. Pay attention and participate, and you should be okay. No book needed, but you need online Connect

I took him for ACC 241. The homework is all on Connect, and some you have to do on Excel. All of his lectures and examples are given through Excel. There are 4 computer projects (our class only did 3 though), homework every week, and 3 exams, 25% each. Attendance is necessary to pass. Study the lecture notes and Connect homework, you'll be fine.

Test are nothing like the notes or practice problems. He puts things on the exams that he has never shown you how to do in class. Grades certain students differently than others and makes you compare exams and argue for the points back instead of using a grading rubric.

The first test is a doozy because you aren't really sure what to expect. The next 2 tests are pretty easy if you study correctly. Make sure you memorize the layout of the problems and all equations. He uses his examples on the tests but will tweek them slightly. Overall, very helpful if you need it and easy to relate to real life.

Very good professor. Make things very easy to understand. He doesn't really use the book except for homework but the book can be found used for cheap. The exams are very easy and basically homework problems. I took the course during Summer and he cancelled the group project but in Fall/Winter you can also expect a group project.

I had him for the first part of ACC 605. He is very good at thoroughly getting the point across. Not much homework. Gave us a good review for the first exam. Not an accounting major, or I could have gotten a higher grade with him and the other guy who taught the rest of the course. Either way, I liked both instructors.

His notes are awful. He uses Excel and speeds through it. He is easily distracted by small things, half the time his class is just review from something on the notes the class before. His exams are super hard and you have to memorize a lot.

He is my absolute favorite teacher, borderline of all time. He is extremely helpful with any questions you have and he designs his notes, classwork, and homework with the objective of you understanding the concepts so you can do well on the exams. His humor is also an added bonus because it keeps class alive and moving. Hoping I can get him again.

Cooper is a good guy, but disorganized. His lecture notes have no labels on what numbers are. His notes are done either in Excel or he has you write what he demonstrates on a hand-out. Didn't use the book, except to get homework problems. Take pictures of a friend's book and find the statements online. Only 3 exams and some HW for grades.

The homework is alright. You get to check your answers a bunch of time, but, all of that is just 10 percent of your grade for the semester. The tests effect your grade more. They are pretty hard and you have to memorise alot of formulas. Also, sometimes the lectures in class don't help with the homework. He doesn't always do enough examples.

Briefly put: The online homework is easy because you can just check your answers in real time without consequence. The excel projects are you just doing his walkthroughs, taking only 10-15 minutes each. The exams are only hard if you don't study the formulas, but they're really just edited versions of in-class/homework problems.

Rolland's lectures are extremely unorganized. He does not label anything. His exams are not consistent with amount of questions. Grades on attendance and homework but homework is given every class period. Does not respond to emails. I would not recommend if you are an accounting major because it is a self taught class as his lectures are dry.
