Does a great job keeping the class motivated to stay with the pace of the course. He is proactive in offering help through regular e-mails to remind everyone of assignments due and he provides updates of after class in-person study help. He offers effective memorization techniques in class to remember different topics for the anatomy material.

Dr. Rollin is apsolutly one of the best professors I have met! It's psio, not an easy topic you need to study hard and put in the work. If you show interest and ask for help Dr. Rollin goes out of his way to help students understand! Very intelligent, easy to talk to! Take him you won't regret it!

I took BIO201 with Rollin and loved his teaching style so much that I ended up dropping another professor to take 202 with him. He keeps class fun and organized. I took the hybrid class so we only had one lecture a week and that worked for me. Ended both semesters with an A but I studied regularly and rarely missed a lecture.

Before classes began, I was on edge about whether or not to take the class. First day of class, I immediately felt comfortable and inspired by Medcalf. Very approachable, and set clear and achievable expectations. World could use more teachers like him.

Rollin is wonderful! I took his class for both BIO 201 and 202. My advise for this subject is to read the chapters ahead of the class and be prepared to listen to when he stresses particular points. Rollin will help you as much as possible, both inside the class and when you're at home studying. You just have to put the work in too!

He may not be the most eloquent lecturer, but he shows up for his students each day because he is passionate about his subject and passionate about teaching.

Medcalf was one of the most exceptional professors I have ever had. He gave me the encouragement I needed to succeed in both BIO201&202. Many of the things he taught me will remain engraved in my mind forever. Great teacher! He really wants you to succeed, and he leaves you with little surprises. There's lots of free points so make sure to not miss out on any labs/hw. Exams are pretty difficult, but it's straight from the power point. I just wish the hybrid format had lecture twice a week, oh and I wish he taught 202 :(

I had an awful Bio156 experience so I was discourage continuing Bio but, Dr. Medcalf was awesome! He was funny and was really good at prepping you for tests. If you go to each lecture and participate in the discussions, along with doing all homework assignments and studying you can pass his class. Exams covered everything he went over. I took this class as a 2+ hour, once-weekly section. The lectures werent required but good test hints were always shared. The labs consist of anatomy identificationon models in the BLC. Prepare beforehand and you wont spend extra time finishing them-easy point grab. Exams are multiple choice. Theres always a curve. Read the text!!!

I took this class in the summer-extremely fast paced. 5 weeks, 4 credits. Be ready to work! Think about learning 2 systems per week to mastery so you can crush the exam. Read the text for understanding of concepts. The multiple choice exams are most of your final grade and theres always a curve.

Biology 201 is a challenging course that requires a lot of reading, studying , lab work, exams, and quizzes. Dr. Medcalf is extremely helpful throughout the course providing excellent feedback, guidance and encouragement in class and outside of class. Yes, the course was test-heavy, with a test almost every week, and sometimes two tests the same day; but that was a course issue (some in-class/mostly online class).

Medcalf is a great professor during lecture he repeats what's going to be on the exam make sure you highlight it on your PP. There's a test almost every week sometimes even 2. Make sure to really study for your lab practicals those are the ones that will really bring your grade up. Exams are about 25 questions and practicals 10-12

Dr Medcalf is available for as much help as you need in this fully online/self paced class. There are a few big papers and quite a few small papers, but everything you need to know is available through the portal. I will definitely take more classes from him in the future. Professor Medcalf is funny although a little quirky, smart, and is willing to help you, but you have to reach out and let him know if you are having issues. Professor Medcalf is a wonderful teacher I drop this class several times from hust looking at the syllabus. After I finally took the class I got to see how easy it was.

He is a good teacher but the D2L was not well explained. I don't know if that's his fault but it was confusing. Make sure you complete both essays and discussion posts the first week of HRP 100 (there are 2 of each due the same day). He is strict but fair with his grading and if you put in effort and ALWAYS turn in on time you will get an A.

There is an exam almost every week but he gives good outlines and review that are very helpful towards the exam. If you study you will be fine.
