This is not a bad instructor to take for pre-calc. He is also a high school teacher so he is very clear and describes things well.
Best Math teacher ever. He will go the extra mile for you including outside class tutoring. You always have weekend to do homework. Treats students like adults, not HS students. Does not require you to be in class or do homework, but it is to your advantage if you do. Even gives help during tests
Mr. Andresen is great. He is the reason that I did so well in Calculus. He really builds a strong pre-calc foundation.
Awesome teacher! Very funny and makes math enjoyable!

This guy really cares about math and teaching it well to people. Probably the most enthusiastic math instructor I've ever had. At BCC, he teaches mostly night classes, so if you're going back to school or can only take courses at night, he's your best bet.
This teacher is the best math teacher I ever had, likes to talk and keeps you motivated. He is very enthusiastic and enjoys teaching. He will help you even outside of class. Oh yeah homework is optional.
ron is the nicest math teacher at bcc. he is so helpful and understanding and very happy to be there every day teaching. he usually bumps your grade up too if you need a little help to pass. homework is optional and he is just the greatest nicest teacher
He is an amazing math teacher and clearly explains what he teaches. Also, he showed up 30 min-hour before every class to give extra help with the material. Homework is optional but if you want an A in the class do it, since it helps prep you for the tests it's easy to get a 100% on assignments that add up to count for as much as an exam.
Just to reiterate everyone else's comments take him...even if he is teaching at night because it REALLY is worth the A!!!! He is an awesome guy and a little funky and weird!
He is a great and patient instructor. I would gladly take another class from him. Going back to school late in life is a difficult task, but he really helped me through it. The really funny thing is that my husband had him as a HS teacher 30 years prior. He was his all-time fav teacher. Of course he had to stop in and say hi!
He's such a great teacher. I've never understood math. But when Ron Anderson teaches, he just explains everything so simple that even I could understand it. Now I love math.....
Ron Andresen is a fantastic teacher. He has a passion for teaching, and clearly explains the (sometimes difficult) concepts. Homework is optional, but you will probably want to do it - plan on several hours each week. If you understand the homework, you should do fine on the tests. Trig can be tough, but a great teacher (like Ron) really helps.
BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD!!! He LOVES teaching and is hilarious in class!! If you don't want to do your hw, it's your choice. If you don't want to come, it's your choice. If you want to learn, he will do whatever it takes for you to understand :)
Really fun guy who loves math. Math has always been hard for me, but his lectures helped me understand it a lot better. 3 midterms and lowest grade dropped, plus choice of doing or not doing homework.
Ron is a very nice teacher. He does not give out extra credit but his grading scale is that he doesn't like to give out F's. I received a letter grade or two higher than what I thought I deserved. He is funny and kept me awake (class went until 10pm). Definately recommend Ron. He is probably the best math teacher at BCC.
Very enthusiastic about math. Has a great sence of humor. Willing to help. I found this class too fast paced. Often times I would do the optional book hw and not understand a thing!! I would spend hours reteaching myself. I wish he would do more examples and make sure EVERYONE understands.
Very clear, only issue I had was he let one particular student dominate the lectures with endless lame questions that made it clear she was not ready for this class.
Really good at explaining things. I'm usually really bad at math but ended up liking his class and getting a B. Doesn't care if you skip class. Weekly homework assignments but is optional. Grades very fairly. Tests were'nt too difficult. Gives you lots of inside help for the final :) TAKE MATH WITH HIM!
The best math teacher I've ever had. He's not too tough of a grader, but not that easy either. He does grade very fairly. His test are harder than the final, which is good. Optional homework system that he has is great for people who want to bring their grade up a bit. He explains stuff well and is very funny and engaging, makes class kind of fun
Mr. Andreson is a wonderful teacher. He explains everything really clearly, and he grades very fairly. He lays out all his expectations. You can choose whether or not to do homework, but I recommend doing it, since he uses the homework questions on the exams. You also get to drop one of your lowest exam grades. I definitely recommend him!!!
Definitely has been my favorite math teacher ever, possibly even one of my favorite teachers, period! He makes class interesting, and he teaches everything you need to know to do well on the exams and in future classes. If you aren't sure who to take, Go with ANDRESON!
Seasoned, passionate about topic, consistant method from which a strong pattern can be formed to solve eqautions.
He is a really good and proficient teacher, one of the best math teachers I ever met. I was extremely happy with this class.
Ron is simply the best math teacher I've ever had, and I really don't see it being possible to get a better instructor. He's very funny and keeps you awake in those sleepy night classes. Very fair and wants EVERY student to pass his class, will work with you outside of class too. If you have the chance to take him, please do for your own sake.
Andresen is a very effective teacher. Makes concept very clear and often repeats vital info. He's also extremely helpful to students who ask for extra help. He has a lot of energy, which is important for a night class. Tests are not easy, but he's a fair grader. His class is fun and he's awesome. One of the best math classes I've had.
Ron was my all time favorite math instructor, I took him for 098 and 099. He will lecture until everyone understands. He is super smart. I am now taking another math teacher and I am so lost, I wish he was teaching my class but he doesn't teach business math. I learned more math in his class then in my entire life. Heads up, he's retiring soon!!!
I took Andresen for Math 141. He was by far the best math teacher I had every had. He makes sure you understand the material, and he keeps your attention the whole class. Highly recommended if math does or does not come easy to you. I wish I could take him for every class!
Moves a little fast so pay attention, but very nice and really wants you to understand the material! Fair teacher and if you study the optional homework problems you will be able to do the tests!
He is the best teacher you can possible take...anywhere! He is extremely helpful, funny, and very clear in his lectures and will always spend extra time with those who struggle. You will go from dreading math to loving it with Ron teaching you.
Very helpful. Extremely enthusiastic about Math. Retiring soon.
Ron is retiring soon, and I am glad I got to be part of his career before he retires. He really wants us, you, me to understand math. I am taking a late evening class and he is very entertaining and keeps us awake and intrigued.
The material that was on the tests wasn't covered well at all in the homework. I did 75% of the homework and failed the tests.
Enthusiastic teacher who has been instructing in Mathematics for over 40 years. Very approachable, helpful, and willing to spend hours outside of class to help students succeed. Good personality too! I suggest you pay attention, do the homework, and read the sections BEFORE coming to class. Don't fall behind, and you'll get an A.
3 tests and final, he will drop the lowest from 3 tests. HW is optional, but it is better to do it for the tests. His tests are big but no time limit. Some questions are from his lecture which he usually repeats the vital points. Highly recommended.
He is really clear and helpful! Don't be afraid to ask questions because he will definitely spend the time to answer them. He's pretty funny too! The tests can be hard so study.
Mr. Andresen is a really great instructor. He wants you to learn the material and is willing to meet outside of class time in order to provide additional tutoring. Be prepared to work hard and study. I highly recommend him.
He is a very great teacher- I had him as my first teacher at BC as a running start student and was able to understand material well after. There are only 3 tests and one final, and each are pretty long but you don't have a time limit and your worst score will drop. His lectures are very sharp and he makes math exciting even at the evening classes.
GREAT TEACHER! He's a really nice guy and as everyone else said, very helpful! He has to be my favorite teacher of all time and I would take him for every class if I could. He loves math and you can tell in his lectures, he's funny and excited to teach math.
I don't like math, but man this guy knows how to make math fun. Highly recommend him for math classes.
Ron is such a great teacher. He always asks what way YOU want to solve something so it's easiest for you. He enjoys math and has fun with his class so that we can enjoy it too. Always is wiling to answer any question no matter how simple it may be. HW is optional(easy if you do it), no quizzes, and only 3 tests.
There isn't enough good I can say about Ron. Probably the best teacher I've had in ANY subject, EVER. He once even offered to meet up with me outside of school to turn in some HW. Ron - if you are reading this, Bellevue College is going to be lacking in quality math teachers when you retire.
Ron is an outstanding teacher. He is by far the best math teacher I've had at BC and due to my struggles in the subject I've had quite a few. Ron puts things in terms that are easy to understand and he is more than willing to spend extra time helping his students. Ron might be retiring soon, I wish him well but it will be a shame for BC to lose him
He is the BEST math teacher ever but unfortunately fall 2011 would be his last quarter of teaching.take the math 142 with him if you want to enjoy the math as i did for the first time ever in my life!
He is the best Math teacher. If you don't understand something just ask and he will help you understand the way you can. I took his class at 7:50-10:00 pm and I'm so awake, time just flies by because the class is so interesting and fun.
Incredibly helpful and nothing but sweet. Even if you don't understand something from the first day and it is the sixth week, he'll still help you with it. Very excitable and funny. You're a great guy, Coach :)
This man is the greatest teacher ever! Bellevue College is very lucky to have him. He's funny and welcoming. His lectures are like watching a live performance, and yet you will learn. HW is optional as well as the attendance. Ron grades students based on tests that you'll have to take time from time. Other than that, take his class, ITS WORTH IT!
Despite my having taken trig classes in the past, his class was most edifying, and if nothing else entertaining. Mr. Andresen you are a boss
I would major in math if it meant Ron taught all my classes and I hate math more than strawberries, and I break out in hives and could die when I eat strawberries. Yeah.
Hands down the BEST TEACHER EVER! Take his class, you'll have lots of fun and no problems staying awake, he's really funny and has a booming voice that's just awesome. Really passionate about math, makes it easy to understand tough concepts and super fun to go to class every night. None better than Ron.
Ron is the ultimate math coach! I really believe that my success in Calculus will be in part due to his great teaching. took a late class from 7-10PM and with his strong personality and character he makes boring math seem exciting and so interesting. Ron could teach anything and make it exciting!. Tests are very hard so study well!!!
Ron is the BEST math teacher I've ever had...I took 099, three times and I STILL had no clue about how to do it, until I took Ron - he is amazing, and teaches it so smooth!! He was the most helpful to students, and makes them feel confident, which is why I got a B! You're the best Ron!
Unsurpassed in clarity of instruction, helpfulness, and willingness to accommodate his students learning.
Ron made me a believer, both in math and myself. I had him for both 99 and trig. I was labeled "remedial math" years ago and I always believed it. But I aced both of his classes because he made it so clear. I'm no genius by any means, but I'm no longer afraid of math. I can honestly say that Ron positively changed this part of my life.
Best Teacher at bellevue college by far. He is the reason why I enjoy going to my classes. The way teachers should teach.
Ron is by far the best teacher there is at Bellevue College. He is more interested in helping you learn the material rather then expecting you to just figure it out yourself. He is always willing to help with any questions and doesn't make you feel dumb for not knowing. Cant say enough great things about him. Will be a sad day when he retires.
Very good and passionate teacher.
Best math professor I've ever had, hands down.
REALLY Such a wonderful person and teacher! He is so nice and he is also a great teacher, if he is available I strongly recommend him for whatever class you take. Do homework, goto lecture and just know the topics and surely you will get an A.
Best math teacher I have ever had. Period. Loves what he does and wants his students to learn. Wonderful teacher and person.
I'm retaking calculus 2, and I took this teacher again because I liked his grading system. Granted this is his first time teaching Calculus 2, but he makes things so much harder than they have to be(via tests). He puts up some very difficult problems, the test are a mystery. Also we are tested on some non-book material. And he goes FAST.
Ron's 30+ yrs with math makes him versed in where we get stuck. Math is a hard subject for me, yet he helped navigate the subject better than most and that is because his lectures were super understandable and he is clear about where students are prone to mess-up. He's not afraid to repeat himself to get a point across. Repetition is key!
Took his class for Calc 1 + 2 and I wish he taught 3 too. Lectures are clear and includes lots of examples; he spends first half of class going over questionshw. Tests shouldn't be too hard if you do the hw and study. One of the best math instructors I've had.
Mr. Andresen is an instructor I had years ago, after a long absence from school (MATH 142.) It's his energy, helpfulness, and general passion for teaching that helped me succeed (I got a B). After several bad instructors, I jumped at the chance to take his 152 class, which he rarely teaches. Not enough space to explain why you MUST take his class.
Ron is LEGENDARY. I'm at a math level now that I never imagined being at. And the one and only reason for that is a lower level math class I took years ago that Ron happened to be teaching. I never thought I would use the word 'enjoy' and 'math' in the same sentence , let alone follow a career path based on math! I still can't believe it myself.
Ron is a great guy who really wants his students to succeed. He's very clear in his lectures and is always willing to take the time to go over homework problems and answer questions. Homework is optional but you should definitely do it. Show up to class, do the homework, ask questions, and you'll do fine. Wish he was teaching calc 2 next quarter!
Curriculum is tough but manageable homework not required but helps! Go to his lectures! He's an amazing teacher take notes! He is funny and nice and understanding I was out two weeks with a concussion and he made me my own test! Definitely take him you won't regret it. Tests are hard but if you can do the homework you can do well on tests.
Mr. Andresen is the kind of teacher that makes you love math when you previously hated it. I was already interested, but he is really inspiring and funny! I took this class at night, and no matter how tired I was he made me look forward to learning. Not an easy grader but he gives a fair amount of homework (which is optional) and he's fair.
Ron is a great man who knows how to teach calculus through and through. He is charming, intelligent, and authentic. He is traditional but not obsolete. He knows how to capture the intrigue of a class. Homework and attendance are optional, but I reached a point where I was motivated to do the homework and come to class because of that man.
I took his pre-calc 2 night class, and his energy and passion for teaching made it so fun and interesting to learn the material. I strongly recommend doing the HW and STUDY for the tests because they are very hard. He would stay as late as 11pm to answer any questions and work w/ you. Great guy, loved him as a teacher! Strongly recommend!!
Ron is a really, really great guy, but I can't get past the fact of how hard this class was. To be fair, I've never been great at math, but it seemed that his tests never aligned with the homework that I completed (which is optional btw). If you excel in math, I would recommend this instructor, but if not you should try an easier course.
Mr. Andresen is one of the greatest math instructors in the Universe. I wish he taught other subjects! His tests are just like the homework questions. He explains the subject very well, his lessons are interesting, and his personality is awesome!
Tests were way too difficult. Some on the content wasn't even from the homework he assigned. He's also a tough grader and takes points off for little things. However, he is a good teacher and there to help you.
Professor Andresen is an awesome prof who clearly has a passion for math which is what kept me awake when I took his evening course last quarter. Although I didn't really want to take another evening course I'm taking Math 151 this quarter in the evening so that I can have him as my prof again.
Andresen was the clearest math professor I've ever had. Albeit, this was because in his 2 hour lectures he repeated the same over and over, but it was helpful sometimes. The homework was reasonable, and you always had a week to do it, if you chose to. Plus, he couldn't care less whether or not you come to class.
I wish every instructor was like Ron. The energy he puts into lectures is incredible. Don't take him if you aren't going to attend class. I put in many hours on the HW and attended all lectures; and I did well. His style is inspirational. I am so grateful for his introduction to calculus. I should have given him a big hug.
he is very good. just teach so fast
Mr. Andresen is an amazing professor. Clear lecture and encourages you to ask questions, I learned a lot from this class. He is inspirational and let you want to go to class and find your interests in Math. Always there to help students. Really great professor!
Professor Ron is wonderful not only is he very enthusiastic about what he does he loves it, which makes him really good at teaching. If you don't want to learn calculus or you don't plan to put in the effort then do not waste your time and let someone else take this wonderful teacher. Best introduction to calculus i will forever be thankful.
Andresen is a really caring instructor who does not hesitate to spend time to help students solve the homework problems (but this may lead to the decrease in time of new lecture). If you do not understand, just ask! He will explain carefully for you even though this is from lower math class. The tests are straightforward + similar to hw assignments
He's amazing ,funny, will make you love MATH, HW are optional, total 4 tests, he will cancel one(least-scored). If you learn HWs you will get A! you are crazy to not take his class!!
Ron is an amazing teacher. He walked us through Calculus I in a step by step basis with lots of examples and optional comprehensive homework assignments. Exams were super fair.
