Do not EVER for a second think this is a good class. Harsh on grades, no forgiveness, lectures aren't even on the test.

Do not take this professor, he will yell at you and make you want to cry every single time you come to class. He is a mean dude.

The class is challenging if you are bad at taking information in lecture form. The class Is very test-heavy, and the teacher is not forgiving when it comes to missing class. He has good information, but you need to pay attention to the readings because the test is over.

He has heavy lectures but does not pertain to the tests. All the exams are textbook-based with no review provided. He's strict on being late to class (will kick you out). With his course being lecture-heavy, make sure you listen because there are pop quizzes. His lectures are interesting and helpful though.

He sucks. Super strict about how you email him and will drop your grade if not up to his standards, has no fun and super stern. Would never want to have him as a professor again

Professor Bolen is an interesting teacher who has a good story and is good at what he does. When it comes to his personality, there is nothing remotely nice about it, or how he treats some of his students. Expect to pass and do fine, but make sure you show up to class and put your best foot forward still.

Really awful professor. Guy was really rude to his students. Often makes fun of his students in class, threatens to kick them out, and by god dont even think about emailing him without a section number.

Not a good professor. He desperately needs to chill out; he's teaching a non-major required class. His lame and agitated personality extinguishes any flame of interest the material offers. He's a wet rag that prevents any spark of enthusiasm I feel from this class. I will for the rest of my days regret signing up for his class. Do better, Ron.

He actually made me want to cry. If you are an anxious person who hates getting called on, don't take this class and take it somewhere else. I missed one pop quiz and it brought my grade down from an A to a C... His tests are hard and specific. You better know what's going on in the wall street journal too bc that is a topic every class.

Do not show up to this class late because he will not be very kind. Read the WallStreet journal because if he calls on you and you do not have an answer than he will be very rude. Make sure to be in attendance for every class because he does give random pop quizzes and sometimes even two in one class. Overall, this class made me very anxious.

Bolen is an amazing teacher, however he is NOT the nicest. He would yell at students who came in even 1 minute late to his class, and I even remember him calling a student not very nice words when he left during the middle of class...He also assigns SEVERAL pop quizzes, and if you miss it the chances of your grade dropping by a few letters is HIGH.

If you have social anxiety DO NOT take this class. He will call on several people randomly each lecture over articles from WSJ and NYT, and if you don't the answer he is very disrespectful about it. Lots of pop quizzes- if you miss even one expect your grade to drop a few letters. Very lecture heavy.

I do not have a single good thing to say about Ron Bolen. If you don't appreciate when a teacher is blatantly mean and rude DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE. Bolen will give you a mean insult half the time if you can't think of a WSJ article half the time. Genuinely the most disrespectful teacher I have had my entire academic career. 0/10.

Ron Bolen thinks he knows what he is talking about, but he does not. He is honestly the worst professor I have ever had during my time at the OU. I am an ENT major who owns my own successful business and go to school for the degree. I know more about the market and how to create a business than anything he teaches. Extremely rude, and outdated.

Horrible person and extremely hard to work with

His lectures don't line up with tests which is super frustrating. He has pop quizzes to get people to come to class. He doesn't seem to understand that this is a blow-off class required for many majors. He will occasionally let us out early. If he actually taught material that would be on the test it wouldn't be a bad class.

Ron Bolen doesn't teach from the textbook, which is what the tests are over. He teaches for his pop quizzes, which is what the lectures are over. You're learning the content on your own and the pop quizzes are only there to keep you in class. I thoroughly do not recommend him as a professor. He's had a successful career, but is not fit to teach.

Ronald Bolen is the only person that teaches this course. You need to be prepared for the toughness of this class. He cold calls on you, tests aren't over the lectures, and does surprise pop quizzes. He is interesting, to say the least. Just pray they find another teacher soon.

Ron was very rude and kicked kids out of his class for showing up 20 seconds late. He gave 10 pop quizzes that are worth 40 percent of your grade. I missed class due to my sisters wedding and he gave 2 pop quizzes the day that I missed. That brought my grade down 8 percent. He has cause me to change out of the college of business. DONT TAKE HIM.

Teaches Lectures for pop quizzes which you have 5 mins to take. All on your own to learn the material for exams(online). Doesn't have a review and doesn't help you prepare for it at all. He has potential of being a good guy but he seems not to care for his students. If you cheat on pop quizzes and exams he threatens to get you expelled.

Professor Bolen is passionate about the subject but not about the students he teaches. There is absolutely no extra credit so if you miss one assignment it is near impossible to bring your grade up and he will not help you no matter the circumstance & there is no rounding of grades. Tests are only over the text book and not what he lectures about.

Bolen is a arrogant professor who punishes students by using pop quizzes and cold calling students over the wall street journal. His words exactly on the first day of class " If you don't want to read the wall street journal everyday then get out of business ". His lectures don't matter on the test and he is very unapproachable.

All he does in his lectures is talk about himself. Tests are not related to the lecture materials at all. While attendance is not mandatory, there are 10 or so pop quizzes that can make or break your grade, especially if one is missed. Does not care about the students, very egotistical.

Professor Bolen is hostile and rude. Exams are on the textbook, and his lectures don't connect to the book. Don't be late to class even by a minute, as he does pop quizzes at start with 1-5 minute length. If you miss it, he does not accept retakes. Expects students to read entire WSJ before class, will bully if you didn't read a specific article.

Thank the lord for his TA because he saved my life with the in-class quizzes while I had mono. But this man is just simply rude and cruel. Two kids in my class didn't know the answer to a question and he said " I hope you get in a car crash after school" like what over a question but also this class is a WASTE of time.

Prof Bolen was one of the worst professors I have ever had in my history at OU. None of the content he lectures over is tested on. If I can make an A in accounting, I should be able to in one of the dumbest, most useless classes I have ever taken. His business advice is contradictory and goes off of "just knowing when the time is right".

Worst professor I have ever taken. He said if you don't read the WSJ you will fail in business, he also expects his students to read it everyday. Pop quizzes can be from any lecture he has ever taught that semester. He is very narcissistic and will give you a 0 for your daily pop quiz grade (about 3% of your total class grade) if you show up late.

I wasn't planning on writing a review but after a recent lecture I heard him say word for word "I always think when I see someone leave the class should I give out a pop quiz just to hurt them." It makes me wonder how he even got this job in the first place. I would not recommend enrolling in his class.

I wouldn't say that his class is hard, but he is actually the worst professor I have ever had. He genuinely does not care about his students at all, and he pretty much wants you to fail his class. Most narcissistic professor I have ever had.

He might be the worst teacher ever. Please take this somewhere else if you can. He gives random pop quizzes with each question worth 1% of your grade and the questions are totally random. The tests are based off the textbook, which is not what he lectures over at all. He is manipulative and yells at students and teaches off an environment of fear.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. If you care about keeping a 4.0 do not take, I just barely scraped by. Pop-quizzes are 40% of your grade and exams are joke testing you on specifics from the text that very few people can recall.

Cruel, condescending and unprofessional. Seems to think trying to be scary = good teaching. It's an utter travesty that he's allowed anywhere near a classroom, let alone a university. Exams focus too much on certain content, and too little on other topics. You're penalized for emailing him. Not one good quality about this man. Good luck.

I missed one pop quiz because we were under a tornado watch, and they were predicting hail during the time of my class (I would have to walk 20 mins in this weather), and this one missed pop quiz brought my grade from a 92 to an 81. Tests are impossible unless you manage to memorize every word of the textbook. Terrible class overall. Goodluck.

It's a disgrace that this man's allowed to teach. Pop quizzes + smartbooks are the only thing that'll save you - the average on either of the exams (which mostly consist of arbitrary questions) will always be a C and to him, that'll be an "outstanding" grade (direct quote, btw) - so he deliberately makes exams hard AND he's terrible at his job.

Bolen's a narcissistic antique that's somehow convinced both itself and the entire Entrepreneurship division that it's fit to teach 600 students despite the class average consistently being like, 70%. I won't waste your time telling you to look for another professor; there aren't any for ENT 2113. Just show up to class for the quizzes.

Pretty sure Bolen's near-death experience in Nevada robbed him of most, if not all, of his brain cells required to teach properly, and left him as the egotistical, self-absorbed A-hole 600 people are forced to endure every semester. This guy needs to retire so somebody competent and tolerable can take over his job.

Lectures are boring and based heavily on his personal, unimportant anecdotes from when he was a businessman. You get points off for trying to contact him but his TA is awful at communicating. 0/10.

I only passed this class bc of the pop quizzes (go to class pls) and smartbooks. Exams test you on the most arbitrary info. Bolen is unbelievably arrogant with an undeserved superiority complex. The man loves the sound of his voice more than the sight of a class average above 75% (ridiculous, considering this is simply an ENT basic business class)

Worst professor I've taken, 10 pop quizzes each worth 4% of your FINAL grade. No remorse for missing a pop quiz even if the circumstance was out of your control. No other professor options so good luck

A real POS. Idk how he got this job, it's certainly not because he knows the material. His lessons are based on stories from his time as a businessman, which would be helpful, if that time wasn't like 200 years ago. Exams quiz you on unimportant stuff, and pop quizzes are based on things which aren't even in the textbook. Nasty class overall.

Extremely insensitive. My stepdad passed away during dead week and I wanted to do the final earlier so I could fly out to CA for his funeral but Bolen said no. I ended up going from a B to a D because I obviously couldn't miss the funeral. He's an awful teacher with an even worse personality.

The worst professor I've taken so far. He uses lectures to talk about his experience as a businessman-basically a TedTalk. Exams are strictly based on textbook material, which he never goes over or offers any study help. Frequent pop quizzes; took lots of notes on the slides given during lectures, some quiz questions are excluded from the slides

Worst Processor I've ever had in my life. He's stuck living in his own world doing what he wants. What he teaches during lectures means nothing, yet you must go for the pop quizzes. Will do anything to make our lives harder. 0/10 do not recommend, he belongs in another country.

The professor is extremely rude. He has humiliated and yelled at students for arriving on time, refusing to let them take pop quizzes, and even going as far as threatening to expel them. His behavior shows a lack of professionalism and ethics.

This professor has too much of an ego. He takes his class way too seriously for being an entry-level business course. He does not treat his students with respect and is extremely insensitive. He sometimes rambles about topics that have nothing to do with the course material.

Absolutely horrific hire by OU. This guy is a self centered a-hole. He'll yell at you if you come in even before class starts and kick you out, if it's close enough to the start time. He doesn't even teach what we are tested over, only what we are (pop) quizzed over. All in all, I would NEVER recommend this professor, not even to my worst enemy.

If you're late with your registration and his class is the only option, go for it. It's not a difficult class, and you can get an A if you pay enough attention. However, the rating is accurate; his personality isn't great, and his ego is high as the kite. He even kicked two people out for arriving at 4:59 PM, even though the class started at 5 PM.

What he does makes sense, he wants us to take his class seriously but goes the wrong away about it. It is true, he has the biggest ego and is extremely full of himself. Terrible class. Grading is unfair, and exams don't match what he teaches. Most lectures are about his personal life, not the material. Pop quizzes force attendance, but it's a complete waste of time. Avoid him if possible.

An ancient, freshly excreted, mud-brown, odoriferous, unconscionable POS. Tests are on abstract material, pop quizzes are a highschool concept, and god forbid you come into class a mere 60 seconds before it starts. He's not even a real professor, he's an adjunct one. Price College has yet to hire a more deplorable character.

Bad professor. Will mark off points off your final grade if you ever try to reach out to him for any reason. Non of the course materials covered in class relate the the exams, but you still have to go because you are threatened with pop quizzes that will make or break your grade. You can't show up late or he will make a fuss in front of everyone.

He was terrible. Demeaning and cruel when you didn't know one question answer. He is test heavy and his lectures don't always relate to the tests. He also doesn't round up. I had an A the entire semester and ended with an 88 because of the final, that he moved by the way.

The professor repeats the same information during his lectures. Very biased and disrespectful. If he does not know you, he will find the way to fail you in your last group project. You can be silent in this class, but if your group performs great for the last project (you do not need even to present), you will have an easy A. I would not take him.

This professor was so mean. Frequently kicked students out of class, called people names, cussed students out, and talked about his personal life more than anything else. Honestly was scared every time I got to class about what events would unfold.
