Entertaining and if you follow the notes easy.
Well structured class and lab..Listen and you will do good.
My favorite!
Very helpful
He was very helpful and basically gives a list of test questions
He was extremely helpful. Everything that was on the test was on the study guide. If you did your part, you got the grade. Wish he taught A&P 2!
Mr. Bridges was an excellent instructor. He adds a lot of medical interest information into his lectures. He tries to make it clear what he wants from you on a test, but you had better be prepared on test day. He also seems to be able to answer a lot of questions from left field, which I always enjoy.
Don't miss class. Mr. Bridges is awesome but demanding. My favorite instructor!
Mr. Bridges was awesome! I would absolutely recommend him to anyone willing to work hard. His class is no cake walk but it is a lot of fun. You definitely earn the grade you get.
Bridges is hearing impaired. When you have a question he will need you to speak up. This causes some to be uncomfortable. He is fair, helpful and his tests are accurate. However, he does come off a little arrogant. When you get to know him you'll realize he just has a dry sense of humor. The class is hard but its mainly because of the material.
One of the finest teachers I've had in over 20 years of schooling. But don't take him if you don't want to think. You will learn and you will remember this for the rest of your life.
He's pretty tough! The first several days, I didn't like him and wanted to scream. He goes pretty fast with his lectures, but it makes sense after you go over the notes. If you review ALL of your notes and the study guides and test review sheets, you're guaranteed to do well! He's great! He's worth the challenge!
Don't really care for him personally, but he's an awesome teacher I have to give him that. He understands that everyone learns differently and he makes sure to teach everything so everyone gets it. A great introduction to anatomy.
At times he can make you feel like a real idiot. I didn't answer one of his oral questions correctly, and he dropped what he was holding in his hands while looking up at the ceiling with a "you have to be kidding me" attitude. Other than that, great professor. Course is hard just because of the material. I'd still recommend him.
Excellent instructor
Bridges is a great teacher. He really knows what he is talking about. Most people hate his attitude, but I love it. I would much rather have a teacher who is arrogant and confident in their knowledge of the material rather than not. I definitely recommend him. His test reviews make his tests SOOO much easier.
Great teacher. Very hard but knows his stuff.
Awesome Teacher. I would recommend for anyone!
He is a very good teacher, and he really cares about his students doing good. Although his demenor is intimidating at times.
Arrogant SOB
This lecturer is obnoxious, egotistical and does a poor job of teaching. He talks way too fast so it is very difficult to understand what he is saying. He knows the material very well but his teaching style is impeded because of his obnoxious and egotistical demeanor. He is also very rude to all of his students.
At first seems very helpful by encouraging his students to ask questions but when you do you are belittled. In class and online. He knows A&P like the back of his hand but can't teach it. Very negative atmosphere for learning.
Terrible instructor. Rude verbally and in writing. Critical, prone to belittling students. Understands his topic, but doesn't teach it well at all. I will NEVER take another course from this terrible instructor.
Going back for my second degree, and this professor is probably the worst professor I had. Expected us to know everything despite him being the teacher. Ended up getting an A, but this was not due to him. It was due to reading the book and going to Lab. My lab teacher was great.
I really liked him. It's a hard class anyway but he really knows what he's talking about and has cute things to help you remember information. And he's not mean or anything, he's just a military man and kind of hardcore. Just talk to him sometime. He's great. You'll learn A LOT!
Excellent teacher! Will not baby you but challenges you to think. Uses great visual aids to demonstrate concepts. Very dry sense of humor that some students don't get. Good test reviews and fair grading. Material is difficult and does require effort. I highly recommend him to the SERIOUS pre-health care student.
He's not as rough as he's been made out to be. His class isn't a cake walk and he doesn't baby students. But honestly, a good lecturer. Record his lectures. I always got more out of his lectures the second time.
Mr. Bridges is an excellent teacher! Not only his lectures are very informative, they are also interesting. In addition to being smart, knowledgeable, and energetic, he has a great sense of humor. He always explains the most difficult aspects of physiology. His notes are clear, well organized, and cover everything you need to know. If you are willi
Mr. Bridges is a very informative and animated professor. He uses slides, which are pictures from the text, but he follows his notes in order. He is well structured and intelligent, but he can give a vibe to some that may classify him as a jerk. Overall, he is an excellent teacher if you have the desire to learn!
Awesome Professor! Seriously if you can't survive his class you wont make it at UT. I got an A+ and would definitely recommend :)
I took Bridges anatomy and phisology 1 class in the summer during a four week class. It was hard and challenging but he was amazing!!! ive heard alot of bad things about him but in my opinion i wouldnt have learned without him! He is great!
Great Professor His knowledge of the subject is outstanding. If your going into the medical field and you cant handle his course, change your Major! what he teaches is the foundation for what you will use the rest of your Career. Study hard and read his notes, very orginized
I thought he talked about hypothetical situations more than he taught. The class was really tough overall and I'm not saying he was a bad teacher, but he was not a good one either. Be prepared to answer any question he asks b/c he will call on you when your hand is not raised! Very stressful.
Excellent instructor! You receive a gift if you take his courses. He actually hands you notes from each chapter. Granted you have to work for a good grade, but you will have an excellent base for any healthcare courses in the future. Responsive and enthusiastic instructor. He is there to help the student.
Talks fast. Famous quote, "by the way I just answered a ? on.." Me>>Sigh, what did he just say? Tests are 1 part scan tron & 1 page drawing/essay. BUSY WORK. Must cite everything. Many repeat students. Other students=A's Bridges students struggle. Notes/out of date with wrong pgs. Lectures=text pictures. Read ahead! Quizes on uncovered material!
Heavy course load--a case study, a quiz, an assignment due every week, sometimes even two of each. Posts notes online before class. Provides study guides, so you know exactly what material you need to study. Tests are part multiple choice/matching/essay/drawing. No extra credit because he drops a ton of grades. I recommend buying an anatomy atlas.
Very confusing in his posts and uses unclear language. Spelling is a big problem for him, and he has fairly poor grammar, leading to ambiguity. He strikes me as arrogant and condescending. Does not clarify what he expects out of students. I earned a good grade ONLY from teaching myself the material. If you must take his class, don't take it online.
Dr. Bridges is an outstanding teacher. As a nursing major, I was very interested in his class. Very funny and makes lecture fun. Expect a lot of work to be done outside of class (case studies, online quizzes and STUDYING). Material is difficult if you do not study. If you take his course, you'll be satisfied if you do what is expected.
Dr. Bridges id very intimidating at first, but he really knows his stuff. He gives really good notes, study guides, and makes class time funny. He is quite the character. He expects no nonsense, but is very helpful if you just ask. Overall he is a tough professor, but by the end of the semester you will know stuff. Work hard and it works out!
Dr. Bridges is a clear, excited, and knowledgeable teacher. To be successful in this course, you must work ahead. I have read and heard that quizzes are given on uncovered material. Lectures should follow your reading. Quizzes are assigned to encourage the reading of material before lecture.
I thought I could handle his class from the comments on here, I've had teachers that are hard on you, I prefer it because it makes me work hard. However,he is not just difficult he is rude and arrogant. He encourages questions, then makes you feel stupid, by giving no help. don't take his class online, if you must take it do it in class.
Bridges is an awesome professor, and very knowledgeable, but at the same time very difficult. Bridges has structured the whole A&P Department to where you have to teach yourself everything before coming to class, and this makes learning A&P difficult. Unless you have some prior experience with medical terminology, I would not recommend Bridges.
Dr. Bridges is a very thorough and fair professor. While his class is difficult, particularly in summer session, he works to be sure everyone grasps the information he is presenting. Interesting lecturer. Gives very good examples and visuals in helping students learn and remember. He provides excellent notes and study guides. Much work.
Dr. Bridges is a fair professor. A&P itself is a difficult course, however he didn't now exactly help me to understand. I found that the textbook was more clear than his lectures. If you're ready to read and spend half your life studying, go with him. If not, I would highly recommend another professor. I most likely wouldn't take his class again.
Mr. Bridges class is hard but making an A is possible. He makes things very clear durring lecture by using examples and interacting with the class. Make sure to do the test and chapter reviews the test is very similar to them. All notes are posted online.
This class is hard just because of the nature of the material, but Dr. Bridges is a good teacher. Expectations are clear. He is a REALLY hard grader on case studies, but if you follow ALL of the instructions it isn't impossible to do well. He puts study guides¬es online-USE THEM! Almost all the test questions are on the study guide in some form.
Look, don't take this guy online unless you have some Biology knowledge. I made a great grade because I had 100X better teachers before him. He'll help you out, but he'll take a shot at you when doing it. He's not clear on what he wants at times, and then gets mad when you mess up his crazy online agenda. Needs to be more clear less jerk JMO
Dr. Bridges is an awesome professor. He is enthusiastic about the subject. His lectures include great tips for learning and remembering the content. The material is tough but if you use the notes, study guide, and test review sheets that he provides, you will do well. It is possible to get an A in his class if you complete assignments and study.
Made a B+ but was robbed of an A. He says use your book then claims the book is wrong in our group project. He did this on more than one person and multiple times. He always has to be right and won't change his mind on anything. Even though it's a tough subject, he doesn't have to be a jerk to everyone. If he was nice it would be a good class
Dr Bridges has very clear cut expectations for someone going into the medical field. If you cannot do well in his class rethink your career choices. DO not take him if you just need a science for another major. IF you do want to learn from one of the most knowledgeable professors on the campus the he is it. He has a very dry sense of humor.
Bridges is an awesome professor! I Failed the first time because of my own laziness. It is a tough one and he makes sure you know the material. Now that I am in Nursing School I am forever grateful for him!
Grades tough and wants you to be specific but not too specific. Doesn't curve because he is head of A&P department.
Dr. Bridges is very blunt and straigh to the point. If you don't have enough detain in discussion posts or type something in the wrong spot he doesn't let you know you did it wrong, instead he questions why you did it that way. However he is very helpful in clarifying an answer. He provides study guides which were AMAZING and LOTS of quizzes.
I took this class and I'm not a science major at all. I worked really hard and studied, but I made an A. People think he is a jerk, but if you work hard you will learn a lot and his lectures make a lot of sense. If I can do it and not even be good at science, you can too.
Is a great teacher but your grade is all on you. If you don't bother to show for class or turn in assignments then you will not pass. He is a very good teacher he helps by giving notes and study guides. I will recommend him to anyone!!!
Ron Bridges is an amazing teacher. He knows his stuff. If you put effort into this class you can get an A. He gives lots of homework (case studies) and online quizzes but they are not too challenging. His notes and study guides are what you should study for he does not use the textbook too much. SI sessions will help you pass this class.
Worst possible summer course. Bridges enjoys talking about himself, but could care less about you. Try to relate to him, and he will shoot it down. Not willing to help you if you are lost. HORRIBLE lectures. Hard to keep up and take notes. Always be prepared to stay the ENTIRE 3 hours of lecture AND lab. Tons of Homework every single night.
I really enjoyed Dr. Bridges class, I took his Anatomy and Physiology 1 class loved every second of it. I do recommend having a background in medical classes or at least some prior knowledge of the body before going into this class.
Not an easy class, but he will give you everything you need to pass the class with an A (multiple study guides for each test). You show you want the A he will help you. Big group project at the end so choose group wisely. I recommend this class for all nursing students since he bases his class on real life situations with case studies.
Hands down the best professor I've had. The class is not easy, but he is very passionate about anatomy and it comes through in his lectures. He is very clear about what is expected, and provides great outlines and study guides that are very useful for exams. You will come away from his class with a very good understanding of anatomy!
Dr. Bridges was an excellent teacher in the aspect of really making you work for your grade. If you truly want a good grade, and the effort that you put in match that will and want for that grade, then he will make it happen. Otherwise, if you skip class and pout about how 'hard' he is, you will surely be overwhelmed. Great teacher.
Dr. Bridges is pretty funny, which is good because sometimes it's hard to stay awake during a monotonous lecture. He does tend to fly through the lectures, so you're going to want to read and take notes before class. The case studies can be challenging; you must be very specific. He knows what he's doing and seems very passionate about A&P.
Dr. Bridges is a great/smart professor, however he lacks compassion for his students. He knows the material so well (duh) but he has a hard time understanding that as student we don't know it as well as he does. He is the HARDEST grader and has a lot of exams. For example, we have a test and then the final exam minutes after, talk about harsh.
Great instructor. funny and really knows his stuff! consider any comments you see about him as an emotional reaction to the level of work required. He isnt there to spoon feed students, this class is for the health professionals and if you cant hack his class you surely don't need to be working on people.
Dr. Bridges mostly knows his stuff. However, his class is a mess. His lectures are messy and never to the point. The tests are hard, but he tells you what is important to know. He will not curve your grade, but he drops a ton of quizzes to make up for it.
He's brilliant and challenging, kind and tough. He's very knowledgeable about the subject and can answer anything. You'll learn A&P but also diagnosing illnesses, interesting tidbits related to the topics, and he's great to use participation and pool noodles to demonstrate complicated ideas. I worked hard for my B, but he made me better.
Lecture and lab - Dr. B is a tough professor, no doubt. He gives 110% and he expects his students to do the same. However, he is fair, gives study guides that have everything you need to know for the tests, and gives plenty of case studies and quizzes to help your grade. A++++++++
I am a nursing student and had Dr. Bridges for Anatomy and Physiology 1 Lab. He is tough but is an excellent teacher. I wish that I had been able to have him for lecture as well. His lectures include him pointing things out on the models. He teaches to all learning styles which I found helpful because I am a kinesthetic learner. Great teacher!
I had Dr. Bridges for A&P lab. He expects you to learn as much as you can from the lab manual before coming to class. You will be quizzed on it, then he expands on it in lab. Hes a little intimidating at first. I learned it very well because of his high expectations for students.
Alright, so I had Ron for summer 2 for a&p2. although it was a summer class and it obviously had to be fast, he made it borderline impossible. he would expect us to learn way more than was even covered on the exams. quizzes, comp projects, case studies are hard, expects us to basically already be doctors. do yourself a favor and do not take him.
Dr Bridges is a hard teacher. He goes over a lot of material. His lecture class is hard, his tests are hard as well. His lab class is basically self guided. He does give you the material you need as well as a lot more information.
During Dr. Bridges lecture (A&P I), I felt overwhelmed. Looking back now, even though it was tough, he was a great instructor. He is kind of long-winded, but if you listen, he will tell you everything you need to know for tests. His outline notes are fantastic, and helped me spend less time writing and more time listening during his lectures.
Horrible
Going into college you have to teach yourself a lot so be prepared for that. Bridges is definitely tough but he gives great test resources like study checks study guides sways and narrated tutorials USE THEM. The lectures and notes are thorough and he keeps the class active and engaged. Remember that A&P itself is tough don't blame the professor :)
Incredible professor! Go to class, follow his notes, and do the study guides and you will do well in his class. His test are easy to follow. He gives good study hints too.
Dr. Bridges is awesome! He is intimidating at first, but it gets better. His study guides are GREAT. If you want to pass, do the study guides, go through the sways, and listen. He wants you to succeed + gives you everything you need. Schedule time to study outside of class every week and you will do awesome! Wish I could take him for ap2.
Dr. Bridges is ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! He is great at helping you really understand the material, and his study guides go right along with his tests. He also provides so many videos and study checks (which you can take an unlimited amount of times). I highly recommend him, he is THE BEST A&P professor I have ever had!
Skip this sketchy know it all. He thinks he is above you and will deliberately help you not be successful, RUN
I feel like he gets a bad rap, but I thought he taught really well. I had him for lecture and lab and I learned a lot. First day of class he can seem intimidating because he does quizzes at the beginning of each class, but he drops a lot of grades, so you can still get a good grade.
Bridges was a fantastic A&P teacher. I had him for both Lecture and Lab, and in both I was always greeted by a man ready to teach. He was thorough and always dug deeper into the more difficult subjects to better our understanding. While I felt as though he was a better lab teacher, his lectures were great opportunities as well.
He would be an amazing teacher if he did not do a lot of homework. He claims the work he assigns will help, but in reality, it sets you back so much. If I could, I would've taken lecture online and lab in person.
He's a good professor, but a lot of the time, people underestimate the course and overestimate themselves. Anatomy is hard, so just read the textbook, work the study guides, and take advantage of all the points you can get. Try your best, and don't blame your failures on professors.
This professor legit reads off slides then expects you to understand all the material within a week. A&P is obviously a hard class, but he spends more time talking about his military background than actually teaching. This professor genuinely does not care if you pass or not. He shames you if you are not studying over 20 hours each week. RUN.
I may not have done well in the class, but I don't think that should entirely him. It was overwhelming considering the number of tests, but If you study properly you will do well. He gives a lot of homework but they are pretty helpful to the material on the tests. His teaching style was mostly lectures + doesn't give slides online.
I would not recommend taking this professor. All he did was read off slides in lecture, very fast, and get mad at you for taking pictures of the slides. I never had an opportunity to get the information off the slides. He had unclear grading criteria and I never felt prepared for any tests. He also made very inappropriate and uncalled for comments.
Very egotistical professor. Goes through slides fast & doesn't post them. Says things incorrect and when asked pretends he "never said that". Does not care about the actual education received by the students. Incredibly disrespectful to those trying to learn and having trouble in the course. Wanted to give him a shot but bad reviews were right.
Enjoyed the class! Anatomy is intimidating and Professor Bridges is too. A few weeks in and it isn't as scary as it seems. The quizzes are similar to the tests and all of the homework is helpful, not just busy work. The class is a lot of pressure and extremely fast paced but it is manageable.
Going to your lecture is honestly a waste of your time. He doesn't teach he reads off his power point that contains probably 10% of the information he will be testing you on. It's very fast paced you'll have 2 lectures before a chapter test and your review will be 6 pages long most of the information he didn't cover during the class.
