Leads very engaging debates, well-educated, charismatic
This the hardest class that I took here but I think that I learned the most from this class.
Very intelligent...gets eveyone involved in class discussion. Tests are challenging.
A ham, a wit, a stitch. Half of the time he's tanglin' with his students. The other half he's cowering from the bibles they're lobbin' at him. Then he retorts. And so on. Lively, content-rich classes.
The test were difficult, but the class was one of my favorite and I learned alot from the class.
This man is the greatest teacher I have ever came across...A genius I tell you, a GENUIS!
Tends to cuss alot.
Great teach! Good job Mr. C!

I HATE THIS MAN! HE IS EVIL AND SHOULD BE FIRED. HIS POP QUIZZES YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY PASS AND HIS TESTS ARE ASSININE!!!!!!!!!! I HATE HIM AND WOULD NEVER EVER RECCOMEND ANYONE TAKE THIS JERK FACE!:(-
Very though provoking and will work with you even when he disagrees with your views

Dr. Cooper is an excellent professor. Taking his class means you will have to work hard, pay attention, and show up for class. He definitely will not tolerate tardy or absent students. If help is needed, he is more than willing to take time and explain the material.
His tests were hard but he was one of the best teachers I've ever had. He makes you ask yourself questions you never thought to ask and re-ask the one's you thought you knew. I still keep in touch with him after 6 years in case I have any questions. Very, very intelligent and cynical(in a good way). It changed my life.
To not like Dr. Cooper is to be very close-minded. I have never explored such aspects of life before. What an experience so far. Dr. Cooper is very helpful and encourages you to talk with him anytime. The class is not hard, show up and participate. The tests, you get what you earned. I would gladly take another class with Dr. Cooper.
Dr. Cooper is a professor that knows his subjects inside and out. He's very fair and makes class fun. This professor jokes a lot and does not mind curse words. Becareful! He will not like it if you walk in tardy. He's very serious about punctuality.
He is full of knowledge but his discussions drag onto topics that don't really help you on test. study hard for test because he uses Tittle and Doepke for his questions. Half the test is an essay(25 pts). You have to write 2 research papers. As for the professor, he talks fast so it's hard to understand-country accent. don't advice you to take him.
Huge sense of humor. Class is almost always funny.
If you don't like a challenge, don't take this class! Dr. Cooper did a great job helping me understand the chapters but it's alot of work and you gotta want to want to work hard for this class. He's a good teacher but the class is hard.
Dr. Cooper is a spectacual teacher. He has a very dry sense of humor and for God's sake do not be late to his class, he is extremetly anal about punctuality, as he has evry right to be. He is clear about his expectations and rewards hard work. Make no doubt about it, the class is very challenging, but rewarding, I give him an A+++
Do not take this class if you don't want to be challenged. He changed my life. Literally. Makes you question conventional wisdom and why you believe what you think you know. He would still answer my questions years after I took his class. Take him if you want to really learn something about the world around you.
Dedicated, funny, and passionate. If you participate in the discussions, YOU WILL?despite your test scores?RECEIVE AN A (just don't come in late).
Laughed my butt off in every class. This guy is GREAT. Very clear in all his directions and NO essays assigned. Take him for every humanities class (except REL2300) that you can - you will not regret it.
Greatest Professor Ive Ever Had. Extremely Funny, But No Study Guides And Not All Of The Lecture Material Appears On The Tests. Overall Just Dont Be LATE And You Will Have Lost Of Fun If You Participate
Great teacher... even though I only made a "B". I had poor attendance because I was sick and preggers. He is also way sexy if you are turned on my men who flaunt their intelligence and have a great sense of humor. Married though.
Took MR. Cooper for Intro to Ethics, His class is very interesting and funny as Hell. All test material is taken from lecture, no book was used. Test were not the easiest but not the hardest either.. i would take him for another class. Don't be Late for Class!!!
He was great! Attendance is a must to pass this class since it's only tests with no assignments! He also hates when people are late. All you have to do to pass this class is show up, listen to lectures and take notes and the test are exactly from the notes. He's also very funny and I recommend this class.
AMAZING teacher/class!!! I took this class 7 years ago; although my academic record says I got a "B", I don't remember the tests or the quizzes... What I do remember are the insightful discussions, lectures and concepts which made me question everything I never before stopped to ponder. Awesome, awesome, awesome!
I can't remember if I already commented! But this class was my absolute favorite!!! He's an AWESOME professor and has a great sense of humor. Just DO NOT BE LATE, as he will make fun of you in front of class, and if you listen and participate in discussions, tests will be easy and you will get an A like me! I LOVED this class!!!
Mr. Cooper is HOT!!!!! He is soooooo funny! I love going to his class. Wonderful teacher!
Awesome teacher, love his classes. Talks fast so pay attention. The fact that he is eye candy just makes the class period that much nicer :)
Show up to class, take notes on everything he says. The tests are lecture based. Be interested and you will get an A. Very funny, helps because the material can be dry.
Too sarcastic and likes to humilate students. frequently wanders from sbject matter and lacks concentration. Do not ask a question unless you have a good sense of humor because he likes to make your question seem stupid. funny, but I am not paying for comedy. I can go to a comedy show if I want to laugh and not learn anything useful.
Fun class, extra credit available, be punctual, and take notes or bring a recorder. Dr. Cooper was hilarious and made the class interesting at the same time with his sense of humor. I would definitely recommend taking this course!!
Funny and easy. No homework, i barely read the book was working 40 hours a week and had a stacked schedule and passed with a c. If you put a little effort you cand easily make a B. He may confuse you if you're late on the first day and act like its spanish all of a sudden. He should be a comedian.
make sure u b on time n do all the extra credit n u will pass his class
good teacher, tests kinda hard, and hes sometimes too smart.
I absolutely LOVED Dr.Coopers class..He makes learning history fun. If you ever have ANY questions or if there is something that you just don't get, go and see him in his office. He is always willing to help you, better understand the material. I look forward to taking one of his other classes.
An amazingly fun instructor. Listen, take good notes and ask question if unsure. Seriously, he was enjoyable...it's like listening to stories! He make himself available t you!!! AAAAAAA. You rock Dr. Cooper!
Very fair and interesting.
I took him for Religion. I feel like he contradicts himself. He tells students to not sermonize, although I believe he does. He is very hard when it comes to grading papers. Another thing I did nit like was the fact that he made people sound stupid when they put their opinion in. He thinks students should know the material already.
Class can be boring but not with Dr.Cooper. He makes the class enjoyable with his stories regarding the lecture. Recommend tape recorder, he does like to talk and fast. Test are all class discussion. Come to class e/d, participate if you can and you'll be good. I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. I recommend him in a heart beat for Humanities.
I am really going to miss this class. I actually looked forward to his lectures. I recommend that not only should you take notes, but record the lectures as well. Also, do all the extra credit you possibly can. Don't be late to class and speak up every now and then.
The freckin' best teacher EVER!! I wish he taught Methology Honors!! He sets the bar high of other Humanities Professors. He makes learning fun and interesting.
Do not recommend, acts like it is a Harvard class. I got an A in freshman comp and a B+ in freshman comp 2. But I still would get Cs on the papers, even the last one I had a past teacher look at and say it was good, and got a C.
Course covers a lot of material and it's on the multi ans test scantron. Great teacher, kept it intersting & learned a lot. Tests from class notes, u must attend class to pass. DO NOT COME IN LATE-special seats & sign in sheet if u r. A jokester in class & on tests. Definitey take him-you'll love the class. 50 question tests - STUDY.
I love Mr. Coop! He is a great professor. I highly recommend a recorder because he does talk fast and take notes. Do those things and you'll be good.
Took this class online during the summer. It was difficult because the book was hard to follow. The test questions were very in depth and hard to answer because they were tricky. Might have been better to take this in class so that I had the lectures to go off of for the tests.
Totally Opposes The Bible. Tests Are All Multiple-Choice. Keeps Class Interesting. Likes Debating.
Clear and helpful in many ways
Funny! Great teacher. Don't be late. Very helpful.
Dr.Cooper is DA BOOOOMB! Take his class. Take it! He's so funny. Everything he explains is on the test which is multiple choice. So if you listen and take notes you are set. Best teacher so far this year.
Dr. Cooper is a great teacher. He is fun and very interactive and does a great job making the coursework interesting.
Dr. Cooper is really funny! Usually I can't pay attention during lectures but he makes them interesting and holds my attention almost the entire time. It's important to take good notes and study them. If you study what he teaches in class then you don't really need to read the lessons. I'm going to miss this class.
I recommend paying attention and studying for the tests. He only gives 4 and no other work! He does give extra crsedit opportunities. He does show lots of artwork that will be on the test. I took pictures and recorded every class.
Ron will make you fully believe one aspect of philosophy and in the same discussion make you believe the opposing. He has a way of captivating you so that all attention is on him. Very easy going. A brilliant man. Unbelievably passionate. A great class from the beginning!
Make sure you write down everything he says, you'll thank yourself when taking the test online. You don't need the book so don't bother buying it.Cooper does a great job at making class interesting and he will have a response weather it is sarcastic or true to say to whatever you have to say.
Mr. Cooper is the best teacher at cf. He literally is my favorite teacher, hes sarcastic, makes the class fun and will help you no matter what. I love him. Get him! You won't regret it. His tests are hard but hes a fantastic teacher
Great teacher, just write down every word he puts on the board or repeats. Thats an A.
Show up to every class, guaranteed A. Take careful notes on everything that comes out his mouth.
Dr. Cooper is very funny and will definitely keep your attention. The class is easy. Be prepared, though, that he loves to make fun of students and make them look stupid. Completely against religion and will will try to humiliate you if you are Christian. Goes off topic a lot and likes to argue with students about irrelevant things.
I'm dual enrolled and this class was super easy! There were only four tests all 50 questions multiple choice, and he gives so much extra credit. I would recommend getting an older book on Amazon, it'll only be $12 instead of hundreds, and you only use it to look at pictures. I would take his class again.
Best part of his class is that his readings are all posted online. Mostly short 1 to 2 page reads. Only 2 long reads 7-14 pages max. Plus plenty of extra credit opportunities. Fun classes, plus there is one or two free days, or, movies as he calls them.
This class was deff. not one of my favorites. But it had to do with the fact that i was taking it at 8 in the morning. But as long as you listen, ask questions and take notes you will do fine. Loved his silliness, and his extra credit opportunities.
Had him for philosophy online. We didn't buy a book, all of the readings were posted on ANGEL. The readings were very long and hard to understand. Sparknotes helped a little but not much. We had to write two papers. He gives feedback to all discussion posts to help you grasp the meaning. His tests are based on readings and kinda hard.
Tests are hard and have essays but he is pretty generous with those. Sarcastic and funny - just read the confusing material lol
The course I took him for Ethics did not have an easy subject matter. They were difficult concepts to understand but his repetition of different types of examples helped a ton He does talk kinda fast so I recommend recording his lectures. There are no graded assignments only readings which are pretty essential. Few test and not too difficult
I took Cooper for Humanities and he was super easy so I figured the same for Comparative Religion but I was wrong. He is extremely tough on grading essays and the final is quite difficult compared to the other tests given throughout the course. Online was somewhat difficult because the text book was not very clear about the concepts tested.
Dr. Cooper's lectures were one of the best I've had. He is funny and despite having boring material to learn he makes it seem interesting. He is very helpful and enthusiastic about what he teaches.
Coop is a very very funny man. he make me laugh,I be happy Mr. Ron talk. He make you write alot of stuff and give the a,b,c,d, tests i do good with him I love him and that cutey smile he have. He smart too and wears tree shirts like my daddy. He my favorite teacher he make learning fun and he a Dr, not like Dre, a real Dr of something he knew when
All you do is read the paper he gives on Canvas and answer the questions on the discussion board. The tests are not even relevant to the discussion boards, the tests are multiply choice and you have to do a essay at the end, which is timed. Regret taking this teacher.
He made an 8 am class worth going to, he's funny and makes Humanities interesting. His tests aren't too tough, as long as you take notes you should pass. He usually writes important concepts on the dry erase board which tells you what to study.
Prof. Cooper is really awesome. Make sure you go to class. He will tell you, literally, everything that is on the test. He's funny and sarcastic. He always puts 2-3 nonsensical questions on his tests which lighten the load. Not easy concepts but he explains them well and encourages questions. Love this guy. Would definitely take his class again!
Cooper is hilarious, offers really easy extra credit. He is a very intelligent man who loves what he teachers!
His class is really easy. Go to every class. Write down everything he says. Put a star next to anything he repeats, writes down, and what he goes over at the beginning of class the next day. The book is only used for pictures, getting an older one is cheaper.
I feel this class needs to be taken in person-not because of anything the professor did or didn't do- He gets his point across I just feel HE WOULD BE EVEN BETTER IN PERSON!! This class is hard and very fast pace. Put your thinking caps on and be prepared to get involved, participation is mandatory and a HUGE part of your grade. Extra credit avail.
Not a very good course. If Cooper was alone in his office he still wouldnt be the smartest person in the room. He likes to think hes smart and witty. But not very much so. Kind of a sad attempt
Save yourself some time aggravation and money Ron Cooper is not a very good professor do yourself a favor take somebody else. Runaway
Professor Cooper is definitely not very inspiring. Most of the time he just wants you to see how smart he is, and thats not vary. Stay away take somebody else. Cooper is a typical CF crappy professor Who spends his time trying to build up his own ego. Lame course
Terrible course youre pretty much set up to get a C Or less right from the beginning. Online tests are multiple-choice and then a 400 word essay that is worth 25 points and timed. Everything about this course is set up for the student to fail, that says a lot about how terrible of a Professor Cooper is. Take somebody else.
Great professor! Knows a lot, keeps lectures interesting with jokes and humor. Some of his comments might seem critical of religion, but he's just very humanistic, scholar about it. Feels like a general culture class. No assignments, just a couple of papers, multiple choice exams of what he talks. Easy A if you just read & take notes.
I would take this class again if I could. Total of 4 tests for the semester, no other graded work. Offers 5 points extra credit on each exam. Write everything down, RECORD his class & listen to it again before test, make note on repeated info. Cooper is hilarious and will crack jokes, religion is made fun of but it doesn't take away from the class
Professor Cooper has been my favorite professor I've taken while attending CF. Super passionate, witty, and overall interesting guy! Very understanding and has extra credit options! I would definitely recommend him and if you did not take him, you're missing out on a great experience! As long as you put effort into your work, you will pass.
On his online class he requires one discussion post a week which is worth 25% of your grade. But the exams are 75% of your grade which in my opinion isnt fair. Also he doesnt release his grades until the end of the semester.
There is a lot of reading and 75% of the class is all tests. There are opportunities for extra credit, and they are usually pretty easy. He is easy to get in contact with and usually provides good feedback. Dont take this class online if you usually need deep explanations. Not the hardest class I took, but not easy either.
The only grading criteria are three tests and the final. There is a group discussion every week that you must participate in, but it's not worth a grade. I did not have much interaction with him, but he did not come off as very friendly when I did. He loves what he teaches, but the way the class is set up is not the best.
Professor Cooper's class was a great experience. His lecture notes were very helpful in studying for exams, and he provided many extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. He was also very understanding because we had to be online because of COVID.
Sure it was a challenge and sure he was very sarcastic. But once again he treats us like adults. He gave us the syllabus and expect us to follow it. In most cases, it was the case that people didn't read it. He didn't set us up for failure but students did that on their own terms since he gave us everything we need. Overall his class was alright.
If you need organization, do not take his class. There was not a textbook for this class but I sure wish there was because we learned off of notes that were so hard to follow. He has a discussion every week and he replies to EVERY post and most responses are so harsh and just make you feel stupid. He is an awful professor. He is very opinionated.
Professor Cooper is Hilarious! He has a very strong sense of humor so pre-warning. You have no homework in his class and are graded only off of participation/attendance and tests. Overall the class was not hard but the test questions were a little confusing. I feel like his class is fairly easy as long as you pay attention to the lectures.
This professor was super nice, and his class was easy. I have taken Humanities twice because I failed the first with another professor who asked for an incredible amount of work. Professor Cooper made everything easy and as long as you did the discussions and read the material he gives you, it's easy to pass.
Discussion post and exam heavy class. He does not give homework, all that is required is to do the reading and reply to the discussion prompt, 4 exams ( including the final). He does reply to every discussion post and gives feedback, often they are helpful to understand the reading, if you did not get it and helps for the exams.
Cooper has a great sense of humor, and even while stressing for the test, he would add jokes to help break up the test and helps refresh the mind. He also gives you the text so that you don't have to buy any books, and can also read his notes to help you understand the reading. The discussion posts are useful too, helps us understand the text more.
Easily the funniest professor at CF. Makes jokes in class all the time to help lighten the mood since philosophy is pretty boring. 4 tests plus a final. Each test was 25 questions and an optional essay question. Tests were difficult, but one question is always something super easy. He also offers lots of extra credit to boost poor test grades.
Get ready to teach yourself. The final test is also a timed exam which is unfair in my opinion.
Being a humanities class it was easy, but on top of that 50% ish of the grade was just showing up to the class. Also he clearly cares.
The tests were the only grade, he did provide extra credit after each test. The tests were very easy and straight out of the notes
Professor Cooper keeps things lively with his great sense of humor. While the exams can be challenging, he offers plenty of extra credit opportunities. unstuck ai was a huge help for test prep - definitely recommend giving it a try!
He's the rudest professor I've had. I asked him, very politely, if there was any way he could open the final exam for me because it was open for three days. When the other exams we had were open for weeks. He told me to "check the syllabus, and tell me what you found." So I freaking failed the course. Worst professor I've had.
I took his HUM1020 it was honestly one of the most easiest class i could have taken. His test are NOT hard at all and come straight from the textbook, that he provided on canvas. If i had to take HUM1020 again it would definitely be with Cooper.
Dr.Cooper was a great professor, and I would take one of his classes again.Only graded by tests, which the lowest one is dropped. He is super funny and tries to keep the class entertaining. The tests are easy as long as you do the reading.Overall, if your looking for an easy class to satisfy part of your degree requirements, this is the guy to take.
This class is heavily graded by a handful of multiple choice exams and, to a lesser degree, discussion board posts. All the readings are available within Canvas so you don't have to buy a textbook. You will have to read a substantial amount to pass this class. Overall not too difficult but you'll have to do the readings in order to pass.
I took this professor online and he is great! We were graded on discussions and tests (none of which were too difficult, just complete the readings). His posts/descriptions were hilarious, but also very interesting. It's a class that really gets you thinking and Professor Cooper is not afraid to make it an enjoyable experience!
You are graded on discussions and (4) tests. All you have to do is complete the readings! This professor is hilarious in his descriptions and makes the subject truly fun and interesting. The discussions allow students to both learn from the readings and come to personal conclusions freely with the ability to share. I'd recommend this professor!
