Lots of in-depth reading and writing, but a good teacher.

Overall attitude is helping any student that asks/needs it, no matter how far behind. Great attitude, good grip on reality.

He is never too busy to help and is very good with students who are behind as well as giving encouragement to those who are pushing the envelope! Overall, he has a very nice easy-going personality which leaves a lasting impression! Very relaxed!

Taking Pace/Online class. Very time consuming. Tons of reading; 4 essays in 8 weeks; online postings about reading; midterm; final. Must be very disciplined to do well and have a good comprehension of all material read. Nice guy.

PACE online class could get a bit dry at times; I thoroughly enjoyed the on-campus meetings because of his attitude about teaching and life in general. Midterm and final were VERY extensive, pretty much takes two hours each. Not a hard grader, very agreeable. Take him!!!

I had such a great time in his 101 class that I took him again for 102. SHe is an awesome teacher. I already love the subject but he made it even better. He was always willing to answer questions and never made you feel dumb. He is just an awesome teacher and hot to boot.

very easy online course, just takes a lot of time.

He was a great instructor, but the class was way too easy for a college level english class.

Coming off of an EXTREMELY easy 101 class, I didn't expect this class to be very difficult, especially because it was an online class. I was wrong. Dreiling's class made me work. Really WORK. But he's extremely helpful. I can't say how much he helped my skills in English. If you need good English help, write the essays and TALK to Ron. But be prepared to work.

He's an awesome teacher. There is a lot of work involved, but he doesn't grade very hard, and if you put a little effort in you'll do well. Just be prepared to write a lot of essays!

Dreiling is a great teacher. I had him for English 102. He expects a lot of work from student but is a fair grader. Kind of. I think I should have had a A, but he gave me a B.

Ron, is an excellent teacher. He is very clear and very helpful. Before taking English 101 with him, I used to hate English but now I actually like it and that is why I decided to take a second English class with him. He is awsome. I recommend him to any student who needs to take English but does not like the subject or feels intimidated by it.

He is great!!! I loved his class because he makes it very interesting. It is almost imposible to get distracted during class. I took English 101 through the PACE program and it was awsome. If you need to take an English class, take him. I guarantee you that you won't be disappointed.

Ron is an awesome teacher! I took 101 as a PACE class thinking it would be a breeze, iI was very confident in my writing skills. I had no idea how little I knew! I really learned alot! He managed to challange me without overwhelming me. Very fun class but be prepared to work! You have to do your work with him!!!

I took Ron's summer online class-4 essays,mid and final.The class was enjoyable-Ron had a great attitude and his grading was thorough and very fair.However,if you work fulltime,be prepared to eat,sleep and breathe essay writing if you want an A! Also,just a personal opinion but final and mid had WAY TOO MANY essay ?'s.Tests were over 8 pages long!

This guy is pretty good. The only thing is that he takes a long time to say anything. Also his quizzes re FULL of trick questions. READ EVERYTHING HE ASSIGNS because you dont know when he will quiz you. But you can tell he wants to help...he just wants to reward those who put in effort.

Professor Dreiling conducts his online courses with remarkable professionalism. Other online teachers should take notes! Students come first. He assigns interesting stories, asks relevant questions, and provides kind and constructive feedback. He also promptly answers e-mails! As with all English courses, essays, mids and finals are tough.

Just finished Professor Dreiling PACE English 101 class. He was a very good teacher, he knows his stuff. He answered all emails promptly. There is a lot of work 4 essays mid term, final and besides all weekly online work. Grades fairly and explains what he is looking for in your writing. I would recommend take him for PACE English 101.

Professor Dreiling is a really nice guy. As a teacher, he took a long time to spit things out and ended up lecturing about nothing really at all. I am a very attentive student, and I found it very hard to stay interested and often got really tired. I usually don't have that problem. He tries to help but his quizes kill. Make sure you READ EVERYTHIN

I like him! I took his hybrid class and it was not "easy" but it was manageable. I got an A, writing is not my best subject, but I did well. if you participate in the discussion boards, you will pass. just do everything that is requested. He is Funny and interesting. Great teacher!!

Professor is very clear and helpful. Sticks to the subject and throughs in some jokes here and there. Class is not difficult, but you must read the short essays from the text! there are a lot of quizes on the readings which can either make or break the grade you earn.

Dreiling is a teaching professional. He's organized, prepared, and totally focused on student learning. I learned more about writing from him in one semester than I did from all my other English teachers combined.

I took his online class and it was so easy! As long as you read you will do well. He is also pretty lenient on grading the essays if you follow his instructions. You should know how to write a good essay before you take his class. Responds to e-mails quickly and gives you feedback on discussion baords.

Hands down, the BEST professor I have ever had!!! He is extremely intelligent & passionate about what he is teaching, & he cares about his students. Makes the class fun & constantly makes students laugh. His class requires some work, however you will learn A LOT. He always offers help & is very clear. Grades very fair. Ron is a solid professor who teaches you more than just how to write an essay. His class takes some effort so if you're looking for a "daddy paid my tuition easy A" class this isn't it. You have 4 essays, multiple quizes on the readings and some discussions on blackboard. He's awesome. If you're focused and can work a little, take Ron.

teacher is pretty fair, online class is easy over all, but since you are not ever face to face you cant really pick up on his style of writing , very good with emailing back and keeping in touch and very understanding and helpful over all good prof.

I took the pace class its tough and not for slackers, the papers will require you to research and work you behind off, after doing all of that I got a B and I'm telling you that was not easy. Hes so interesting though and the books are awesome, he tries to get you to think and that's a good asset for a college student.

Great teacher. One of the best I've had. If you put in the time, take his advice, and DON'T FALL ASLEEP IN HIS CLASS (which isn't asking much) then he'll genuinely like you. Some topics he's required to teach are tedious at times, but just do well on the essays; they are the bulk of your grade. Oh, and study for quizzes.

English 102 isn't the easiest class, but with some dedication and effort I ended up getting a B. The text isn't essential to the class, but I recommend attending class otherwise you might be lost when it comes time to write the papers. Great teacher. Good sense of humor, truly dedicated, and always willing to put in the time to help a student. Really a nice guy and genuinely cares about his students. I had him for another class prior to taking 101, and I planned my entire semester schedule around his 101 class, so that tells you that I really like being in his classes.

This professor really cares about those students who really try. Although he doesn't grade effort, he takes it under consideration. Make sure to do all the readings but don't skim through pages. He has many quizzes that add up. Overall he is good teacher, he has interesting lectures, and he picks good books to read.

He is a great professor and his class is really easy if you do the work assigned. Make sure to carefully read each assignment as all of his quizzes do add up and the questions are detailed. If you do the work and show up to class he makes it easy to pass the class.

Mr. Dreling is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Very, very helpful. If you don't attend his class you are going to miss out on stuff, so try not too. He makes jokes that make the class laugh which is pretty cool. I loved his class and would recomend him to anyone! He was dope!

Great professor. A decent amount of reading and blackboard assignments are not easy. Includes something for everybody in the readings. He grades the essays very strictly; make sure your writing is logical and free of any spelling/grammar errors. Has a cool teaching style and made me want to do the assignments even though I hate English classes.

Great professor. Constant reading before every class, but besides that, not many assignments outside of class. He grades his essay very hard, but will work you with on anything in the semester.

Pretty good teacher. Just wouldn't recommend taking him for a morning class...he's nice enough and everything, but his personality is too over the top. Show up for class, because he always gives little in class assignments. Grades sorta harsh on essays. Wouldn't take his class if you work, even part time. I learned that lesson the hard way.

I took his Online 102 class. It was by no means easy, but by no means impossible. He truly cares and is always willing to help. You will have to earn a good grade, so if you're lazy, he is not for you, but a good grade is very possible. Grades first essays harder than the last couple, but regardless he expects quality work. I recommend him!

Took English 102 online and it was fantastic. He was clear with his intent and very specific to what he was looking for in essays. Grading was fair and he communicated well. It wasn't a breeze but as long as you read the assigned reading you would have no trouble with the essays or the quizzes. Highly Recommend.

Took the online winter intersession. He is a wonderful and helpful professor. He appreciates hard work and rewards it. He responds to emails promptly and helps students keep on track. Even though the winter semester is crazy, he made it enjoyable. If you can, take him for 102!!

This teacher is clear with what he wants from the class but you literally have to do every assignment to get an A in his class. He grades incredibly hard on essays! Almost impossible to get a solid A on an essay!

Wow, absolutely loved his 102 class. Changed my perspective on the world (As cheesy as it sounds). Seriously if you have the opportunity take this guy's 102 class, attend everyday, actually listen to his lectures, learn something about English and just maybe about life.

Amazing professor!! He is very clear and repeats himself about what he expect from his students. He gives a great amount of reading for hw but it helps with the essays. It can be a difficult class if you're lazy but if you do the work he will maker a greater student!

This Prof is an awesome guy, he teach with clarity and good sense of purpose. He could appear tough to lazy student because he chunk out assignments at end of every lecture and awards grade on all. He is a great instructor to have. I recommend him highly.

Ron Dreiling is the best professor I have had thus far. His English 102 online course offered a lot of interesting readings. I have always said English is my least favorite subject but he chooses pieces of work that are really interesting. As long as you follow the prompts and make an effort you can ace his assignments and class. I highly recommend

Such a good teacher! He really does know his stuff! He is also a great guy, not intimidating at all. He is flexible with you if you communicate regularly and physically attend the majority of the time. He also has a sense of humor! I would definitely take one of his courses again

5 week summer intense course. If you are a descent writer, it's worth getting it done. I hired tutor since it was on-line. He did respond to e-mails very promptly. He is very reasonable if you communicate. Do every assignment and he will give you almost full credit.

I took english 101 and 102 with Ron Dreiling. Great guy!!! expect a lot of homework though (or maybe its just because i took the PAL program lol)

Took 102 over winter and everything went smoothly. He cares about the subject, makes you think improve your writing. Class goes by fast. Hilarious and presents good outside information. As long as you complete everything assigned and give it a shot you will get a passing grade

Ron is the man. His choices of literature for analyzing were great. His lectures are really funny. Like I mean I was crying sometimes it was so funny. That being said he takes his class very serious. If you want an 'easy teacher', this is probably not your guy. If you want to learn a ton and have a good time doing so take Ron.

If you are looking for an easy way out, stop here. Professor Dreiling is very reasonable, funny, and will work with you, but he won't give you an easy A (or any easy grade for that matter!). He is understanding, but you need to work hard! There are a couple essays that are most of your grade, but every point counts in this class. Try to be on time!

His class is definitely not easy and if you are not comfortable with writing proficiently then i would not recommend. However if you are then you will really enjoy the class as he always tries to make it interesting and really teaches you about the material. You can tell he cares about his students and the material. I loved the class.

Dreiling is a great teacher and I feel like I learned a lot from him, wish I couldve taken him again but he wasn't teaching 102 when I took it. That being said his class isnt an easy A especially if you arent that great of a writer. He always gave me great feedback to improve and hes hilarious, would definitely recommend if youre looking to learn!

Dreiling was an awesome professor. The class is not necessarily an easy one. However, it is not an extremely difficult one either. If you come to learn /improve your writing skills and become better in general Dreiling is your guy. If you want little work and effort and an easy pass, look elsewhere my friend. Highly recommend. Honestly one of the best professors at COC! You will learn so much and definitely develop your writing skills. He has a great sense of humor which always lightens up his lectures. He cares about his students and is more than happy to help you succeed. If you're a student struggling with writing take this class but make sure you're ready to work!

Took Prof. Dreiling's Eng101 class online. Wasn't too hard, just 2 DBs a week and a journal here or there and a couple of essays. He gives great feedback on your essay and you can tell he really cares about his students. Would for sure take another class with him.

Pretty easy course, show up to class for small points (busy work), main essays are what really count. I passed with a C and really never did the homework so an A wouldn't be difficult.

He is a pretty solid teacher. My only complaint is there is too much useless lecture during class time. He is a fair grader and will help you structure your work.

Prof Dreiling was great. I took ENGL103 as a hybrid class, meaning we met once a week in person, and the rest was online. As long as you stay on top of discussion posts and show up to class to take quizzes you will be fine. The 3 essays assigned in this class are also interesting topics, and will help boost your grade if you do well.

English was never my strong suit in HS but I really liked this class- I learned a lot esp since he takes his time on feedback. We used a small book throughout the course but it had helpful tips and articles that are actually relevant. He's very nice + understanding but obvi expects you to work. 3 major papers, small assignments for hw, easy final.

Great Guy, super funny I don't think iv ever seen this man without a smile. Super respectful of his students and really understanding when it comes to class work, I have taken him 2x now and he's probably the best English instructor on campus, if you open up, he'll teach you how to read and write better and teach you things applicable beyond class.

I took him for the English 103 hybrate class and he was a really good professor! Don´t expect to pass the class if you´re not willing to put the work in! He is very fair and caring, if you show that you care! Take him if you´re willing to work for your grade! Overall really good professor!

Im really bad at English but still managed to pass his class with an A he gives a lot of opportunity for extra credit. We have hw every week and its a lot but very easy just read the assignments. Make sure to reach out to him for advise on your thesis and he is more than happy to help. Take him for English 103 you will not regret it

This class is a 4 credit class so it is a little more work than a regular 3 credit class. However I was easily able to get an A by doing all my assignment and focusing on my essays which are 200-250 points each (3 essays). He is also very easy to reach and will take the time to help you if you ask. I highly recommend taking this professor

Fair grading (based heavily on 3 essays), available to help outside of class, provides extra credit opportunities. He tries to give students all the tools necessary to succeed. If you put in the effort, you should get a good grade--but effort is necessary.

Pretty easy class as long as you follow directions and write good. Ostensibly, if you write lazily or don't put effort, you won't do well. Be ready for LOTS of discussions and readings. As for essays, as long as you include all requirements, practice good writing principles, and pick very specific topics, you'll do fine. There's also extra credit.

He has heavy instructions. Very specific. His grading is very very picky. He knows exactly what he wants and if you do not deliver he will make sure you know. He is passive-aggressive and to be honest, gets offended quite easily if you do not understand his instructions. He is not a horrible professor but he is a tough and picky one.

Mr. Dreiling was a GREAT teacher. He was given short notice for the spring 2023 in person class but in my opinion made it work perfectly. His canvas age was great, gave some extra credit options and loves to talk to the students about everything. Sometimes he talked about stuff off topic but over all he was great. 10/10 fun class with little stress
