Nice guy, but not the best of teacher's. You basically teach the course to yourself. The grade is based on tests only! Wants students to take Latin Dance Class, which sucked

entire grade based on 2 tests and a paper, kind of tough.
This man is a ****. His method of grading as way off. He gives really hard tests and just claims that his old students were so much smarter, eventually curving them. His old students claim they did worse. He does know how to teach or grade.
He is terrible. Very hard tests on stuff he didn't teach you. Is all about latin dance.
Evans sucks! I hated his tests, didn't learn anything in class, had to learn everything on my own by reading the textbook. He favors girls over guys in the class he will curve their grades while screwing the guys over. DO NOT TAKE!

His lectures and stories are pretty interesting. His exams will be a breeze if you read the material.

VERY HARD! Even if you read all the book you will still do poorly on the tests. The test questions are on irrelivent details of the reading. He never talks about the material in class and he will never say an answer is wrong in class making it harder.
Loved his class. Had to write few papers and the final paper was tough, but did well. Suprisingly no tests at all. The grade was based on mostly how much you talk in the class and how well you write. If you are good at both take Abnormal pschology.

Can do Latin Dance for extra credit. Doesnt teach material thats on tests, must read chapters to do well on tests. They're applied definitions. No papers or homework. Classes arent bad to sit thorugh though.

Nice guy but very difficult to learn. I learned much more in my high school class and still didn't do well in his class. wouldn't recommend him.
The worst professor i have had here at bentley. his tests are nearly impossible. the tests are m/c and are from the most irrelevant stuff in the chapters.
Classes are fun and interesting. You will begin to hate the class once you take his tests. They are impossible. Fun teacher, worsts tests. Will bring down your GPA.
nice guy but very stubborn and should expand teaching techniques...the reason were at bentley is because we dont want the 300 people per room at a lecture feeling...group projects, quizzes, interactions would be helpful, not just lectures and tests..
He's a good teacher, a great guy, makes class fun. The whole class you just spend talking. You write a couple papers, and there aren't any tests. Talk a lot in class and you'll get an A. He's awesome.
class is SOOO FUN but... I studied 5 hours before every exam n I got either C or B- when I'm lucky. My friend failed a couple of times when he didn't study. Maybe u can try study for 8 hours n get an A
Honestly a nice guy and means well, but awful class. Talks about nothing relevant during class and exams are impossible, even if you do all the reading. Thought psych would be interesting, ended up being just a huge stress.
Funny guy, but not a good class. Lets you take Latin dancing for extra credit. Talks about nothing relevant during class and exams are very hard.. but if you close-read the entire chapter(s), you'll be fine.
the guy is the coolest guy ever. He recently changed his style. It isn't so hard. No more killer tests, just a few team papers. He's a pretty easy grader too. I don't know if he'll keep it that way though.
Nice guy, class graded primarily on participation. Only assignments were group papers with presentations. Be open with your opinions and build a good relationship with him and you'll get a lot out of the lectures.
easiest grade ever. do group projects and that's your grade. you dont learn anything but if you want an easy grade, take evans. extra credit if you join latin dance club

Dr salsa is the man....no tests....3 or 4 group papers...laid back..lets you out early...good guy..must take

The guy really does mean well, but the group papers are graded so unfairly!!!! If one person doesn't do the work, your grade will suffer substantially. Other than that, a really laid back class.
No homework, no tests. Just three group papers all sememster. This class is an easy grade. Just go to class and sit there.
As much as people like to **** about Dr. Evans and his "unfair grading" If you did well enough in the class discussions, and proved yourself there, then he gives you higher grades than your group. Also, if you had a problem with your grade, he was more than willing to talk about it, and raise it.
Does not teach you anything! He told our class that next semmester he was going to design the class so that you had to take the extra credit latin dance in order to pass the class. He DOES grade unfairly and what he teaches to us in class is almost always irrelevant to the text. Don't take him!!!!
unfair grader, i stayed out of president's list because of the grade he gave me. I consider myserlf a hard worker, and people who didn't do anything, but talked to him after class got better grades. UNFAIR
even going to this class does not make your money worth it! we talked about the most random things, and i figured philosophy would be much more interesting...he's also a tough grader. he expects a lot when he doesnt teach us what we need to know

Worst teacher I've ever had. How he got a degree in the field is beyond me. No structure to the course, he wings it with the material, doesn't even know what he's talking about. Avoid taking at all costs.
This class is ggreat. I have learned a lot about me and the people around me. It's a must. The professor is very helpful and always willing to explain more in detail. Great...........

Lot of people say he was hard, but hey, I got a B+ in the class, and I didn't need to break my back for it. A lot of stuff on tests is only covered in the text, so if you want to do good, you have to read, and read carefully.
Very Boring Class. Terrible Teacher. This Professor does not teach anything. Class time is one great huge discussion. Readings and Papers due were on issues unrelated to class discussions. Grading Very Unclear. Psychology is one of my favorite subjucts but this class was very disapointing.
This guy is fine once you figure out what he wants. True, he isn't the most organized person, but anyone who shows up and reads the material will get a good grade. He only gives tests if people in the class don't read the assignments.
Taking his 8:30 will put you to sleep! Shows a lot of boring movies, drops a test if you take latin dance, so if you like to dance he'll love you!

Very interesting class. A lot of discussion. Only four tests, need to read chapters assigned. Overall a really nice guy, just need to know what he's looking for. He picks favorites, so just talk to him. What is gone over in class usually means nothing when it comes to the tests. Drops a test grade for salsa dancing class.
Great class. Prof. Evans makes this class very interesting and active. You have to study and read the book. Every class there is something new, video, cases, discussions.
Professor Evans is challenging but if you keep up the course becomes easy. He is one of the best in the department

It is clear that professor Evans is a very committed teacher. He is clear and helpful in assignments and his lectures have opened up areas that I have not really thought much of until his class. He opened up our eyes. Don't miss out on this great professor.
Learned so much in so little time. We talked about so many issues and applied them to real life situations. Prof. Evans is great, made a difference in my way of looking at things. :)

He is the worst... You might as well stay home and read the book, you'd probably learn more, Tests are impossible, even though you can use your notes. You might manage a 3.0... Good luck if you get stick with him!

Hated his class. He talked about his patients all the time (which is cool and interesting) but tested us on the book and the most MINUTE little details. Nice enough guy but would never take again. The thing is that he's wicked different in all his classes with grading. some are essays other classes are M/C. Take at own risk
he is a great teacher, and one of the only classes i actually look forward to. class is just discussions and talking about life basically, while the test is based on the text book. so make sure you read the chapter, understand it and then you'll do fine on the exams. i will deff take another course with him!

Wicked awesome guy. You get to do a salsa class and he drops a test. Make sure you do the salsa starting at the beginning or else you get behind. Tests are kind of hard but not too bad as long as you study.

Class is really laid back. Uses personal experiences to help teach the material. Tests are kind of hard, but if you read the chapter and study you should do fine.

The best professor i have had so far, definitly take this guy, classes are easy, you just talk, there are only 4 tests which you are graded on but he drops ur lowest if u take salsa dance and he will drop the lowest if you do good on 3, TAKE THIS GUY
He is a nice guy. I loved learning from him. Teaches in an upbeat attitude, which is great. 4 tests, each one worth 25% of grade, drops lowest if you take salsa. Tests are really hard though. They are multiple choice, and some questions he ask are somewhat hidden in the textbook. Must study really hard in the book to get an A
I was very interested in this topic but I learned absolutely nothing from this man. We never had a test and our entire grade was based on papers that we wrote, which are long and graded very subjectively (ie, if you likes you, you'll get a 3.3+). Don't take him if you want to learn something. Also never responds to e-mails, which is annoying.
Dr. Evans is a very nice guy and does a great job keeping the class interesting. The tests can be a little tricky, but it's very easy to do well as long as you do your reading. Fun class, fun teacher.
He is an awesome teacher. The class can be very hard as he doesn't go into depth about the tests but every class is fun and interesting and he loves talking to the class about travel (which I thought was awesome). I recommend him even if you get a bad grade because he is very fun.
His tests can be pretty hard and I feel like we never actually had any structured lessons in class. He asked us our opinions a lot, and for our own personal experiences, which is nice, but it rarely helped us on the test. I was one of the only people in the class who voluntarily participated and i was not happy with my grade.
worst teacher ever!!! not a single class in which we learned anything. substituted our tests for papers bc he couldnt be bothered to make them up or grade them. He took almost until the next semester to post final grades. Did not respond to a single email from a single student in my class. Doesnt give instructions for papers at all.
half the class failed the final assignment bc he didnt care to give us instructions for it but obviously expected us to know what he wanted us to do. i went to every single class, every time it was his bs theories about multiculturalism which in his eyes apparently only applies to black culture in the US... thinks he is the man tho.. really annoyin
Didn't learn a single thing the whole semester. We had to read the entire book in one month and write 28 pages on it. Class is 100% participation. He can appear easy and friendly on the outside, but he's a bit of a stuck up psychologist who won't change his views on anything. Better take with a professor that will make you learn...avoid if possible
Class is very laid back and mainly discussion based. As long as you partcipate you will get a good grade. Three papers (28,10,4) all about yourself. Hard not to do well in this class. Professor is entertaining and funny.
Didn't learn too much about psych, but you do learn a lot about yourself. It is more or less a self-help class that's run by group discussions. If you put some thought into the papers/use examples from the text you should do fine. Also want to make sure to participate in the group discussions.

Very unclear on what he wants on your papers but expects you to know what he wants anyways. Doesn't respond to any emails. Classes are all class participation. Plays favorites. Seems nice on the outside but really doesn't care if you have a problem with anything about his class and isn't understanding. Stuck up on his views. Didn't learn anything.
Ronald Evans is a one of a kind teacher. I personally would recommend Mr. Evans to anyone taking any psychology courses at Bentley. The amount of knowledge that you obtain throughout your semester is exponential in comparison to any other class. This is a self learning course, while also learning about other people's thoughts, feelings, & emotions.
25% of the class is participation, that is very easy to do. 25% of the class is quizzes. Quiz average is maybe an 85. 25% of the class is having to go to salsa dancing classes once a week all semester, this is very annoying. 25% of the class is a 10 page paper.
One of the most energetic and fun teachers I have ever had the pleasuring of meeting. He does all he can to help you get a good grade. All he asks is that you share your opinion about once a class and he'll love you. Great guy, fun class, good way to get an "A"
Really funny guy who loves to teach. He goal is to help you get a good grade while allowing you to talk and learn in class. That's it. Show up and talk and you can walk your way to a good grade.
Happy go lucky guy who loves psychology and teaching kids about their culture. No final, just has you write a paper that he grades nicely, good class.
Really good teacher, who seemed to really enjoy teaching. Loves talks about other races in his Multicultural Psychology class, and makes sure kids dont get uncomfortable.
Hilarious guy who really cares about his subject. As long as you aren't afraid to talk you'll get a 3.7-4.0. Respects people who will share their opinion.
Worst professor I've ever had. Usually don't rate professor, but felt the need to share my experience with people potentially signing up for his class. Just be warned that he's very one sided and teaches you absolutely nothing. Very disappointed in the class.
Loved Professor Evans, talked to him after class a few times, extremely insightful. Make sure you do the reading and do well on the essays. 2 major essays both 10 pages, pretty easy cause you're writing about yourself. Very discussion based and make sure you participate. He likes playing devil's advocate so beware.
Ron was the TA for this class, I had a lot of problems connecting with him at the end of the semester, just before the final. He would take forever to respond to emails and be vague about when he would be in his office; there were times when I thought he was supposed to be there and I would show up and he was not there, poor communication.
Class is all participation. 2 ten page papers and 2-3 quizzes that come directly from the book. Quizzes are pretty easy and as long as you follow directions with paper you will get a 3.7-4.0. Out of 150 kids he said he gave out 7 4.0's for the Spring 2014 semester and about 35 3.7's. I got a 3.7 so I cant really complain.
All participation. Easiest class ever. Enjoyed going to class everyday. 4 short quizzes. One group presentation about culture that took five minutes to prepare. No essays- he got a rid of it for our year. Definitely take this class cause its an easy 3.7-4.0. Study bold and colored text for tests.

Ron Evans is the bees knees. This is a very unique class, and one unlike any other course you'd take at Bentley. To say the least, it's unconventional. It's all about talking and participating and getting into deep and personal discussions with your classmates. That's basically it. The best part about it is that you actually learn so much.
Honestly, this man made me a little uncomfortable but it is a very easy class where you sit and talk the whole time. It is a nice break from all the hard classes you are taking and I really recommend it to freshman who are struggling with GB's and just want something easy. 3.3's and 3.7's all around for doing very little, he's just annoying.
If you can get over his "its my way or the highway" mindset on opinionated subjects you'll prob love him. Class is seriously all participation and quizzes, which you need to study for because they're directly from the book. Don't expect an easy grade if you don't study or if you don't have the same opinion bc he will call you out. He's very rude

I participated every class and thought I had a good relationship with the guy. 4.0 on his 2 tests 3.7 on midterm paper 4.0 on the final. Got a 3.3, emailed him asking if we could talk about my grade and he never got back. Grade not based on performance
He's definitely a nice guy, just have to get on his good side. Class is an easy 4.0 if you participate and do well on the quizzes which are multiple choice straight from the book. You have the opportunity to talk about your own life experience. Must take if you like to talk a lot.

Avoid class. Makes you believe you are doing great but gives you a not-so-decent grade. He makes you pity him when he talks about SETs so that students can give him good ratings, but do not believe it. He should not be at an institution like Bentley.
