Very nice and helpful! I highly recommend him for anyone. He also teaches Shakespeare and Creative Writing. Sweet gentle heart too.
Real nice guy, very informative.... its english so of course theres essays to write... but if you try a little. you'll get a good grade.. just get someone to proof read yo ****z! **** i'm out
Lectures are very interesting & fun. You leave the class with the ability to write a good paper, if enough effort is put in.
Nice guy. Teaches you english grammer and writing. Not boring, don't have to go to class for 3 weeks while writing research paper.
Ron Israel is one of the most dedicated professors in the department. His selected subject matter is timely as well as easily accessible, and his teaching style really reaches the students.
He's fair but rigorous. You get out it what you put into it.
Spends way too much time talking about his wife and kid, and not enough on course material.
he's a cool teacher, we discussed a lot of cool things in class...he grades essay very carefully, not that easy to get an A, but he will give you lil extra time if you want to let the bridging lab check your essay. very different format of research paper.
The best teacher ever. There are a few essays to write but at least the class is interesting. A little effort needs to be put into the class but it is still worth taking.
Great teacher, 5 essays, 1 Research paper, no quizzes or tests
A great teacher who explains everything to you. Doesn't grade too hard on your essays, just make sure the grammar is perfect. Always in a good mood.
he's great! there are no quizzes or tests.. and a lot of what we learned was based on pop culture. it's interesting. he's hip. haha.
One of Mesa's best. One of the best no matter the school. Take him if you can. He's always there for you, and he makes you want to do well. Ron Israel happens to be one of those magical teachers that you run into once in a lifetime if your lucky.
He is a very objective grader and encourages students to do well. Take this class!
He is a great teacher. I hope that I will be able to take another english class from him in the future.
He is a really NICE guy, loves what he does and will do everything to make you succeed. This class is fun and easy. you write 5 small (500 words) critiques and have 3 exams. Highly advise u to take him!!!
I know for sure that he is an awesome teacher. He's passionate about his work. He does what it takes to help you succeed. His stories about his family are good cause it gives us a chance to get closer to him. The material is easy if you try.
ONE OF MESA'S BEST! LECTURES ARE NEVER BORING.
Prof. Israel is the most AMAZING English Teach I've ever had!...I've learned to love writing, and about the process! He is as fun as he is a great sensei!!! I've taken so much from this class/great discussions! VOTE RON ISRAEL BEST TEACHER @ MESA 2004!!
1 research paper, 3 out of calss essays, quizzes sometimes, 4 in class writngs, all of which were graded. I'm such a slow writer, so in class writngs were so stressful to me!! If English is your 1st language, you'll enjoy his class though.
BEST TEACHER IN MESA! always willing to help, very clear on assignments and just overall great person. i am an average english student but in his class i have an A! great teacher, very caring, supporting and encouraging. take him
class was a cake walk. Tests easy if you remember who wrote what. Take this class. Get the 5 short essays in on time and you'll get a good grade.
3 in class essays, 1 research papers and Final is in class essay. He's funny and really nice. I wasn't comfortable writing essays in class cuz i'm such a slow writer. if English is your 1st language then you might like his class.
good guy that's genuinely nice. that chi stuff works for him and gives him a smile all the time. thanks mr. israel for a good semester.
Easiest A I've ever had and this was for an honors course. A stickler for grammatical structure but otherwise could care less what you turn in. Likes to go off subject quite a bit and makes for an interesting class.
ONE OF MESA'S BEST. YOU NOT ONLY DISCUSS THE SUBJECT, BUT YOU GET TO DISCUSS EVERYDAY SITUATIONS & LESSONS YOU CAN LEARN FROM IT. HE'LL ALSO MAKE YOU APPRECIATE WHAT WE HAVE & TO NOT TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED. I LOVED HIS CLASS.
This class was outstanding! One of the very best Professor's at Mesa. You can learn a lot from him about literature.
He tangents off the subject more than he teaches. This class is not as much about English as it is anything that he decided to talk about that day. If your an english major you will be disappointed because you wont actually LEARN anything about english.
I have to agree with the last guy, he tangents a bunch, and you really don’t learn a lot about English. He tries to be hip, offering sub-dude stuff, but the reality is it was like my advanced placement high school class without as good a teacher.
Agree with previous ratings. This guy tangents off task throughout class period. Once you get the routine of listening to his beliefs the class is easy. Do not take this class if you are interested in writing or English.
Best teacher that I have ever had. Even when i was sick I would come for his class and leave. I would always recommend him. He allows you to be crative, but he is a stickler for grammer lol. But he is the BEST
WOW, what an awesome teacher. He lets you express your mind, and is really interested in what you think. TAKE THIS CLASS, it would be a mistake not to.He gets students to think, and it really helps. I was very interested, and enjoyed the class very much. I recommend it to everyone!
I really like him as english teacher 101, very good, all the things that was said about him on this comment they are true and do not listen to the other people who has negative views on them, because maybe because they did not do anything in class and maybe because they expect that he would be like a english high school teacher. strict on grammar.
I highly recommend taking his class. Syllabus that clearly outlines everything. Get books early, start reading first assigned. Syllabus tells you when you should be done & move on to the next. Clear outlines for essays on each book. Great in class discussions. If you don't learn anything, then you weren't paying attention.
Take this teacher. The best at Mesa. Wonderful. Professor Israel is an awesome teacher. You will really enjoy the lectures, and the stories he selects. Not difficult in his assignments, and allows tons of room to make-up missed assignments. Take him, you won't regret it.
Had this teacher for creative writing(249). Awesome teacher, and I became a better writer out of it.
Very easy teacher. Likes to talk about his daughter sometimes but he's really friendly. Best English teacher by far!

Wonderful personality, excellent teaching style, awesome sense of humor, and hilarious lectures! Wish he was teaching Eng205. Fairly easy A if you put forth some effort. This was the only class I enjoyed this semester, and I was never disappointed. If you don't take him, you are definetely missing out! Give this man a raise, he's great! Grade: A
Awsome teacher there is kind of a lot of work to do in his class but he is really helpful, really nice, and the material he using is interesting.
A truly wonderful teacher. Very helpful and understanding. He's relaxed and makes it so that students can enjoy the subject. I highly recommend.
DOWN TO EARTH GUY AND VERY OPEN MINDED. HIS LECTURES WERE CLEVER AND FUNNY. WORK WAS FAIRLY EASY. ABOUT 5 QUIZZES, 3 PAPERS, 1 RESEARCH PAPER AND FINAL. NOT A HARD AT ALL. ENJOYED HIS CLASS.
3 in-class essays: 500-750 words, 3 take-home essays: 750-1000 words, 1 research project: 2000 words, and 1 final in-class essay: 500-750 words. Very nice teacher. Not biased at all. Best english teacher. Very helpful. Very fair.
The best teacher! Very very nice, helpful & his classes are a lot of fun!!!
Ron is a great teacher, he has alot of interesting ideas and concepts to teach. I leanrt alot from him and you will too if you are in here shopping for a class - I absolutely recommend him. Very smart and fun as well.
Very nice man. Very helpful. Makes class interesting.
Prof Israel is very down to earth. You'll completely enjoy the novels you have to read in class. He's ALWAYS smiling & very talkative (you'll have plenty class discussions about random topics, but they can be stimulating at times). Take his honors course if you can.
The best teacher I've had at mesa.
Professor Israel is a down to earth teacher and you will notice that he always has a smile on his face. He can be hard in the beginning but as time goes by you will adapt to his teaching methods and the assignments. You must be active in terms of attending class and taking advantage of his office hours. I took his honors class and received an A-.
If God was embodied in a teacher it would be Ron Israel.
This guy should be forced to come back from his sabbatical and teach again. One the BEST profs at Mesa PERIOD!!! 3 papers, one in-class final,a a group project. Couple of interesting novels he had us read, 3-4 in all.
hes the best teacher ive ever had!!!!! very understanding and commited to his job. Absolutely love him. take this class!
Mr. I is a great teacher. He really cares about all of his students. I had issues with my daughter and had to miss a lot of class time, but he helped me out SO much, because I was showing an interest in the class, but he would probably do that for anyone, interested or not.
There's no hmwk other than readings although none of us did. Took forever to give back grades (like months!) If you're looking for a class that you can sit in the back and focus on 'other' hmwk then this is the class for you. Otherwise you'll be sitting for 4 mths while he goes on tangents about tribes and bugs bunny..really!
Everyone comes across a great teacher whom they will never forget. Ron Israel is one of them. He made every class topic and lecture engaging and thought provoking. He always encouraged us to push our own boundries and deffinitions of normalcy. I would highly reccomend him to any student.
He makes class lectures feel like a good conversation with friends. I enjoyed his class.
Fun class, but nothing special. I thought we would learn more writing techniques, but did a lot more free writing instead. Very nice guy and interesting conversations. Easy A.
Awesome teacher! had him for two semesters now and he's always been very helpful and fun. No regrets in taking his class!
just a good guy
Taking Honors English with Prof. Israel. Love the class and love the depth he gets into. He would be more than happy to have a one-on-one conversation, if you need help. I wish he would teach ENGL 205 next semester.
Prof Israel is a nice guy overall, and his class is pretty interesting. I liked his course, although I did feel like he sometimes went on some strange tangents on his class lectures. Overall pretty easy because there is absolutely no busy work
Israel is a fantastic prof. I learned the basics to writing and citing papers which I found helpful and appropriate for english 101. You have a midterm, final, and 5 essays but its all do-able and there is not a lot of homework. His lectures are interesting although not really relative to writing. I am looking forward to having him again as a prof.
Israel is great! The classes are generally interesting (he goes off on weird but entertaining stories) You learn a lot and actually have fun; he's really helpful and the material is though provoking. Definitely take his Honors 101 class!
The easiest teacher ever. I showed up maybe less than half of the time and still aced the class. If you want to learn grammar or english though, take someone else. He just seems to like to vent to the class about unrelated topics. He's a great guy, easy grader, and best of all, you don't have to show up to get an A!
I love Israel, I'd take him every semester if I could. It's a pleasure to be in his class, and he is always interesting to listen to. The tests required a lot of studying, I outlined each chapter thoroughly and spent a lot of time memorizing the info, but got an A in his class. If you want an A, spend the time studying for tests, and you'll do fine
He is such a nice teacher. The tests can be somewhat challenging but its your part to study for them.Show up to class, read your textbook and you should be able to get an A. Planning on taking him for English in the Fall.
He is the best teacher I've ever taken at Mesa. He's very kind and cares about his students. He does tell random stories but he's always smiling. Used the book often and our research paper was so easy, almost a joke. I wish all my teacher were like him. If they were I'd love going to school! I reccomend him 100%
Really good prof. Always willing to help esp at office hrs. nice, interesting ... Id reccomend him :)
Great prof I highly reccomend
Really cool teacher. All his lectures are on power point. I would definitely recommend buying both text books since he allows one of the 4 tests to be open book. If you attend class and pay attention this class is fairly easy.
enjoy the class very much. Tests are not too hard if you read the chapters and follow the study guides. Lectures are helpful. He tells what will be on the exam. Also, he gives out the questions for the writing portion. 60 multiple choices.
He is a GREAT Professor, I was NOT looking forward to taking Humanities but he made this class very interesting and kept my attention the entire class. If you are going to take Humanities 101 I highly recommend Professor Israel!!
Great class. Even better Teacher. highly recommend.
Easy class and very interesting. Recommend that you print out his slideshows and bring them to class to take notes on.
awesome professor! go to class every day and listen to his lectures. quizes are easy and tests are based on quizes. NO papers to write which is wonderful. He was funny and very easy to listen to.
Ron genuinely cares about his work, and it reflects in his lectures. He keeps you interested with funny stories and details to help you remember things for the tests. He also gives out study guides, and basically tells you exactly what you need to study for the test.
I took professor Israel's Humanities 100 class, and loved it. I have never had a professor that actually made me want to come to class every time, until him. He was very helpful and understanding. I would definitely recommend taking his class.
Great professor; one of the few who takes the time to learn your names. passionate about his subject; takes things exactly from the book so not a difficult class; very personable and smiles a lot.
Prof. Israel is an excellent professor. I've had him for humanities and creative writing and have thoroughly enjoyed his classes. He's a great speaker, always captivating and his lectures are very relevant. I recommend him highly. You do have to do work in his classes, but you will be grateful for the takeaway and what you gain from the experience.
The best professor in the english department at mesa! My writing improved a lot after having taken his class. I took this class as honors and it was pretty chill. Passed with an A:)
Israel is probably the best lecture based teacher I've ever had the pleasure of taking. He lectures with visual slides and his rhetoric is phenomenal. I'm not much for history but when a great storyteller like Israel is speaking, he makes the class more interesting to listen to. He is a master at his craft. He also smiles when he speaks.
Professor Israel is a really cool teacher. He always has a smile on his face which is rare to see on college professors. This is an easy class if you study. I feel bad because I should of put more time and effort :[ A class like this should be a priority since the professor is very intelligent and is good at teaching.
Israel is a really cool Professor, but the course was extremely boring, be warned! Just make sure you keep up with the reading.
He has a passion for the subject and it shows when he lectures. The material isn't exactly the most fascinating unless you are into history, but he elevates the material. The class isn't easy, but put in the work and you'll get the A
Great teacher!! He assigns interesting books which make it easier to write essays about them and is willing to let you rewrite a paper for a better grade. Even though its honors its a fairly easy class. for any class take Ron Israel!!
Great Prof. if you read the book and PPT slides you will do well in the class. Not an easy class i struggled with writing the essay portion of the exams but if your a good writer your Good I passed with an B
He is very straight forward. The quiz questions come straight from the PowerPoint slide and textbook. The exams are from the quizzes with some new ones thrown in. Exams are multiple choice with two written questions (paragraph and an essay). I got B's and C's on the exams and mostly A's on the quizzes.
Feel like this honors course is easier then the regular one. He is a wonderful professor. I'm never bored of his lectures. Very nice, funny, and kind. I'm not an English speaker but passed the class with an A. An A is not hard to get if you study hard and follow his instruction. Might take him again if he teaches another Huma course.
Professor Israel is a really great teacher. He's helpful and passionate about the subjects he teaches, and grades fairly. He tells funny, interesting stories and is very personable and easy to talk to. Made me very interested in the humanities. I've taken two classes with him and hopefully will again! I recommend him for English as well.
No homework and no essays for this class. Read the chapters; quizzes every week. Powerpoint lectures on Blackboard. The only thing I didn't like was the quiz questions; they're subjective and more than one answer may apply.
A few online assignments but it's pass/no pass, 3 main tests and the final which is a compilation of quizzes. There is a quiz for every chapter, but he drops them. For honors, you have to write a research paper. Israel is really nice, helpful, and has a genuine interest in the subject.
Professor Israel is an awesome instructor. He makes lectures as interesting and funny as possible. Easy class if you study for exams and stay ahead of things. 3 exams. Unannounced quiz every week. Final is cumulative of all prior quizzes. If taking humanities take it with professor Israel, I really enjoyed his class and learned a lot!
Mr. Israel is an absolutely wonderful teacher. He's funny, knowledgeable, and encouraging. His comments and criticisms were constructive and useful. I wish he was teaching more creative writing classes this semester. I would sign up for all of them.
He is a nice guy, talks the whole 3 hours with power point. He has humor but the class is long. Too many test, I clicked #7 wrong. He falls behind in almost every chapter so his exams do not match his lesson plan, nor does his syllabus match up. there is no extra credit. It is an interesting class but there, I might look elsewhere.
Currently taking this course. I really enjoy it. Mr. Israel is engaging during his lectures. He's really funny and makes really good points. Someone said that he smiles when he talks and it's true! I think he's a real gem and I'm very glad I picked his class. You do have to write a lot but he gives you a lot of room to write about what you like.
Best english teacher I've ever had by far. So supportive and understanding, he is also great at giving you feedback on your writing. Mr. Israel is also hilarious! I would recommend taking him 100%. Show up to class, participate, do the work and you'll be fine. We had to write several essays throughout the semester but nothing crazy.
He is an amazing professor. You must read for his class. Ask questions and he wll answer. The only real homework is to read and myarts lab, if you do that you will pass with an A. personally, i didnt really read but i was playing catchup at the end. I ended up with a B. Great guy, really funny!
I loved having Mr. Israel as a teacher! He's literally the best english teacher I've ever had! He's very nice and understanding and gives good feedback! I wish he taught English 205, I would definitely be taking his class right now. Also, He's very charming.
Absolutely loved this professor ! Makes the lecture so interesting. I took his 3.5 hr class but still looked forward to going each time. He gave a total of 4 exams and assigned my arts lab homework due every Friday, in class quiz everyday. You must read book. If you do what you have to do you'll do great.
He is a good teacher with some fun lectures. He is a tough grader as far as papers go. Very few received A's in his class. He gives good feedback on the papers, however. Although he is not very privy to the different styles some students might possess.
Professor Isreal is hilarious and gives the most fun lectures. i was always excited to come to lecture because it was always funny and interesting lecture. he tells it like it is in his lectures about many different culture. you have to read for the exams . i would his class again if i could
Easy class. He will repeat the info that you need to know for tests many times, so if you pay attention in class and turn in all assignments you'll do well. However, wants answers and papers said/ written with his exact words. Boring lectures.
GREAT teacher! By far one of the best teachers I have had. He is very easy going and makes you want to come to class. Not hard to get an A as long as you turn in your work. Would take again, for sure.
Funny guy. Go over the chapter before you come to class. 3-4 writing assignments. 13 chapters, 13 quizzes. He smiles and makes silly remarks during lectures. It's not an easy A if you don't show up or read the book. Very helpful and caring. He also teaches English.
very specific with the grading criteria. lectures are interesting and funny. 13 quizzes, 4 tests and finals.
He's very nice. 4 short writing assignments (about 1-2 pages), 4 in-class exam, and final exam (from 13 quizzes). I like his class, definitely recommend him.
Hes one of those professors who really knows what hes doing and what works. Your reading and writing will improve without a doubt. His teachings provide meaning and thought to things you may not have considered. I consider myself a grounded person when it comes to humanity and our connectedness as beings, yet I found more grounding after his clas
He is not clear with planning quizzes as we ran into "pop" quizzes on non-sched days due to his tangents and PERSONAL opinions on the world today. We would be off topic as he talks about the presidential debate, his kids, his wife. I would recommend to take another professor. I usually get A's & B's and I had to withdraw from this class. HORRIBLE.
Great and chill guy, but man those reading assignments are killers.
He is a great teacher. Gives out 13 quizzes throughout the semester, drops the lowest 3. Tests are tough if you don't read. Study the powerpoints, follow the study guide, and review the quizzes and you should get an A. Lectures are long, but he is a fun teacher.
If you like a challenge and have a professor that is enthusiastic, then take Ron. He makes you work hard for an A or B grade, and its worth it. The lectures he gives are fun and entertaining. Be prepared to read before class because he gives pop quizzes at the end of each chapter. By the way, there's no extra credit and just be aware!
Really nice and easygoing. You only get to read 2 books in the entire semester, but make sure to read them though. If possible, take his honors class, it is quite easy. His lecture are kind of long and boring, but overall he is great professor.
Ron Israel is hilarious. He is a very interesting character and really knows what he is talking about. As long as you READ, you will do great in his class. There is about 6 quizzes, and three tests. (Keep your quizzes)
Although Humanities is an interesting course this class requires a lot of studying for a 101. If this course does not apply to your major and you are just taking it for transfer credits, take an easier class. Tests are very detailed and you need to study hard to get an A/B. This class prevented me from getting straight A's this semester.
Honestly one of the nicest professors I've had. It's very easy to get an A in his class as long as you put in effort in your papers. His lectures tend to go off topic but he always comes to class with a smile and gives clear direction.
The short stories he picked out were good reads. The schedule of what we read and when was laid out in the syllabus so, missing a day of class doesn't mean you get left behind. Likes to get the class involved in class discussion.
He was good and knew his material, the class was tough though and you have to study really hard to pass, i would take someone else if there is better.
i took this class in hope of it being at least informative and interactive, and boy was i wrong. he drills the class on powerpoints the ENTIRE lecture and tells you to read the textbook. the only time you get to apply the material is during the quizzes and exams, which there are a lot of. not a fan of his teaching method, material doesn't stick.
Israel is a nice guy, but if for a 3 unit class it requires a lot of reading. Good news is his quizzes are mainly take-home, bad news most people get a C or lower on his tests. Want to get an A? Read each chapter at least 2 times and memorize the pictures
The dude is great. I had opportunities to make up homework and even a test because I couldn't make it to class more than once. He actually tries to make lecture enjoyable and succeeds in doing so. Super friendly guy from day 1, would totally take him again.
While I find Humanities super boring, I can say I enjoyed his lectures and found it less boring than usual. The class isn't really mandatory because he rarely drops people but its important to go if you want to do well on the test.
Professor Israel is easily one of my favorite teachers I have ever had. He makes the lectures intriguing & he is very funny. As long as you show up to class & go over the slides you should be able to get a good grade & pass the tests and quizzes I got the book but rarely used it bc he goes over everything you need to know in class and on the slides
Pay attention and study and you will definitely pass
nice man, always in good mood, very pleasant atmosphere in class. however, he's only a decent lecturer. In order to do well on tests you NEED to read every chapter. One test I just read off powerpoints to study, only got an 82 (luckily i did xtra credit). you definitely don't need to worry about the final because it contains questions from quizzes.
Ron is a great guy and has energy but for a 3 unit class you have to read the an absurd amount of the textbook and remember every thing, his exams are multiple choice but all the answers are so similar its hard to get a good grade he does offer optional assignment to boost your grade which is nice but his lectures almost mean nothing for his class
Professor Israel is a good professor. There is 4 tests plus a cumulative final. You will do good as long as you show up to class and read the book. But his time management is very poor, we only had 2 tests all the way until the last 4 weeks of the class but in the last 4 weeks we had 3 tests and the lecture were super heavy on the last few weeks.
nice guy, but he went too slow in the beginning of the semester so we had to do 3 tests out of 5 in the last 4 weeks of school. he did realize it and bent the rules to let us use a flashcard. I don't blame him for my poor grades because it's still very doable, considering ALL 13 quizzes are take home, and the final is all quiz questions
This class is easy if you know how to study for it. He puts all lecture slides on blackboard. Buy the book, read his lecture slides along with the book. Highlight anything on the lecture slides on the book so things pop out more. Know all the pictures on the study guide. Not just the names but the facts behind them! Study the quizzes for exams.
Ron Israel is a great professor. Pay attention to his lectures and read the textbook and you will be set. 13 online quizzes, 4 exams (study for them) and one final.
one of the best professors ive had at mesa! i hate learning about religion and was worried i wouldnt do well but he made it so fun. his lectures are really interesting bc hes funny and includes personal stories. tests are VERY straightforward so as long as you do the online quizzes and sutdy youll do great. be ready to write essays on the test!
Lovely professor and lovely class. He's very straightforward and organized. He gives short multiple choice questions that come straight from the reading and are very easy points. The final is a cumulative multiple choice of all the quiz questions and answers. Do the reading and you should pass no problem. Plus, the reading is super interesting!
Amazing professor! He makes learning fun. All of his quizzes and tests were super easy if you did the reading and/or attended the lectures.
This class is extremely textbook-heavy. You must read it thoroughly. If you don't you WILL fail. You absolutely must take extensive notes and pay attention to the textbook, powerpoints and lectures to do well on the quizzes and tests. This is not a "fake it til you make it" class. There's extra credit but it's not a lot of points. Awesome lectures.
This class comes with a lot of reading, but it's expected when learning about humanities. It's clear he is very passionate about the subject which makes lectures more interesting! Quiz and discussion every week about each chapter, a few exams, all multiple choice. Do the reading, pay attention, and you will be fine!!
Very easy humanities teacher, I took him fully online and its a 10 questions quiz and a discussion question every week. Exams are easy too, I forgot to take one and he reopened it for me and didn't take away any points. Only thing is the work opens on Wednesdays so you cant get it out of the way early. Def recommend. Get the online textbook.
Amazing!! He is hilarious , loved taking this class. I have learned so much. I love how open he is with his lectures. He responds almost immediately. You can tell he is deeply passionate about this course. I would take another class with him.
Asynch. class so everything was posted online & done at ur pace. Easy class all the answers are on quizlet. Says u need the book but you dont need it. Exams are easy, answers on quizlets, includes some questions from book but just need a little digging online. Prof. was m.i.a. the whole sem. grades discussion questions every 8 weeks. Easy A.
Discussion questions and quizzes every week, 10 questions. Fully online, total of 5 exams. Really easy class if you're looking to fulfill your GE. Easily find the answers to the quizzes and exams online. Includes questions of images at the end of the exams, use google to search the image up. Don't buy the textbook, not necessary.
Professor Israel is extremely funny and is able to make lectures fun. There is very little outside work that needs to be done besides quizzes and readings. He is also great at connecting lecture material to our everyday lives which helps makes class more engaging.
Incredible teacher, online and simple exams. Lectures with slides and explains the content of the textbook. Weekly discussions and weekly quizzes.Highly recommended
Professor Israel is one of the best professors you will have. His lectures are very fascinating & worth paying attention to. Tests & quizzes are more from the lectures. The textbook doesn't help much. He is very kind & relatable. Always love hearing his lectures since he tries to connect lectures to real world things like politics. Great Professor!
Take this class. He is very nice and tries to make the lectures intresting. Attendance kinda matters but hes not super strict on it and doesnt care if your late. 1 short quiz and discussion a week and 4 tests plus the final. All the ansers are on quizlet. the tests are online not in person. Trust me take this class its great.
Ugh! Sucks that he is retiring. Loved his class. Very funny. Would go off topic (?) at times, but would immediately tie it into whatever he was teaching on. Every quiz and exam was online. Great prof.
Professor Israel's HUM101 class is a must-take. His lectures are engaging and he makes the material fascinating. While the textbook is required, it's not entirely necessary - the real learning happens in class. For study prep, unstuck study and discussion groups were super helpful.
Took the class online, and overall it was very manageable, as he recognizes most students are taking this class for the humanities gen credit. It was a bit annoying how the window for the online assignments was so small, I much prefer online classes where the entire course is opened at once, so that I can go at my own pace.
