Lajoy has a PH.D, and I do believe it's in marijuana smoke. He is all over the place in lecture, and gets easily sidetracked. The good side of things is he is super nice, and doesn't give any homework, only 4 tests. Half the class dropped it.

Tests virtually solely on lecture, take good notes you will get an A. Helpful; tries to answer all students questions but easily distracted – digresses. Illistrates his point of view often, Voices principles/beliefs on issues. Low maintenance class.

Returning to college at the age of 41, Mr. Lajoy was my first instructor and I am so glad he was. He was patient, intuitive, helpful, very smart and never disrespects students. He has a great sense of humor too. I wished he taught more - I'd take another class from him in a heartbeat! I got a B+ which I attribute to his informal teaching style.

A nice, decent, friendly person who seems a little too laid back as an instructor. Lectures were a bit of an agony- no pacing and no sense that he was really guiding the discussion in a way that was helpful. He might spend 45 minutes on trivial things then give 15 minutes to relaying good information. Grades leniently.

Dr. Lajoy is a very interesting and sweet man who is willing to answer any question you might have. Grades are based on three exams, which are pretty difficult. If you come to classes and take good notes, (he lectures the whole time) you should get a good grade. He does get sidetracked easily, but that makes the class all the more amusing.Great guy

When the instructor walks into the classroom on the first day and announces that he hasn't read the newly-published new-to-the-campus book that we all just paid $100+ for, you know it's going to be One Of Those Classes. Very bad teacher! The textbook is required but I never used it. All his tests are based only on his lectures. His lectures are long and half of the time he goes completely off topic. He tells really long stories about things that do not even matter and will never be on a test. He also cusses a lot during his lectures.

So. Great guy! Easiest A ever probably. Unfortunately.... He has no powerpoints or any canvas help with his lectures. It's literally you, pen, paper and him. Take notes as he talks. He provides study guides that are basically the test. If you're good at notetaking, DO IT! He's a super easy grader too. No hw. No textbook, don't buy it. Good class!

Lots of notes. 3 tests (easy) and 3 quizzes or 2 quizzes (super easy 12 questions) 1 paper 1 page double spaced. I'm telling you if you can listen to him talk and follow the study guide you will get an A. It was mind-numbingly easy and he makes it that way on purpose. Don't waste money on the text book! He tells you everything you need.

Lajoy has a lot of expertise in his field, but his lectures are long and dull. A lot of personal information(heavily opinionated) that was unnecessary, confusing lectures, and very little wiggle room. In order to pass the class the extra credit lectures are mandatory in case of a low grade on a test. Take notes and read the textbook for support.

I think Professor Lajoy is one of my favorite professors that I've taken so far here at Clark. His classes consist of long lectures, however Professor Lajoy often includes personal stories or analogies that make the often complicated topic more understandable. There are 3 exams, 2 quizzes, and 1 written assignment. Would highly recommend!

Although the class did not consist of a lot of work (three exams, two quizzes and one paper), the class was entirely lecture based. Lajoy does not use PowerPoints; however, he does include a lot of personal examples and experiences. The most difficult part of the class was listening and taking adequate notes.

Ron is a nice old man, but hard lectures to sit through. Spends most of class rambling on about stuff that won't be on the test. There is no power points, he doesn't use canvas, so it's just you and your pencil. If you can take great notes and follow him during the lectures than you should do well. 3 test, 2 quizzes and he has 2 extra credit days.

He does tell a lot of stories and examples but after the term I remember the info well and have a good understanding of the concepts taught. I appreciate his emphasis on the scientific method and expirements

I really liked his old-fashioned style (no tech), he is easily accessible by phone for any Q's. Good grader, hilarious, and super kind. I would take him again.

Well, let's see... He should've retired 10 or 15 years ago. He doesn't believe in power-point presentations, which is fine. He will sit and talk, and talk, and talk, and talk for over an hour and a half without classroom participation. That may not sound awful, but it is. It's very difficult to sit and listen to one person for that long.
