i agree that he does have an accent, but he is a very good professor and is always willing to clarify if you ask questions...he has supplementary notes on webct vista for you to study over for the test...highly recommended!

I took Dr. Lazer in Fall 2004. Although it was his first time teaching at UH, he did a rather okay job. Yes, he does tend to bore you, but he is very passionate about what he does. He always encouraged questions and eager to give help whenever you need it. I recommed Lazer; he's not the best teacher, but always wants student to strive high.

I dont know what everyone else is talking about because if you put about an hr a week and about 8 the week of a test you'll make an A. He has the best powerpoints out of all the other teachers and he will put in the most effort to help you in any way that he can. Gives excelling examples and hint towards the test often. Test Departamental so...

Wow, that's all i have to say. I knew accounting would be a difficult course, and i put in the most time of studying than any other class in here, but no matter how passionate Prof. Lazer is, this class is ROUGH! He even said it himself, this is the hardest accounting class because this is where you're learning a new language. Beware...No SLACKERS!

if your a slacker then you wont like it..you cant expect to just go to class and thats it ...if you keep up with it then you'll be fine ...he has the bbest notes ...he is always trying to help..he gives reviews for the test at 7 but ppl dont go bc of the time ....but he is the best bc he gives you what you need for the test !!!!!!

I think Lazer is great! He always encourages you to answer in class--very, very helpful! The tests can be tricky, but I think he does a really good job on preparing you for it. He has an accent, but if you don't understand him--he always encourages you to speak up.

Great teacher. Very helpful and explains the material pretty clearly. Tests are a little confusing sometimes, but it's not too bad. Projects are easy A's.

humm well this class is a tough course ... but very doable... he is the best one to take ...those who complained were slackers ...and if they had seen the teaching of the other profs they would see he was the best...he has the most helpful notes out there... good reviews ... love his cute accent!!! not bad to look at ....

Great teacher! Although accounting isn't really my thing and I didn't quite fly through the class, I know I would have had a much more difficult time with a teacher who took had less thorough notes and less passion for the subject.

He is the best! If you GO to class, study, work the problems outside the classroom & take ALL of his quizzes you will do great. He is very passionate about this material, genuinely wants students to succeed & will help you in any way he can. YOU have to do the work though! His quizzes are hard but very helpful. I wish he taught ACCT2332!

easy A if you pay attention in class. He is the best acct 1 teacher there is. The way he teaches compare to the other professors will help you more on the exam, he always has a higher passing rate than the other professors.

Not much of an accounting fan. neither have i took other accounting 1 teachers.. but heard he's the best one yet. he tries to help as much as possible.. u just gotta be puttin in some effort too. not an easy A.. not for me at least.. but not like it's not possible.

He is a good teacher as long as you attend class and dont leave early. He gives quiz's almost once a week. 2 midterms, 2 projects and a final. Gives great review before each midterm and the final grade will replace a midterm grade if its higher also including the average for the quiz's. Easy to make an A as long as you do the work.

He is a great guy, and mostly all the girls think he is hot, so if you are a girl I recommend you taking him!

Great teacher. He has an accent but you will get used to it. His teaching tecniques are great. I love his notes. If you do what he wants you to do you will get an easy A! His class score averages was always higher than other professor's classes that proves his success! Highly recommended!

Great professor- accouting itself is hard but study before your quizzes, and if you understand the material on the quizzes, you will most likely understand the tests. Highly recommended.

Very good teacher, my favorite actually. I never even bought the book, and I got a 100 in the class. He goes over each quiz beforehand, exactly what problems it will be over, and is an overall great and friendly guy. Take him for sure for Financial.

Professor Lazer was the best! I wish he taught Managerial Accounting. His teaching style is great; he goes through things step by step. Not only that, but he also drills the stuff in your head through examples in class and weekly quizzes. Best accounting teacher ever. Seriously. He really cares.

Accounting itself is just a hard course. You have to study alot, but Dr. Lazer is pretty cool. He has an accent, and it difficult to understand him at times, but he is good at teaching, and he tries to make it as easy as possible.

I wasnt able to attend class almost the whole semester, but i've received decent grades (excluding class quizes). However, If you are there for the quizes, do your online work (easy)& the ratio project(easier), you'll get a good grade. Study for the tests though! Midterm curve will help. Side Note: his accent is cute and he is nice to look at.

DO THE WORK! When he says practice, he means it. His lectures aren't the most invigorating things, but they could be a lot worse. Read the notes before class, do the examples, and you'll do well. Definitely recommended.

Prof Lazer is the best accounting teacher. His classes are doing better than other classes. He knows what he's talking about. You must do the work. Follow his instructions and you'll get an easy A.

Prof Lazer is awesome. He really knows his stuff and is eager to help. Make sure you get the notes on the slides some way or another. One thing about this class is that Lazer focuses a lot on numbers rather than concepts, however, if you understand how to calculate the numbers, then obviously you will understand the concepts. Departmental Test!

I took the Honors section of ACCT 2331 in Fall 05 with him as my prof. His passion and expertise in accounting is what made me want to major in accounting. If you show up to class PREPARED and ask questions, no doubt you'll get an A. It was my easiest accounting course by far but also the best! TAKE LAZER!!!

Lazer is very passionate about what he's teaching. He'll help you outside of class. He takes random attendance some days awarded with bonus pts for a test. Quizzes are hard only given little time, make sure youve studied material. Tests are easy.

dont bs him bc i tried and he got really mad...i didnt take notes or anything...just crammed before the tests and it wasnt that smart bc i got a c plus for the course...and dont take his late classes cuz he'll keep u til the end

Lazer is one of my favorite professors yet. This man is great at what he does, and it's like second natural to him. I did not know anything about accounting until I took his class. Read the chapters before the lectures, Practice the problems over the study plan, and earn a "A"- it's as simple as that

I took his Honors section so maybe that influenced what I thought of him. You CANNOT slack off in front of this guy. Attendance is mandatory and tests are not giveaways. However, he is EXTREMELY helpful and an AMAZING teacher. He really cares that his students know their material. It's a really fair class. I recommend him to everyone!!

Textbook is only needed to do homework on C/C and that crap costs a lot! 2 exams, one final, all exams are usually hard, just study. He gives A LOT of extra credit. He is a funny professor and very 'chilled' when it comes to ACCT. He is very helpful and understanding, he just gets us. Don't be stupid, take Lazer. Period.

THE BEST! You must go to class, you must do exactly what he says, you must read the notes, and do the homework. Sit on the front row it REALLY helps! I slacked off on the HW & just read his notes a million times before the test and got a B but could have easily got an A if I did what he said. Ask questions it will help you more ways than you think

Honors Section. Quizzes in class prepared us for the exams. Covered all of the material we needed to know and some. Cared about whether his students really understood the material. Made non-accounting majors interested! Wonderful accent!

I really enjoyed this class, i used the book very little and the Study plan online made it easy to practice.

If you want to not only do well, but also learn the material for 2331, take Lazer. It's as simple as that.

Dr. Lazer is an awesome teacher, but this class is really hard. There isn't anything surprising about it being hard though because he tells you to drop if you aren't ready to work. It isn't a JOKE! You are going to do lots of studying, but you will really know what is going on in the tests. He is very understanding to any problems too. Take him!

Dr Lazar is a very good teacher with a fun and interactive way. He gets his students involved in the class, and make the subject more interesting. This is a hard class and you will need to attend every class. There are 8 quizzes best of 5 homework is a must. 3 tests that are hard but easy if you know the material. Overall I would recommend Dr Lazar

Prof. Lazer is awesome. As long as you keep up with the chapters in the textbook and put in an effort to learn the material he lectures, then you will do really well. The first test was not hard. Second test was a bit harder. Final is not entirely cumulative, it is mostly the material covered at the end of the semester.

If you want a blow off class, Dr. Lazer is not your guy, but if you want a good professor to take accounting he is the best. He teaches by examples in class and always helps to make the concepts clear if you don't understand. Smart guy and great professor!

This is the best teacher. He is easy to understand and have a very humorous since of humor and hates when people walk out of his class. He has quizzes that are fairly easy if you study. You must practice in order to understand lectures and pass exams which are departmental. Overall i would recommend him and wish he taught all sections of accounting

One of the best professors on campus. I took Acct 2331 with another professor last semester, and had to drop out because I didn't understand a thing. Took it again with Lazer, and got an A+! Incredibly nice, reviews everything in class. Its a tough subject to learn (not a blowoff class), but if anyone can teach you it, its Professor Lazer.

Best teacher in the freakin world. No joke! The subject matter itself is hard, plain and simple. I am telling you, do not take ANY OTHER professor for this subject...he is the best around. Funny, serious about the topic and really wants you to understand, he is extremely helpful and doesnt make you feel stupid for not understanding

Take him! He is one of the best professors you will take during your undergraduate career. You would be doing yourself a great disservice by registering for any other professor. He has an extremely engaging teaching and is genuinely interested in seeing each of his students succeed!

Lazer is THE perfect professor! He makes ACCT interesting, and has a great sense of humor. Very cool, laid back guy, but serious about teaching, so don't leave class early or slack off. This class is a lot of work, but the only one I look forward to. He truly cares and will make time for you if your schedules conflict. UH is so lucky to have hiim!!

he is the best at accounting! I took him freshman year and his notes still help me get through upper level accounting classes. He is one awesome professor so really try to get to know him outside of class because he will help you if you need him in the future! He knows what he is talking about and made me love accounting. I took Dr. Lazer, and he is absolutely amazing! I love the way he teaches it makes you stay motivated and keeps you really interested in the topics that are covered. I definitely recommend taking him as he is the BEST. To address the comment below, I have the biggest teacher crush on him too ;)

Ron Lazer is an AWESOME teacher. He teaches accounting to an interesting way & understanding. He helps you in his reviews and in class. He gives extra credit. His test are a little difficult but attend class, do hw, and youll get an A. PRactice is KEY lol

He is a ver nice professor...teaches and pushes every student to understand the material...he does rush a bit through notes at times but over all if you attend class, do the work, practice, ask questions you are set to do well in his class...its not an easy class...lots of work in order to do well...def not a blow off class. Not a blow off class and you have to spend at least 3 hours a week studying. HW are easy if you cheat on them, and quizzes are hard. Print out his exam reviews and study them. Also he curves big time or else 99 percent of the class fails the exams.

LOVE this teacher, didn't realize it until after the class was over but he really does make you do in-class work which helps SO much on tests. Acct is never easy but this teacher makes it understandable, make sure to keep up with online hw, pay attention in class and you will do fine. Totally recommend this prof!!

never opened my book & ended up with a B! lots of extra credit and huge curves on tests. material is hard but it is manageable. you only have to do 8 outta the 11 hws to get full credit. clickers are for extra credit as well. final can replace quizaverage as well as one test. didn't like lazer too much though, but hes prob the best outta the others

THIS CLASS IS TOUGH. pay attention and stay on top of the notes and exercises. these departmental tests are KILLER. study, study, study. everyone loves him, eh...i thought he was okay. cute, though. and he wants to help you out. get on his good side, sit in the front, and pay attention.

Lazer is extremely helpful, he cares a lot about his students. Sit in the front, get to know him. STUDY. i studied A LOT, i came to his office hour for help, i got an A. not an easy A, but if i did it then you should =]

He is WONDERFUL. The most helpful teacher i have ever had. But you actually have to go to him for help and let him know that your struggling, and by that i mean take the time to go to his office hours. If he knows you're really trying and that you care, he will care about you. awesome man!

Accounting is by NO means an EASY class! I recommend taking only 12 hours if youre taking accounting for the first time, lots and lots of hard work!. 7 out of 11 hw assignments that take at least an hour and a half, two tests and a comprehensive final, best four out of six quizzes. Really good teacher for this class. Accept no substitutions!!

Accounting is a very challenging class, but he is a very nice and helpful guy. Want his students to get good grades so give reading quizzes to drop a quiz. Tests are Super hard to me. Quizzes are somewhat expectable. But he is now going back to his country, Israel. Hard to see him again. SHould take him!!!!!!!!!

Best prof I've ever had. Breaks down a difficult subject into workable pieces, explains well, highly available to students for help, does his best to prepare and motivate his class. Amazing how he keeps handles a class of 250! Makes it clear and obvious what is needed to succeed (practice!) Very sorry to see him go; on to bigger things for him tho.

Best prof I have had at UH and I'm a jr. He always checks to see if anyone has questions b4 going on to new material. He tries to make the class funny, but he does expect ppl to respect him and the class. No texting in class or leaving right after a quiz. He's esp good if you are clueless about accting.

Dr. Lazed was the best teacher ever he was always there to offer assistance to his students more professors should be like him students would have a better chance of graduating. Accounting is hard and sucked but he made it enjoyable.

UH lost an amazing professor when he decided to leave. One of the best professors I've come across in my UH lifetime.

I loved his class. Took him back in 2010. Great Prof and actually cares about his students. No longer at UH. I decided to be an accounting major after taking his class. Wish he would be back at Bauer.
