WOW!! is this guy ever boring. It is impossible to stay an entire lecture no joke. His midterm exam wasnt bad. He talks way too much in class.
The class was interesting, I enjoyed it, boring at times but overall good, professor was a knowedgeable guy.

He is fine, he explains everything, but he repeats himself too much (probably to fill up the lecture time).
Very knowledgable and works hard to explain difficult concepts. He is very committed to helping his students.
Boring Class, he say's the same things over and over again in class, and then when you write whatever he says in the exam, he gives you a bad mark! It is very difficult to know the expectations of this prof when you write your exams...he is jut hard, boring, teacher that expects too much.
He stutters, is boring, i would not reccomend this professor AT ALL! you never know what to expect
I had this prof and i must say that i have never seen any other prof who is so boring in his class..his mid-term and his final term exams are both very difficult...not only that, they way he marks the paper is very tough as well...so you'll always end up with a B or a C+...to get a B+ ar an A would be virtually impossible...His class average is C+.
This guy is great. I didn't find him boring. He is also very helpful and knows his stuff.
He seems nervous, so far the midterm wasnt that bad.
His lectures were extremely boring and long! Spends too much time explaining one concept and likes to play short games to demonstrate some concepts. Exams weren't so hard, marks fair, but really boring!
goes out of his way to present the concepts. not boring, it's ADMS hello. much better than somebody who would just lecture from power points. actually tries to make students think about theory which is why most rate him as boring. ****, he's a great professor.
Learn how to teach!
Midterm results were late and now finals are late too. He needs to learn to teach and some time management skills too.
Knows his material well and tries to make class interesting. Has high expectations for students but nothing unreasonable. Good Prof
kinda boring for me because he does a lot of redundant things. I think he's trying a little too hard to make it interesting and thus vears away from core concepts. doesnt know a thing, keeps on talking about everything but the stuff that really matters. i failed the course and when i took it with Laura 2nd time, i got an A....anyone but him.

i think he explains well in class, but he is an EXTREMELY TOUGH MARKER!! i thought i would be getting at least a B+ on midterm, but then i was only getting a C+! he picks on very small stuff when he was marking the paper, and the final exam was HARD! be careful!
The way he flaunted his gayness really bothered me.
He keeps pushing his pro homosexual agenda. Not appropriate for a business class. He is unsure of his own knowledge and can easily be stumped. Not a good prof.
He is tough, and boring. He doesn't really teach anything, only presentations by students. Unless you want to study it all by yourself or get a poor grade, don't take his class.

Wants all of the course material spit back at him. exams are simple memorization (mid-term) and simple application (final). I disagree with all the group work cause you can get screwed. Pretty boring class. usually helpful/responsive
enjoyed the class; presentations seemed a bit useless in the beginning however turned out to be a different way of learning the material and i did not mind them; exams were fair
He is a good teacher,but he just repeats the slides but in class he adds his own thoughts. Group work isnt such a good idea, people usually don't show up. Fair marker - most of the material is common sense though.
Has double standards when it comes to treatment, which is ironic because he teaches a course about inclusivity in the workforce. He's an average professor and it shows in his etiquette. He gives little to no feedback and i've seen him outright ignore student's e-mails when they asked him legitimate questions. He isn't as "tolerant" as he seems
I agree with the statements below. He's a nice guy but the structure of his course is all over the place. He also isn't that great of an instructor. He isn't clear with what he wants and he's near impossible to get a hold of until the very last minute
Waste of time elective. He ignores some people in class discussions, 80% of the material is on LGBT issues and even then he doesn't bring any thoughtful topics of discussion to the table. His quizzes are easy if you're good at regurgitating his subpar txtbook.Attendance is a must or he drops your grade and it's true that he doesn't reply to e-mails

He is a kind professor who seems very interested in what he is teaching. This guy knows his stuff. He's a fair marker, and I found there to be absolutely NO surprises in the midterm/final exam. It's important to attend every lecture since there are participation marks for group work and the case presentations are essentially what is on the exam.
Hes very funny and very easy to approach. He engages the class often in small group activities. He is a great prof and not a difficult prof at all.
ADMS 3450 - He overanalyses almost everything. I bought a textbook for over $100 and he wasn't even sure they would use it again. He taught it for the first time but I had him before(his teaching style is similar). HARD marker must meet his expectations for answers. Group activities to check participation. Avoid taking course with him.
I dont understand why people are complaining. He was an amazing professor. His deep analysis was extremly helpful id say. He was great!

Midterm marks not given back on time before drop deadline. Other than midterm, no other marks returned prior to final exam. No final exam review. Very vague when answering questions about group project. Would not recommend his class.
Not my favourite professor, but also not my least favourite. He reminds me of an elementary school teacher with his approch to teaching, which is not necessarily a bad thing, just a big time waster much of the time. Although, lecture material does appear on the tests so I would suggest that it is worth it to go to class.

His teach style is unique; study the textbook, participate, and attend lectures to do well. He is very helpful, you just have to make the first move. Midterm- lecture content...Final - all textbook application (cumulative)

Didn't like the prof -teaches like grade school, treats students like children. Class is SO long and boring- repeats material too much, way too much repeated class discussions. Couldn't wait to finish his class. Class website is SO confusing because way too much info on it. Main textbook used a lot, second textbook repeats info from main textbook.
Terrible professor. Stay away at all cost. Rambles on general discussions, often not related to the course. On the test asks material that was not even mentioned in the class. Doesn't teach anything specific that he puts on exam, you must read the text book on your own to prepare. Asks difficult and tricky questions on the exam.

Nice enough guy, but returned our midterms a month after they were completed, and a bout a week after the final date to drop the course without penalty. He offered to "assist us" with dropping the grade through petitioning if necessary. Extremely unprofessional. We still havent received our final grades 2 days before the next semester.
Do ALL the assigned readings because his slides are very brief so the concepts you will be tested on could be anything. Attendance is mandatory because it is a huge part of the grade breakdown (do not just show up in body, you have to actually participate). You need to be descriptive and use key terms in your exam answers to get full marks.
Received midterm marks back 2 weeks after the drop deadline. Midterm marks received were an "average" as paper was not fully graded. Changed group project topic 1 week before due date for paper and presentation after giving the go ahead. Terrible feedback, terrible professor, terrible lectures, midterm and final material not explained,uses umuh.

He's a nice guy but he ridiculously takes forever to give your grades back. He sometimes gives vague answers when you ask him a question, he nitpicks at small irrelevant things on exams, and he really is a hard marker. If you want the grade you deserve or think you deserve stay away from his class. I do not recommend this professor.
Great prof! I don't know what's with all the hatred in the reviews. Ron is very knowledgeable in HR field and is an amazing teacher. He makes sure the students understand all the concepts before moving on. Spends time in class answering questions and also asking questions to encourage participation. He's probably the best prof to take OB with.
I'm still recovering from his class. He is disorganized and it affects his students. Last semester he only gave one part of the midterm grades back and gave part 2 after the drop date. That's foul. Loads of ppl ended up failing cuz they did horrible on the second part but they disn't know prior. Just stay away.
never take his course, the hardest exams compared to other professors with 60MC + 9 short questions in 2 hours!
A lot of people don't like him but I thought he was great. As long as you come to class and participate its an easy A. His exams are a bit difficult but if you know your material there is no reason you shouldn't do well. Be sure to read the textbook because his lectures are very broad and don't go into great detail about things in the textbook.
Unfortunately he is only the professors I know that teaches HRM 3450, there is no way around him. I took 2400 with him also and I can say by far he is the worst professor I've ever had. His slides are vague and his feedback is horrible. Hopefully York employs other professor to teach those courses so students can get a satisfactory grade.
not the best prof, treats you like a kid, not allowed to eat in his class, or even touch your phone, i dont recommend taking his class if you love eating and going on your phone
Ron maybe a good guy but his course is poorly structured and he doesn't give good feedback. Lack of clarity in terms of what his expectations are and his inability to give proper feedback made this course a disaster for many. Unfortunately, it seems he is the only Professor teaching the course at York, yikes! :/
The heaviest course i have taken. Weekly quizzes, weekly 500 words blogs, 2 midterms, final blog, group project (video, report, presentation, and personal reflection) you will have to submit 4 papers in one day at the last day of class. Most boring lectures, and he uses the whole 3 hours for nonsense. Avoid it if you can.
you are not allowed to be on your phone or eat or else he will call you out. lurks around during videos (you talk about the videos after) and watches for people on phones. switch profs ASAP
I believe that Ron is a great professor. Yes it is true that his slides are vague but if you do your reading you will do great in your exams. He is VERY detailed on what he wants you to do on your papers which helps your get a good grade. He is very considerable and very understanding. I took 2 courses with him and this year im taking my 3rd one!
Professor Ophir spends a lot of time on one topic. Mid-term is based on 6-7 chapters but he only makes the effort to go through 3 of them. His moodle is also very confusing. Treats you like a child, very tough marker as well. Professor also teaches ADMS 3450 and is the only one that teaches it, so be prepared for the worst.
Probably one of the worst profs at YorkU, he wants you to know the material inside out on the exam if you dont get everything correct he doesnt even given partial marks just marks it also 0. Throughout my 3 years at york university i have never gotten a mark so slow besides in his class, TRY TO AVOID HIM HE WILL FAIL YOU
A shockingly subpar teacher who conflates busywork with learning. He will bombard with you with weekly quizzes, blog posts, group projects and 4 papers being due on the last day of class, all while failing to facilitate meaningful discussions of any topic outside his poorly written, contrived textbook. Save your time and money - avoid this course.
Ron is a really nice professor who is always ready to help when needed. His lectures can be lengthy and boring but if you do your readings and show up to class as there are participation marks( he gives a bonus too btw for participation) then you will do good in the exams and the group project is not bad as well.

No support when it comes to taking an online course, partly because he might not know how to uses technology. (Powerpoint slides were upsidedown, even after it took him weeks to post them)
THE TESTS ARE BRUTAL WITH SHORT/LONG ANSWER QUESTIONS. IF YOU'RE NOT GOOD AT MEMORIZING DON'T TAKE THIS COURSE! IF YOU TAKE IT ONLINE DON'T EXPECT ANY ONLINE CONTENT! HE EXPECTS YOU TO STTUDY OFF OF THE DENSE TEXT BOOK ALONE. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
Beware of this prof. I emailed him after the mid-term to complain about the # of questions and lack of time and when i got my results back he gave me a C. I know for a fact that i did not deserve a C, i studied hard and i know i answered everything correctly except 1 question that i didn't have enough time for. He probably had a vendetta.

Honestly, Dr. Ron is a good professor. Ignore the bad comments about him and take his course. DO your readings and understand the terminology and content and how to apply it. The only downfall is that marks take a while to be posted. REALLY GOOD PROF THO, lectures are interesting
He is the worst prof Ive ever taken class with. Doesnt have a rubric for how he grades, not enough time for exams and super lazy. Waited for the whole semester to end then he upload midterm grade. Choose other professor for this class. Avoid him like a plague!!!
Easy Class but the Prof does not reply timely to emails. Also forget about getting feedback for your assignments and participation postings. He handed the midterm back just before the final exam. Incredibly lazy when it comes to marking!!!
Ignore the negative reviews, Ron is hands down the best prof I have ever had. He genuinely cares for his students both academically and personally and is very easy to get along with. I wish I could've taken more courses with him because he's an absolute gem.
Professor Ophir is Amazing. I dont usually write reviews but he definitely deserves one. Idk about some of the negative reviews out here but dont let that lead you to a bad prof. I was enrolled in another section with another prof that made me miserable. Therefore, I switched section and that was the best thing Ive done. Professor Ophir is great
He seems nice but does not reply to emails. I took the class a while ago and he didn't upload any lectures or slides on Moodle even though it was an online class so we had to depend 100% on the textbook. I strongly recommend avoiding classes taught by him.
The course content is great; he is a hard grader.
He's really easy going and nice. Just read the textbooks, make notes and do the weekly OA's and you'll do great.
4481 is heavy on presenting but Ron is extremely understanding if you struggle with it. He remembers details about each student and checks in on your progress and gives feedback on what's good/what to improve on so you can get the best grade possible. The midterm was extremely easy. I'd 100% take another class of his if the opportunity arises.
If we could reduce the amount of "ah um" this guys says in his lectures, I promise the lectures would be 30 mins shorter. The semester completed mid Decemeber, it is January 7 heading towards the new semester and we still haven't gotten our final grnotades posted. What kind of prof is this? He preaches equity/diversity but actions speak louder.
Very boring and long lectures. Lots of Ums and Ahs in his lectures. Hard to sit through. Some days his voice makes me want to throw my phone at the wall. Lots of small quizzes that are due in bulk on some days too. Midterm was okay but I learned way more from the PowerPoints than attending the actual lectures-which are required for participation.
the course is not difficult and if you read the text book it has everything you need, although it has been 7 weeks since the midterm and no students in our section have received a grade, other sections have.
One of my favourite professors! He makes the classes both fun and informative! Definitely made me a better communicator and more confident presenting in front of peers.
Honestly my favourite professor at York! Every class felt like a mix of learning and entertainment. It made a huge difference in how I engaged with the content, and I always looked forward to his lectures!
Ron is a good person and overall not a bad prof. however he is very slow at grading. we have not recieved a single grade even though the semester has literally ended. the material is not too boring, but the group components of this are so horrible. he added a presentation worth 15% of the course by the end.
