What can I say, you gotta love Schuelke. He's definitely eccentric and likes to yell, but he's a great teacher, extremely helpful, funny, and just a nice guy. You can tell he really cares about how his students do in the class. You HAVE to read the book and attend regularly to pass, but if you do, you'll be fine. Difficult but very interesting

I owe much of my career and my further academic achievement to Ron ripping me a new orifice when I confronted him on a grade I received on his exam. I learned more in Ron's course than in any one of my previous classes, and the rigor and attention to detail served me well in future work toward my MBA. Ron is a great guy, and a spectacular teacher.

I literally hate this class. i hate going period. He calls on people randomly and asks the hardest questions that make you feel stupid. He gives no homework, just lecture all class, and talks about himself. No study guides. Do not take this class, I'm serious.

Final grade based on a midterm, final and five "Global Econ Game" assignments, total 300 pts. Awesome grading scale! 50-64, C; 65-84, B; 85-100, A! Fall '12, only 7 (of 61) received an A. Do not neglect textbook! Strategy: get all 100 points from the games, and score min 25(!) on each test for at least a C grade. Schuelke is def entertaining!

I came into this class after not finishing the previous semester with a different teacher due to health reasons. When I would question the differences between his teaching and what I had learned from my other (far superior) teacher, he would blow them off. Later, I would research the question on my own and find that he was dead wrong. Bad teacher.

Easy class to pass with a C, so if that's what you want, by all means take this class. If you have an interested in learning from a professor in a structured setting, I advise you to look elsewhere. You will have to teach yourself from the book ad study your butt off for an A, since his lectures are generally irrelevant.

If you want to teach yourself then take this class. Going to his lectures are pointless, all he does is ramble and embarrass anyone who he doesn't agree with. He will call on people randomly, and his test are nearly impossible. He does grade on a large curve so it's easy to get a C, but if you want to major in anything Econ related don't take him.

Passed my semester courses except this one. It brought my SemesterGPA down to under a 2.0, because of this my Spring2015 transfer admission has been revoked. It's a hard class; there are 5 small assignments (small points), then there's 1 midterm, 1 final, which have a significant impact on your grade. Ron's a good guy, but his pedagogy isn't superb

Not fun. Once I figured out how much reading the textbook required for an A or B, I accepted my fate of a C and it was chill from there. He kind of yells when he lectures which is jarring. Also don't speak out or disrespect him. If you have not read the chts (I never did), you WILL be called on, don't bs, just smile and say you don't know.

Test require you to know the vocab from the book. Read, study, and you'll do fine on the first midterm. Final was crazy. Lectures are interesting and relevant. Notes he puts on the board are worked out quickly - difficult to follow. Be prepared to be called on regarding the reading. Wide berth for As and Bs, but you must study.

Pros: If you study and pay attention to the lectures, the class is medium difficulty If you like his humor, he can be fairly funny Cons: His jokes are definitely not for everyone Lectures can easily turn into rants rather easily The game he assigns for homework is both difficult and pointless, but is unfortunately necessary for passing

When it comes down to it, there are two things that matter most. Showing up to class and reading what he assigns. It is a pretty big chunk of reading but you have half a semester to study for each test. I can't stress this enough though. SHOW UP/TAKE NOTES AND READ THE BOOK/MEMORIZE TERMS. Not all of the material is covered in lecture.

Hardest class I've ever taken but learned so much. His lectures seem pointless but if you keep up in reading it will all make sense and you'll see when he rambles there's actually value in it. You're only graded on 2 tests and 5 hw assignments. Don't count on extra credit or attendance points to help you out lol

He doesn't teach to the test at all except for graphs, lectures are long and confusing, test and homework questions are extremely confusing, TONS OF READING- basically if you don't read and memorize the chapters you won't pass. He gets sidetracked easily and yells a lot. Would not recommend to anyone.

I don't know where these good reviews are coming from. Everyone I've talked to agrees that this is an absolutely horrible professor. He forces everyone to buy a stupid game from him for $20. He goes on rants about climate change being a hoax and thinks that college should be expensive so students will be motivated. He is a vile human being.

This is a teach yourself class. He's a funny guy but basically grades you on how well you read the textbook. He does consider 85-100 an A, and 70-84 a B though. So you get a little wiggle room. Grade is based on 2 tests and 5 game lessons. Attendance isn't necessary, just make sure you read and take good notes.

Shuelke's lectures have a tendency to degenerate into ideological rants with some yelling interspersed. When he manages to avoid this, he basically follows the book, so read the relevant chapters before class so that you can decide which notes are worth taking. I did well in this class because I'm a self-learner; if you aren't, you probably won't.

I get why students complain, but young students just won't get it. I couldn't understand why this professor was saying the things he was saying, believing him wrong and to an extent a crackpot. He was 100% correct in everything he taught. You won't understand until you enter the real world what he is talking about, but he is 100% on point.
