Ron is an awesome teacher. He is very helpfull and if you do what is asked you get an A. The work isn't hard, but it must be done for the good grade. Plus, he's hott!

This class is most interesting, even if you hate debate. The most difficult part was keeping up on the briefs. Our topic of HESC for the debate created a moral and ethic challenge but it helped with my research techniques. Ask him about the colors grey & black and about his 30minutes of fame!! LOL Would take another of his classes.

He is awesome. The class is great, but you must do the work in order to pass. My topic was Embryonic Stem Cell Research, and it really made me think about this issue. Great guy and he is HOT(but married, dang)LOL!

I was really interested in the subject matter of this class and I already knew a great deal, but Ron still presented information I was unfamilar with. I liked that I learned things from him. He is very easy going and understanding. Take a class with him, you won't regret it.

You can tell Ron knows what he's talking about! I think that he handled Debate very intelligently. I had to take this class as a pre-requisite so I didn't really WANT to take it, but he made it as easy/straightforward as possible for people like me. :)

This was a fun class. It was very easy. If you take the notes in class, that is what is going to be on the exams. The debates are fun and he grades easy.

Arguement and Debate was one of the most straightforward classes I have ever taken in my life. He tells the class EXACTLY what they need to know for the test and is very clear about guidelines for debates and other assignments. It is not at all difficult to recieve an A. Ron is a wonderful professor and I would definitely take his class again.

I disliked public speaking and debate in general, but learned alot after taking this class.

I had no interest in this class as it was required, however Prof. Ron's class was informative and fun. He encouraged class discussion and provided excellent feedback. Prior to this class I believed that debate was a weakness--now I feel that I am competent and effective in this area of communication.

He was one of my favorite professors so far. Definitely take his class!

Very organized and well structured class. I learned so much Mr. Stevenson and how to argue and debate. His tests are straight forward, and nothing is hidden or confusing. I kind of wish we had a better argument topic, but overall great class. I recommend to everyone.

The only reason I bought the textbook was because I anticipated skipping lecture days since they weren't mandatory. Other than that I didn't need it. Class was always fun and the debates were funny during cross examinations. Recommend to take Ron if you need a CT credit. So much better than the fat guy who teaches the business course!

Best professor ever. If I could use two words to describe Dr. Stevenson, they would be "sexy beast." I think what really makes Dr. Stevenson an all-star prof is his high level of dedication to his work. He is always available during his office hours and is always at least 15 mins early to class.

GREAT teacher! Loves his job and does well. University debate coach so he knows his stuff. Don't bother buying the book. Very helpful. Makes topic interesting. 3 debates, 3 exams, 2 briefs and 50 evidence cards. Evidence cards are time consuming but helpful. Overall-Wonderfully pleasant class.

Ron is not only smart, but a very good human being. He's very understanding of students. Workload in this class was not bad. Debates were fun. Even if you ask a stupid question in class, he won't make it uncomfortable. He will be very nice to you. Never gets mad. Exam is carbon copy of notes. Literally. Mr. Stevenson was an excellent professor for COM 2110. I truly learned a lot about debate organization and how to critically think on your feet. This class is excellent if you are interested in debating, following a career path in law or just want to perfect communication skills. Lessons were clear, understandable and very interesting.

Ron was great, you didn't need the book which was a plus and he gave all the notes you needed for the exams in class. He also offered extra credit which was good. The debate topic he selected was pretty boring but he gave us sources to use if we had a hard time finding them to support our evidence. Definitely take him, I ended up with a B+.

Awesome Professor! He is a relatively easy grader, no use of text-book, and he is very easy-going. Highly recommended!

Ron is quite possibly one of the best professors in the COM department. He is funny, intelligent, and easy-going. His legal argument class was VERY interesting - I became intrigued in cases that I barely knew about, and learned a lot about how/why defense & prosecutors frame cases certain ways. Highly recommended!

Ron does a fantastic job of teaching legal argument. There are 3 tests (and he gives you a study guide), one paper, and a take-home final. Not much textbook use. The lectures were super interesting, and the class helps you form your own political and legal opinions, which is cool. I'd highly recommend taking this class with Ron!

This was one of my favorite classes I took at WSU! Especially because Ron taught it. He goes over criminal cases from the past to present and covers the detail from how it happened to who was charged. There are 3 tests, 1 paper (case of your choice), and a TAKE HOME FINAL! He also gives extra credit. Would take this class again if I could. Loved it

Ron was very thorough in his expectations. He gives copies of the reading material so no text is required. There are 3 exams and 1 final + a paper. If you go to class and take good notes you have no surprises on his exams. The exams are based on his lectures. Great professor really enjoyed his class.

This was my 5th time taking Ron and I have to say he just gets better and better. He is extremely helpful and wants to help students succeed. His lectures lead into class discussions, which makes it easier for students to engage, and better understand the topic. No textbook required. I'm taking him for the 6th time this summer!! SUPER EXCITED!!

Ron is incredibly easy-going. He has been one of my favorite professors here at Wayne State. His classes are pretty straight forward: come to class, take notes, and takes the tests. The tests are word for word from the notes he gives you, so studying is easy and not at all intimidating. He wants you to succeed and makes it easy to.

This is my second class with Ron and as expected it was great. There were 4 papers and 2 tests, which were all easy as long as you show up to class and learn the material. He also gives out study guides to the tests that basically tell you what you'll see on the test. I highly recommend taking any COM class with Ron over anyone else.

What's great about Ron is that he posts all assigned readings online, so there is no textbook to buy. He lectures off of these readings, but his tests are completely lecture-based. Grading is based on three major papers and three exams. Solid lecturer, makes class discussion fun.

I avoided taking this required course for years due to fear of public speaking. This was one of my best courses by far at WSU. Three test. You get the study guide in advance. Three speeches with clear guidelines. Listen, take good notes and you will pass. Take this class!

This was my third class with Ron and I am sad to say it will be my last due to me graduating soon. Fun lectures, extra credit, no textbook, a few papers and easy tests. It is nearly impossible to fail his class. All you have to do is show up, take notes, put forth effort, and you will pass his class. Definitely my favorite professor on campus.

I took him for 2 classes - Public Address and Popular & Celebrity Culture. Both were awesome! I honestly did not expect to like Public Address but Ron made it fun. I recommend him to anyone I can.

Write down everything he says. Study everything thats on the study guide and you will pass all of your tests. Papers he will explain what he wants just make sure you do what he says and you will get a good grade hes a very simple teacher

Political Campaigns & Social Movements is the second class I had with Ron, I also took him for Argument & Debate. He's a fantastic professor who is great at incorporating current events into his discussions/lectures. Go to class, write down what he tells you, and you're set. By far my favorite professor during my time at Wayne (I'm a senior).

Best professor Iv'e taken in the four years of majoring in Communication studies!!! Professor is clear, helpful, funny, caring and organized. I wish he could of been my professor for all my Communication classes. Professors like Ronald is hard to find. Very respected and helpful professor!!! :)

Fun class but pay attention

Most likely one of the best professors I've ever had. His lectures are always on point and he is very clear about what you need to know to do well. All of the information is based off of his lectures, so if you skip class you're going to fall behind fast. I would highly reccomend taking any course you can with him.

Class is required in order to do well on the tests. Tests are word for word of the class discussions. Going to class won't be a drag because the topics are so interesting.

Great professor. I am a COM major so I have had many classes with Ron. His lectures are always exciting and provide useful information. Hes very clear on what to expect for the exam. One of WSU's best.

Ron is the best professor that you could ask for during college years. He tells you exactly what you need to know for exams and HE GIVES EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES.! I wish I could have him for my last two semesters. Take Ron classes anytime you can for your classes youll love him.!

Ron is an awesome professor. He is always in favor of the student. His lectures are clear an if you take notes you will have all the answers to the study guides. Debates are easy and if you follow his structure you will do well. I took this course over summer in a 8 week course and found it very easy and straight forward. Ron is awesome!

Listen to his lectures, and take good notes. Having good notes will give you all the answers to the study guide which is exactly what the tests look like. The debates are very straight forward; if you follow the directions you will do well. He is very helpful and understanding. The lectures are interesting as well. Overall good class.

I really enjoyed Prof. Stevenson's class. I strongly recommend him. He is kind, a great listener, and he makes the class fun. I like the fact that he helped us become stronger debaters by giving us feedback. Although this class was required for me, I would say that it is helpful for anyone who wants to break out of their shell and debate.

This was an awesome class. He is really knowledgeable and always makes class fun. This class is sooooo easy, everything that's on the study guides is what will be on the tests. He does not give a lot of homework and is super patient with his students. It was an easy A for me!

He is hands down one of the best profs. Class is very easy just pay attention& study the study guide. He is very patient& wants you to do well. He is very nice and understanding, really makes the class fun. Gives you great feedback and is always willing to help!!!

Great prof. really knows what he is talking about and is a genuine guy. I loved this class even though I had no experience in debating. Easy A if you prepare for the debates and take notes in lecture for the tests.

Great professor and just a down to earth guy. Literally tells you exactly how to get an A on all the debates. Even if you do not like public speaking, a great way to get more comfortable.

Ron is one of the best profs at Wayne State. He makes everything easy to understand. You only write 2 papers and take 4 tests and they are so easy. He tells you exactly what he wants for each and they are not hard at all. He gives great feedback and is always willing to help!

LOVED Prof Ron! I took an extra COM class and I didnt even need it just to be in his class again. No textbook needed, however, if you miss class, you miss the notes. The tests are clear, the homework is clear. I never felt bombarded with information

Best COM professor at WSU!! Had him for 2 different classes and both were structured in the same format. There's a study guide before each test and its easy to follow. Lectures are fun and the topics are relevant.

Ron is not only an amazing teacher, but a stand up individual. I will be taking any and all classes he teaches! Lecture heavy, straight to the point, gives thorough test study guides, and is very handsome ;)

I literally would take every class he teaches if I could he is the best professor I've ever had and made this class so enjoyable. Tests are easy and just like the study guides and theres only 1 out of 2 papers you have to do. He's amazing and wants his students to succeed I loved this class.

Best prof I have taken. His lectures are interactive and interesting. He posts notes on canvas and his tests are EXACTLY like his notes and lectures. No surprises on his quizzes. This is one of the only classes I have actually learned anything from this sem. I currently have a 106 in this class as well. I will make sure I take Ron again.

Ron is one of the better professors in the communications department. He posts all the lecture notes so you follow along and the tests are exactly based on the notes. I will seek out Ron again for future classes.

I learned so much from that class. He is a very talented professor and has a sharp mind. He is not very political and very open minded. He is not a harsh grader.

Super fun class, even better professor! Dr. Stevenson made classes feel less like lectures and more like group discussions where you come out knowing more than just definitions. No busy work or useless assignments, just 3 major tests and an essay with many opportunities for extra credit. Would definitely take a class with the professor again!

This is a great professor for anyone who struggles with public speaking. He answers emails and messages promptly and grades very fairly. The debates were a breeze and he helps you every step of the way. 10/10 would recommend to anyone that has a degree that requires a communication class.

Professor Stevenson is the nicest dude. Class was super easy. Only 1 essay and 3 tests, no final exam. Tests were exactly like study guides. Classes are lecture heavy, but everything is in the notes he uploads so you honestly don't even have to take notes, just read along. Great guy. Super nice. Very knowledgable.

Class is going over notes and discussing them. Everything is interesting, well taught, and connected to the present & past! The only homework was a paper, and the other grades were attendance and 3 tests that were exactly like the study guide and class material. All you need to learn a ton and do well is pay attention and engage in class.

I absolutely would retake it! Notes were posted ahead of the class and the lectures went more in-depth. Attendance is a grade so going counts. It was three tests, a paper, and a final exam. Nothing to heavy that a student should worry about.

Very easy class and a great professor! He made class fun, attendance was mandatory but we do get time off class on exam days. Exams are online and open note and he wants to see you succeed! Would take this professor again

One of the best professors I've had at Wayne State. So good that I will be taking another class with him next semester. Lectures are clear and informative, follow the rubrics for speeches and you will do great, exams are online and have the exact same questions as the test review sheets, so be sure to complete the review sheets and you'll do great.

2160 is a very discussion based class, and Ron ensures that. Students are expected to come to class having done the readings and ready to engage in discussion, and when they do, discussions are excellent. Ron does a nice job of explaining concepts and introducing real world examples, with easy tests and light homework.

Great guy. Super understanding and cool. Very knowledgable. Debates are very structured and he talks you through the structure beforehand so there's really no room to mess up. Exams are online and exactly like the review guides.

This is a very laid back class. The class is conversation-heavy, so be present for lecture to get attendance credit and learn the material. He provides notes you go through in class and even allows you to use these notes on the tests. The tests are very simple and not hard at all, and all are online. He is a very caring and educated professor.

Chillest professor ever. Wants his students to succeed and has generally interesting lectures. I recommend this class if you're some sort of comm major or just need some extra credits.

Ron is my favorite professor I've had. I have taken all 3 of his classes and I wish he taught other courses that I could still take. He is respectful of students and their opinions, is always letting students answer questions or chime in, and takes the time to answer questions clearly. His grading is very clear and so is the setup of the class.

This is a very engaging and discussion-focused class. The professor encourages participation and provides helpful explanations. Attendance is mandatory but worth it - the material is interesting and the tests are straightforward. Unstuckstudy was a great study aid alongside the class notes.

I wish I could take this professor for every single communication class. He is such a great professor and makes class enjoyable to go to. Only grades were participation, 4 exams, and a final essay, but every exam was open note. He would upload all the notes before class and you would just have to follow along and add what every you wanted.

I've taken 3 classes with Ron. Although they are mostly lecture classes, he presents the information in a relevant and engaging way. He makes it easy to participate. He is an easy grader and gives lots of feedback. He gives you all the notes and anything you need for a test. There is hardly any homework, if any at all. I recommend taking!

(COM 2170 Persuasive Speaking) Professor Stevenson is hands-down one of my favorite professors at Wayne State. He creates a comfortable space to grow as a speaker and gives helpful, thoughtful feedback on every speech. He makes the class accessible for everyone while still making sure we're learning and improving every step of the way.

Professor Stevenson's genuine passion for debate makes the course dynamic and meaningful. He can make complex concepts feel approachable without watering them down. His structured guidance and respect for student voices make this class one of the most valuable experiences on campus. I would recommend this class to anyone!

He is honestly one of the best teachers on campus. He is so inspirational and he is so helpful during lectures, and gives us review papers before our tests we have 4 during the semester and one paper and no assignments in between. Offers extra credit. He lets us speak up , share our opinions and thoughts, doesn't make class boring and relates to us
