he is the best

Mr. Strong explains the topics very clearly in class and quite often provides his own notes to help learn the material. He has a business background and relates a lot of what we learn to real life situations which I found to be be very insightful. If you do your work and study for tests you will find the class is not that hard.

He was always willing to stay after class to answer my questions. I don't care much for math but I got through the class by asking questions and doing all the homework and really preparing for the tests.

As a business major I love that Mr. Strong relates the material to business and economics. It was a hard but I loved the class. Be prepared to spend a lot of time doing homework and preparing for tests which are hard but fair. Always takes time in class to answer questions. He makes sure you understand!!

Awesome teacher!! He does a great job helping student who ask for it! Just be sure to do your homework and quizzes and you'll be fine. Lots of students study outside of class so don't be afraid to get help from peers!

He is a great professor who knows what he is talking about and can help very well and look at his notes which help on the homework and tests.

As a 16 year old, I'd say that Mr. Strong is probably one of the best teachers I've ever encountered. His lectures are interested and correlates well with the homework. However, in order to do decent, you need to actually do the homework to have some benefit. Also, get the CASIO fx-115ES PLUS calculator. This baby will do anything. It's something.

The course itself is very difficult, but he allows you to work with others in class, and also gives really great study guides for tests.

He's definitely a very solid teacher in his own right. He makes awesome study guides that any one can pick on it. If you study alot for his class, you'll find that the class is not difficult at all.

I loved working on math problems on the whiteboard with other students, it really helped make the material sink in. Mr Strong would walk around the room and make helpful comments on your work to get you on the right track. A lot of homework and regular quizzes but very fair.

He is a great teacher who makes the class flow really smoothly. It can get a little difficult but if you pay attention during class and do the homework any class you take with him shouldn't be too hard.

Professor Strong is great, I just took his class for the summer. Very fast, 5 week course and can be challenging in the beginning, especially the calculus part, but after that it should be easier. Gives partial credit if you show work and he does curve the final in a way. I recommend taking Professor Strong for this class.

Great guy, can be a little fast paced but he is very attentive to the material he teaches. I actually received my highest math grade while taking is course and think he is very effective. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is willing to learn.

Very fair grader, and will correct himself if he was wrong. Enjoyed class participation, worked out problems on the whiteboard with a group. Tests and homework are difficult, must have a strong basis in algebra and calculus to succeed. Took over the summer, so it was very fast, but over a regular semester would definitely be easier. Great Professor and one I would suggest taking for any math course. Be prepared to have the prerequisites down before you come to class but he's thorough with his material. Keeps the class interesting with board work (in groups) and discussions. Recommend taking him!

Ronald Strong is a great professor. He does expect you to know your algebra, but all math teachers do. He lets you work in partners on the boards which helps with your learning tremendously and he tells you exactly what you will be tested on, no tricks. He is good at explaining the concepts he is teaching and provides good in-depth notes.

I took him for 213 and 218. I really enjoyed his class. He was very clear on what he expected and gives you study guides that match the exam with different numbers. If you do what he tells you, you will pass. You need to know algebra pretty well. If you come to class and do your work, hes cool to you and will drop your lowest scores at the end.

Mr. Strong is a teacher I personally enjoyed so much so that I took him back to back terms in 213 and 218. I would recommend taking his class as long as you are confident in your abilities, he has very little patience for students who don't understand concepts they should know from previous classes. Clear and concise expectations.

Summer school class so a lot of information in one month, but the first unit is the hardest get passed that and your fine. Mr. Strong does a great job realizing there is a restraint on time and eases the difficulty of the class.

If you take this class be ready to work. Homework and quizzes after every lecture. Homework does count for a grade so do not feel like you can just skip it because it all adds up eventually. A very fair teacher however, and is very knowledgeable about what he teaches. A good class.

Tough grader but if you listen to what he says to you, you shouldn't have any problems. SHOW YOUR WORK!!! Even when you think you shouldn't do it. He is fair in grading as long as you show your work. Good teacher would recommend to others. Answers all questions you may have. Always do the homework its critical to do well on quizzes.

Great professor. The class is hard and the workload is heavy. If you go to every class and participate you'll be fine though. Strong was definitely one of the best professors I've had while in college.

Fantastic professor. His classes are very fun to go to, and he explains the math concepts very well. Doing problems on the board with others was so much fun. But this is not an easy class. You have to put in a lot of effort to get a good grade. I would highly recommend this professor to any hard working individuals.

Dont expect a good grade if you are not willing to work hard. He provides his own notes for each topic with lots of examples!! Class involves a lot of board work with partners while he walks around the room and provides help when needed. This was a hard class but I learned a lot.

Mr. Strong is the best professor I've taken at PVCC. I took him for both MAT213 and 218. He was also the hardest. You really do have to work for your grades in his class. If you need help and actually try in his class, he will do everything he can to help you. Attend every class and make sure you understand the material before moving on to succeed.

Professor Strong for Math 213 brief Calculus. The best teacher I have had to date. Listen to him in what he tells you. He will tll you what you need to do to pass his class. Algebra is a big part of this class. Test are based off of what is taught in class. Of course different numbers though same principle for all. Will take again for Math218

Professor Strong is a great teacher. I took calc in high school and barely understood it. He teaches you what to do in class and then gives you the homework. I also like how he gives you harder questions for the homework than for the test. It makes test taking very easy. I would definitely take his class again because he's a cool guy and a math wiz

Professor Strong is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is tough but will give you every opportunity to succeed. If he sees that you are making an effort, he will definetly go out of his way to offer you extra help. I would recommend him if you are taking MAT212/213 or 218. It is important that you come to class and stay off your phone.

Prof Strong provides great in class examples and his online notes are thorough. 1. Review Algebra, 2. Read some of the textbook, 3. Do his practice exams more than once, and you will ACE these classes. These tough classes are preparing students for Junior and Senior year. Stop wasting mommy's money if you are too lazy to do the work needed to pass.

He is a great professor! He lectures every class and will take the time out in the beginning to go over passed lessons to assure that everyone understands the information. I was placed in MAT151 based on my GPA. Because of this, I had to work for my grade. And I mean a lot. Take advantage of the free tutoring center because I wouldn't of received such a good grade without them. Study, study, study! Cant expect to get a good grade unless you put in the work. I was at the tutoring center probably 10+ hours a week.

I took brief calculus with Professor Strong and he is a really good professor. You will do well if you keep up with the homework. All the test questions are from the homework so you know what's on the test. He also gives practice tests (optional) so you can study for the tests. Professor Strong is a hilarious and caring individual. He is straight up and gets to the point. He lectures very clearly and wants to make sure his students understand the material very well! He is a good professor but his subject matter is very challenging and will take up a lot of your time outside of class if you aren't a math brainiac. He is fair a straight forward with grading, just be ready to work an insane amount if you want the grade. Tough course.

Professor Strong was a good teacher however I strongly feel that him teaching 2 lessons at a time was a bit overwhelming for my class. And most examples from the presentations he did't do he just spoke it out and I did't really understand.

Professor Strong is an intelligent teacher, I have taken him twice once for MAT213 and once for MAT218, He doesn't grade homework, but he has quizzes and exams that account for your whole grade, you are expected to do your homework as well as I would advise you to do it for your own benefit. The courses he teaches are difficult so be prepared!

Prof. Strong is a really great professor, he does his job very professionally and effectively. There is a fair amount of assignments given on a daily and weekly basis, but it's all done online. He is very personable and beams intelligence. He wants interaction and for people to call him out if he makes any mistakes. Great prof!

Very brilliant professor, definitely knows what he is teaching. He sometimes might go off on a tantrum but only because he likes to talk about the importance of learning and how calculators dont help you haha... He is also funny at random moments and is very well respected. He distinguishes hard work and gives us all a chance to do better.

For our class, homework wasn't graded, only done for extra practice. No textbook, he just used powerpoints and explained how to do the problems on the board and using Microsoft Excel. Computers with the program are allowed for the tests. TESTS ARE MULTI CHOICE If you remember how to input the formulas, You'll do just fine.

I never excelled in Math, starting in MAT092 my Freshman year. Never did I think I'd come so close to an A in a calculus class, especially after my C in 151. Professor Strong paves the path for you to succeed and you can either follow it and put in the time and do well, or not. Do ALL of the homework and practice exams and you will pass.

I had Professor Strong for two classes and he's my favorite professor. I would take a class with him again if I could. You'll get a good grade in his class if you put the effort in. MAT218, it's important that you come to class and take thorough notes. He expects you to be on par with prior math when taking his course but will explain it to you if time allows. He's tough on tests only to make sure you're held accountable to know how to do it instead of handing out a grade. Valuable information and good if you desire to learn.

Solid man, took his summer linear algebra course. He is very specific about the way he grades his stuff, wants you to do it his way. So pay attention, and then do it his way. Mandatory attendance. Fun but not too fun guy, lectures are clear. Usually reasonable with assignment due dates and schedule flexibility.

Good professor, some lessons are hard to understand and require a little more explanation. He does put instructional videos in the homework assignments in case you still do not know how to do it. Make sure to attend class it makes understanding the material much easier.

Simply if you don't show up you will not pass and if you Don't go to the tutors almost every week you won't pass. All in all he teaches the material very well but is strict and expects you to know all aspects of algebra before taking class.

Professor Strong was one of the best overall math teachers I have had in years. I really enjoyed the dynamic of the class; he mixes lectures with group board work which helps in applying the just learned material. He's also very fair when it comes to accommodating student needs. Grades are reliant on tests so make sure to study and you'll be fine!

Prof Ron is just awesome. One of the best Maths teacher you will ever see. He has a great understanding of what he is teaching. He makes you working hard, I swear I was about to withdraw. If you are not hard worker, its just simple you wont pass. Unless you are very brilliant. If you are used to some easy A probably this is not your class.

I had him for Calc 2 and am currently taking him for Linear Algebra. His lectures are clear to understand but he does expect you to be way above average in math. You do a lot of work in class and he is willing to coach you through. The tests are hard but he won't surprise you. Overall, very enjoyable and very challenging experience.

Sometimes comes off as stern, but as long as you aren't being a troublemaker, is actually rather laid back in running class. During lecture, frequently engaged class in group practice on boards. Also handled Covid-19 craziness well, clearly outlining changes early on; diligent and responsible. Clearly cared about students' success. "Mastery" exams.

I rate Strong well, despite a unlucky semester. Linear Alg. is tough. Yet for some reason, it was 2 days a week, 1:15 sessions. Not nearly enough to cover the material, so everything felt incredibly rushed- learned 70% on my own. That's likely a foolish board member's fault, though. I'm sure he would have liked more time, in fact, he said as much.

Calculus 2 (MAT 230) is a challenging class, but professor Strong is there to help students through the material. He added extra videos and texts alongside his own lectures. You will not be able to pass this class without putting in the work, but professor Strong is readily available to answer questions. Participation matters. Class is engaging.

Professor Strong gave good amount of materials to study and homework. If you attend his lecture, watch videos, and study the notes, then you shouldn't have too much trouble doing the homework or complete the exam. However, if you don't pay attention, it's not an easy class.

Professor Strong lectures are pre-recorded which gave me time to review them and then complete the HW. He gave us extra resources to review the material and he also made extra videos to show examples or go into detail on the material. As long as you do the work you won't have any problems.

I took Professor Strong's MAT230 (Calculus 2) course in Live-Online format and really enjoyed it! He's accessible outside of class and is more than willing to adjust his teaching style to fit the students wants and/or needs. Overall a really good class, would definitely sign up for another one of his classes!

BEST math class I've taken!! Prof Strong offers MANY opportunities to succeed! He's available outside of class for extra help, he makes extra videos to clarify tough topics, Calc 2 is hard but Prof Strong makes it easy to master. I have a rough time with math but as long as you put in the work you will do well! HW/group work aligns w/test so do HW!

Professor Strong is a by the book professor. He is always available to his students to elaborate and break down his work and always stretches his resources to help his students prosper in his class. Expect to do a lot of group work and homework to get by the class (useful). Extremely intuitive for people with ADHD and autism. Endorsed!

For a live online hybrid class, Prof. Strong has put in the hours to provide lecture videos you can rewatch and dedicating class time to helping with homework problems. HOW MATH CLASSES SHOULD BE! It's not so students can solve the trick questions it so they understand how to solve the problem and apply it. Thats how he teaches. Must want to learn.

Overall good choice

Very nice and reasonable. He's willing to work with you as long as you communicate. If you do your homework and show up you should do fine! But his lectures are a little rough- he tends to have you learn difficult material on your own/through videos then spends lectures on easier concepts, I prefer it the other way. Unorganized at times.

Prof. Strong is overall a solid professor. He gives a lot of homework but it's necessary to fully comprehend the concepts. His exams can be difficult but he is clear on what will be on them and how you will be graded. if you are looking to really learn the concepts, Professor strong is for sure the way to go.

I enjoyed taking MAT218 with Strong. However, he can catch an attitude and become irritated quickly, he doesnt have much patience. Regardless, he teaches the material well and goes over homework problems during class for those who dont understand. Be sure to put work into this class, like any math class, or you wont pass.

An experienced old-school math professor, whether in person or live online. He can teach a lot of material in a short span of time and generally cares for the well-being of the students. There's no getting around knowing your stuff for his classes, if you're one to ensure to study & come in well prepared before class, I can wholeheartedly suggest.

Professor Strong was definitely one of the better math professors I've had through my college career. I messaged him constantly on questions I needed more clarification on because, you know, calculus. And he was very responsive and made videos on everything we went over. There was never a question I wasn't prepared for. Thank you for the teachings!

If you are not prepared to learn then taking a class with Prof Strong will be very difficult. He provides excellent resources (extra lecture videos/clarifying questions) to those that participate and put in the work. If you do not do so you can expect to fail. Professor Strong's Calc II class was very structured and easy to access in MOER. The lecture videos were extremely helpful for reviewing content and studying for exams. Make sure to utilize the resources provided for the class and professor Strong will ensure that you succeed.

Took Professor Strong's MAT 231 course during the summer. He's an excellent teacher. I had thought it would be tedious to take Calc II as a summer course but he presented it in a way that made it easily understandable. If you missed something in class or just missed class in general he has all of his lectures in MOER as videos. Would recommend!

Professor Strong puts a lot of work into his classes. If you want to succeed, you can--he has lots of notes and videos for you to use. That said, his classes are relatively lecture-heavy, so make sure you put in the time to learn the material outside of class so you can participate and ask questions during class. He is very animated, lighthearted, and absolutely one of the best professors I have had in college and surely the best for math.
