I think that he has a great teaching style, and he is very laid back...his only problem is that he is too close minded on HIS own political views...other than that....he's great! :)

Cocky, arrogant, but that's what's funny about him. Given that he is openly Republican I think that it's nice that he doesn't skirt around issues. He likes discussions in class and he goes over things with you until you understand and share your opinion.

He's a pretty cool guy. He is a bit arrogant, but seems to play that for laughs. He is WAY republican, so if you're not, expect to get annoyed in class. He likes discussions but will beat you down with his views. Overall, it's an easy course.

GREAT teacher- he's the first who could teach me something about government that was real and useful to me. I don't just hear it, finally I know what it all means. Just do the work and you'll make an A, no problem. GOOD STUFF!

Excellent teacher... class is very routine, easy quizzes: 10 questions, 5 pts each, 50 pts just for showing up to class. He's republican! He prints out notes for you, curves the midterm exam, and you only have to do 3 out of 4 1000-word essays. Very good teacher, not hard, I learned a ton!

He is great teacher and I look forward to going to his class. I should I have taken him over FIVE TIMES and counting. He really heplful and and you will learn something in every class you take with him.

I did have one problem with this professor. At the end of the term, he said i earned an A, then a B appeared as my final grade. after pursuing the reason, i found out he counted me absent 6 times when i was ony gone once! This was not the problem, the problem was getting him to correct it.

Yea he gives u all the notes but just reads off them the whole class. U have to read all the chapters in the book (boring!) on ur own time & take quizzes on them. He gives like 2 tests but there's so much material to cover from all the notes! He's a coach & acts like it. I thought it was completley boring & he makes u work for the A, he admits it!

This teacher is not hard at all. The quiz's are only 10 questions and they are always easy. He only assigns two assignments. You may have to study the notes but overall its an easy A.

This Professor is extremely fair. You get points for just showing up. Read your chapters and do the work, and you'll do fine. He allows you to think for yourself. Isn't that what's important? Forming your own opinions in life?

He wants you to call him "Uncle Ron", how lame. Class is boring. Quiz every week. Study what he tells you and you will do fine on test. Don't bother doing extra credit work or engaging him in class. He says it will help your grade but I did extra work and it had absolutely no effect on my grade. The best thing about him, he is Republican.

He is very nice professor. He give test every week so read your book and study, however, if you do not know the answer during test he's gonna give you 50% anyway and 10% for showing up so it's not a bad professor. Only the class is boring but not if you know how to joke. I got a B for this class I thought he will give me a C. Oh! well.

Very easy class- just skim the chapters and take the quizzes- he gives so many bonus quiz points! He tells you exactly whats on the exam they are so easy! Highly recommended

He is a great teacher b/c he makes the class interesting. The only thing is the book is boring and you got a quiz on one chapter every week. His midterm is not hard unless you study the material b/c he tells you everything that is goin to be on it.

I loved this teacher. I do not like history at all but I found his class to be interesting! You have a quiz every week in his class about the chapter you read that week. You only have two exams they are mostly fill in the blank. Just study for the test and you will do fine, he tells you everything that will be on the test.

Didn't like the class at all. Very conservative, all he talks about in class is how republicans are better then democrats "anyone wants to argue with me?". Wants us to participate yet when someone raises their hand ignores them for 5 minutes. Sometimes he just talks nonsense. Oh, did I mention? Midterm and final are fill in the blanks. A is 92>.

Difficult class but I took it as a flex start class and we only had 8 class sessions (of over 3 hours per class) to do everything. He is very vocal about his opinions on government and loves to argue with anyone who disagrees with him.

vERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND.

Conservative and religious, but keeps his opinions as strictly that, opinions. He doesn't force himself on anyone, but jokes a lot about differing views. Very straight forward, gives you all of the answers in advance, you just have to make sure you pick up on them before hand. Great teacher, really gets you to understand/think about the material.

He was awesome. Very funny and helped whenever help was needed. There are 2 papers due and quizes every week so i suggest you get the freakin text book and read. He's a conservatist and loves a good debate. He prefers to be called Uncle Ron but thats a story in itself. EXCELLENT TEACHER!!

I love Dr. VonBehren! Excellent teacher. The tests are kinda lengthy but there are only two of them and he pretty much tells you exactly whats gonna be on the tests before hand so you only study whats important. As long as you dont miss more that three classes and read the study guide its and easy A

This is not a class for the open minded. Being a Democrat I am constantly frustrated by his conservative views and his inability to let your views be known. He is the only upper level history teacher at the Osceola Campus (I have had to take him for 4 classes). Avoid him at all costs, though the class is easy. Weekly quiz and 2 tests. 4 A's for me.

I have had Professor VonBehren for 5 classes and I must say that I really like his teaching style. Others have expressed displeasure at his opinionated approach, but you must understand his attitude. He ALWAYS allows for others to disagree, in fact, he ENCOURAGES this. He gives his political views as his opinion ONLY, unlike many other professors.

He is a great teacher, very conservative, but he explains well. He always give a quizz every week and if u read the chapters u should get a 100 for all of them . He tells u the questions for the exam although there are a lot of them ,he tells u the answers, The person with the highest average in the class skips the final I DID!!!!

Hes good if you stay away from abortion. He dosen't give out an extraordinary amount of work, but theres @ least 1 quiz every week which can really make you feel burned out! This was a pretty easy class. I took it flex start so we had 2 quizzes/4hr meeting, midterm after 3 weeks, final after 7 but it was still easy. I got an A easy but several people still struggled. he gives you 50% on the quiz for showing up then the other 50% is answering 10 questions and bonus. plenty of extra credit available.

He's a very conservative professor, i passed, but the first couple days of class he didnt even talk about what were suppose to be learning except his view points and how there is no such thing as global warming. VERY CLOSED MINDED. If you can deal with it take him but if you have no patience for that dont bother. he's conceited,and has tenure oooo

Prof. VonBehren is one of the greatest teachers that there are! He is a very knowledgeable man, so make certain that all of your assignments are accurate! There are EASY current events due each week, and also easy weekly quizzes on the book's chapters. He even gives you notes, to study off of for the Midterm and Final! (And he gives GREAT reviews!)

Prof VonBehren is awesome! This is the second class that I've taken with him and I will definitely miss him! I would recommend him to anyone. There are EASY quizzes weekly - as long as you read the assigned chapter. Two papers, two tests. Tests have tons of material that they cover, but he gives GREAT reviews beforehand! Take him!

The Class was real easy you need to study. I suggest work hard on the two papers grading easily. Listen to him repeats alot of information that will be in the exam. Funny Teacher will help you along the way just ask him for help.I take the exam so I do not know my grade yet. Mini Quizes each week are great exercise and you just really have to read.

Very nice professor. He will help you if you need it. 12 quizzes from the text. Midterm and final from his notes, he pretty much gives you the answers. 1 case study that he gives you the format and a simple essay.He offers simple extra credit like showing your voters registration. if you have a high A he may make you skip the final. This professor is very nice. There is one current event due and one quiz a week. His midterm and final are long but he tells you exactly what will be on them. You will need the book, since the quizes are based on the chapter. Also there is one big project and presentation due, but he lets you pick your topic. Overall a great class.

Took this professor for AMH 2010, AMH 2020 and POS 2112. Great teacher,very clear and up front and tells you everything you need to know. There are weekly quizzes based on the book,a paper and presentation on a person of your choice, and another paper on an event of your choice. He also prints the notes for you.

I thought it was going to be a hard class but it was super laid back test every wednesday. He goes over information before each test not a hard class to pass.

Professor VonBehren is awesome. I'm a DE student and took his US Government class; his class was not hard to balance with other work. There is one 10 question quiz each week, they are relatively easy and you'll receive clear feedback. There are 4 writing assignments, don't start them at the last minute though. He also responds to emails quick.

I am a DE student during the pandemic. I had a rough start so wasn't doing too well in any of my classes. This professor understood me and helped me ALOT throughout the entirety of the course. you can tell he truly cares. he gives a 10 question quiz every week, and for the long essay-type assignments he gives you WEEKS to complete them. 10/10

Professor Ron is very good. He is very caring and tries to make the class as interesting as possible. Of course, we had to read chapters of a textbook and take quizzes based on each chapter, but they weren't that bad since you get 50 points for participating on the quiz. There are 2 paper assignments, one midterm and a final. But very flexible.
